Thought I had better start a new thread as the old one was about to crash

Happy 30th B'Day kbaby Wish I was 30 again but then I suppose I wouldn't even be married let alone have a house to live in or my 2 precious children. Whoops-going all sentimental now, better go!

Taking DD1 to her dance class Christmas Party so got some sarnies to be getting on with.

Happy Sunday

Evening all... lovely to see a nice huge thread already..

Bloss.. I think i'll be in serious competition with you on the 'who is going to breed the fattest baby' competition... William was 20lb 9oz at 24 weeks. Ive lost count of weeks now but think he must be well over 1 1/2 stone. Am lifting him up in the air loads in the hope that it helps shift my bingo wings.

Williams eating far too much. He had a weetabix for breckie with some mashed banana and formula milk (and 4oz milk), then another 9oz milk mid morn, then for lunch he has either veggie dinner or chicken and veg or something with a yoghurt for afters and no milk, for tea, more veg and toast if teething and 6oz milk then at seven before bed, a whopping 9oz again! Sort of wondering if too much but he eats it all, so i figured he must want it. I can see him being a late walker due to his size and height!

Kayzed are you still doing your exercise? You were into lots of fitness before wernt you? (or was that just my image of you hill walking and doing yoga in the outback?!) Its so wierd how you picture people isnt it!!!

HC glad to see your name back again... I prefer it to you other one. Have you posted any piccies on the thread at all? I still dont know how to but then i am daft.

Got v frustrated today. William was with mil all day. I went to pick him up from work to find that he hadnt been able to sleep all day because his cousin aged six had been there all day shouting and waking him up. He was so shattered poor sausage. I felt really sorry for him.

Festive and kosh lovely pics

Maewest, Pink, Algach, usandbump, Kbaby (Happy Bday)Wallace.. its so comforting seeing all the old names!

French, bead and all the other names i'm new to HELLO!!

Willaim has two teeth and they're bloody sharp.

prettymum · 09/01/2007 00:31

wow, we'll be needing a new thread soon already!!

lovely pics everyone, i need to get round to uploading some new ones onto pictrail.

kbaby- happy late birthday!!

hc- toddlers can be soo trying at times cant they, hope things are better tomorrow.

frenchleave- welcome back

agalch- im soo jealous, i want a wedding now!! it must be soo fun! are you having a hen night?

got junior weighed last week and if i can remember i think he weighs arond 17lbs and 14 oz and he will be 6 months on the 19th.

he has been better at night the last few nights, last night he woke once for a feed and was smiling at me when i put him down, we had to bring him into our bed to give him cuddle! tonight he went down at 8 and is still sleeping!

he still isnt rolling but he is sitting up very well and is always trying to grab everything in his path and ends up on his belly which is soooo funny.

gonna go now and have a nice soak in the bath, had a nap around 9pm-11pm so feel a bit refreshed! goodnight ladies! and goodmorning too xx

SleepIsForTheWeak · 09/01/2007 08:50

morning all,

Someone asked who is who? I am / was Nixnoo....

I forgot to mention: I have stopped giving Sefton a dream feed - since I have stopped he has been almost sleeping through - till 4am....
Has this helped him sleep better do you think? Or is it a co-incidence and if I dream fed him he would sleep later???? Dont want to play with it too much!

Have to do my self assessment tax return today! Yaaaaaaaaawn

I am sure he just said "dadadada"!

usandnosleep · 09/01/2007 08:52

SleepIsForTheWeak · 09/01/2007 08:53

just seen we are having 2 minutes silence
so sad, such a loss

maewest · 09/01/2007 08:55

Just a quickie - yesterday was knackering, but ok. DS is such a happy little chap, we did venture out briefly to post my dad's birthday pressie (60 today!) but spent most of the day lolling around in bed whilst I worked on a website for a mate and DS alternately dribbled happily and fed frequently (he had a few micro naps). I reckon he's doing about 1.5-2hrs between feeds during the day and 3-4hrs at night, so kind of like feeding a newborn at the mo, but MUCH heavier. Will get him weighed today, but can tell that he is one chunky monkey.

Twinkle - really shocked and for you about Aidan's tongue tie and your problems with bf. You did the best you could for him under difficult circumstances

Will be thinking of ggg and Maude at 9am xx

pinkdolly · 09/01/2007 08:57

Have just found the thread about Maude.

It's devastating. It's the worst thing that can happen to a mother. I sat here and cried, how unfair. Poor GGG, I hope she can draw strengh from her other dc and the family around her.

frenchleave · 09/01/2007 09:11

Me too, have just spent a tearful half hour reading all the messages for GGG and Maude. Utterly tragic. They must be at the funeral at the moment. Words fail.

prettymum · 09/01/2007 13:31

just seen the pictures of maude, beautiful little girl, my heart goes out to GGG and her family.

IamBlossom · 09/01/2007 13:43

god it's so awful isn't it. I have laughed today and then thought, here I am laughing at my DS1, something he said or something he did and they are at Maude's funeral, and felt guilty. DS1 is the same age. I sat here with my two boys on my lap in front of the telly at 9am, and observed the two minutes, squeezing them and kissing them and smelling them. The messages are so lovely. It's touched me so much more it being a Mumsnetter, I mean, you hear about 2 year olds dying on the news and you feel sad, but it being one of us, it's just so hard. And the photos....I shed quite a few tears at those, esepcially when I heard the music...

maewest · 09/01/2007 15:52

Know what you mean Blossom - felt that way when feeding DS at 3am this morning, just held him close and was thankful.

I looked at the lovely montage that StGeorge has put together and I had tears in my eyes. Such a waste of a beautiful little girl. The pic of her as a little baby really brought it home to me. It does make all our problems pale into insignificance doesn't it.

Kayzed - I'm responding on the other thread too. But I am - how can these things go unnoticed??? Especially since your Roshi has been seen by so many health professionals. Is she babbling at all yet?

kbaby · 09/01/2007 21:46

I think I have the worlds grumpiest baby, he is only ever happy in the morning until his 1st nap and then its downhill. By about 2pm he insists on being carried everywhere and im lucky if I can get him down in 5 minute bursts. Hes quite happy to be carried about though. MIL looked after him today for me to go on a spa day with some friends and even she said he was bad which is saying something from the woman who thinks DD is always ?as good as gold?

I tried him with a teaspoon of baby rice yesterday and he was not amused, It took me a while to actually get the spoon in his mouth then he spat the baby rice out and the 2nd mouthful he gagged and cried. I guess ill try again soon.
The little monkey has also decided that instead of waking at 4am its now 3am and he wont sleep next to me unless my nipple remains in his mouth, if I try and move it he screams. It means that I feed him 7.30pm, 12-1am and then 3am just to get him to stay asleep next to me, otherwise we would start the day at 3am which I am not doing. He did have a bf at 6.40pm tonight and then drank 6ozs ff at 7.30 so I wonder how much milk he actually takes when bf.
So just to make me feel are any babies just being put down awake and then falling asleep themselves. This has become my obsession.

BTW whats with all these babies having 4 feeds a day???? DS has about 7 will he ever cut the nighttime ones out?

Having just read more about Maude I feel ashamed that I have moaned about DS. It all means nothing when you hear about something so sad. I still have my 2 wonderful children with me and have counted my blessings today.

Twinklemegan · 09/01/2007 21:49

You're b/f though kbaby - I'm sure that makes a big difference to the number of feeds. Sorry - Aidan is getting good at going to sleep by himself . It sounds a complete nightmare - I do hope things improve for you.

Twinklemegan · 09/01/2007 21:50

BTW, your afternoons sound very like ours with Aidan.

prettymum · 09/01/2007 21:59

kz- at how long it took for them to realise she has tongue tie, hope things start to get better now that you know she has tongue tie {{{{hugs}}}}

kbaby- junior can fall asleep by himself during day naps but does cry for first 5 minutes but needs to be cuddled in evening.
hope its just a phase for your ds and grows out of it!

not much happening here, have ordered a lateral thigh trainer today as i need to control my slight weight gain, paid £35 for it so better be worth the money!

kbaby · 09/01/2007 22:00

im half and half now. He is on 4 ff a day Im still bf from 3am onwards to 2pmish

prettymum · 09/01/2007 22:02

like twinklemegan said kbaby you're still bf so maybe its just comfort thing for your ds. i remember when i was bf dd, i could never put her down!! id feed her to sleep, the moment i'd put her down she'd wake up!! it was so frustrating!!

I forgot to say that roshis tounge tie has only now been found. Do you think that DS had it as you mentioned he was a bad feeder and i know it tends to run in families.

Twinklemegan · 09/01/2007 22:05

Just a thought kbaby. Could you start b/f and f/f at the same feed? That's what I did with Aidan. I started him off on both breasts, then topped up with formula. It depends how long you want to keep up with b/f I suppose as it would mean he'd go longer between feeds, but it sounds like you'd like that? Aidan was on four feeds a day when I was doing that. Incidentally, he's now wanting an extra late night feed again.

Twinklemegan · 09/01/2007 22:07

Yeah - interesting the running in families thing. In hindsight, I should have realised about Aidan a whole lot sooner as DH has always described his tongue (don't ask!) in a way which would be perfectly described by tongue tie! And his mother couldn't b/f him.
