Thought I had better start a new thread as the old one was about to crash

Happy 30th B'Day kbaby Wish I was 30 again but then I suppose I wouldn't even be married let alone have a house to live in or my 2 precious children. Whoops-going all sentimental now, better go!

Taking DD1 to her dance class Christmas Party so got some sarnies to be getting on with.

Happy Sunday

Bloss - those piccies are gorgeous - you look so radiant in them.

Thanks ladies - glad to know Josh is not alone in not eating solids - I just don't think he is a hungry baby - never has been really (not like these babies you hear of who were downing 9oz bottles by the time they were 2 weeks old ) - so I am sure he will do it in his own time! I just enjoy feeding him so wish he would enjoy eating it!!

IamBlossom · 05/02/2007 14:23

Hey KZ! Great photo.

Toby has a stinking cold again, poor love, and a hacking cough. off his food apart from porridge, but still taking his milk ok.

have to cook tonight apparently, oh bum, so going to go for Beef Stroganoff in the slow cooker, looks straightforward enough......no pressure......

ImpyChica · 05/02/2007 14:27

Lovely photos everyone. The breastfeeding ones are great. My DP is pretty rubbish at taking photos of me (I'm the photographer in the family...) so I didn't get any early b-fing ones. Anyway, here's my earliest pic with Ryan (or if that doesn't work it's at the bottom of this page

Those having problems with food probably just need to keep perservering. I've been trying Ryan with food for two months now and it's only these past couple of weeks that he's really gobbling stuff down (he's 7 months old today).

Anyone planning their summer holidays yet? We'd really like to go camping here in Spain - but the campsites aren't great here (not like in France) and we don't want to drive too far. Might end up hiring a rural house or something, dunno. What is everyone else planning?

AnnieOleTing · 05/02/2007 14:42

Beautiful pics everyone!! Makes me broody again....

Ceebee, and Soph, and prettymum, K is the same with the food. The mouth goes up and down in anticipation, but as soon as the spoon/finger goes in, shut tight. Tried a bit of BLW yesterday with some broccoli and potato, but still nothing. She did suck on my potato on my fork though... but again, didn't actually eat anything.
Maybe it's the virtual triplet thingy (aren't we all 18th July?).

She only woke once last night

Right well, I've been accused of not doing enough work, so I'd better go and mooch around looking busy for a bit...

maewest · 05/02/2007 17:52

DS doesn't seem that keen on purees, anytime I approach him with a spoon he will take a tentative lick and then clams up, often pulling a disgusted face. He is much more keen on grabbing food from me and gumming it furiously - banana and pear so far, plus a nibble on a bit of carrot. I'm trying to feel relaxed about it, as I know he will 'get' eating eventually, only thing I'm slightly concerned about is his iron levels as I'm still bf. Might have to be brave and ask the hv for advice . Mind you I'm slightly afraid that I'll get a telling off for waiting 'so long' to wean (i.e. until 6 months).

Am giving consideration to posting my birth photo, but I look all sweaty and a bit mad, so....

HumphreysCorner · 05/02/2007 19:36

Get on with it maewest

Ok, here goes for a short time only you understand . Next time I'm demanding a hairbrush!

soph28 · 05/02/2007 21:12

Wow I love all the photos now that I can see them all!

Had forgotten that quite a few of these babies are 18 July like Chloe!

Well Chloe, despite not eating, has ironically cut her first tooth! Anyone else have teeth yet? (you can't actually see it, it's on the top, but you can definitely feel it!)

Holidays- I have so many plans but feeling a bit skint...
we hired a villa in France when Toby was 4 months but it was too far from everywhere. The pool was lovely but not heated so he only went in it a few times.
Last summer we went to Cornwall and stayed in the same Holiday house that Gwyneth Paltrow and family had stayed in the week before (claim to fame). We went with my sister and BIL and their baby so we had a 18mth old, a 4mth old and a 6wk old baby!! It was great fun!
So still thinking about this year.

frenchleave · 05/02/2007 21:39

Hi all, busy busy busy!

No interest in food here either. Maybe it's an 18th July jinx?! T can be persuaded to take a couple of micro-spoonfuls of some puree or other but then thinks it's a real lark to blow carrot raspberries across the room. He seems happier sucking on a chunk of pear or banana, that is until a piece breaks off and he starts gagging and then crying! So he's not getting a whole lot of nutrition from food.

Since everyone's at it here are the first ever photos of T , but only for a short time as the pic of me is horrid! And my lovely DH didn't think to take a single other shot of me with my son the whole five days we were in hospital

Soph - this year's holiday is a big gite with pool on the coast (of France, naturally ) with us five, my parents, my brother & SIL and their 2 kiddies. Can't wait!

FirstAtForty · 05/02/2007 21:45

Hi Girls
Don't have any taken in delivery room as it was all a bit sudden so no camera, but these were the first ones at a few hours old.

Also showing for a short time only...

HumphreysCorner · 05/02/2007 22:22

These pics are just great-getting broody again

Talking of darlings-went to Tescos earlier and DD1 decided to stand still and refused to follow me, kept telling me to walk on. So, I said to come here now several times then counted to 3. Said come here now a few more times and in the end with lots of people watching I marched up to her and smacked her bottom so she yelled. Will probably be arrested tomorrow!

No hols again this year-that will be 5 years running

Here's hoping for a peaceful night.

LOL, glad I'm not the only one who hates the piccie of themself. It's such a shame isn't it? But all of yours are lovely - don't know what you're worried about!

madness · 06/02/2007 10:02

well, dd2 is from 24th July and also not interested in food. So reassuring to read she isn't the only one. Yesterday left her with CM again and during the 9 hours she drank 2 oz of EBM...

pinkdolly · 06/02/2007 10:04

Hi girls,

I wrote a long message to you all yesterday and dont know what I have done, But it isn't there now. Never mind.

Things are a little bit better here. DD1's ear infection is clearing up so less whinging. But Jazz now has a sticky eye, wandering whether to add conjuctivitus to me impressive list of ailments so far this year.

Soph- Jazz has 2 teeth at the bottom. I'm guite surprised because b4 the teeth came she was biting down really hard on my nipple and I was dreading the teeth coming through. But since they have she hasn't bit me at all yet. But if I stick my finger in her mouth she does bite down.

Just as well really because I have been trying her with the odd bottle and it is not working. She gets so upset and I am so soft that I feed her myself (I get upset too, what am I like).

Jazz is finally eating better, hurrah. I was getting a bit worried that she wouldnt take anything but breast milk, but she is doing ok now. Still small steps tho.

She still cant sit up on her own yet, is she the last?

HC- Congrats on your weight loss, you are doing really well. I think I have lost about 5/6 pounds in the last 2 weeks, and managed to fit into a pair of size 12 trousers.

Hope you are all well, I wont attempt to reply to everyone. I think my post is long anough already (lol).

Ok, Have a good day.

frenchleave · 06/02/2007 10:09

Don't worry Pink, T isn't sitting up yet either. So it's not just boys that are lazy then (my theory, now blown out of the water ).

Lysettes · 06/02/2007 10:15

we have all had sickness bug all weekend! poor Jacob woke up at around midnight on friday (thank goodness I didn't have more than one baileys!) throwing up and then proceeded to throw up all weekend. he's fine now, but seeingthe poor little man power vomit out of his nose as well sorry TMI!

the photos of you all are lovely - jacob at fourdays and one to show how small hewas

and here's him a weekago

no photos of me I'm afraid - I looked too terrible - and can't inflict that on you all!

lol everyone - what a beautiful day today - crisp and clear and bright.

off to nz on sunday and summer holiday is to thailand - we booked it for last year and then i wasn't allowed to fly because of the pre-eclampsia

HumphreysCorner · 06/02/2007 11:23

Lysettes-how horrid having a sickness bug. Had a bout of it myself in November but you still have to carry on. Hope you are all better for your travels. Oh, and am sure you looked as glamorous as everyone else after the birth.

pink-Sophie's sticky eye took a full week to go using the ointment 3 times a day. I too am suprised that Sophie's 2 teeth (which are only just through) don't hurt too much when BF. Made the mistake of leaving my finger in there too long the other day-ouch! Well done getting in your size 12's Can't remember when I last got in my size 12 clothes (still have size 10's in my wardrobe too). Hoping they might fit for the Christening in May.

Got an awful feeling that Sophie might be coming down with yet another cold-if so it will take the amount of time she has been poorly to 3 weeks-catching up with you pink! Keeping my fingers crossed.

Have been quite domesticated and done some cleaning. My hands are now in desperate need of hand cream as they have cracked open. Best I don't clean any more

Have a good day all!

morning girls. Lovely photos everyone. Maewest I think you look fab.

I am 32 tomorrow. How depressing.

Beef stroganoff was okaaaaaaaay but nothing I'd serve at a dinner party. (Yeah like I'd ever cook for a dinner party) Trying chicken risotto next.

Lysettes it's gorgeous here too today. Been at play gropu this monring, now DS1 is sleeping, but we will go for a long walk this afternoon methinks.

Our holiday is a week in a caravan near Bridport in Dorset, then a week at a family type caravan place, you know the sort of place, the kind of destination you would rather eat your arm off than stay at unless you had small children.... God help us. Thailand sounds much more appealing. We went to Phuket for our honeymoon, (or Fuckit as my grandpa used to call it) and it was fantastic.

I am in my pre-preg skinny jeans today. I would be lying if I said they were the epitome of comfort, but nevertheless I AM IN THEM!!!

My sister went back to work today. End of an era.

Toby is not sitting either.

Speak soon.

Bloss

bloss happy birthday for tomorrow as with my head like a sieve i am bound to forget tomorrow!

jacob had another vomity session this afternoon but in general he is much better - fingers crossed it stays that way. am thinking it might be better just to feed him milk on the plane rather than risk solids - what do you all think?

thailand would be great for our summer holiday except PIl are coming along! not only do we spend 3 weeks with them this time around in NZ, but they have managed to gate crash our summer family holiday as well . I know they need to spend time with jacob and they won't get to see him much but I just feel that we aren't going to be able to relax properly on either of the holidays - am i being too selfish?

jacob is not sitting on his own either.

HC you'd be surprised how awful i looked - i actually don't have any pictures of me after the birth because i was wired up to so many drips and monitors - i was totally doped up as well - apparently i was gibbering for 24 hours afterwards .

Jacob on the start of a winge - must dash!

FirstAtForty · 06/02/2007 18:33

Hi Girls ? just a quick catch up from me, hope everyone?s doing okay. Sounds like there are lots of nasty bugs about tho? still .

Happy Birthday for tomorrow Bloss , hope you have a good day!

Great to see everyone?s birth pics, they do bring a tear to the eye don?t they!

We?re not too bad here apart from DP who is moping and off work with man flu. Emma?s got lovely green snot (bleaugh) but otherwise doesn?t seem too bad. I?m so used to feeling like shit now I don?t know whether it?s due to a bug or not [martyr emoticon]

No rolling yet, sitting up?s not bad if a bit wobbly - today she hung onto the arches on her baby gym like she was riding on a bus, aaaaw.

Weaning?s still going okay, scoffing down vast quantities of fruit and veg mush and Ready Brek. She REALLY doesn?t like broccoli though, pulled a very comical face of disgust after swallowing it, before very selectively throwing JUST the broccoli back up again! Tried a bit of BLW with a Farley?s Rusk, she did gnaw it briefly before snapping it and frisbying it across the room, the dog was delighted anyway. I?m sticking with Mummy-led weaning for now, it?s less messy.

At the moment she has 2 solid feeds a day, in between bf?s (though HV was encouraging 3 meals ? not enough hours in the day though I don?t think). Still having around 7 or 8 bf?s through the day and night. All VERY time-consuming!

Well I?d better get on, another plate of mush to prepare and shovel!

Hey everyone!

Photos are lovely - everyone looks so happy!

Bloss - Happy Birthday for tomorrow - you share a birthday with DH (who is 35 tomorrow - middle aged as I keep teasing him)

HC - well done on the weightloss - 1lb off is better than 1lb on!! Totally blown the diet today as Dh had the day off so we went to Blackpool for the day - far too nice a day to be inside. Went to a Harvesters pub - never been to one before and the food was yummy! Had 2 courses, then later on had a hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows and a cake . Although, for the first time ever, I don't feel hungry tonight and think I will skip tea - I can honestly say that has never happened before!!! Going out for a meal tomorrow night aswell (3 courses no doubt)

Pink/Bloss - am also about getting into your jeans - I can't remember being a size 12 it was so long ago - even when I have lost all this weight, I won't fit into size 12 trousers!!

Josh not sitting either so he can be added to the list - he can do it if he wants to but gets fed up very easily with it and seems to prefer being on his tummy. He has started crawling properly on his tummy now though and he is very fast with it!!

Have good days tomorrow (especially you Bloss )
