Thought I had better start a new thread as the old one was about to crash

Happy 30th B'Day kbaby Wish I was 30 again but then I suppose I wouldn't even be married let alone have a house to live in or my 2 precious children. Whoops-going all sentimental now, better go!

Taking DD1 to her dance class Christmas Party so got some sarnies to be getting on with.

Happy Sunday

Just looked as yours soph, what beautiful children. I love toby's hair

soph28 · 03/02/2007 21:45

Thanks they are cute [proud mum emoticon]

Prettymum- you look amazing too.

Yours and Wallace's are the only photos I can see!

soph28 · 03/02/2007 21:46

Wallace- where abouts in Scotland are you? We're near Bathgate.

HumphreysCorner · 03/02/2007 21:50

Bloss-can't see your pics

Ceebee, soph and prettymum-makes me so emotional looking at all these pics. Ended up watching birth videos on YouTube last night and weeping silently. Asked DH why he didn't video me and his justified reply 'because you wouldn't let me'.

Well, was nearly a D I V O R C E in the HC household as DH now has man flu and we were invited along with my bro and family to my mum and dad's for our annual Turkey Dinner. He announced this morning that he wasn't going because he didn't feel like being sociable. So, I reminded him that I have been poorly for 2 weeks and have had to carry on looking after the children while he stayed at work every night and weekend and I still had to go out with the in-laws last Sunday even though I was ill. Ended up crying which made DD1 cry and say 'I love you mummy' repeatedly. Anyway, at 2-30pm was leaving to go and he was still sat on the sofa so we had a massive row and he did end up coming and enjoyed himself.

Really feel emotional at the moment and likely to burst into tears at any time. Am going to take the girls out tomorrow as I need new bedding and I am not cooking Sunday Dinner either!

Hope you are all OK.

HC- I hate days like that. Aren't men babies when they are ill! They just don't understand that we just have to get on with things however we feel. Oh to be able to lie in bed all day and have someone bring you lemsips...

I have days when I'm really emotional too. Hope you have a much better day tomorrow.

Must go to bed now, night all.

prettymum · 03/02/2007 22:14

HC- {{{{{{{hugs}}}}}} hope you feel better tomorrow! it doesnt matter how ill we are, we are still axpec ted to get on with daily routines- but men, they want the whole world to revolve around them!

IamBlossom · 04/02/2007 19:04

how annoying that some of you can't see pics......don't know what to do to change it....where is KZ when you need her??

Soph your kids are beautiful.

HC my DH does that all the time. Drags his feet so badly when it is my family we have to see, expects skipping and jumping when it is his family.

Good day today. Did some retail shopping at the market, bought some fake Ug boots and a red coat, i am such a pikey....

Wallace, Toby spent 24 hours in Special Care as they gave him AB cos he was grunty when he came out, whatever the hell that means....

HC - bless your DD1 - men can be so awkward and pathetic sometimes - hope things are a bit better today.

Weekly weigh-in - lost 2 lbs so total loss 11 lbs. Was hoping for my stone next week but as it is DH's birthday on Wednesday and we are also going out for the day on Tuesday, I will be having 2 big meals this week so will aim to reach a stone in a fortnight.

Both me and Josh have got stinking colds and coughs - only seems like yesterday that we got over the ones we had before Christmas.

Used Medised for the first time last night - Josh slept like a baby!! Do you think parents use it even when their lo doesn't have a cold???

HumphreysCorner · 04/02/2007 20:37

Hi ladies

Much better day today thank goodness-DH seems to have 'forgotten' the incident. I however am an elephant and never forget.

Last night was horrendous. Sophie woke at the same time she has done for the past 2 weeks 2-15am coughing terribly. So, I BF her (as per usual when she wakes) as I figure it will help ease the cough. She carried on coughing for hours so I had to keep jumping out of bed, sit her up and pat her back. Did another feed at 4-30am. Am shattered. Just hope that when she is better she won't still wake for a feed. What with DD1 screaming in her sleep (can't tell which one is wittering as they sound the same) and DH blowing his nose really loudly all night-well, one could run away!

Ceebee-you are doing fab. Don't know about losing this week due to us eating at mum and dad's on Saturday night. Tends to show on the scales 2 days later. Have been for a walk this afternoon but wasn't exactly a power walk as DD1 drags her feet. Hope you both feel better soon.

Chilled out thoughts to you all.

OK here goes, I am posting the dreaded post-birth photo - those of a nervous disposition should not open the link. That's what 3 + hours of pushing does to you! This will be available for 48 hours only after which I am deleting the picture from the Truprint site.

To counterbalance this dreadful photo I am posting three other shots featuring Aidan and me that I quite like.

20 minutes after Aidan was born - eek

HumphreysCorner · 04/02/2007 20:50

Twinkle-aw, so lovely. Would like to know how some of you became topless as the midwife just lifted my nightie up.

OP posts:
Twinklemegan · 04/02/2007 20:53

HC, it is so NOT lovely but thanks for saying it anyway! I have no recollection whatsoever of how I became topless. I know I wasn't during labour - I would have been probably if DH hadn't kept reminding me that I had told him to make sure I kept my dignity. I think maybe my T-shirt was covered in gunk and the pint of blood that I lost (TMI sorry!)

Ceebee74 · 04/02/2007 20:57

Twinkle - those photos are fab - I really love the 6-week old one. Aiden looks so peaceful!

Just been reading the thread about PIL coming to stay after the birth - I go cold just at the thought of it!! Poor woman.

HumphreysCorner · 04/02/2007 21:00

soph28 · 04/02/2007 21:30

Twinkle- your photos are great. Both you and Aiden look fab!

My PIL cam to stay when Chloe was a week old- it was exhausting. I was standing in the kitchen preparing meals and tidying up whilst suffering from no sleep, loss of blood, a week old baby and a 16mth toddler!

hi,
loving the photos! Dont have my bookmark to the site where I usually put pics for viewing on this computer, so can't add just yet.
My boy said his first word about an hour ago!!! He said "baba" whilst I was in the bath. Did get tears in my eyes silly me.

HumphreysCorner · 05/02/2007 11:19

Morning ladies

DH reckoned Sophie said Dada not sure what to believe. Bet you did have tears Sleep

Sophie makes noises but no real word sounds as such but then DD1 was v. late saying them. But, Sophie must be growing as all of a sudden her 0-3 month sleepsuit is too short so she will be going in a 3-6 month one tonight.

kayzed-lovely to hear from you and see your pic but I'm sorry, it isn't you in the pic. In my mind you don't look like that so everytime I see your pic I'm actually seeing someone else

The LCD on my WW Points scales went funny so couldn't see some of the letters and numbers so phoned them. They said they would send a replacement and I was to send them back. Was just packing them but tested them again and they are fine again! Doh! Wonder if they got cold in the night-better get them a hot water bottle.

Well, Sophie slept all night for the first time in what seems like ages but DD1 had me up most of the night either coughing or saying her leg hurt. Ho hum, the joys of mummyhood.

Have had my hot cup of tea (for once) as Sophie is zonked out so better go and do something. Have my house insurance annual renewal to pay on line so will catch you later.

KZ - you look lovely and Roshi looks so tiny - bless! (Great to here from you!)

Is anyone else struggling with solids? Josh just doesn't seem bothered about them at all and will have a couple of mouthfuls and then shut up shop. Please tell me I am not alone in this? I am fed up of hearing my friends with similarish age babies telling me how their lo's are gobbling everything in sight and on 3 meals a day plus puddings when I am throwing so much stuff away every day! Wondering about going down the BLW route - just given him some sticks of cheese to play with but I guess I need to look into it properly.

soph28 · 05/02/2007 11:59

morning!

nice to see you KZ- you look great too and Rosho looks so teeny! SO jealous of you right now on your lovely hot and sunny holiday- hope you are having a fantastic time.

Chloe cried between 4 and 5am but we just left her (cruel parents)- still kept us awake though. she was all smiles when I went into her at 7.30am though.

Still can't get Chloe to eat any purees or yogurt or baby porridge but she happily chomped down sponge cake yesterday. So far she has eaten: custard, scrambled egg, brown bread, a chocolate button and sponge cake! Basically everything that she's not supposed to have.

soph28 · 05/02/2007 12:03

x post Ceebee! We obviously have like minded children. I don't even bother giving her food everyday anymore cos it's such a waste- I just try her every few days with something. Think I am going to go down the BLW route with her, it's just she's not really ready to start it because she still hasn't got enough motor control to finger feed. She managed to hold a rusk yesterday and brought it to her mouth a couple of times- that's the best she's managed. I just think she's a slow developer and not ready for it yet- am trying to be chilled about it!!

prettymum · 05/02/2007 12:04

ceebee- junior is doing exactly that! he'll just taste the food and thats it no more food! in toddler group theres another 6 month old who happily eats all his food and still wants more milk afterwards! just have to keep trying i guess.

soph28 · 05/02/2007 12:45

meant Roshi not Rosho! oops
