Thought I had better start a new thread as the old one was about to crash

Happy 30th B'Day kbaby Wish I was 30 again but then I suppose I wouldn't even be married let alone have a house to live in or my 2 precious children. Whoops-going all sentimental now, better go!

Taking DD1 to her dance class Christmas Party so got some sarnies to be getting on with.

Happy Sunday

Hi Girls

HC ? god those bloody charts, they are sent to try us aren?t they! I had to laugh re your comment about the dwarves, but only because I was sitting there last night thinking exactly the same thing (about Emma, of course)! I was fretting ?gosh, her arms and legs do look quite short in comparison to her body? ? but then gave myself a slap ? of course they bloody do, she?s a BABY ffs!!

The same thing has happened to my thumbnail too ? nails are shot to pieces at the moment compared to their pregnancy loveliness.

Emma still isn?t rolling, she does tripod sitting with her hands on the floor in front of her, but keels over sideways pretty quickly. I mentioned to the girls at nursery that she seemed slow at moving about, they said there were some there a few months older than her who didn?t move much more than she did so that was reassuring I suppose. They said she is a ?watcher? and very nosy ? she just sits looking around her taking everything in. So maybe sitting around on your arse is genetic lol.

Re iron ? I think it is something to do with by after 6 months they have used up their bodily store of iron, so it does need supplementing either through formula milk or diet or drops/tablets.

Ceebee ? glad your return to work has been okay and that Josh has settled well at nursery Re head clunking, don?t worry, it must happen a lot! I felt v guilty last night when Emma nutted my laptop ? she was sitting on the sofa in front of me while I was web surfing, and just suddenly keeled over frontwards and slammed her head on it

Sympathies to those struggling with toddlers, echo what Ceebee said re having two, can?t imagine it. There would be no way I?d be going out to work if I had two ? perfect excuse as we couldn?t afford two sets of nursery fees anyway

Madness ? glad your first day wasn?t as bad as anticipated {{hugs}} and hope it gets easier.

Cake ? gosh full time, poor you, that must be really hard. Hope the childminder works out well xx

Re weight ? I have finally started to lose a little bit, must be because of going back to work ? my fridge and I are forcibly separated for at least some of the time

Emma is napping like a demon on her non-nursery days, she seems positively grateful to go to bed ? dump and run still working its magic (for the time being anyway), it has even started to work at night, though she is still waking up for feeds (usually 11, 3, 6 ish)

Kbaby ? sorry this is a few days on but was very sad to read about your cat, what a horrible thing to happen

Well better get on ? sorry for v long post, lots of catching up to do! xx

HC - Sophie is perfect, don't worry I did have to have a chuckle a fewposts ago when you said you had to have a smear because it was more than 3 years since yuor last one and you had to go and see the vicar on monday night... I wondered why you needed to have your smear done before seeing the vicar

We were back at the doc today and he reckons Leo has had Bronchiolitis. He wants to see him again next week to check his chest. He has been so clingy while he is unwell, hence the quick, badly typed posts!

ceebee - Our HV is really cool and if your child has bash in front of her she will make a joke along the lines of "At least I saw that happen so I don't have to report you to the SS for beating your child up"

Wallace · 30/01/2007 17:50

First - re the rolling. Leo can, but doesn't.. I think he is a watcher too.

HumphreysCorner · 30/01/2007 18:10

Thanks girls

Crikey, anyone ever tried putting eye ointment on a baby. She shuts her eyes tightly and pushes me away-nearly poked her eye out poor girl.

Went looking at MN archives re small head circumference and the first thing I came across is that it is a sign of Cerebal Palsay! Really, really must stop investigating.

Wallace-bronchiolitis sounds nasty, poor little Leo. All our little ones are suffering The Dr did say Sophie will be sicklier than DD1 due to all the bugs DD1 is fetching home but it is better she gets them out of the way before she goes to nursery at 2 and a bit years. LOL at the Vicar bit.

Well, Sophie has been bathed and is now in bed dosed up and her matress is propped up. She is off food and milk so will be shrinking even more.

Having a wine before my tea. DD1 is at MIL's as per every Tuesday. DH is always late leaving work to pick her up so MIL has threatened to bring her home. This would be a disaster as Tuesday is Holby night followed by Five Days and MIL doesn't just dump and run she outstays her welcome.

Forgot to say, when I was driving to the Drs I passed MIL's car and DD1 was sat in the back and when I looked in my rear view mirror she was craning her neck to see me-bless her.

I do laugh and laugh at your posts HC, bless your cotton socks. I am so sorry Sophie is poorly, that is totally rotten and your HV sounds positively inept, and please don't worry about her dear little head, but I laughed out loud at your comment about wishing you hadn't watched the priordial dwafrism prgramme, I am fairly confident Sophie hasn't got that. I love the way you measure your weeks by the TV progs you watch, I do that too, looking forward to 5 days tonight.

F@F you are always a dead cert to get me giggling too - at Emma nutting your laptop, and that she takes after you in liking to sit on her fat arase, HAR HAR HAR!!

DS1 continues to test me - ran about at my M&Ds this afternoon hitting everyone with a wooden spoon. I did tell my mum he would do that if she gave hm a wooden spoon, but it fell on deaf ears. he's just so OBSTREPOROUS lately, all of a sudden, never used to be like this. I had to literally FIGHT him into his clothes this morning to get to playgroup, singing Balamory all the while so I didn't shout. I do try and ignore as much of it as I can, but being hit is something I can't ignore, so he is seeing alot of the downstairs loo at the moment..... I either want to kiss him or give him away at the moment, no in between.

Toby did 6pm till 6am last night so baby rice mixed with baby rice plus more carbs worked yesterday. Will let you know if it does tonight too....

I will go swimming tomorrow night I will go swimming tomorrow night, I will go swimming tomorrow night....

Must admit that I had a snigger at the smear test/vicar juxtaposition myself HC .

Sleeping at night still going fairly well here (9ish until 6.30am last night) and he had nap of 1.5 hrs this morning . Crappy catnap in the afternoon, but was out at a meeting at the time (boobed him down and he snoozed in his carseat). Really must get to grips with this weaning malarky too, turned his nose up at sweet potato today, don't think he was in the mood, seems to prefer food if he thinks he's nicked it from me and not supposed to have it - as bad as the bloody cat!

CakeandFineWine · 30/01/2007 20:15

Gosh ladies
I forgot how much you lot can talk!!!!

Sort of caught up on your posts but can never remember r have time to feed back to you all!
Feel like my feet never touch the ground!

DP on nights at the mo so will hopefully have time for a proper catch up and better post tomorrow or the night after!

Oh.........it looks like I may be having a new job too........In a new team setting up OT in an Early intervention for psychosis team which would be exciting and a change from the setting I'm in {{{{{only been back for a month}}}

prettymum · 30/01/2007 22:42

i envy all you whose babies are sleeping through!!

last night junior took a while to settle for bed and he seems to do that everynight now! then when dp and i were getting in the mood to do the deed both dd and junior decided to wake and need comforting for nearly another hour!! but we managed to catch up in the middle of the night!

wallace- i hope leo gets better soon! {{hugs}}

blosson- dd does the same thing when im trying to dress her, i end up locking her legs between mine to stop her running off and she just screams 'i got you' repeatedly!!(sp?)
but dd is so sweet, when she sees other kids she says hello to them and then goes to junior and shows him off to them! its so lovely and funny to see her be motherly towards him!

i'd better get off, middle of cleaning, was just letting the floor dry, better go and scrub the bathroom clean!

kbaby · 30/01/2007 22:51

Twinklemegan- DS is the same with feeding. Hes ok if hes in his bouncy chair but if I feed him in the highchair or bumbo he spends most of the time turning his head to look at everything while I try and scoop food in. I still don?t think he?s even got the hang of eating yet as most of the food seems to come back out of his mouth.
Pinkdolly at your HV. Surely its upto you if you want to contine feeding jas at night. If your happy doing it then wahts the bother! And DS is 6 months on Friday and he still feeds twice a night, 1am ish and 4amish. I have heard that about multivits but mainly due to their iron reserves getting low after 6 months if they are on solids there is no need to give vits.

DD is being a monster this week. She is answering you back and if I tell her off she tells me off and will then say ? im going to chuck you in the bin? she is ignoring me, hitting me and taking toys off DS and then the next minute is as good as gold and an angel.
Had to have a chuckle on Saturday though, She mustve taken a pantyliner from the bathroom because when we were in asda she stuck it to her eyes and pretended it was a blindfold shouting Daddy I cant see you. DH kindly wandered off and pretended he wasn?t with us.

HC- sophie sounds to me as if she is in proportion shes just weeny that?s all. And never google anything because youll think she has everything. I get convinced that every headache I have is a brain tumor

Wallace- DS had broncolitis in November and didn?t need any treatment but it hung around for a while and even now he still has quite a chesty cough that doesn?t seem to be going. I hope Leo is better soon.

Right best be off to bed as DD has woken 3 times already tonight so I think its going to be a bad one!

Beadmum · 30/01/2007 22:57

HC - try not to worry, cant believe your hv and the gp though, you would think they would reassure you, not make you worry un-necessarily. best to stop the investigating, it does just make you worry more. Hope sophie is feeling better soon. Charlotte has still never rolled yet(unless I count the phantom roll she did at pil last week

prettymum · 30/01/2007 23:55

kabay- lol at dd and pantyliner! when they do things like that, you wonder how you can ever be mad at them!

prettymum · 30/01/2007 23:56

oops meant kbaby

HumphreysCorner · 31/01/2007 14:15

kbaby-my DD1 says I'm going to put you in the dustbin as an answer to everything. I don't know where they get it from. LOL at the pantyliner-bet you secretly died of embarassment. Your DD sounds identical to mine.

Sophie is still barking but her eyes seem a bit better so I must be getting some of the ointment in her eyes.

Have been to Tescos and have managed to get them both in bed for a nap. Feel tired due to 3am wake up calls from Sophie (not DH like you prettymum ) Don't know where you get the energy from and you go to bed late.

Have a good day and byee for now.

Har har har Kbaby, can just picture DH's aghast face.

Pretty that sounds familiar - Dh and I were gettingready last night too, then T kicked off. Only for half an hour though so we managed to complete our mission. It was a close shave though, you've got to catch me in the mood these days or it's game over.......

Lysettes · 31/01/2007 14:58

hi everyone!

been a manic few days and so many posts to try and catch up on!

HC - you mustn't wory, sophie looks absolutely wonderful and as someone else said (sorry my brain is shot with one of a succession of bad headaches) you mustn't try and research yourself as you'll think she has everything

and who's lo is waking at around 2 for a feed again now? Jacob has decided that he will fall asleep straight after his bath at 7pm, then wake up half an hour later and want some more food.....and then sleep till 430 then want food. And we're all starting colds and runny noses so shattered.

On the feeding front avocado and peaches are now firm favourites, along with strawberry yoghurt. we have also (is this too early someone advise please?) got him on some pureed pork with apple, potato and carrot - he is loving it though and it doesn't seem to be doing anything bad to his digestion - today's new flavour is going to be sweetcorn I think...

see you all soon - it's a beautiful day here bright blud sky and the sun is out!

HumphreysCorner · 31/01/2007 15:26

Lysettes-it is fine to puree your own food from day 1.

Hey all

Am sat at work bored counting down until 5pm and I can go and pick Josh! I have nothing to do so I guess tomorrow and Friday are going to be the same! makes me miss him even more!

Pretty/bloss - how are you even in the mood?? I can;t remember the last time I got the urge - DH has to really nag me otherwise don't think I could be bothered

HC - ignore the HV - I am sure they are put on this earth to worry mothers unnecessarily! I am sure sophie is absolutely perfect

pinkdolly · 31/01/2007 17:20

Hey!

I.m sorry I haven't even read all of your posts today. I just needed to come on and vent for a bit. (if you dont mind)

I had dd1 awake crying most of the night with earache. Went to the doc's this morning and both ears are infected. I'm so tired and finding it really hard to cope at the moment. I am snappy and emotional and literally dont know how much more I can take.

DD2 got ill with chicken pox on new years eve and I swear I have not had a good nights sleep or a non- whingy day since then. It's been one illness after the other, with no break in between.

This month has seen us with chicken pox. Cheast infection, glue ear, ear infection. Coughs and colds.

Please tell me it's gonna get better.

On a positive note, Jazz decided to eat again for the first time since being ill, hurray for small triumphs.

pinkdolly, poor you.
the other day I was getting up and counting the hours that I could go back to bed.

dd2 still not interested in food...

IamBlossom · 01/02/2007 12:54

poor pink dolly, sending you lots of restful, blissful sleep vibes.

DS1 still being an angel/monster, really yelled at him coming out of playgroup this morning as he took off across the car park at a rate of knots. Smacked him again this morning as he ransacked my bedside table drawer for literally the fifteenth time, after being repeatedly told to stop it, he knows he is not allowed in there. felt like a complete bitch from hell, but it did the trick. Sigh. My image of myself as a reasonable, intelligent, rational human being goes right out the window in those moments, and I really don't like myself. Then he gives me a kiss and we get on with things. Up and down, up and down, up and down...

Did go swimming last night, good Blossom.

Toby still sleeping well, thank goodness. Would only eat his lunch today if I picked him up and fed him like that, but then ate the lot, so if that's what it takes....
