Thought I had better start a new thread as the old one was about to crash

Happy 30th B'Day kbaby Wish I was 30 again but then I suppose I wouldn't even be married let alone have a house to live in or my 2 precious children. Whoops-going all sentimental now, better go!

Taking DD1 to her dance class Christmas Party so got some sarnies to be getting on with.

Happy Sunday

HC - think it's really quiet without KZ

Hi usandnosleep, I'm sure Zack is fine, if its any consolation, we STILL haven't been discharged officially by the paed as they keep doing follow-up blood tests (all related to his jaundice in early days). Every so often they phone me up and say Mrs DH, your son hasn;t got this or that orrible disease. His weight gain has been fine, but they still make me feel sometimes that I might be missing something (new mother paranoia). Then I look at him giggling away and trying to cram a sunday supplement in his mouth and I think, nah, my boy's ok. And my name isn't Mrs DH, it's Ms Maewest, but I'm a hairylegged feminist about that so...

Ceebee74 · 01/02/2007 13:13

HC - don't feel lonely!! We are all here (though it is quieter without KZ isn't it?? )

Pink - hope things pick up soon - just think things can only get better from here.

Feeling quite sad at the moment as I have just found out that somebody i know little boy died at the weekend and another one's little girl has leukemia (sp?) - kind of puts things in perspective doesn't it?

Josh got his fingers trapped under the door at nursery yesterday - they aren't hurt but hopefully it will teach him not to go near doors again! Though, a bit uncomfortable about how he was able to wriggle over to the door without anyone watching him - should i be concerned do you think? If he was at home, I wouldn't be watching him all the time but should I expect them to??

Ceebee74 · 01/02/2007 13:14

x post there Mae!

kbaby · 01/02/2007 14:19

Pink- I hope things improve for you and feb isn?t such a shity month. Were all here for you.

I have DD by the side of me putting on eyeshadow and lipstick. The lipstick is around her lips like a clown, very nice!
Us- DS isn?t that much heavier at 15 lbs something. The HV said to us not to worry about the weight unless it drops more than 2 centiles. Im not sure if that is what Zack has already done but you?ve said hes such a wriggler that he must just be burning all those calories off.

DS has a cold and so has been a bit whingy today and MIL asked us yesterday that did we know he has a cross eye! Now were examining ecvery picture to see as we hadn?t noticed it before but she is right. His right eye has a tendency to be in the corner by his nose.

Iamblos- Its days like those that im almost glad to go to work. Ive told DD off numerous times today at playgroup for deliberately taking toys off the smaller children and pushing grgg..

SleepIsForTheWeak · 01/02/2007 14:22

Hi all,

Haven't been on in a while - my computer died
Hope I can retrieve his photos - let this be a lesson to you all, ladis - BACK UP YOUR PHOTOS!

We are fine, S has had a little bit of a cold, nothing too bad. He has a constant ruver of drool running down his face, poor thing. Weaning going good, likes most of his food, also waking up anytime between 2 and 4 for a top up.

Off to SA in 2 week s cannot wait!
Hope you and your LOs are all ok.

HC, are YOU still out there?
Pinkdolly - hope you are feeling better, I can barely cope with one!

x

Sleep - Please Do Not Talk About Dying!!!

Thank You.

skay · 01/02/2007 15:29

FIL Not very Well.

HumphreysCorner · 01/02/2007 16:16

skay- I am so, so sorry to hear that. Is it an illness that has come on suddenly? Sending virtual hugs to you and your family. ((((((((xxxxxxxx))))))))

Sleep-been there, done that and got the T-Shirt with PC photos and so has my mum. This is the main reason I still use my trusty camera with a film in it so that I have some pictures in an album. Really know how you feel. I had started writing a novel and all that was lost too along with 2 short stories I had written and sent in to women's mags. Weren't accepted though-doh!

kbaby-don't quote me on this but isn't lazy eyes common in babies until they strengthen their eye muscles? Makes them look cross eyed.

Bloss-well done going swimming. I can't take Sophie to baby swim class tomorrow because of her being poorly. Don't feel bad about a little smack. Sometimes, it is the only language DD1 understands.

Ceebee-hope Josh's fingers are OK. Poor lad. They do try and watch them all the time at nurseries. He will be fine. A lad that works with DH has a new girlfriend that fell PG immediately and was expecting twins. Unfortunately they had that twin to twin transfusion (?) thing which is quite rare as they share the same placenta. Anyway, she was rushed in for an emergency C-Section on Tuesday due to pre-eclampsia at 20 something weeks and had twin boys. Sadly one died yesterday. Makes you think doesn't it.

us-love the typing. Why oh why do HV and Drs frighten us so. Sophie is only 15lb 2oz at 31 weeks. Can't remember how many weeks Zack is? I am going to go once a month to have her weighed.

maewest-you are being messed about too by the sound of it.

Infact, hugs to all of us. Off to get Sophie some tea. She is loving bananas-can't believe she is eating whole ones mashed up. DD1 couldn't even manage 1/2 of one at this stage and she was a chubster.

DH going to be late home again.

HC - He has had diabetes for ages but over the last 4yrs has been getting worse. Lately he has been diagnosed(sp?) with bowel cancer.

prettymum · 01/02/2007 17:55

skay- {{{{{hugs}}}} to you and your family. 2 of my bestfriends(twins), theyre dad is very ill and has been given few months to live, his kidneys are failing and they cant operate as he is very weak. just have to stay strong for them xx

ceebee- hope josh's fingers are ok! one little boy in toddler group had his thumb caaught in the door by another kid last friday, he had to have it operated on as it got fractured and the whole nail came off!! his mum couldnt handle the sight of her boy in pain, all the other mums had to take him to doctors!! she couldnt even cuddle him!

pinkdolly {{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}} hope things settle down for you soon! just think all this will be over and done with soon, you will get some sleep soon!

junior still not interested in food. he just chews on our food at the moment. he refuses mashed up food! havent had him weighed in a while now, but he is getting chubbier everday!

better get off, he needs a cuddle!

HumphreysCorner · 01/02/2007 18:36

Oh skay-that is so especially if he is still quite young. ((xx))

Well, DD1 had an afternoon nap and woke up just as I was bathing Sophie. She was wet through for some reason so said she would have to get in with Sophie. She then had a force 10 paddy. Screeched at me and hit out and said she wasn't going to eat my spag bol that I made this morning. She only wanted Beebies and milk. I said no to Beebies due to unacceptable (yes, I can say it properly unlike Supernanny ) behaviour so gave her milk and have put her to bed at the same time as Sophie without tea. Anyway, on the way up she asked if I was having spag bol on my own (DH at work late) so I told her I wasn't going to bother. She then had the nerve to say she would have tea if spag wasn't being served! I told her we would be having it tomorrow instead so she wasn't getting away with it that easily-little madam. Her and food are a horror story but I don't give in as she ends up eating spag bol every time saying yummy all the way through. 3 year olds, don't you just love them.

Sooooo, here I am sat on my own with a Blossom Hill liquid tea. Pure amber nectar

sorry

usandnosleep · 01/02/2007 19:14

Bloss-{{{hugs}}} Don't be so hard on yourself.

Mae- Thanks for the reassurance, it helps to know Mummy paranoia is normal

Ceebe-news
Accidents happen so quickly, Zack was sat between my legs last week and fell flat on his nose before I could catch him.

Kbaby- at your dd!!
Zack has dropped nearly 3 centiles so I can understand their concern. I think he is absolutely fine but their is always that niggly doubt at the back of my mind.

Sleep- hello I was wondering about you. No computer

Skay- sorry to hear about your FIL {{hugs}}

HC- Because they are evil, wicked people who like to torture Mums in clinics across the land. Zack is 28/29 weeks.

Pretty- Junior obviously knows what he likes and he's sticking with it!!

HumphreysCorner · 01/02/2007 19:31

us-our cherubs are about the same as Soph would probably have been 14lb something at 29/29 weeks.

OP posts:
HumphreysCorner · 01/02/2007 19:32

Doh-meant 28/29. It's that wine again

OP posts:
usandnosleep · 01/02/2007 19:42

can I have some

And our little cherubs couldn't be more perfect could they? I can't believe how much I love him, I hope he never leaves home!

Ceebee74 · 01/02/2007 21:14

Skay - big hugs to you - how awful for you. Hope your FIL improves.

HC - can I have some wine aswell??

Had a nightmare journey home tonight - it took 2 hours to do a 25 minute journey cos a tanker decided to set on fire on the motorway and block up the entire system - the nursery shuts at 6 so I had to ask MIL to pick Josh up (something I really really never wanted to do!) and she had to sit in the car with him (as she doesn't have a house key) till I got there at 7 - plus he has got a cough so she was wittering on about that when I got there. Good thing was that he was crying when I got there and cheered up as soon as he saw me - I must have taught him well

Just downloaded some piccies (must back them - thanks for the tip Mae!) so thought I would share some with you

josh in his nest (that he can climb out of!)

josh eating his spoon

Am interviewing tomorrow at work so must dig out a power suit to terrify the candidates!

usandnosleep · 01/02/2007 21:51

So cute, he has beautiful eyes!
My DS climbs out of his too, he then scrambles across the floor to pull papers and magazines from under the coffee table.
Time to baby-proof the house I think!

Wallace · 01/02/2007 22:00

hugs to skay xxx and big sympathies to pink xxx

josh is so lovely. Am impressed that your babies can climb out Leo just sits in his, or lies down. We only got it a couple of weeks ago, so maybe he needs practice

Poor Leo is still not well, but not really "ill" either. Just miserable and clingy. Hardly sleeping at all, and spends a large proportion of the night feeding or propped up on my chest with me leaning against pillows. I think he struggles to breathe a bit lying down. His voice is still not right, and he has a pathetic little cry. I want my happy happy baby back...

Twinklemegan · 01/02/2007 22:01

Aidan's not climbed out of his nest yet, but he tipped himself out of his bumbo yesterday!

Wallace · 01/02/2007 22:02

hope he wasn't hurt! thought they were supposed to be untippable?

Twinklemegan · 01/02/2007 22:05

Meant to say gorgeous pics Ceebee. And Wallace, we x posted - I do hope Leo gets better soon.

Aidan's been eating much better again the last few days - now firmly established on three meals. Has still been taking around 27 - 29oz of milk as well but hasn't had nearly as much today. I'm a bit worried that I'm overfeeding him - I'm so concerned about him getting plenty of milk. But then he's still wanting a feed at 11pm ish - presumably he wouldn't wake hungry if I was feeding him too much in the daytime? The HV's coming tomorrow and I'll be getting him weighed so hopefully all will become clear...

Twinklemegan · 01/02/2007 22:06

He didn't exactly tip it Wallace. He leaned and leaned, put his hand down, extracted his legs, landed on his head then rolled on his back lol! He was trying to pick up his water filled pat mat thingy!

HumphreysCorner · 01/02/2007 22:18

Wallace-sounds similar to what Sophie has got. She is worse at night when lying down even though I have propped the mattress up.
