Thought I had better start a new thread as the old one was about to crash

Happy 30th B'Day kbaby Wish I was 30 again but then I suppose I wouldn't even be married let alone have a house to live in or my 2 precious children. Whoops-going all sentimental now, better go!

Taking DD1 to her dance class Christmas Party so got some sarnies to be getting on with.

Happy Sunday

I don't think so- how do I make them public?

Roshi sounds so cute- 21lbs! That's brilliant!! Makes me smile just thinking about her. She probably won't weigh that much mor than that by the time she's 18mths.

soph28 · 15/01/2007 21:39

ok have made them public. Can you see them now?

Willnbel · 15/01/2007 21:41

kayzed...
Is she really hungry at five? William wakes up at six thirty but chatters and will not cry for food till about half seven although i feed him before that. I give him weetabix and a good dose of milk. So its

7 to 730 weetabix and milk, nap before next milk.
1030 milk
1330 lunch and desert no milk, nap
1630 tea and half milk
1900 to 1930 full milk before bed

or howabout giving a bigger tea at five and doing a big milk before bed at half seven?
having said that... I havent really got a clue and its all been pot luck with me!

Soph.. I cant see them. Do i need an account?

I can't see them I'm afraid Soph28. "tired babies only really want their bed, they just don't know it until you leave them there." I love that - you should submit it as a MN tip (mine you I've submitted a couple and they've never even made it to the tips list ).

Well I started back at work today. As expected my luuurvely female boss asked absolutely zilch about DS, how I am, how he his, etc. But actually things weren't too bad - I kind of felt like I'd never been away. In a strange sort of way I almost feel freer to really get into my job now - before when I was desperately ttc I was adamant that my job would not define who I am. Now that I'm first and foremost a mum I don't have to worry about that any more. Does that make any sense at all?

Aidan's milk intake is just going up and up, even though I'm gradually increasing his solids as well. I just don't understand it. He's started wanting a fifth feed before we go to bed and is now waking in the night for a sixth. Yesterday he downed 37 oz, plus his usual two lots of solids. FGS! My mum keeps saying - ooo he's wrapping you round his little finger, they soon learn how to get attention, etc. but he's genuinely hungry. He'll down 5 or 6 oz at 3am and still be quite hungry at 7. Do they have a growth spurt around this time (24 weeks)? I'm wondering if this is his 4 month growth spurt that he didn't have when he was poorly. Who knows...

soph28 · 15/01/2007 22:18

mmmmmm don't know why you can't see the photos- how did you manage KZ, what am I doing wrong?

Twinkle- I know exactly how you feel about going back to work. Are you back full or part time. I am now a SAHM as couldn't afford two lots of nursery fees after chloe was born.

Toby woke up once in the night every night till he was 9mths- cos he was starving. Made no difference how much he ate in the day or before bed. And he was definitely hungry- he wasn't interested in cuddling/playing etc etc. just wanted a bottle and then would immediately go straight back to sleep. Since 9mths he has slept 7-7 no problems.

Twinklemegan · 15/01/2007 22:29

Part two...

Wallace, or anyone else whose babies have/have had infant eczema, does it look like this . It's not a very clear picture I'm afraid - it's the bit near his ear that's really troublesome. He's got some on the other side as well.

If so, what do you put on it? Are the creams etc. supposed to clear it up or just stop it getting worse. I've been prescribed E45 and Aqueous cream - both seem to work for a couple of days but then it just seems to get worse again. A small area flared up quite badly a couple of weeks ago (here ) and he was scratching at it a lot making it bleed so the doctor prescribed a mild steroid cream. That really helped, but when I stopped using it after 5 days or so, as directed, it just came back again.

Everyone's pics (that I can see) are so lovely, I'd better post couple of prettier pics as well..

before his bath

having fun with food!

And it occurred to me that you've never seen him as a newborn - here

Twinklemegan · 15/01/2007 22:32

X posted Soph. Maybe try re-posting the link? I'm back full time worst luck, but DH is going to be looking after Aidan, for a while at least. We're just putting Aidan into nursery for one day a week at the mo. We couldn't afford full time nursery fees unless DH went back to working away from home - seems to defeat the object somewhat.

soph28 · 15/01/2007 22:43

Twinkle- what a sweetie Aidan is. Is your dh going to work from home and look after Aidan?

here's the link again toby and chloe- hopefully!

HumphreysCorner · 15/01/2007 22:48

I'm back!

Twinkle-glad work went down well. I was distraught when I went back after having DD1 and I had the full year off plus hols. You are all so much braver than me. Still trying to avoid going back!

kayzed-Roshi sounds just like DD1 was and she is still a madam now. Roshi seems to be having a lot of milk still-perhaps that is linked to her fussing over food . DD1 deffo had lots more milk than Sophie is having at this stage-problem with Sophie is that she doesn't cry for it so I sometimes forget that she hasn't had any Re: weighing in-all you need to do is pick one day a week to get weighed then report how much you have lost and the total so far. One condition though-you have to write it in English (or Aussie) as I only understand pounds

soph-am with you on the tired baby bit. If I wait just that little bit too long before putting Sophie to bed she witters for a couple of minutes but if I put her down before the vital signs there is not a sound. If Sophie woke at 6am I would feed her then give her breakfast at 7-30am ish. If she doesn't wake until 7-30am then I give her breakfast first followed by some milk. I don't think Chloe will be very hungry if she is having milk followed straight away by breakfast. Her sleep pattern is different to Sophie's-she has a sleep about 10-30am until 12-00pm then has lunch followed by a feed then has an afternoon nap at approx 1-30pm until 3-30pm . Has a play then tea at 4-30pm ish. Then bath, small feed then bed between 6pm and 7pm (usually 6-15pm). Every baby is different though so I would just say to try different routines until you find one that suits. I can't see your pics

Sophie has just about grown out of her 0-3 clothes lengthwise so a trip to Next is in order to spend my vouchers.

Have been doing a jigsaw tonight-v. therapeutic. Started it about 5 years ago so determined to finish it and have another one SIL bought in 2003 to do.

Off to stuff 6 points worth of food-that's 4 packets of choc buttons

why can't people see my photos- the album is public- any advice anyone?

HumphreysCorner · 15/01/2007 22:58

x-posts. I can see all piccies. Fantastico I lurve looking at everyones family

Sophie had baby eczema which has cleared now. Have you showed it to your HV again Twinkle? My HV gave me Hydromol ointment which made it 3 times as bad (like in your pic). She also gave me Hydromol Emollient which is for use in the bath. A few drops turns the water cloudy and it worked wonders for Sophie once I'd stopped using the ointment.

Yaaay - I can see your pics now Soph - they are both really gorgeous! Just read the rest of your post properly - interesting about Toby not sleeping through til 9 months. It's just so frustrating that Aidan was sleeping through beautifully until a week ago.

Thanks HC - the HV's coming again in a couple of weeks and I can't get to baby clinic before then. I might take him back to the docs. He's scratched at it and made it bleed again tonight. I've had to put his scratch mitts back on - - don't want him to get scars, god forbid.

soph28 · 15/01/2007 23:25

twinkle- toby slept through quite well between 4 and 6 months but started waking after i started weaning him. no idea why!

must go to bed now!!

Soph, could see the photos 2nd time - sooo cute!

Kayzed, had Sefton on my lap when I opened your pics of Roshi, he was babling madly then when the first pic opened he went quiet and then said "oooo" and then when I opened he smiled and said "ooo-aaa"! I think she has her first admirer!

I feel bad that he doesn't interact with many babies, MUST try and find a baby group of sorts.. a friend came round with a baby yesterday and he was SO excited.

One of the book I read about weaning siad you should give the baby a little milk first - to whet their appetite - and then feed them the solinds, and then finish off with milk again? Might be worth a try Annie / Kayzed?
