crispy we've also had no success getting E to sleep in the cot. Managed one hour last night! I've been co sleeping with her and hoping to gradually transition her to the cot.. Let me know how the sleepyhead goes, have been tempted by it!
suz I second using copious amounts of lanisol. Also, I've been using these moist wound healing sheets called 'jelonet'. Basically a large square of netting, which I cut into smaller squares llike a postage stamp size. Then after a feed apply lanisol, place a jelonet square in top, then put a breastpad over it. Has helped heal the crack in the base of my nipple down from about 15mm to 3-4mm. It's taking a while to heal but getting there eventually. I did consider using nipple shields or expressing but couldn't be bothered with the faff of expressing at night and didn't want to go down the nipple shield route. Hopefully your nipple heals up soon.
magpie E was diagnosed at birth with positional talipes but have literally heard nothing more about it so am just going to ask at the 6 week appt.
Sorry to hear about the jaundice trijo. It's so common though with newborns, please don't feel bad about it. Hope treatment goes OK
time if you're that concerned about baby weight then I'm sure your local children's centres will have weigh in drop ins. Where I live there are drop ins pretty much everyday but I live in a large town with lots of children's centres. Your health visitor should have given you details of drop ins when you had your visit?
Speaking of which I have finally heard from the health visiting team and have a home visit from them next week. DPs mum said hv are supposed to see baby between days 10-14 but E is 14 days old today so they've missed that window! Postnatal service has been a bit crap here- I had to chase up about Es newborn hearing screening, they gave me an appt but I realised it's Monday and they didn't tell me where to go for it! So spent half an hour on hold to audiology dept at hospital today before giving up, need to ring them tomorrow to chase it up.
Re nappies- we've been using Aldi as they are cheap and haven't experienced any leakage, and they've always worked with DD1. We're going to move E onto reusable nappies once her cord stump has healed, but will still use disposables at night. DPs brother and SIL bought us some cheeky wipes which are reusable wipes, and have started using them, would definitely recommend them to anyone considering going down the reusable wipes route.
E has been a cheeky bugger today, after feeding every 2 hours last night she spent most of the day sleeping. Had to wake her for a few feeds!
