Oh no marmite! Hopefully tonight is better. me that sounds good!

I think Nancy slept 11-4 last night which is amazing! I can never be 100% sure that I didn't just feed her in my sleep but my bra was all done up so I don't think I did Blush I'm proud of her but sure it was just a fluke or the three glasses of wine I had

Thanks for the reassurance re clinic yesterday. It was embarrassing of course but the nurse was lovely. Worst part was they couldn't see any thrush so I might have to go see a consultant in Lincoln. Now I'm worried what it is! It's horrible and I can't really have the coil fitted until I'm better, ugh

marmiteandcheeseplease · 14/04/2016 06:40

Wow me that's impressive!

E was wide awake at half 4, not crying and didn't want to eat, just very awake. I realised that although she'd been waking every hour she hadn't actually be eating much, and I didn't think she was waking for hunger. So I had a look at the wonder weeks app and sure enough she is going through a developmental leap so that might explain it. Fingers crossed once this passes her sleep will improve.

RhubarbAndMustard · 14/04/2016 08:47

Me and beaut, great news on good nights, but sorry to hear about your trip to the clinic beaut. Sounds really uncomfortable for you. Having been like that through a lot of the pregnancy I really feel for you. Thanks

We had an awful day yesterday. J would only catnap for 10-20 mins then would wake up crying (and I mean really crying!) and this went on all day. He finally did a massive poo around 9pm and then zonked out from 10pm until 4am.

It's the wedding tomorrow so hope we don't have another bad day for that. I'm getting everything ready today so that I'm not stressing and rushing around tomorrow morning. It's a 2hr drive if the roads are clear (M25, so all fingers crossed).

vroc81 · 14/04/2016 08:56

Bleugh, the pumping is killing me... My mum is down this week which has been a godsend as I can go boob hand over for last expressed bottle and go pump instead of waiting until she is settled to do it.. but having to set an alarm in the night to pump, R went 10 - 3 which would have been amazing if I hadn't had to be awake for 45minutes at midnight...

On top of that DH is in a bad mood because my mums here and he feels a little like his house has been taken over, which is true but he's had his dinner cooked the last 3 nights and the wash bin is empty and between me and my mum he got 7 hours uninterrupted sleep last night so not sure what he's got to complain about..

R is an eating machine still and takes so long to settle not sure how much longer I can keep the pumping up when I'm back by myself.

Sorry bit of a me me me post, sorry for all those that have had crap nights I recommend cake for breakfast if that's the case!

Calais jabs today in an hour :( she's so happy right now on her play mat. Looking around and making all sorts of little noises. I don't want to see anything hurt her :(. And does it really shock the babies as their not expecting the needles?
I hope she's ok after.
Does anyone know about calpol in prems. Also I had her weighed last week and she's 3.46 kilos as of then.

Purpleprickles · 14/04/2016 09:49

Had the sweetest moment this morning. E is now doing proper big smiles when she wakes up. She gave a real beaming one to ds and he got all tearful with "happy tears". He is 7 and has a bit of a sensitive side. I got all choked up too. I just can't believe we have her after the infertility and miscarriage.

Vroc possibly your dh and mine are related? We have the same grumps when my parents stay but my answer is always "let's move 20 mins drive from them (which is the distance from us to his) and then they don't have to stay". Funnily enough he's never taken me up on that idea.

Me we had a similarly good night here!

Beaut Sad to the consultant. Hope you get sorted soon. Mine has started again today, not sure if it's hormone related as I used to get thrush before my period and I've been feeling a bit crampy today. Going to be mega annoyed if I come on because my lochia has literally just stopped.

Time in my experience Calais will probably cry a lot as soon as the needle goes in. They will ask you to hold her for it so I'd advise look away and hold her tight with a reassuring cuddle. I used to make myself feel better by thinking its a moment of pain compared to being ill with some very nasty infections. Good luck.

Me624 · 14/04/2016 09:53

Good luck with the jabs Time. Best ask the nurse about calpol for her.

Purple that's so lovely. DS isn't really doing proper smiles yet, I really want him to! We've had a few times where I think he's trying to but nothing yet that I could confidently say his a smile! He's only just 6 weeks today so hopefully soon.

I have just booked us into a baby massage course starting next week. Lots of friends have raved about it. I have been giving DS little massages with baby oil after his baths anyway but it will be good to learn how to do it properly!

Timetogrowup2016 · 14/04/2016 10:06

Thanks ladies.
It's horrible isn't it but i feel it's for the best so it has to be done. I would never forgive my self if she got some horrible illness because I didn't get her immunised.
C had an ok last night she fed at 10,12,4 and 8:30. Feeling pretty good today especially as oh done the 4am feed and his off today so coming with me for support which I desperately need today.
Had a lovely day yesterday. Went to my nans for the day- had a lovely day and for the first time felt so relaxed with the baby.
Purple- that must of been lovely. C is eight weeks and still no proper smile. I feel pretty sad about her being a bit behind because of being born Early and feel we've been waiting for ages as she's still so much like a newborn

Timetogrowup2016 · 14/04/2016 12:32

Poor babies had her jabs, I found it heartbreaking, she cried so much that their was no noise when she was crying just a silent scream- never heard her like that before :(. She had the oral rotavirus one to and she then threw that all up all over me so they had to re do it. Given her calpol on their advice but I'm paranoid as she dribbled some and I'm so scared of fever or her getting really ill.
She has taken 60ml of milk and is now very sleepy bless her. She's not really fussed about food though so am I bit worried about her weight dropping. Just feel so paranoid really.

Missikat · 14/04/2016 17:21

Time, sorry to hear Calais' jabs were stressful, it's horrible to see them in pain isn't it. I'm surprised they gave another dose of the rotavirus as the same thing happened when Zach had his, I fed him straight after his jabs and he promptly threw up. They wouldn't give him another dose as the nurse said as couldn't be sure if he'd already taken some down.

I know what you mean about the babies being behind because of their prematurity. Zach is 4.5 months (5.5 weeks corrected) but not smiling yet. I'm really impatient for it! Hopefully they will start doing it soon.

Poppins, Me and marmite, we are in a similar boat. I also checked the wonder weeks app and Zach is in (coming to the end of) a developmental leap according to his corrected age. It says babies will cry a lot more for no reason, want to be held all the time, not want to be put down and generally fussier than previously. The last few days the caboo has come into it's own, especially when needing to take DS1
To his childminder and sorting him out in the morning and evening. Zach loves being in the sling and will be quiet and calm in it even if he's been kicking off previously (which he's been doing a lot!). I'm just repeating the mantra 'it's only a phase' and hoping that soon he'll happily.be put down again.

Me, try and not beat yourself up about the dummy. If it helps your son to calm down then it's the best thing and no failure on your part.

Indom, hope you're getting on ok.

It was my birthday yesterday and what a beautiful day for it! Spent all day at the park with five other ladies who I met when DS1 was a baby. Between us we now have 12 children and one friend is currently pregnant, all in the space of 2.5 years! It's chaos when we meet but lovely for the toddlers to get together. DS1 is so excited when he gets to meet his friends, it's so lovely watching them together having seen them grow together as we all met when our firsts were under a month old.

I will keep fingers crossed that all our babies sleep better tonight. Zach hadn't been too bad at night generally only waking once or twice after DH gives him a bottle between 10-12pm. I'm feeling much more human!

Missikat · 14/04/2016 17:25

Suz and Dobby, hope you both recover soon. I'm keeping my eyes out for signs of thrush with Zach as I've just been on a course of antibiotics too.

Beaut, hope the consultant gets to the bottom of things for you.

Poppins27 · 14/04/2016 17:49

Thanks Missi your the 2nd person to mention that app so I may have to invest! And a belated Happy Birthday to you!!

Suz can I ask if you had any other signs for thrush, just because my HV thinks this may be why Bertie is refusing the bottle as she noticed his tongue was slightly white?! I've not noticed any symptoms myself, but not actually sure what I would have noticed if that makes sense?!

Time it's awful seeing your baby upset but keep telling yourself why she dad had the injection and what your preventing her from getting...much worse symptoms ultimately! For what it's worth my Dd didn't get I'll with them when she was little, just slept for aaaages!!

Have I missed any posts from ffaux or trijo?! I only ask as I'm sure they were previously struggling and I don't remember 'seeing' them for a while?!

Me624 · 14/04/2016 18:30

Poor Calais, Time. Have you been taking her to be weighed fairly regularly? I still get the odd paranoid moment about DS but seeing that he's tracking his percentile line reassures me that he's getting enough. He has days where he wants loads and days where it's a struggle to get a bottle in him, but he's obviously self regulating just fine.

Your post about her jabs reminded me to book ds's. They didn't have any appointments free until he is 9.5 weeks but I doubt the delay will do him any harm.

Thanks for posting about the developmental leap Missi. That may explain why DS has been so unsettled the last few days. He hasn't been nearly so bad today, he got agitated just now after his bath but I managed to settle him eventually and he went to sleep. I've made my peace with the dummy - I'm only giving it to him if he really needs it but how can giving him a dummy which soothes him more or less instantly be worse than letting him cry for hours and get himself into a right old state.

Poppins you're right I haven't seen any posts from them. I disappeared for a few weeks when I was really struggling so hopefully they'll be back when they're ready like me!

MyNameIsSuz · 14/04/2016 18:35

Happy birthday missi!

I have noticed a couple of other things poppins, but only since googling it - I noticed the white tongue too and wondered if it was thrush, then when I looked it up a few more things rang true. She's been very windy and uncomfortable, and has been really fussy when feeding, pulling off and crying. I've also found feeding really painful, though I don't know if you're breast or bottle feeding so this might be irrelevant! I hope you get sorted soon.

Well done getting the first jabs out the way time, I'm not looking forward to those!

Woodenmouse · 14/04/2016 20:18

Happy birthday missi

Paperblank · 14/04/2016 21:22

Missi Happy birthday Grin Flowers Wine Cake

Poppins I was wondering the same about Ffaux and Tri... hope you are okay ladies xx

Have taken Martha to baby sensory class today. She slept through most of it but I loved it Smile. She's also loving having a bath now, and I am having a lovely snuggle with my little sweetie pie...she's snoozing, she's got her jammies on and she smells GORGEOUS. I could eat her.

marmiteandcheeseplease · 14/04/2016 22:07

Happy birthday missi!

Sorry jabs were traumatic time but at least they're done now - hope C is ok. With DD1 she never showed any reaction to her jabs but I know it varies massively.

Bit apprehensive about tomorrow as its my first day all day alone with DD1 and El. DP was gonna take the day off but he has a meeting at work so can't, and works leaving drinks to go to for a colleague, making the day even longer for me (though he will be back to do bedtime for DD1 thankfully). El had a terrible night last night and is not really enjoying being in her bednest so far this evening so may have to resort to co sleeping - really hope I get a bit more sleep tonight or its game over for me tomorrow!

IndomitabIe · 14/04/2016 22:32

Happy birthday Missi!

I've been reading but not posting much. I find myself a bit busier than I was a fortnight ago! Grin

Sorry to hear of people's difficulties. Various thrush sounds uncomfortable to say the least. Hope all is resolved swiftly.

We've been very lucky: DS2 has been pretty good, and we've been finding the whole experience much more enjoyable than with DS1!

Although, DS2 has started with the unsettled evenings, but at the moment we're coping with it.

DH is off for another week, fortunately. We haven't been organised enough to join the school run yet!

Me624 · 15/04/2016 00:49

Glad you're getting on ok Indom!

I forgot to say happy birthday to Missi in my last post.

What does everyone else do about nighttime nappy changes? When DS was going 3-4 hours between feeds I'd change him at the last evening one around 10pm, not change him at the first night one (1-2am) but change him again at the early morning one (4-5am). Now he's going longer between night feeds, so tonight he fed at 7pm, went till 12.30, and now I expect he'll go till 5 or 6. We're still in size 1s and the one time I tried to leave him all night he woke up very damp. But changing him wakes him up so much! Once we've finished the current pack we've got I'm intending to move him to size 2, maybe they'll be big enough to hold a whole nights wee? I should say he never poos at night.

Crispylicious · 15/04/2016 01:35

Second wake up here . He did do a nice long stretch of sleep, but it was from 7pm, so too early for me to take advantage and get some sleep!

me when ds is in size 2s, we're gonna swap to the pampers baby dry for night time - they hold a lot more wee and are a godsend!

Sorry to read several of us have thrush and about a mystery infection beaut. It's hard when you can't really take anything due to BFing.

We had a really hard evening yesterday, with DS crying for pretty much 3 hours solid. His poor little eyes were all red from the crying :( DD also refused to go to sleep, so it was 11pm by the time both were settled. Last night was better thankfully!

time hope C is still ok post jab. I'm really not looking forward to them.

Right better try to settle DS, who's looking scarily awake Hmm

Crispylicious · 15/04/2016 01:50

And happy birthday missi! We may well end up with dh doing a bottle too. Is that EBM or formula? Just not sure how I'd fit in expressing as well as everything else!

vroc81 · 15/04/2016 03:40

Belated Happy Birthday Missi!

Time hope C is doing ok following her jabs.

Ive given up on trying to keep her dark and quiet after she's been awake two hours and am watching the Chinese GP free practise, this is not something that should be viewed live... I think I need to download some box sets.. She's not hungry just wide awake for the last two hours.. Every time I think she's gone and go to put her down, ping eyes wide open again!

RhubarbAndMustard · 15/04/2016 06:22

Happy belated birthday Missi.

Me I still change his nappy before each feed so the feed settles him back down again. I could probably leave it for the midnight feed though so might try that from now on.

I've had hardly any sleep. Not because of J but because of my work situation. As you know I'm at risk of redundancy, but they have offered what is basically a watered down version of my role to someone else at risk but for half the hours and a third of the salary. I'm fuming. Spoke to HR yesterday and they have now apologised and agreed they need to offer me the role first, but when I asked for a job description they sent me (at 5pm) 6 bullet points! And they are so generalised that they essentially outline my existing role (not specifying just the lower level tasks that would justify the huge drop in salary). Oh and I only have until Monday to decide because that's the end of the consultation process.

Sorry for the huge whinge everyone. It's been going through my head all night. I'm now very tired and worried about driving home from the wedding later on tonight on only 4 hours sleep.

MrsElls · 15/04/2016 06:49

Another one here that leaves the nappy at the first night feed, it doesn't seem to bother her and in the day she hates a dirty nappy.

rhu that's rubbish, I've gone through redundancy consultation a couple of times, I'm no expert but surely they have to give you longer to consider you might have been better to let them mess up and the complaining about it after and getting a better package. It was my understanding that people on maternity are really protected so make sure they don't try to pull a fast one, it stress that I'm sure you don't need at the moment though.

Hope the wedding goes ok, has J got a fancy outfit?

Purpleprickles · 15/04/2016 06:51

Rhu that sounds so stressful and not what you need when you have just had a baby. Are they even allowed to make you redundant on mat leave? I'm sure there are employment laws about that.

Vroc I have been downloading Modern Family to watch when E sleeps on me. Have you seen it? It's hilarious.
