Jeeeezuz you lot! How long has it taken me to catch up!!!

I can just confirm that I am not preggers and that you are all freaky weirdo's being broody this early. If we ever have a meet up I'm gonna bang all your heads together.

Anyhooo, we had gone down to my BIL's for his wedding reception last saturday. They got married on xmas eve in Canada and came back a week last thursday. Then dh had a course to do so it made it easier to stay down there the whole week. We only got back yesterday.
It was a lovely reception and the kids were little stars. Just a shame that 3 certain people insisted on smoking near Ellis even thought they knew he had broncilitis
I've got some lovely pics but they're too big to stick on here and I can't re-size

Well Ellis was weighed a week ago and he was 14lb 3oz at 19 weeks. He has dropped a bit on his centile thingy but we're not too concerned. Funny because over the last few days he's really changed. I took dd to Mcdonalds last week and Ellis grabbed hold of my Big Mac and since then he's grabbing my knife and fork and anything he can get on my plate. So I thought I'd try the baby rice again. Well it made him violently sick and made me think we're never gonna get this child to eat. He'll be taking bottles of formula in his pack up box to school.
But, as a last resort (and I mean last resort because it goes against everything I believe) I bought him a jar of Hipp Organic butternut squash and lo and fecking behold, he bloody well ate it and didnt puke .
So my next step is to try the real butternut squash and see if its as successful.

His sleeping is absolutly appauling atm too. We're averaging on being up about 6/7 times in the night and this has been from xmas week so I am beyond knackered.
Oh and I forgot to mention that not only have we got the child that cannot eat or sleep but the only child who has all 4 incisors coming through before his front teeth [insert great big sigh emoticon]. You should see them. They are fecking huge. Great big mount everests in his mouth. However, magically they dont seem to be hurting him and he's quite content so I guess thats a blessing.

I have read all the posts btw, so big hello to you all.
xxx

stumpydoglooksforwardtospring · 13/01/2007 13:04

hello.i'll catch up with messages later.my 13yr old ds has just done this link for me this

stumpydoglooksforwardtospring · 13/01/2007 13:20

back again.13 yr old has stopped telling me what to do . pink - people often tell me i look v young for my age.i keep expecting to wake up one morning and look in the mirror and find i've aged 6 or 7 years overnight . olivo, i spoke to one of the midwives, giselle, and went through my notes. i was shocked when she told me they hadn't expected ds to survive. it was an important thing for me to discuss it with her, the reasons why, etc. i know there is a hospital counsellor too.perhaps she could get all the details for you. i think her name is ann lane. greenmum, hello. i have teenagers too.when they're not having hissy fits they're really good children. at your labour. booby, hope you feel better soon, and feathers, agree with you - no more babies for me. i fact i must organise an op soon, sterilisation, otherwise there'll be another one

olivo · 13/01/2007 16:30

thanks for that stumpy, hadnt realised there was a counsellor, might get onto that. don't remember m/w giselle, although i may have met her, i met alot as i was in for 9 days!!

bored today, dh away, dd napping lots and everyone seems to be busy. still have caught up on the ironing and cleaning! going to go to bed early, skip dd's dream feed and see what happens.....

PinkTulips · 13/01/2007 19:47

Caleb slept!!!!! He went to bed at 7, woke at 8 for a feed and slept til...... wait for it.......... 4am and when he did wake up he turned over and went back to sleep for 20 mins (i of course was lying on the bed wide awake afraid to move waiting for him to stir!)

I'm so happy... trying not to get too excited in case he's back to his usual tricks tonight, lol.

Only downsid eis thanks to not feeding for 8 hours when i normally feed every hour or two is that i have faffing mastitis again.... OUCH! in the other boob this time and got the fluey, yucky, all over ache thing too

But he SLEPT!!!!!!!!!!

olivo · 13/01/2007 20:09

PT - congratulations! am of the sleep but not of the mastitis - touch wood i've got away without it so far!

PinkTulips · 13/01/2007 20:11

thanks.... he just woke up a minute ago and went to sleep of his own accord think he might just have realised he doesn't need mommy to get him back to sleep every time.... fingers and toes crossed anyway

NbgsYellowFeathers · 14/01/2007 14:12

Bloody mastitis Pinky
Is there a certain reason why you get it or is it just one of those things? Great that Caleb slept through. Am very very

Olivo and Stumpy, I think your quite brave reading your notes. I still dont think I could bring myself to do it just yet. Makes me feel all funny. I have looked at Ellis and my discharge summarys which I kept but that isnt very detailed.

Back to the grindstone tomorrow . DD is at school Monday to Thursday now so my mornings are all tied up. Its a good excuse to get my backside down to the baby clinic though, considering I havent done it once yet . I'm going to bend the HV's ear about weaning!

PinkTulips · 14/01/2007 14:32

caleb has his first tooth! he was up half the night screaming and refusing to feed (great for the mastitis.....not!) but his bottom right front tooth is just broken through the surface and he's very proud of himself, lol

feathers.... think i'm getting it so much as i'm just generally run down and catching every bug going.... need to sort my health out but no idea where to start.

good luck at the baby clinic... i never bring caleb either except when theey send me a letter for a developmental check..... can't be bothered with all that continuous weighing and lecturing.

NbgsYellowFeathers · 14/01/2007 14:36

You could be really brave and have some blood tests to see where you are deficient.
Otherwise, just get some multivitamins like you mentioned before and get lots of fruit and meat down your neck.
Sleep deprivation won't be helping either but hopefully this might be the end of it now for you!
Bless Caleb getting his tooth
I hope Ellis's come through. They are sticking out of his gums so much, I cant believe they dont hurt him.

PinkTulips · 14/01/2007 14:40

have my vit c = zinc and my cod liver oil tablets and my iron supplements al sat on the kitchen counter........ just can never remeber to take the damn things

NbgsYellowFeathers · 14/01/2007 14:42

lol
Bit like me and the iron stuff I have. It sits there in its bright orange box and I still never take it.

PinkTulips · 14/01/2007 14:44

lol.... spatone as well? the box is big enough you'd think we'd spot it at some point in the day, lol!

NbgsYellowFeathers · 14/01/2007 14:45

Yep Spatone!
Its so easy to take aswell!

PinkTulips · 14/01/2007 14:47

lol.... i usually forgo the juice or water and knock it back like a shot and then make awful faces at dp for the next 10 mins...... lazy.... moi? [innocent emoticon]

NbgsYellowFeathers · 14/01/2007 14:51

Eeek! Your brave. I can still taste it in orange juice.

PinkTulips · 14/01/2007 14:54

thats why i don't bother, lol. mastered the art of shot drinking when i was a teen and lord knows if you can drink jegarmeister then an iron supplement should be easy in comparison! due to my tendancy to bring mugs up to the bedroome every night and never bring them down again we often have very few drinking utensils in the kitchen that aren't made of pink plastic or have winnie the pooh plastered all over them!

NbgsYellowFeathers · 14/01/2007 14:56
