stumpy - is the nasal aspirator the 'sucky snot' thing?! had thought about one of those! dd is a bit better today but didnt sleep well. going for a walk in st ouens i think to clear the nose! shame your dh is a bit with the drs - i love dr malpas ( and have you met the registrars? they are SO lovely!)lol at everyone looking at reuben and your boobs! ; holly does that too!
have decided to try and carry on bf for another month; giving two bottles of formula, one in the afternoon and one at night but still seem to be producing plenty of milk for now.
eeny, i know how you feel about the finances; we get 12 weeks maternity pay but they keep 6 weeks of that and dont give you it till you've been back at work for 3 months. maternity allowance goes from 6 weeks before your due date and stops 12 weeks after so i last got that in november! hence a couple of days work in the next couple of weeks

anyway, wil stop my essay now and go and get dressed.see you later!

NbgsYellowFeathers · 21/01/2007 10:26

Stumpy, I totally missed your post about Reuben. It must be very hard to go through something like that.

Eeny, we're thinking the same thing atm about money. My Mat allowance ran out in November. They gave a smaller payment last month but thats it now. Dh has been talking about doing some of the work we used to do before I was pg but I really really dont want to. The thought of spending the full day in a dirty filthy police cell with a juvenille murderer or rapist really doesnt fill me with excitement.
We had a mass clear out on Friday and I've listed some things on ebay so hopefully this might help a bit.

I had an awful night last night. I was really looking forward to getting some sleep and the second I laid down in bed, I felt really sick. I eventually had to get up and sit outside and about an hour later was vomiting! I'm not sure if its connected to the tablets I'm taking because I've had this a few times before. Not being sick but feeling really sick.
If anyone can shed some light, I'd be grateful.

melsy · 21/01/2007 17:57

can u believe I just sat here for ages and effin ages writing a post saying hello to everyone. I tried to copy and paste someones name and due to Mn directing to this new profile thingy I lost it all. Im soooo annoyed.

I did this a day ago and it wound me up then

ok here goes AGAIN

Im sorry for not posting for a while. i have been lurking , but Ive been soo drained and tired I havent been able to type much. If I do Ill go on and on about all the ailments Im feeling and youll all think IM a hypochondriac. Im just so exhausted , low and fed up. However much I rest and stay at home I dont feel anymore energised. I seem to have manifested IBS now which Ive never had before.

yellow I hope the kids were ok the last couple of hrs

Booby , Im sorry to hear your feeling low too (((HUGS))). Just remember you have a wonderful strength inside you. Your piccy with dh is gorge btw. I definitely think a session of EFT will be amazing for you. They show u to accept the pain whether it be physical or emotional but yet still accept yourself. Oh and as PInk says , you deffo keep on nearly a stone when BF.

dreamy nice ti read about your goings on , I don't know how you do it with them all.

Snow , hugs for you too feeling ruff , do you have a treatment plan or ar on any medication ? Please bleep me and we can chat. Yellow was saying today ist unusual to meet soo many like minded people who are suffering similarly.

Pink - you hippy you, Im afraid Im the dichotomous hippy(if thats a real phrase!!) , as I use pampers , bf and ff , give baby rice but want to really do BLW. yes I just said Im giving baby rice. Dd2 keep grabbing our food , but we dont eat very baby friendly and when Ive given her stuff to hold and chew she doesnt quite get it yet.
eeny , you sound soo loved up awww, I stil have those exciting moments even with a dd2. dd1 gets all excited seeing dd2 do things , more than me actually.
nwgreen - hiya
Olivo , In also reducing BF , Im just not healing with my back, Im sure its some of the hormones still in me. Youve done well to ex bf to this stage.

Stumpy , must take some resolve to go through all that with a lo, I dont know hiw id handle it. Im glad something can be done for him. dd2 does the exact same when feeding , and thats just in bed at home, drives me potty and it hurts too.

anywhooo , Im sure Ive killed the thread now , so Im off to comb some cradle cap off dd2s olive oil covered head and then bath the girls.

Snowboo · 21/01/2007 21:41

Now i know i've lost it....Keep seeing TIA at the end of loads of posts and thought she was a busy girl......Just worked out what it means D'uhhhh....

Hi Mels, hows it going? Hope alls well.

And now i have forgotten everything yet again..... Whats all this talk about profiles etc? I'm getting lost with it all....

Hello to all else, i promise to make more effort at keeping up!!!!!

Well my 'houseguest' has gone, i nearly killed her tbh. Not only was it the milk and brany thing but she managed to graze his chin when putting him in his bouncy chair. I have no idea how she managed it but needles to say she hasn't had her hands on him since. And she has been telling me how to raise my kids (like she knows with NONE!!!) and that ds1 should be in his bed, shouldn't have nightmares etc etc (switched off by this point). Even dh has said she is never ever staying with us, talk about a walking nightmare. I'm knackered from the strress of it all.

As for the other 'guest' he is still living in my tumble dryer and i can't bring my self to try and hurt him. Its actually a relaxing sound once you get used to it.

TheCricketHunter · 21/01/2007 22:07

Oh and i went clothes shopping today.
What is that thing that is overhanging my jeans??????!!!!!!!! And how do i get rid of it without cosmetic surgery?

Anyone got any good but easy exercises to do whilst sitting indoors?

lunavix · 21/01/2007 22:09

boo - boogie beebies DVD - £7.99 - bargain!

lunavix · 21/01/2007 22:10

dh is adamant when dd is 6 months to the day she will be weaned off bf he still hates me doing it. I feel kinda sad, I can't say i like seeing mums bfing toddlers but 6mo isn't toddler! It'll be nice to get her into a routine but I'll miss it

We're planning holiday for this year - a week at butlins in september lol. Bargain.

stumpydoglooksforwardtospring · 21/01/2007 23:02

do you think your dd will agree to give up bf, lunavix ? i never could prise any of mine off til they were much older

olivo - i do mean the sucky snot thing. i find it helps sometimes

yellow and melsy, hope you feel better soon

snowboo, i can't work out what TIA means, and your guest in the tumble dryer sounds like a lot less trouble than the other one

PinkTulips · 21/01/2007 23:12

luna.... pick something that dh absolutely loves and say if he wants you to stop bf-ing he has to give that up! don't let him bully you... it makes me so sad to hear the way he acts about bf-ing... i told dp about him and he was horrified so it's not a male thing to be jealous of their baby bf-ing.

Snow.... thank god your houseguest is gone.... he sounds like a right dizzy cow... sorry! (and how do you graze a babies chin getting them into a bouncer? or stop a child havng nightmares for that matter?)

Caleb is wide awake and making a nuisance of himself.... he seems to have decided that he's going to wake at 10pm every night and not go down til almost 12.... we don't necessarily have to be in the room with him as he's quite happy to just kick around his cot 90% of the time but he just won't go back to sleep.... i'm a walking zombie because i can't go to bed til he's down and then he gets in with me 10/15 mins after i go up

melsy.... you know you can moan to us all you want babe! hope you start to feel a bit better soon. don't feel bad about the bf-ing, you did it for so much longer than you thought you would, be proud! can totally sypathise about it making you back worse, mines nowhere near as bad as your and theres days i long for these damn hormones to be out of my system so i can feel somewhat human again!

olivo · 22/01/2007 09:07

morning!
lol at TIA snow and stumpy - it took me months to realise it wasnt a person!! (it means Thanks In Advance or something like that stumpy!).
PT - holly is waking between 9.30 and 10 every night at the moment too but i'm hoping it's because of her cold. she seem s much less snotty today though so fingers crossed for tonight.

luna - i hope you get to give up bf when you and dd are ready. my dh is getting frustrated as i keep saying 'oh, i'll just try and feed her for a few more weeks' - i was going to stop after christmas, then by the end of jan, now i've said in a few more weeks! I just can't quite seem to 'let go'! i think dh thinks she'll sleep better as she is awake for food 3 times a night! but he doesnt have to get up!!

melsy - if you're anything like me, the hunching over when you're bf take sits toll on your back too. well done to you for getting this far.

having a lazy day today, mum and baby group this morning but nothing else.

NbgsYellowFeathers · 22/01/2007 10:12

So I've decided that having more than one child is bloddy hard work lol!
Yesterday when I was talking to Melsy on msn, dd and ellis just started screaming and I think because Ellis was crying dd was doing it to get attention but they were face to face and just getting louder. It was so strange!

Snow, I'm intrigued about your guest in the tumble dryer!

Got some great news last night. My SIL called to say shes found a great deal to go to Canada on Boxing day for 2 weeks so we're going to do it! Am very excited but god knows how we're going to afford it!

TheCricketHunter · 22/01/2007 14:13

Well if he is in the tumble dryer he won't be freezing at this moment in time!!! Suppose if he is crispy enough i could snack on him.....(started my Kelloggs diet this morning and all i have been thinking about is.....FOOD!!! Yummy crisps and choc and fizzy drinks and all the things i normally hate i could sit here and munch)
It will be orth it. Have a wedding to attend in 6 weeks time and dhs mental ex will be there. (Ok, she's anorexic but hey, slimmer than me!) So please keep reminding me of why i must lose the excess.....

So glad its not just me with the TIA thing. Felt like a right wombat when i'd realised.

Luna, tell him to bog off. Dh was a bit funny about it but only cos his mother is funny about it also. Keeps banging on about cows milk warmed up with some added porridge, make a hole in the teat to pass it thru and hey presto HAPPY BABY!! Obviously hasn't noticed that Austin never (well, rarely) crys.....Keep going til you are ready to stop.

Yellow, i have a little cricket living in my dryer. Quite a sweet little chap really.....will get rid of him when dh says i can have a Gecko/Gheko whatever....

And mental cousin wasn't a him, she a female FFS!!! Maternal instinct passed her by methinks. And no, i have no idea how she hurt his ickle chin. Poor baby.

dressedupnowheretogo · 22/01/2007 14:25

hi ya all

been baby massage today which was lovely and had a coffee after so was to get out of house

im starting to think anxity may be linked to work

BigHotMama · 22/01/2007 16:28

Hi everyone hope your all well

Glad you had a day out Booby its refreshing i think to get out the house and feel like you've done something with your day. I'm still in my pj's. I really want to go to a baby massage class but they dont do them here yet. I find it hard to go to baby groups, feel like they might be cliquey, almost like going back to school and trying to fit in. Whats making you think your anxiety is linked to work then?

Is anybody finding their lo's getting clingy? Jackson hates being put down in his bouncey chair lately gets really restless, not sure if he wants to get out on the floor to explore or just wants to be in my arms having loads of cuddles and kisses. (I must kiss his head about 50 times a day lol) Also keeps making a sucking sound with his mouth as if he's chomping on his gums?

My nipples have shrunk back to pre preg size? They've been hurting me all weekend and felt like the areola part was swollen? WTF? Also still getting bit of leakage, how long does it take for them to get back to normal? Am so envious of you lot who are still bfing though.

Bought Jackson the Chicco baby walker, cant wait to get him in it as he's always straining to stand up on my lap, should keep him amused

The countdown back to work is on, I start next Monday and am dreading it. Keep telling myself its only for 4 weeks and the money from the redundancy package will come in really handy and I will be a SAHM for the rest of the year wehey!

PinkTulips · 22/01/2007 16:29

aww booby.... can you afford to give up work til your feeling stronger? i remember you saying you were just going to try it for a while and stop if it got too much.

snow..... i knew it was a female cousin and all.... my crappy tying strikes again

dressedupnowheretogo · 23/01/2007 14:46

im feeling better today

been to weight watchers today and joined up so here we go!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanq for all your support and everyones well wishes

BigHotMama · 23/01/2007 15:00

Go Booby Go! We can support one another, me at Slimming World and You at WW. I lost 1/2 lb this week total of 6.5lb yipee nearly half stone. Its just so hard to get motivated most the time, and my willpower is terrible. Going to asda to stock up on some fruit to help me stock picking at naughties. Good luck chick!

burstingbug · 23/01/2007 23:06

Hi all, I've been having a lurk on our thread for a while but not posting.
I'm going back to work on Friday trying to find clothes in my wardrobe that fit, I'm now a size 12 10st 2ozs , not been this size or weight for a few years.
Joe was weighed today, he's 17lb 6ozs, no longer following the 75th centile curve he's had his first taste of food - sunshine banana breakfast, he had some this morning and some tonight, not much, but he seemed to like it . He is developing well, he's been rolling for weeks, 360's and everything and today he's learnt how to sit all by himself - a bit wobbly, but still, its sitting none the less .
Going to have to resort to formula when I'm at work, have had no joy expressing , but he'll only have 6 bottles a week (2 a day) which isn't bad. 5mths and 1wk exclusive breastfeeding so I've done reasonably well, trying not to beat myself up about it.
George is still potty & toilet training, only having 1 or 2 accidents a day.
And if all thats not enough to contend with ...... I'm taking our dog Spike to dog training classes!
I've changed my anti-depressents to one that wont make me like a zombie, found it really hard to wake up and do anything before 9am , not good when both boys have been up since just after 7am! Also changed my pill so I don't have to take it at the exact same time every day, I kept varying my times up to 3hrs despite reminders! and I don't want 3 lo's!
Geezzz, glad thats all out, I'll try joining in the conversation tomorrow as opposed to talking at you. Well done if you managed to get through this
xxx

NbgsYellowFeathers · 24/01/2007 08:47

Snow, lol at your Cricket I bet he makes a right bloody racket!

Booby, well done for signing up to WW. I'm sure you'll do really well. Have you ever done WW before? I think its a very good diet to follow.

BB, I didnt realise you were on AD's. Brave you for doing the potty training and dog classes all at once! Our dog could do with them but he'll be 6 next month so I'm not sure what effect it will have on him.

BHM, good luck with going back to work. Like you said, its just 4 weeks so keep thinking about that. Plus being at home after it all for the rest of the year! How cool!
Ellis is incredibly clingy atm. I was telling melsy the other day. I can't go out of sight without him screaming. He wont settle for anyone else but me! Its nice but also very annoying too.

I've had dd off school the last couple of days and today, when she has to go back, it starts to bloody snow!!! Gonna have to get her and ellis out of the house into the freezing cold. In fact I'm going to put ellis in the proper pushchair so I can stick the cosy toes on. Lucky baby!

olivo · 24/01/2007 09:03

Morning! another wet, grey morning here

bursting - good to hear from you, things sound hectic for you at the moment. well done on you ex bf - you've done brilliantly.

booby/bhm - good luck with the slimming. I am planning to stop bf in a few weeks then will be dieting with a vengeance.

YF - holly is being quite clingy at the moment too - doesnt bode well for my day at work tomorrow! i'm of your snow, we hardly ever get it here - then again, not of having to do the school run! good luck!

havent been feeling good this week. cant put my finger on it but every night i go to bed with a sore aching muscles and swollen glands; in the morning, i feel ok. my IBS has also come back and i've had horrible backache for the first time in my life. sorry, i must sound like a right moaner!

having a blitz on my wardrobe today - there must be at least one work outfit that still fits me ....

dressedupnowheretogo · 24/01/2007 09:15

snow we have snow

lovely sparkly sunny day here got bibs later and seuppossed to be cutting my grandads hair later and my mums fringe so fingers crossed

madam has woke up with a pale spotty rash in her nappy and up the left hand side of her body not sure what to do ?

any suggestions?

hugs to all those going back to work

BigHotMama · 24/01/2007 09:17

You got snow? We got sunshine but I bet its on its way to us soon. Has your dd been poorly then YF? I'm hoping Jackson will be ok while I'm at work, he's going to my moms in the mornings and mil's in the afternoons, and on fridays I've got a friend coming to babysit.

I'm worried my mom might try and give him cup of tea and biscuit, she asked me last night if I've thought about giving him tea as he's growing up? Not sure where that came from ha, but she said I used to have it before bedtime when I was little? She also said he'll be old enough for a biscuit at 6 months and I said OH NO he wont, dont want him having anything like that just yet.

Burstinbug, we can console each other going back to work. Just dont feel ready yet, still in my maternity clothes and my wardrobe is empty, nothing fits me properly. Somebody asked me the other day how long I had left? so i still look very pg. At least your a size 12, god I'd love to be that size, I'm verging on an 18-20 bottom and 16 on top. Thank god for elasticated waist bands I say!

BigHotMama · 24/01/2007 09:21

Oops crossed posts there Olivo and Booby. Hope you feel better soon Olivo, and Booby not sur ewhat to suggest about the rash hun? I'd ring midwife/HV just to be on safe side, its probaby nowt.

dressedupnowheretogo · 24/01/2007 09:29
