Morning Ladies, its a bit quiet on here aint it? You all busy today?

Well gone back to Slimming club and lost 6lb this week so am chuffed. Going to gym later as mom offered to have ds for an hour yipee!

Booby, how mad Jackson has been doing the same 'mmmmm' sound as Cj, couldnt figure out what he was trying to tell me? I know he's teething so maybe its a frustrated cry of pain bless 'em.

Congrats to Holly & Ellis rolling over

Am on the lookout for a baby walker anybody got one yet or know of a good model/brand?

eenybeeny · 17/01/2007 13:38

hi all! how are you? I am alright! Very good actually, Alex is doing really well. He isnt rolling over yet though and I wish he would I want to see it!

Booby I totally understand about wanting to be pregnant again, I do too. I am heartbroken to the point of tears that Sal insists we can never have any more children. I would quite happily get pregnant again now.

Pink we got a digital camera for about £20 second hand - if you can manage it do it because you will get so much more back from selling on ebay, it would be a good investment.

I really want the baby einstein activity centre but we cant afford it.

Hope you are all well. I Will try to read everything on here and catch up on all I've missed. Love & hugs

stumpydoglooksforwardtospring · 17/01/2007 15:11

hello everyone. i'm going through a very tired phase right now, i think lack of sleep is catching up on me. my dd age 3 still wakes up most nights and reuben has been waking a few times at night, after being so good for ages. i think teething pain's affecting him. olivo, 9 days in hospital you must have had a really bad time. pink- congrats on caleb's first tooth. btw i might try anf find the emergency c section thread too

sarahlou1uk · 17/01/2007 15:33

Eeny - I fancied the Einstein centre also, but I have made do with a Graco one from Ebay seller for £30. Molly loves it!

stumpydoglooksforwardtospring · 17/01/2007 15:39

i've only just found out about the new membwers profile pages. seen yours pink. has anyone else done one yet ? i'll try soon

olivo · 17/01/2007 17:04

hello everyone.

stumpy - the c-section thread is under feeling depressed, made me feel quite a bit better (in a warped kind of way!) that other people have been through similar things. My long stay in hospital was mostly cos of dd - i was officially discharged after 6 days but they said it was probably easier to stay in as dd was in scbu and I had just been able to start bfeeding her (she as being tube-fed before that)

have been having a bit of a low day - just skip this bit if you want! firstly, my AF has arrived - I thought I could stave it off for a few more months as i'm still bf, but its caught up with me. seems heavier than ever before( sorry if TMI) but i've never had a rell period in years as always been on the pill since my early 20's. also, have turned really clumsy - in the last 3 days i have broken 3 glasses, a pc and last night i scalded my leg by spilling boiling water when i was trying to warm a bottle for dd in my bed. i'm not sure if its just tiredness or what but i feel . also, dd seems to have been on hunger strike today - she will hardly bf and she wont take any ebm or formula either.

sorry to go on and on.

eenybeeny · 17/01/2007 17:08

Olivo sorry you are struggling at the moment. I really feel for you, I still feel upset about some things about Alex's first days and it wasnt as hard as yours. Dont worry about going on! We are here for you!

Stumpy just going off to check the members page...

eenybeeny · 17/01/2007 17:12

Can someone please link to this member profile thing I cant find it!

stumpydoglooksforwardtospring · 17/01/2007 18:01

eeny - site stuff - new member profile facility. after it's done mners can click on a name and see the poster's profile
olivo - sounds like the right night for lots of chocolate, a glass of wine, lazing on the sofa and reading magazines

burstingbug · 17/01/2007 21:23

I need to catch up with the thread later but thought I'd share this with you........
I've just got my 3rd AF visit since Joe's birth, despite fully breastfeeding!

Snowboo · 17/01/2007 22:48

Hey all! Not much time today, house guest who is encouraging dh to get pissed (cos he needs encouraging!!!!) NOT.

Well, he has woken me up the past two nights calling me by other females names. Thing is, i'm guessing its a cartoon he watched with ds1. So i'm mega peed at him right now. But he is paying for me to go to The Sanctuary!!!!!! So excited but have to wait til APril Wish i could take you all and let you all have a day of peace and relaxation. We all deserve it!

Pink, haven't seen you on MSN, hope you ok love.

I have now given away a lot of Austins baby things, bath/swing/moses basket and blankets. Feel strangely pleased about it. Now mil can't keep trying to change my mind, she should get the hint!!.

PinkTulips · 17/01/2007 23:43

Snow, dp is monopolating the pc for his music so no point logging on to msn for just five mins..... i'm fine though, bloody shattered but better than i was. have finally managed to convey to dp that if he doesn't start pulling his weight i'm leaving and he's actually getting up in the mornings and doing his fair share now

your houseguest sounds like a twat.... hope he leaves soon babe! (know how you feel about the baby stuff... can't wait to get rid of ours, am keeping special stuff for when sarah has kids but the rest is going to be sold asap..... i'm done!)

i'm so shattered, caleb was awake half the night crying with his teeth again and had mom and toddler group at the soft play place so i'm asleep on my feet now!

olivo, hope holly feeds soon for you babe, try not to worry too much, she could just be teething as lots of babies can't stand the pressure of sucking on their gums when they're got teeth about to break through. still frustrating though and i hope she's better for you tomorrow.

eeny, sorry i haven't emailed.... see above as to why i'm not able to go at pc for more than 2 mins at a time!

olivo · 18/01/2007 09:49

morning!
thanks all for your support. feeling a bit better today although shattered, dd was up lots in the night. i think she may have a slight cold as her nose is a bit snotty and she has a little cough. maybe this is stopping her feeding as much? she hasnt wanted much this morning or during the night.

bursting - 3 AFs? I guess I got away lightly with one then!

PT - could be teething i guess, will have little look and see if anything is going on!! hope caleb isnt too grumpy.

snow - hope your houseguest isnt around for too long but the sanctuary sounds fab - i was reading about it the other day. i'm v v !

stumpy - took your advice and indulged in (lots of) chocolate last night! too tired for wine!

off into town today to see what is left in the sales and meet dh for lunch. catch you girls later

NbgsYellowFeathers · 18/01/2007 14:35

Hi everyone.
I did start a post yesterday but then the laptop decided to turn itself off!
I'll try to remember what I put.

BHM, we got ellis the Chico UFO baby walker in green from Kiddicare. Its reduced to £37. He's been in it a bit and seems to enjoy it. Hes also started to move in it a bit now.

Eeny, pleased to see you. thought you'd disappeared! I'm sure Alex will roll soon but remember he's sittingon his own now and thats a big acheivement! IMO thw sitting is much better than the rolling.

Olivo, pleased that your getting some reassurance through reading threads. I think your very brave reading about births. I still cant bring myself to do it yet. I'm also very jealous about your one AF! I've had loads since!

Snow, how you doing now? Are you feeling a bit brighter? If you need to have a chat, I'm usually on msn. Have a good rant at me

Pinky and Stumpy, am with you on the knackered front. My eyes constantly feel like they have metal weights attached to them!

I took Ellis to clinic on Wednesday. He's now 14lb 10oz and the HV also confirmed that it is his incisors that are coming through and she said that this could be contributing to him not sleeping. Apparently babies dont like laying on their back when teething as it aggravates them more. So she said to elevate his cot. We're already doing this anyway but it maybe an idea for the rest of you whose babies are teething.
I also think we've now cracked the weaning. Yesterday he had courgette which he actually finished off and today he's had 3 cubes of apple, so I'm very pleased. He's also been having a chomp on rusks!
Last night was lovely too. We had a lovely meal and James Bond was brillant. No one told me to take in tissues to wipe up the dribble from my chin when Daniel Craig was on!!!!
My poor mum ended up stopping over though cos we were back so late but its very rare we get out without the kids so it made a lovely change.

dreamydowler · 18/01/2007 14:36

hi all where is everyone today?? Just completed my profile page and added a couple of photos. I am full of cold at moment and feeling really sorry for myself. Had a couple of the kids off with tonsilitis too. My god what a blustery day. One of my sisters garden fence blew down while my other sisters car has been wrecked by the roof of their daughters wendy house crashing through the windscreen. Hope everyone well and hi to all the newbies.

BigHotMama · 18/01/2007 15:59

Hi all

Yellow, are you doing BLW with Ellis? Sounds like he is enjoying it. Good thing he's having veg too. Jackson hasnt tried savoury stuff yet and I know I should be doing something as he'll get a sweet tooth like his mom . May mash a carrot or some potato, did you mash the courgette? Thanks for tip on the baby walker.

Your all talking about an AF visit? Not sure what AF stands for? (bit tick!)

I just cant believe how quickly Jackson is growing and how quick time is flying, he'll be 6 months in 4 weeks, I cant believe it and the thought of going back to work makes me shudder. Only 4 weeks though so I'll be back with him full time after Feb. Anyone else going back to work soon?

Really windy here too Dreamy, and my DH is a scaffolder so he's finished work early today and gives me chance to go make my slimming world quiche yum yum. havent seen your profile yet will have a good look at them later x

Hope everyone else good x

olivo · 18/01/2007 17:16

BHM - Af is your period. i've been feeling badly done to as i've just had my first period even though i'm still breastfeeding - I thought they wouldnt come back til i'd been stopped for a while. obviously though , i've got away quite well as others have had several!

anyone know where i can find any info on blw? havent thought about weaning yet but mentioned this to my hv and she didnt really seem to know much.

eenybeeny · 18/01/2007 18:18

Snow how long is your annoying houseguest there?

Pink I am glad you have got the message across to your DP. I hope the good behavior LASTS!

I am fine, Alex is a little darling. I am having so much fun with him and he is laughing loads. Now I cant help it I just want him to get mobile! Roll!! Crawl!!! Something!!

eenybeeny · 18/01/2007 18:19

BHM - AF stands for Aunt Flo!

NbgsYellowFeathers · 18/01/2007 18:54

Olivo, theres a poster on MN called Aitch, I think shes Aitchtooh atm but she has a BLW website and it lists most foods and how to introduce, cook and give them to your baby. Its really good. If you give her a shout or start a thread asking for it I'm sure someone will give you it.

BHM, I'm not doing BLW. I dont think ellis is ready just yetb for that but when he is I'll go more down that route. The courgette I just sliced and then boiled for 7 mins ish, then pureed and froze.
He's just had a rusk mixed in with milk so I'm hoping now its starting to get established, he might sleep through.

Eeny, slow down! Theres plenty of time for the crawling, rolling etc. Enjoy alex as he is cos it wont last much longer. I get sad thinking Ellis will be doing those things soon

dreamydowler · 18/01/2007 19:20

Im enjoying Sophie-jane being a baby and dont believe how quickly she is growing time is precious you should make the most of every single second its too easy to wish them onto the next stage

olivo · 18/01/2007 19:45

thanks YF - will have a look on the weaning threads. dd still not taking milk most of today although she took a reasonable bf before bed. looks like i'll be up a lot in the night...

nwgreenmum · 18/01/2007 21:08

Hello all, I have to agree about not wishing them on to the next stage (ie mobility). My bro was visiting from the states, we left DD burbling and went to kitchen to make coffee, when he came back to DD he said "I like your child, she stays where she's put". I think his 4 had been running him a bit ragged.
I am quite jelous of those of you that have had an AF. I am really worried in case I am pg, and am thinking that I might go to GP to get a test. Maybe I am paranoid after this last pg and how I found out, though obviously she is now adored
Apart from that OMG the wind today . DH travels to North Yorks for work and he passed so many fallen over lorries.
I have been reading the BFW blogs and would love to give that a go - but am frankly a bit scared. I might look around for more advice on it... hmmm.

Apart from that I have done alot of lurking on various threads around here, trying to work out the etiquette (sp?) and I am not sure whether I do or not.

Right - must go now and unload nappies from washing machine. SOrry for length of post

lunavix · 18/01/2007 21:21

hi nwgreenmum, don't think I've noticed you on here before. I'm shocking, I go through spats of posting TONS then lurk for weeks. Always checking up on my dear friends though to check everyones ok

yf - sounds like ellis is doing really well bless him. Esp with huge teeth! Glad you got a night out too

eeny - I'm SO chuffed for you that you're enjoying alex. What a darling in the picture of him sitting up, and what a clever boy!

olivo - I'm not sure about blw to be honest, I went down the puree and mash meals with ds and he nearly choked on enough things then! Plus was hoping to start without a highchair as we don't have room for one...
Also I haven't had an AF yet... interesting that everyone else has!

BHM - is the slimming world quiche good? I love the lasagne crisps, to die for. And free!

Boo - dear god, kick them out!

dreamy - I HATE tonsillitus, ds has had it about 12 times and he's two and a half

I fancied the learn around static walker thing myself but can't afford it. Got the playground instead and haven't got it out the box yet duhh.

Right a question for you all ladies - does everyone's lo have a bedtime yet? We're struggling with dd and naps/bed. In a typical day she wakes between 5 and 7 for a feed but then goes back to sleep in our bed, usually I put her back in her crib if I remember. She will stay asleep for anything up to 10am, depending on how loud ds is coming in first thing! She may sleep again at 11, or 12, or 1... but it doesn't seem to bear any relation to when she got up, or indeed anything at all. Some days she'll have three good-ish naps, some days two 20min dozes. But what I do know is she is getting very overtired. She goes red in the eyes and screams at the top of her lungs - and as our friends are finding out it's hideously loud, louder than any other baby we know! In the evening, she tends to fall asleep around 8.30 after screams, then wake at 9 screaming, and mix screaming with feeding until 10pm (all red eyed from being tired but can't seem to sleep) she then feeds 10 - 11ish and falls asleep between 11 and 11.30. So it seems really random.

Snowboo · 18/01/2007 21:33

Well house guest is dh's cousin. She is nice but clumsy, doesn't think before she speaks and doesn't listen to anything you say!!!! This morn caught her trying to feed baby branflakes and cow milk!!! WTF???? ANd she a trained GP.... Oh how the mind boggles.

Well, the wind has left part of our garage roof in our neighbours garden. One of their crickets (food for the gheko) has escaped and made up camp in our kitchen so roof for cricket seems a fair swap to me!!!

And to top it off i dropped my nice pebl phone in my red wine 15mins ago.

Oh baby crying now so must be off!!!

Catch up later.......
