Calm, if you get to be on a Dec post natal thread with a Dec baby, does that mean I can join when I have a Jan baby? Feeling very sorry for myself and am totally convinced I'm going to be induced again, which will be Jan 8th!

So glad you're doing well and Amberli is settling in and putting on weight. How's dd1 finding all the changes?

Olihan · 01/12/2006 14:44

Duh! [braindead emotion], that should have been Calm, if you get to be on a Dec post natal thread with a Nov baby, does that mean I can join when I have a Jan baby? Obviously .

Loulou000 · 01/12/2006 17:58

But aww, if you all go over to postnatal thread when you've had your babies, we won't hear all your news! Will just have to add this one to my watch list, and hurry up and get postnatal myself.

Calmriver · 02/12/2006 10:51

Oli and Loulou..

You make me laugh. Of course we are a family guys no matter when our babies are born..we all know each other...I wouldn't know the first thing about ANYONE on the November thread! We are still Dec due mums!!!

DD1 is coping, but has been having horrible nightmares and waking up continuosly during the night really angry and frustrated, kicking her legs and going a bit loopy...hopefully will be short lived! Otherwise she is amazing, and loves to hold her little sister and kiss her all over her face.

spinasnowflake · 04/12/2006 11:02

Putting this on watch too....just maybe that's the MAGIC last thing to make me post natel too

Big hugs to Mummys and little kisses on foreheads to babies!

satinshoes · 04/12/2006 11:10

I've just put this on watch too....Hopefully not long

jabberwocky · 05/12/2006 10:51

CR, ds1 has been throwing the mother-of-all temper tantrums every evening. They are lasting about an hour In between times his behavior is about as normal although crankier than usual in the am.

Had to wake ds2 to feed him tonight (I really hated to, but we're still trying to get weight up) and now it's been 4 hours since he really settled down again. Of course, part of it is 2 episodes of leaky diaper. Even the preeemie size are hard to snug up atm.

yawn...

Calmriver · 08/12/2006 14:06

You can see this is post-natal....

Where have we gone! Busy moms!

DD1 is also behaving a little unfavourably ATM, but hoping she will come right soon. It is hard juggling the two Jabber I know..It's all the sharing attention, with a boob/bottle in the mouth! Are you guys breastfeeding???

Trying to sort out the 'one bigger than the other' thing at the moment, but slowly coming right...

I am starving again!

My CS cut is still very sore, and getting around is hard. Are you still on painkillers??? I have tried to go without them, but battling...not sure if it's because it's my 2nd CS though!?

Want to attach some photo's!??

OP posts:
jabberwocky · 08/12/2006 18:40

I've got to learn how to do photos

DS1 has been much better yesterday and today. It's been so hard for him He was crying in bed the other night and said "I don't like [ds2]!" I just hugged him and told him it was okay not to like his brother, but maybe someday he would. Things seemed to get better after that.

cs scar okay here, but I did take my painkillers for the first two weeks and ibuprofen still. With the first one I let myself get in pain, then it was hard to get pain-free/comfortable again.

accessorizechristmas · 09/12/2006 13:54

Hi guys
Sympathise with the ds1 problems, jabber, my ds threw 2 massive tantrums yesterday and then this morning was at it for an hour before dp took him out of the house at 11 and they're not back yet! He doesn't seem interested in me at all, it's like I don't exist since I came out of hospital. And I just have no energy to even think about it that much as milk's in and I'm struggling with feeding at present. Bruising from stitches pretty uncomfortable now and the piles OMG!! Course sitting down for hours at a time doesn't help.
DS2 is absolutely gorgeous though, can't help stealing looks at him all the time...

magnolia1 · 09/12/2006 14:11

Hi Guys!!!!

Feels weird posting on a new thread

dd4 has been having major tantrums too and usually right in ds1's ear!
Ds1 is a real piggy but only gained half an ounce in 2 days so have to have him weighed again tomorrow. Dreading it in case he isn't putting on weight.

I am just taking ibrufen for pain now but my section scar is pretty sore still. I really want to do housework but can't

jabberwocky · 09/12/2006 20:16

Oh, magnolia, I know exactly what you mean. Our pediatrician has been quite militant about the whole weight gain issue and keeps insinuating that he really should be on formula I'm so put out about it. I mean, he gained 8 oz in 8 days ffs! She's just all freaky b/c he's under 7 pounds still. But ds1 wasn't even 7 pounds at full term - and my due date isn't even until the 15th. Guess I just make small babies.

Ds1 was doing pretty well, then had a fairly big tantrum at lunch. He informed me about 5 minutes ago that he had gone poopoo in his pants... dh took him upstairs to check it out. I was sooo hoping he wouldn't regress

accessorizechristmas · 09/12/2006 20:50

I'm really surprised they're so funny about weight gain & even more surprised there's pressure to ff ffs. Hope you both fight that, I don't understand why medical profs put pressure on when it's just not needed and makes no difference - what do they think, you're deliberately starving your babies? DS1 was born at 9lb but has struggled to put on weight ever since, he's actually lost some this year.
Hope the tantrums have died down too, ds1 kicked off again this morning but when dp returned with him he was Mr Angelic for the first time in days.
Feeling more human tonight as just had 1st poo since the birth, tmi I know but such a relief! DP has gone out, I think I will put a sticker on my top so he knows when he gets home, I've been moaning all afternoon!!

Stitches are burning every time I wee, but I think this is small potatoes compared to section - Magnolia you are kidding about wanting to do chores aren't you (ac wanders off to do some chores nonetheless..can't sit down for too long, it's painful!).

Calmriver · 10/12/2006 11:00

So nice to know you're all going through the same things! DD1 got 'time-out' 3 times yesterday for shouting and throwing things! I also know what you mean about being ignored...My first couple of days after hospital I got the same treatment...they are so mad with us!!!

She is slowly starting to come right 2 weeks down the road! She does love her sister though and keeps saying'whatta matter ittle one???'It's so cute I could eat her.

DD1 is gaining fast here, but she was only little to start. She is up just over an ounce every day! She is now 5lbs 2!

Have any of your first babies wanted a taste yet??? My DD shocked me by wanting a suck, to which I obviously replied NO and offered her a taste from my finger!

OP posts:
jabberwocky · 10/12/2006 13:43

ds1 is very curious, but hassn't asked to try it - yet! he threw an enormous tantrum or had a night terror or something lasst night. It went on for about an hour and I was having a panic attack before it was all over

OKay I've hit the VERY sore nipples stage. Somebody remind me how long this lasts. I started using those little gel soothers last night but ds2 seems to taste something? and won't latch on as well or as quickly. In fact on my most sore side he will latch and come off a couple of times which just increased the initial pain. Once he gets on it's not bad though.

magnolia1 · 10/12/2006 13:56

I have just got over sore nipples and found rugby hold better on the sore side.
Had ds1 weighed today and he is finally gaining. He has put on 3.5oz in 3 days so all that worry for nothing. I am not going to get him weight too often as It will just get me worried each time.

Dd4 is still throwing tantrums and wants dh all the time but am hoping it will pass.
Jabber I tend to have small babies too although ds1 is the biggest I have had at 6lb 8.5oz at birth and that was 3 weeks early so maybe he would have been a good 8lb if he went full term.

Anyone else up all night?? Ds1 sleeps great in the day then lets me get half an hour between feeds ect... at night Bloody knackering and dh keeps hinting if we had bottles he could help I can't be doing with the moaning but will stick to my guns

jabberwocky · 10/12/2006 14:09

ds2 gained 8 oz in 8 days and the @#$%@ dr. STILL hinted at formula

So, your lo was after mine and sore nipples are already over? It's the initial latch that's curling my toes, then it's okay.

northernmama · 10/12/2006 17:51

Just popping in to make sure I can find everyone post baby!!! No news for me yet I'm afraid!! Still hoping.....off to eat pineapple and walk the stairs...NM

magnolia1 · 10/12/2006 20:26

Awwww Jabber sorry your nips are still sore. Lanisoh worked wonders as did wondering around topless until I stared leaking everywhere
Nm: hope you come over here soon

Calmriver · 10/12/2006 20:32

Jabber, mine are still sore, They were sore for about 3 weeks last time and then they become like leather,,,,sorry!TMI,x

OP posts:
jabberwocky · 10/12/2006 20:36

Okay so mine were ok the first two weeks or so, now pretty sore for 3 or 4 days. Does that mean 2 more weeks of curling toes?

Calmriver · 11/12/2006 09:28

mmm, not sure!

I just have the problem where my one is so much fuller than the other, so I am totally off balance!! DD feeds from the small one, but it just doesn't fill up!?WHY!!!???She gulps from the other!

DD2 is up so much at night atm, with gripes and moans and grunts. Going back to bed soon!

OP posts:
magnolia1 · 11/12/2006 19:17

I have exactly the same with one boob bigger and more fuller, I think it's just a better milk producer It leaks twice as much as the other one too

ds1 had me up all night again!! But sleeps 2-3 hrs between feeds in the day
Dh still going on about giving a bottle in the nigh so I can sleep Tried to explain about nipple confusion but I think he is feeling left out I always give ds1 to him to sleep on his chest in the evening and he gave him his 1st bath ect...
Don't know what else to do?

jabberwocky · 11/12/2006 20:26

One bigger boob here as well. It's the same as last time. But the other is producing too so just hoping I don't wind up too obviosly lop-sided

Stick to your guns magnolia. My dh talked me into that when ds1 was just about 2 weeks. He had such severe nipple confusion that I had to exclusively express after that I saw on another thread where someone else is having thesame issue.

Speaking of expressing, the pain on my right side got so much worse today that I went back on the pain meds from my c-section! Called my dr.'s office and they agreed that it could likely be early mastitis. So, I'm expressing on that side as it's too painful to nurse and starting meds. Luckily other side is said better producer and lo is happily feeding from only that one.

What a mess!

TheOlihantheIvy · 11/12/2006 20:46

Oh the memories are flooding back now . I popped on for a quick nose as to how you are all doing and......whoomph, breastfeeding nightmares flood back! I can just remember those early days so clearly now, and the mix of feeling totally elated and unbelievably awful on an hour by hour basis. BUT, it's all worth it for the first smile - not long now til that for a few of you .

Now I honestly can't decide whether I want dc3 out asap, to get those first few weeks over and done with, or to stay put as long as possible so I don't have to face the reality of it all. I'm quite glad in a way that I'm bottom of the list, so I can watch all of you go through it first and come out the other end okay. It will reassure me that it's all normal!

Don't forget us on the antenatal thread though, we'll miss you all!
