thisis don't worry, celebrate!! In my in no way expert opinion I think they're all different. The seperation thing can last months so it must be different at different times for different babies.

About 2 months ago dd had a week where she wouldn't let me put her down or leave the room before going back to her more relaxed self. At that festival we went to she happily climbed on the laps of strangers without checking where I was but at the weekend wouldn't go near my dad. Funny creatures. I'm sure babyimpossible is just a confident little one!

More teething going on here, I can see one of her front top teeth just poking through. She wouldn't eat much yesterday but seems to be back to normal again today. But sleeping is still awful, awake every hour to 2 hours. I'm exhausted with it really, and now I've got mastitis, which I'm blaming on work because they didn't sort out anywhere for me to express. Doctor had given me a big dose of antibiotics to get on top of it, but I'm not going to rush back to work until it's cleared up completely. Not a great start to my return back but they were completely unprepared, I had no computer access to start with, and my BlackBerry and laptop still aren't quite ready to use! Typical county council efficiency!

I haven't had DD weighed properly for ages but on the home scales she's around 10 kilos.

Annarose2014 · 18/08/2015 16:07

thisis DS has never made strange and doesn't seem to give a damn who's holding him. He'll go to any stranger quite calmly.

He occasionally gives a little shriek when I leave the room but its not too bad tbh. Whereas a woman I know who's baby is the same age goes full on screaming if she dares to leave the room/gives him to anyone.

I suspect its just a personality thing.

catg83 · 18/08/2015 17:41

Hiya all.
Long time no type! I haven't been on in ages but it is lovely to read about what you have been up to and see some familiar names.
I know have a 8 1/2 month old son. How the hell did that happen !?! Hope you are all doing OK. We have teething going strong now. No actual teeth. Just the constant chewing and drooling and grizzling. xxx

Thisisimpossible · 18/08/2015 19:44

Thank you ladydolly and Annarose. That's made me feel a bit better about it all. I am hugely grateful that he's so chilled, but it was starting to worry me a bit too.

Welcome back cat! Lovely to see you again! DS is also 8.5 months and I have no idea where the time has gone.

caz have some Brew and Cake, that sounds rotten :(

MrsAukerman · 18/08/2015 21:18

Aw hi cat how are things? I was thinking about you just yesterday because I took ds to IKEA.

TwigletFiend · 18/08/2015 22:08

Ugh Caz, Cake for you. Mastitis sucks big hairy balls, as DPs nephew would say! Sad Hope ABs see it off quickly but definitely don't rush back to work, you'll be knackered for a few days even once the infection dies off anyway!

DD has been awake FOUR times already this evening. This doesn't bode well for my night! She did do a couple of painful sounding farts at third waking which I thought might fix the problem but alas no!

Thisis, BabyFiend also not at all bothered about being left except for the couple of days she was ill. Other than that she's been happy as a pig in er... poop whenever I've left her at nursery or with her DGMs.

Arkkorox · 19/08/2015 07:30

Woohooo put dd down at 7:30 last night and she's just stirring farting now! A full nights sleep was bliss. I love her to pieces but it's quite nice not to see her for a few hours bad mum

haventgotaclue1 · 19/08/2015 11:45

Yay!!! Well done baby Ark! Grin. We had a great night here too: 6:30 - 6:15! Am really hoping that the teething has eased off for a bit, although I'm sure I can see the 2nd one....

Welcome back catg83. We're also at the 8.5 months mark and the time has flown by Confused...

Dd definitely has separation anxiety either that, or she's very good at knowing exactly what she wants (me)....I'm pretty sure it's the latter sometimes as she can be a very cheeky monkey Smile

catg83 · 19/08/2015 18:35

Thanks for the warm welcome back.

MrsA I still use Ikea as somewhere to go if I have the car and nothing to do. DS still seems to love the lights.

Caz I have had 3 cases of Mastitis since DS was born and I am sending tea and sympathy. Hopefully getting on the AB quickly with knock it on the head.

Ark and havent Good work mummies! How I envy these nights! We are much better usually just having the one wake up for a feed but teething seems to have thrown that a bit. Up 4 times last night.

Annarose2014 · 19/08/2015 20:01

DS is now reluctant to sit down at all. He just wants to be standing the whole time. This of course means that he has to be either clinging onto the sofa or on to my legs!

When you try to put him sitting down on the ground he sticks his legs out straight and refuses to bend them!

The funniest thing today was when he was standing up grasping onto the sofa and he dropped his dummy at his feet. He splayed out his legs wide, and wobbling wildly, tried to keep hold of the sofa with one hand and reach down for the dummy with the other. DH said "God, its like watching a drunk trying to pick up a chip".

CazY777 · 19/08/2015 20:14

Thanks all for the tea and sympathy, it doesn't hurt as much now but the antibiotics are playing havoc with my stomach.

TwigletFiend · 19/08/2015 20:28

anna Grin

Glad you're feeling a bit better caz, hope your tummy recovers quickly. How much longer til your course is done?

Hello and welcome back cat!

DD woke a total of 11 times between 7:30 and 6:00 last night. I was knackered at work today and had a horrible day, no lunch break or time to express until 4:10 so I was hungry, feeling sick and had agonised boobs by lunchtime. Complained to boss when I got back into the office and he was very apologetic but it doesn't make you feel better, sadly! Still sore up under collarbones now from engorgement. DD also fussy again tonight and finally just dropped off but now scared to move in case she wakes and it starts all over again. Wah! Sad

CazY777 · 19/08/2015 21:39

Thanks Twiglet, I've got 4 more days of pills, 8 a day. Sounds like you've had a really tough day, thats crap that you didn't get a break. My DD is waking up loads in the night too, every night, I lose count how many times. Going to work after a night like that is such a killer. I'm trying to get hold of a HV to see if they have any suggestions. I've tried giving her a dummy but she just chews it.

happypotamus · 20/08/2015 09:38

Couldn't log on for a couple of days because of password resetting. My sleep-deprived brain struggled to come up with a new password I could actually remember!
My mum is here criticising my housework more than my parenting for a change. DD had her last settling in visit to nursery and starts properly next week.
Tuesday night she went to bed at 8, woke up screaming at 9ish but then slept until 3 (6hrs is an amazing stretch of sleep for her, she's only ever done that once before), then slept until 5 but was awake again at 6 so dozed in our bed for a bit longer. That was a great night for us, but last night she was waking up every couple of hours and taking 45mins or more to go back to sleep, so I had had enough of this by 4am. She is very tired this morning.

ladydolly · 20/08/2015 11:31

caz the ab's are probably affecting her too, dd suffered terribly when I had to take them. Feel for you both.

anna he is spot on!! Have you seen that buzzfeed about babies just being tiny drunk adults. Hilarious. I think that when I watch dd, she can't walk but will try and climb absolutely anything (much like me when I'm drunk).

Took dd to cinema yesterday, was my favourite part of the week when I was on mat leave but yesterday she discovered the stairs and was halfway up them before I got to her, she was so fast!! I spent the entire film chasing her up and bring her back down...

happy Last time my mum came to stay her declaration about our house was "I am sure it will all be sorted by the time he's crawling". Angry

ladydolly · 20/08/2015 19:47

I'm getting a cleaner when we move in a few weeks, I don't think I've been this excited since that little blue line appeared.

Funny thing in the supermarket : she was sitting in the trolley, pointing and me then pointing at food on the shelves, talking at me. It was very much like she was saying 'buy that mummy, buy that.' She made me laugh.

caz hope you are feeling better.

TwigletFiend · 21/08/2015 00:05

Another grim night on the cards here. I went out for a while and DD woke up at about 10, so of course DP took her downstairs with all lights on, TV on etc and now I cannot get her to settle again at all. I am so tired I could cry. Every time I put her down I get halfway across the hall and she's up again crying. It makes me want to never leave the bloody house because I can trust him to give settling her a good go. I don't mind if he gives it a proper try and then decides to wait for me but at least keep her quiet and in the dark ffs!

Arkkorox · 21/08/2015 07:43

Oh god twiglet that's annoying. DP will only bring her into the lounge if she's crying so hard she can't breathe, it distracts her so she calms down then we can resettle her but I came home from dinner at a friends the other day and he had been sat in her pitch black nursery with her for an hour and a half while she laughed at him Grin

ladydolly · 21/08/2015 08:04

I don't think we've ever taken her out of the bedroom after 7pm, we just go quietly mad in the dark while she mocks us.

4.30 start today. She got another 1/2 hr at about 6 but is just totally crazy today. Mama not so much. Zzzzzz.....

CazY777 · 21/08/2015 08:46

Thanks happy and ladydolly, I am feeling a lot better. We're off on a 4 hour journey today to see MIL as she's still in hospital, so I hope I'm going to be alright.

Slightly fewer wake ups last night, only 1 between 7 and when I went to bed and then she didn't wake up till 1ish. I tried to put her back in the cot then but she just woke up again so I let her stay in the bed as usual. I think I have created bad habits but I'm just taking the path of least resistance so I at least get some sleep. She woke up lots after that. Don't know how it's going to go this weekend as we're sleeping in single beds so she will have to sleep in the travel cot all night. And I'm dreading going back to work next week as well, I just don't think I can cope with a demanding job on such bad sleep and there's always personnel problems to deal with in my team (I didn't chose them!) which is just so draining all the time and I don't have much patience at the moment.

Annarose2014 · 21/08/2015 10:12

Twiglet thinking about you this morning.

We had a shit night too as he woke numerous times. I'm shattered. But there seems to be some roughness along his teeth ridge so I guess its finally the first tooth arriving!

And today has been a bit hairy - he's only just gone down for his first nap now.

Will have calpol at the ready tonight.....or do you think I should get out the big guns i.e. Baby Crack?

happypotamus · 21/08/2015 17:01

Last night DD woke up at 10.30ish (again ruining my reading in bed, the main perk of having banished her to her own room!), then slept until 5, then went back to sleep until just after 6. Probably her best night ever and the first time we have had 2 decent nights in a week.
