That's great happy long may it continue, ds1 sometimes wakes because he can't find his pillow (it's always under his head!!)

catg83 · 24/08/2015 07:37

Woo hoohappy.

We have a tooth. Seems to have appeared on the drive home from London yesterday. A teeny tiny sliver of white on his gum. He is doing a very adorable thing where he puts his tongue out to feel it.

Greenstone · 24/08/2015 11:56

Hi everyone, dipping back in finally after appearing on THE LIST...was about to NC then decided I couldn't be fucked.

Lol at the leap description! DD2 likes to play in piles of laundry and artfully drape everything over her head with a smug air of one who knows what she's doing. Yet to connect foot to sock though. (DD1 at 3.5 still gets cross every single morning because she can't quite get her socks on right 'the ankle isn't straight...wahhh')

Thisis ????your existing routine with DS sounds great and totally fine - I have long been a champion of the buggy for naps. DD2 does mostly sleep in her cot for naps but that took a lot of work and coaxing and was mainly for logistical reasons. We were away all weekend and she had all her naps in either buggy or car and it was so handy.

HAPPY!!! OMG - she can sleep! That's amazing, you must feel so great, are you busting out the champagne? DD's sleep was pretty shocking while we were away but that's not too surprising I suppose. Seem to have temporarily gone back to 2 night feeds...I do what must be done. I really don't know when she will ever sleep through off her own bat, despite how tired she must be from all her moving around.

catg83 · 24/08/2015 12:43

DS currenttly been asleep for 2 1/4 hours. After an hours chores I sat down to watch TV knowing he would be up soon. An episode of Sons of Anarchy later an die is still asleep. I have checked and he is still breathing. Must be tired from visiting family this weekend. x

haventgotaclue1 · 24/08/2015 12:47

WOO HOO Happy Grin, that is great news!

catg83 - you made me smile Smile - we've got Netflix and am contemplating doing the same with an episode of Prison Break (just discovered it and we're hooked, but think DH may kill me if I watch one without him Wink)

Thisisimpossible · 24/08/2015 13:25

Woohoo happy! That's great news!

Cat congrats on the tooth!

Hi Greenstone Smile nice to see you back Smile Sorry if I'm being really thick...what's the list, and NC? And I've given in this lunch time. I couldn't deal with the screaming and the time it was taking to get him down, so he's gone back into the buggy and went off to sleep in under 3 minutes. I am really enjoying the peace Smile

haventgotaclue1 · 24/08/2015 13:32

I really don't get babies. How come that 9 / 10 my dd will do 30 min naps. However, 1 / 10 (like now) she's 1 hr 40 mins into a nap?! I'm gonna be thrown for the rest of the day as I've got no idea if she'll be able to squeeze in another before bedtime. .. Confused

MrsAukerman · 24/08/2015 13:52

I try replacing the word "babies" with the word "people" and see if it still makes sense. They're only young people. My sleep required are very different from my husband's and also vary from day to day.

catg83 · 24/08/2015 14:11

havent We ended up having 2 3/4 hours this morning. He missed lunch and I doubt we will get another nap before bedtime. Yesterday he went down for 2 hours total all day. x

Thisisimpossible · 24/08/2015 15:07

So, DS is still fast asleep in his pushchair and I daren't move or make a sound, the peace is so delicious. Which is fine, except that it means I am sitting at my laptop as that's the quietest thing I can do, and the temptation to do retail therapy I can't afford is just too tempting!

Arkkorox · 24/08/2015 15:12

thisis i just did that. Got some gorgeous jumpers off H&m

Strawberryfield12 · 24/08/2015 15:24

DD still has 18 days till leap 7 but I cannot see her doing all the abilities from the list in a month time. Although the leap 6 currently is happening as promised. She has started to show the attitude and can indeed go in a space of minutes go from the loveliest baby in the world into complete pain in the neck. She gets really stroppy when something doesn't happen according to her. Good job that she laughs when I repeat her whining, hopefully not all is lost.
Other day she kicked off in pure frustration because I was trying to help her with eating massive flat peach, she was holding the whole thing and for a moment looked like she was struggling I should stop fussing around her and let her be really.
Now that DD has all 4 front teeth out she actually looks more like a little child not baby.

Thisis online shopping is a complete pest, I would be flooded in money if there wasn't one as I hate shopping in real shops. Then again finally I have +/- wardrobe thanks to it. The other day I was going through my accounts and over 90% (!) of money I end up spending online. Be strong! :)

ladydolly · 25/08/2015 12:05

We're back!! I wish these dad attacks would piss off, I need you guys!!

dd back at cm yesterday after weeks hols (for cm, not us). She was really upset when dp dropped her off and think it took a while to calm her down. Same at pick up. Then she was really grumpy and moany all evening, up alot in the night (she wouldn't eat dinner so probably hungry) and unsettled still this morning. She started to look worried when we got to cm but I put on my happy, excited voice 'ooooh look at the toy car' etc and handed her over and she was fine. Can someone reassure me it's because of my happy voice and not because she loves dp more than me???

happypotamus · 25/08/2015 12:13

Thank god for that, MN is back.
It's DD's first day at nursery and it is so quiet here without her. I was struggling to waste time and distract myself without MN! I went back to bed as she woke me up every 2hrs overnight, am still in my pyjamas listening to loud music and contemplating housework. I'm getting my hair cut this afternoon (a necessity rather than a pleasure, I actually hate getting my hair cut). Tomorrow I was going to meet a friend for lunch but she cancelled today so I need to make some plans.
Yesterday I finally managed to access the online shift rota for work. It suddenly seemed a lot more real that I have to go back. 3 weeks today is my first 13hr shift. 4 weeks from yesterday will be my first 12hr night shift. I may have actually cried reading it Blush :(

Arkkorox · 25/08/2015 13:47

Oh happy that's grim.

I couldn't believe MN was down last night, dd up till 10, me at the end of my tether and having a huge fight with DP meant that I had a sodding panic attack at midnight. Then dd woke up for the day at 5 Sad

Just settling her down for a nap now so I'm going to have a nap and catch up on MN
and probably cry a bit more

Strawberryfield12 · 25/08/2015 14:07

Happy I would say enjoy those last 3 weeks, catch up on everything you couldn't do this year because of taking care of a baby 24/7. Imagine how many of us would kill for being in pyjamas at midday, doing f... all with a loud music on. Make sure the weeks before you go back to work you treat yourself so that you are full of energy, it should help with those first long shifts.

Arkk Brew Cake and Wine if necessary, hope everything sorts out by itself.

Strawberryfield12 · 25/08/2015 14:10

DD is really clingy and moany today, cannot get anything right for her. Considering to have loud music on to offset all the noise Hmm

catg83 · 25/08/2015 15:05

DS has had a super long morning nap again. Yesterday he didn't sleep again until bedtime so we ended up with super overtired grump. Will see how we go tonight.

ladydolly I like to think when they go to others easily it is because they feel safe and secure and know you wouldn't put them in danger. Well at least the is what I convince myself when DS goes to every little old lady that wants a cuddleHmm

Thisisimpossible · 25/08/2015 15:44

Hooray hooray! God, I've missed you all. I had no idea how much time I spent MNing until it went down. Loved the Gin message. I think we should adopt it.

Anyway, this is what I was about to post when it all went tits up:

Ooh, I hate real shops too unless they're tack shops. I can ALWAYS be persuaded to visit a tack shop Grin I agree strawberry the online stuff is a nightmare, especially when it's cheap. Unfortunately there are online tack shops too Confused

lady of COURSE it was your happy voice Smile You were being a good mum and making it all ok. And ditto what cat said. Don't fret, honestly xxx

Hugs Ark and happy and Cake

haventgotaclue1 · 25/08/2015 15:53

DD made me laugh today - she's definitely developed an attitude since leap 6 Grin. So at lunchtime, she pretended to throw herself out of her highchair when I took away her beaker of water that she was pouring all over herself. She literally flung herself to one side and had a right hissy fit until I started laughing at her!

Arkkorox · 25/08/2015 16:33

Thanks guys Flowers

Think dd is poorly, 6 dirty nappies today which is triple her normal amount

Annarose2014 · 25/08/2015 18:47

Has she eaten anything new that might have gone through her like a bullet not agreed with her?

DS is a determined "I'll do it myself, thank you very much" eater. He rarely tolerates a spoon. With yoghurt but thats about it. Breakfast can be fraught if its not eggy bread day! Ready Brek all over the floor!

We're getting pretty imaginative trying to find things he can grasp in his hands. Stuffed ravioli is good, and spanish omlette with loads of random things chucked in. We make a lot of veggie fritters out of frozen baby veg from the freezer whizzed up. And the occasional fish finger is a godsend.

Anyone else have a very independent eater?

TwigletFiend · 25/08/2015 19:28

Waaah, we are back!

Ark handholding and Wine for you, hope you got some sleep during the day today and your domestic situation sorted itself out.

happy YAY for your full night of sleep! Fingers crossed there will be many repeats. I don't know if it's comforting or frustrating to know they can do it when they don't always, though!

Nice to see you back, Greenstone.

Anna, we have the opposite problem! DD so fussy at the moment and won't hold anything, just chucks it on the floor.

She is currently standing in her cot shouting and grizzling at me because she doesn't want to sleep, even though she's so tired. We have a similar nappy situation here Ark, really yucky mucus poops too and she's got a sudden nappy rash on her foof too Sad

haventgotaclue1 · 25/08/2015 19:33

Twig, do you think the nappy rash could be due to teething? DD had the same thing and it wasn't until my doctor friend told me it was a teething sign that it all made sense...apparently their saliva is really acidic when they're teething and as they just swallow it down it comes out in the pee and causes nappy rash.....

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 25/08/2015 19:34

Hooray mn is back and I had done the password change recently so was surprised down again.

My big baby turned 5 today so a day of boys toys lego building, Spiderman etc
