Oh no KitKat that must have been a shock, its so terribly sad what happened!

E is no way near one nap, nursery try and all that happens is he is too tired to eat his lunch then falls asleep sitting up. It's really annoying as its one if my work colleagues ignoring my request to put him down grrrr!

KitKat1985 · 24/08/2015 09:50

Thanks all. I know I'm very lucky really as I only have to be upset about what could of been, and I know there's a lot of families locally who are having to deal with the reality of losing someone in such an awful way. I feel sorry for the emergency services as well that are working on that site - what they must be dealing with must be horrendous. DH is still quite shaken up by it all. He grew up very close to that airport (literally walking distance, and all his family still live nearby) and it's all quite upsetting for him, with a real possibility that he may know someone who was hurt or died.

Moving on to a more positive note, are any of our LO's having a birthday this week? xx

LillyBugg · 25/08/2015 20:15

Oh wow mumsnet is finally back! I have had so many questions to ask you all over the last day or so and do you think I can remember them...nooooo. DS has first settling session at nursery tomorrow :( please hold my hand.

cookielove · 25/08/2015 21:07

Awww lilly he will be fine :)

ApplesTheHare · 25/08/2015 21:26

Good luck Lilly and let us know how it goes. DD's got one the week after next and I get teary-eyed every time I think about it Sad

polkadotdelight · 25/08/2015 21:47

Finally, Ive managed to reset my password! I could have happily throttled that Dadsec guy or whoever he is last night. DS is poorly and didn't sleep for more than 45 minutes at any one time without crying. We were watching tinypop at 4am and I really needed mumsnet lol!

KitKat1985 · 26/08/2015 08:31

Ahh lots of hand-holding LillyBugg. Let us know how it goes.

Oh no PolkaDotDelight. You poor thing. How is your DS today? I hope you both get some sleep later.

Jessica has her settling in sessions in 2 weeks time. She's only doing two 2-hour sessions though which isn't much, and then owing to really unfortunate timing the following week when I go back to work I have to do Mon-Fri 9-5 that week instead of my agreed flexi-hours as there's a training week I (and everyone else there) has to do, so she's got to go from two 2 hour settling in sessions the first week to full-time for 5 days the next week, so I hope she settles quickly! On reflection I wish I'd started her there a week earlier so she could have done a couple of full-time days whilst I was still off work so I could have stayed with her / gone in if she was really upset, but it's done now so I just hope it's okay. Yesterday I bought her a few bits and changed her wardrobe over to her 12-18 month clothes, as where she's quite tall 9-12 month stuff is looking a bit short on her. I also bought her a little backpack to take to nursery. :) Incidentally what so you think I need to send to nursery with her? They supply food and nappies. I'm thinking a change of clothes, her bottles / milk (although I've got to start the dreaded milk reduction soon - Jessica is a milk monster so that one's going to be hard) and her usual beaker with water in for her to drink from. I feel like I'm missing something. Any ideas? xx

Acorncat · 26/08/2015 09:03

We're still doing settling in at nursery and so far so good. He gets upset when the other babies start to go home so just have to be there sharpish.
kitkat In his bag he has a change of clothes, a sun hat, sun cream, nappy cream, calpol sachets, comforter, white noise maker and a zippy jumper for outside.

TeamEponine · 26/08/2015 09:12

DD has a bottle, dummy, comforter (a twin of the one at home) and sleeping bag that stay at nursery.

We provide her milk as it is a special prescription one, and also nappies. I just take a bulk load in every couple of weeks.

They provide food, drink, wipes, nappy cream, sun cream. So I don't need to think about any of that.

In her nursery bag I just put in a spare change of clothes, sometimes two sets, especially if she is doing a full day.

They should let you know exactly what to provide, but I strongly recommend leaving stuff at nursery if you can. I'm certain I'd forget stuff everyday if I were lugging it all there and back everyday!

Hope all of your little ones get on well with nursery. DD had three settling in sessions, and by the end of her first week she seemed totally settled and happy to go. She now loves it there!

She's been poorly the past three days. Think she's getting better, but I'm knackered and really stressed about how behind I am at work Sad

FATEdestiny · 26/08/2015 11:17

Hope the nursery session today goes well Lilly. Thinking of you.

I went to see Inside Out yesterday, has anyone seen it? I cried a lot! My nearly 6 year old loved pointing this out very loudly in a quiet cinema. Grrr.

cookielove · 26/08/2015 11:53

Our nursery provides bags so it may be worth asking if your nursery does before buying extra bits!

Make sure you take their comforter if they one though!

We went to a session at a gym today E loved it!

lilone1234 · 26/08/2015 12:12

Hope your DS is feeling better soon Polka and that things continue to go well for all the nursery babies!

I've seen Inside Out Fate, I also cried plenty!

It's been a few days since I posted here...

EllaBella is no longer a user here but has been replaced by MissMoo22 Grin My account was one of the ones on the list and while I wasn't too worried as the password was one I use for forums, it highlighted how much personal info I share or might share in future (baby's pics etc) on here and other places. So it has been a bit of an eye opener for me. I had the EllaBella account deleted along with all my previous posts because I wanted a whole new account completely separate from my usual email address etc so here I am....

I am pants at finding a nickname and the one I wanted wasn't available so considering I really only post here about M then I thought I would honour her with my username as it's what I often call her (without the 22).

So, back to babies....I can't believe some of the younger babies are walking already! M is nowhere near walking, nor standing! She can, however, make her way around the living room on her arse and get into all the things she shouldn't. I am really just enjoying her so much at this stage. She is becoming so crafty, like looking at me with a huge smile on her face while trying to cover the piece of food/lint/crap she has found somewhere which she knows she shouldn't have so I automatically know she's up to no good when I see that face.

LillyBugg · 26/08/2015 15:04

Thanks everyone, it actually went ok. They said he did cry quite a lot but there were more times of him being ok than there were of him crying, if that makes sense? He did sleep 1.5 hours and he did eat his lunch. He didn't really want his bottle. I don't think that's bad going really for a first session. And I managed to get my hair cut, about 5 inches off it, and also go for a swim. But now he's napping and I don't want to do anything at all because I had a nice relaxed morning!

KitKat1985 · 26/08/2015 17:05

That sounds good for a first day LillyBugg. As he gets more used to it I'm sure he won't cry at all. xx

holls2000 · 26/08/2015 21:13

b had his first day back at nursery today. He was thrilled to be back. All grins as we got out of the car and when he saw everyone. cried for about 3 mins when I left and then was fine. didn't cry at pick up. I feel better about him going back next week now. We then got home and he managed to trap his fingers in a cupboard door. Sad Sad i only turned my back for a minute.

KitKat1985 · 26/08/2015 21:30

If it makes you feel any better Holls DH dashed out the house to work this morning as I was letting Jessica happily play in the hallway. Turned my back for a bit whilst I was on my laptop. Next thing I heard was a thudding. Ran to hallway to see what had happened to find DH hadn't shut the stairgate properly and Jessica had gone on a climbing expedition and fallen down the stairs. Sad She's fine but I've told DH he needs to be more careful and I know I need to keep a closer eye on Jessica when she's playing.

MissMoo22 · 27/08/2015 13:58

We are crawling! It's about time. DS2 was playing with M on the floor last night and he was crawling really fast after a ball and she just went along with him. He's really chuffed that he was instrumental in her new achievement :D Now today she has followed me to the kitchen twice and tried to follow her daddy out the door to work. Time to get the stair gates bought and get the new kitchen floor down.

Older kids are back to school on Tuesday, M is really going to miss them :(

ApplesTheHare · 28/08/2015 18:13

Yay MissMoo that's great news! So sweet that your son taught her as well, he must be feeling pretty pleased with himself Smile

cookielove · 29/08/2015 07:39

Ahhh bless to the new crawling :)

E is a whinge bag at the moment wants everything he can't have grrr!

He head-butted me this morning and cut the inside of my lip, I did not react as it was a complete accident but oh dear it hurts!!

Acorncat · 29/08/2015 09:18

Very wingey here as well, I'm hoping it's a short phase! He had a epic meltdown in the bath every time I took the sponge off him to clean him, stops the second he gets it back. Same if he grabs my phone and he takes it back. His own toys are clearly boring him!

KitKat1985 · 29/08/2015 10:04

Ahh well done M! I bet MissMoo she starts doing everything now. Jessica was a bit late to crawl too and then once she started she was into standing assisted, then standing alone in a matter of weeks. Now she's taking first steps. It's like once they start moving they won't stop!

Hoping everyone has some nice bank hol weekend plans ahead. xx

polkadotdelight · 29/08/2015 20:40

DS is still dripping snot but Im pretty sure now that its teeth. Bizarre as it may seem, whenever he had a tooth coming through he gets a really runny nose! He is pulling his ears at times and is quite clingy with me (but did laps of the kitchen when DH came home from work!).

Im back at work very soon so have been trying to squeeze every last drop out of our time. When the weather has allowed there have been lots of park and beach trips. I really wish the weather had been better.

lilone1234 · 29/08/2015 21:47

Polka my DD gets a very runny nose with teething too. It is deffo a shame the weather has been such a wash out...I can't stand these odd one off scorching days here and there either, they creep up on you so you can't plan to do anything nice! But i've noticed the evenings drawing in now so feeling like that's it for summer! I'm hoping September will be what August should have been! Planning a BBQ on the 19th for DD's bday as the garden is the only place we can fit any number of people so the weather could well screw it all up!

So much to catch up on after a couple of weeks no access. i had no idea what is happenning, just thought I have forgotten my password... Took me some time to reset it. Can somebody please send me the list? Can not find it online...

So many intersting posts... I thought building and inserting shapes into holes comes later... I now have to try him with these... We got a set of duplo which we didn't buy and it was sent to us around his birthday but whoever sent it didn't put a card so we don't know whose that from!!

Do your little ones randomly waves at strangers and try to communicate with them?

I am in the process of making sure ds sleeps in his cot consistantly! So tiring...

We don't take anything to nursery at all. Just a change of clothes is left inside a nursery bag there which I change sometimes; everything else nyrsery provides.

I had around 2000 questions but now my mn account work I can't remember any of it.

Can anybody suggest a nice area to stay in lake district in a month or so?
