not pm they can't. thats the bit i find scary. that and the publishing of info.

Acorncat · 20/08/2015 14:30

I was on "the list", but not too worried yet as I have no details on my profile and I've never received or sent a PM. I've changed some of my passwords for other sites but tend to use different ones anyway. As far as I know email address haven't been published, that would unsettle me more. I googled my password and it just came up with the site the list was originally published on (I presume) and that's it.

How long are your little ones napping for during the day now?

I think DD is about ready to go down to just one. She was having two naps a day of 45-60 minutes each, but the second nap has become quite challenging, her bedtime more traumatic and her waking earlier. We tried just one nap today and she went to bed beautifully. Let's see how tonight goes though...

Acorncat · 21/08/2015 08:40

At home he'll have 2 naps of 1.5 hours but I think this is a bit long as it means he only sleeps 10 hours overnight. At nursery he'll only sleep 45 mins each but sleeps longer overnight. He still definitely needs 2 naps, he's tired within a couple of hours of getting up. I think when he actually sleeps better at night he'll reduce naps.

ApplesTheHare · 21/08/2015 09:43

Hi everyone

Not too worried about the hacks here, I don't think hackers are interested in any of us boring mummies, they obviously just have an axe to grind against HQ. Saying that, I've been locked out of mn for the past couple of days as I couldn't change password via the app, so it would be great if the hackers could cease and desist.

Team we're on 2 naps of max 60 mins (I wake DD from them) at about 9:30 and 1:30. Bedtime is 7 and dd sleeps until 6:30/7am. I can see how she's moving towards 1 longer nap though as 2nd nap is always more challenging and she's trying to sleep longer during the day.

Does anybody else feel like there are lots of changes coming up? DD turns 1 in 2 weeks and starts nursery in October. She's in the middle of dropping down to 2 milk feeds, and I also want to drop her dummy for sleep and ditch bottles at some point. She's also just about to start on medication which she'll need 3x per day. It all feels like too much at once.

PipersOrange · 21/08/2015 11:19

Ds has only had one nap the last two days, though one was a morning one and one was an afternoon one (that being said he has no routine normally so I can't imagine his naps would!). I know what you mean about change, he starts nursery in two weeks Sad I'm about to start my first ever job and am so scared I won't be good enough! Or that I'll hate it and regret putting him in nursery for it.

holls2000 · 21/08/2015 11:23

apples v wise words about the hacks and it being aimed at mnhq.

naps horrendous here. 40 mins twice a day, down from 2 hrs twice a day. b waking up grumpy and tired and whiny. not sleeping much better at night. Sad

Beccus · 21/08/2015 14:32

we keep switching between 1 & 2 naps. he was on 1 nap for a bit a couple of weeks ago, but nighttime sleep was dreadful and we went back to 2. last week I was struggling to get him off for his pm nap and also struggled to get him off for his am nap one day, so we tried 1 nap for a few days, but he seems tired again in the morning, so I now give him 30 mins in am and hopefully 90 min- 2 hrs in pm. 2 naps means bedtime is at 8 instead of 7....unless he got up at 520, like he did today, & I think we will still be on track for an early bedtime. whether he has 1 nap or 2 or whether he goes to bed at 7 or 8 doesn't seem to stop him waking up early

CumbrianExile · 21/08/2015 16:24

Daytime naps are all over the place here. Always have been though, I have no routine! But I don't mind too much as he sleeps at night.

I have a question - we are looking to move DS only cows milk in the next couple of week, but not sure how? We didn't change his formula and he is still on the stage 1. Do we introduce it one bottle a day? Do we keep giving it in a bottle or move to a sippy cup? I have no idea Grin

lilone1234 · 21/08/2015 16:55

Cumbrian - My plan for moving DD on to cows milk once she turns 1 is to use cups as I also want to wean her off bottles at the same time and to start with swapping one bottle with one cup of cows milk until she's used to it. She has cows milk on cereal already so I don't think she has a problem with the taste but if it's a complete fail i'll rethink and maybe try it in a bottle first or mix it with formula, gradually reducing the formula and increasing the milk. Haven't done it before though that's just the plan! I think it's going to be ditching the bottles that's going to be a challenge rather than the cow's milk itself.

Naps - DD can go longer between naps now and in the last month or so has dropped from 3 to 2 naps. Two naps is certainly still best all round but if we're busy she can manage on one so it probably won't be long until that's the norm, but i'm going to keep two as long as I can! Bedtime now is at 8pm and she generally wakes about 7am. Once she drops down to one nap the plan will be to move bedtime to 7pm and hopefully keep wake up time about 7am!

i have moved onto cows milk today. As am evil mummy and he only has one bottle, just went for it. he took whole bottle. Grin

FATEdestiny · 21/08/2015 22:59

Like Beccus, my DD swaps between 1 and 2 naps. She is happier with one nap from 12pm-2pm/3pm ish. But sometimes she falls asleep in the morning, so then has two naps. I never put her 'to bed' in the morning so if she sleeps she does so in carseat, pushchair or sometimes just on the floor in the middle of the living room.

After a good month toddling (what we call doing a few steps but mostly crawling/cruising still), DD is now consistently walking.

We are all very excited, especially big brothers and sister who's favourite activity is getting something DD wants and getting her to follow them all around the house carrot-on-a-stick style.

DD is loving building. She totally 'gets it' and while she can't usually get Duplo bricks to stick together, she knows the action to do to make it happen. Mega Blocks are much easier and she can build with them. Our massive Duplo collection is much more interesting though!

We also bought two baby keyboards and a drum kit out of the loft for DD. Watching her 'dance' is my fave thing of the day.

Please forgive me for the boastful post. I am just feeling mega proud of DD today (and have missed her 'cos she had a sleepover at Nana's last night).

LillyBugg · 22/08/2015 08:43

Aww fate that all sounds so cute! DS is quite a way off many of those things. He can put shapes through holes and understands the concept of building, but walking and dancing are miles away for us I think.

I tried him with cows milk a while ago to see if he would take it and he literally gagged. He never refuses anything so I was really surprised. So I have been adding it to his formula and plan to introduce it that way. I'm reluctant to switch to a cup from bottles just yet because I only introduced bottles regularly about 2 months ago. Plus I'm about to go back to work and put him in nursery so I don't want to take away a source of comfort from him. I was surprised re the gagging though because he will take cows milk in cereal. Strange child.

I had a poonami of newborn proportions on my hands this morning :( I can tell you lot because you understand lol. He hadn't pooed yesterday so I knew a big one was coming but oh my...I was breastfeeding him this morning and thought his back felt damp but figured he was just hot. I could smell poo so I thought great, he's finally gone. Put him on the floor and that's when I clocked it! Well...it was from his armpits on his back all the way round to his willy at the front. Not the way I had planned on starting my day.

Hope you all have nice plans for this scorcher of a day. Think I might put the paddling pool out when DS has his nap. Hope it's hot everywhere today and I haven't depressed some people who are scheduled for rain...

holls2000 · 22/08/2015 11:03

We are going for one nap today. yesterday he slept for 40 mins in the morning, then for 40 in car and then BIG MUMMY MISTAKE i let him sleep in car 4 till 5 so he finally went to bed at 9! today i am going to give early lunch then put him down for a sleep then we have stuff to do so shall stick him in the pram and walk into town. I am hoping a decent sleep at 12 is going to work if we are at home. keep fingers crossed!!!

FATEdestiny · 22/08/2015 13:41

Eeek Lilly - we don't often get poonarmi's anymore but when we do they are pretty grim to deal with. DD had a bout of D&V a few months ago and the nappies for those three days were horrendous.

Hopefully your DS slept well at 12 today holls.

ApplesTheHare · 22/08/2015 19:50

Woohoo cot your DD FATE Sounds like she's having a fab time Smile

Lilly poor you dealing with a poonami of those proportions!!! Where the hell do they store this stuff??

ApplesTheHare · 22/08/2015 19:51

Ugh, *for your DD, not cot. Stupid autocorrect!

cookielove · 22/08/2015 20:16

:)

holls2000 · 22/08/2015 21:40

slept 12-1.30. however he is still awake now. What am I doing wrong? Sad Sad Sad Sad

FATEdestiny · 22/08/2015 23:31

You're not doing anything wrong Holls, you just have an individual there who does his own thing. Round peg in a square hole and all that - if your DS likes a morning nap and an afternoon, let him have a morning nap. Maybe he was over-tired?

KitKat1985 · 23/08/2015 10:38

Ooh exciting Fate. Jessica is nearly there. She can take some baby steps before falling down. The past few days we've progressed to 8-9 baby steps in a row before falling down so I think we're really close to 'proper' walking now.

Naps are a bit hit and miss here. Trying to get Jessica to have one proper nap a day in her cot but doesn't always work. Some days she only has 45 minutes worth all day, other times 3 hours worth. She's very unpredictable.

Yesterday morning I had a (very rare) baby free day visiting a friend in London leaving DH and Jessica to have the day together, and DH managed to get her down for a nap in her cot in the morning. We had both been hoping she'd nap for about 2 hours (which is about typical this week for her morning nap) but she only napped for 1. So DH decided to leave an hour earlier than planned to go with her to watch the Shoreham air show with his family. An hour after they arrived was when the plane crashed into the road (for those who haven't seen the news there was a plane crash into the road at the show, and several people died). I actually cried this morning thinking about what would have happened if Jessica actually did nap for two hours like we had wanted her to do as they then both would have been on that stretch of road at that time. It was a real 'sliding doors' type moment to think how that seemingly pretty insignificant moment could have changed everything and I could have woken up this morning without them both. Thankfully they are both okay although DH is quite shaken by it all. I feel so sad for everyone that wasn't as lucky as us and got caught up in it all.

LillyBugg · 23/08/2015 14:14

Oh wow kitkat that would have upset me to. Lots of cuddles with little one today.

CumbrianExile · 23/08/2015 15:05

Gosh KitKat that is very scary. Glad everyone is ok. I agree with Lilly though, plenty of cuddles today.

Thanks for the milk advice. I think I will go Lil's plan, and move onto cups, and one bottle at a time.

PipersOrange · 23/08/2015 15:35

Oh KitKat how terrifying. Shoreham is 10 minutes from me. So so horrendous what happened, and to completely unsuspecting people on the road as well Sad

TeamEponine · 23/08/2015 19:00

Oh kitkat, that must have shaken you up terribly. I'm originally from very near to there and all my family are still in the area. I'm dreading all the names being released. It's beyond awful for anyone involved. Sad
