Morning all!

glorious whenever I have to make a big decision I sometimes find it helps to imagine myself in 5 years time and think what I’d like to say I did, IYSWIM. I’m not very good at change in general, so I find it helpful to think about the long-term implications from a different POV. Does that make any sense? Probably not! Best of luck whatever you decide, your boss sounds lovely! And glad E is settling in at pre-school, makes life so much easier I think.

Rat how is DS now? Sounds like you made a good start with potty training so he’s obviously ready – I’m sure he’ll pick it up really quickly when he’s better.

DDog is still with us but needs to go to the toilet every 1.5-2 hours. Which means I’m exhausted and stressed. DH is being his usual lazy self – told him this morning he needs to sort himself out and pull his weight but I’m not holding my breath. We’re supposed to be TTCing number 2 but I’m not sure I want to any more!

In more exciting news – ordered DS’ presents from Santa last night. What with the huge vet bills I’ve had to put off Christmas shopping so I’m ridiculously excited!

Can’t believe it’s only 8 weeks until they start turning 3. How on EARTH did that happen?

LetThereBeCupcakes · 16/11/2015 09:20

Oh and rat I meant to say well done on the assignment! I recently did a course through work – it was very intense (HND level course in a week) and I had 6 nail-biting weeks to find out if I’d passed. Thank goodness I did as I don’t think my nerves would stand doing a retake! Remind me what you’re studying?

Polyethyl · 16/11/2015 10:00

DD is mostly potty trained. Totally for wees, but unwillingly for poos. She saves up her poo till dawn, to do in her night time nappy. So on the occasions she poos in the loo there is general celebration and gold star sticker.
she's been offered a place at the school I wanted, and starts in January 2 days a week.
We have made the change from cot to toddler bed, which means that she's free to toddle to our room and climb into our bed when she fancies - so I woke up this morning to discover 3 in a bed.

She can tantrum with the best of them. The other week she lay on a pavement kicking and screaming, as commuters stepped round her, so I got a book out of my handbag and waited till she finished.

Generally we are happy.

glorious · 17/11/2015 14:08

cupcakes thank you that does make sense and I've found it a really helpful way to think about it. I think in 5 years I'd either be back where I am but more rested or starting something new. Neither sounds bad does it. It's just the transition I'm tying myself into knots about, and the upheaval of moving house, and moving DD from her lovely childminder, and our life in London. But would I regret those in 5 years? Probably not!

Gosh looking after DDog sounds exhausting. I'm sorry DP isn't pulling his weight.

What is everyone getting for Christmas? DD wants a violin (!) so she's getting a hand me down and I'm getting my husband's old one mended so I can learn and play with DD. She obviously won't really learn at any pace but is so keen to try I thought we should let her. I am not a tiger mother, I promise!

Hi all
Just popping on to say that ds was born on Wednesday morning, I was 38 weeks, he weighed 6lb 6 oz and everything went very smoothly. he was born at home in the pool as I had hoped and my labour was only about 4 hours long this time.

Dd is excited to be a big sister and mostly seems happy about it (probably because she is being allowed to watch obscene amounts of telly and has been taken out and spoilt rotten by grandparents).

He has been quite unsettled at nights, my milk came in today so hopefully he won't feel as hungry (this may be wishful thinking...).

Congratulations! How lovely, glad you're all well.

Feel free to share gorgeous newborn pics! Grin

snozberry Congratulations! Flowers

salt1 · 23/11/2015 07:29

congratulations xxxxx

glorious · 23/11/2015 17:29

Congratulations snozz! Does he have a name yet? I held a lovely new baby recently and it made me broody.Flowers

SnozzberryMincePie · 26/11/2015 12:04

Thanks for all the congratulations Smile

Everything's going quite well, ds is a little boob monster, which is a good thing as he is quite a tiddler. I have had a few problems with a blocked duct but fingers crossed it has sorted itself out now.

Dd is taking it quite well, she is excited about being a big sister. I am however feeling quite guilty about abandoning her as I am constantly feeding ds. She is being well looked after by dp and grandparents but I am missing spending time with herSad

Tugstonia · 26/11/2015 20:14

Congratulations Snozz! Lovely news :) Glad all going well and DD is enjoying being a big sis. I remember that feeling of guilt while feeding DD2 constantly, and missing my DD1, but pretty sure DD1 just enjoyed watching a LOT of CBeebies and getting lots of attention from daddy and the grandparents!

glorious · 11/12/2015 11:11

Helloooooooo?

Bet everyone is really busy pre Christmas. How is the course rat? And how is DDog cupcakes?

RatOnnaStick · 16/12/2015 09:48

Hi. We've been very busy this december, as everybody else I suppose. The course is going great though I'm stuck on the next assignment for now. I suppose it will come to me sometime over christmas and I can get it submitted at the last minute.

Last saturday was Dan's nativity play. He was a sheep Xmas Smile. He sang songs nicely and did his little dance with the other sheep and sneezed all over his face which looks great on the pictures. Joseph (aged 4) spoke his lines with fingers up both nostrils so Dan is in good company there.

We did a steam train Santa special which both boys loved. It was late afternoon so all the lights were beautiful and it was very atmospheric.

End of term on friday, can't wait. Both children are tired and coldy and not sleeping particularly well.

Hope everyone is ready for christmas.

meringue33 · 16/12/2015 21:27

Hi everyone!

Looking forward to Christmas. It's lovely to hear from you all.

Sorry about DH, Creepy. Congratulations Snozz! Welcome to the sleepless nights club (again!)

Think the last 7 months have passed in a complete blur. DD has severe eczema and doesn't sleep. She's been on a new antihistamine prescription for two days however and last night slept for six hours, an all time record!

Going "home" for Christmas to my parents, hoping to do some serious napping!

Everyone finished their shopping? ;-)

SnozzberryMincePie · 22/12/2015 15:55

Hello all, just popping on to say hello and happy Christmas to everyone.

It is dds birthday tomorrow, I can't believe that three years has passed already since our little babies were born.

Dd has finally got the hang of using the toilet and only wears nappies at night now.

Ds is a month old, he is getting bigger and more alert and looking after the two of them is quite a challenge. This week we have dds birthday as well as Christmas and I am shattered! I can't even get presents wrapped after dd has gone to bed as ds is attached to my boob all evening.

How is everyone else doing?

LetThereBeCupcakes · 23/12/2015 13:28

Hi everyone! Sorry for not posting, I rarely get to the PC these days and find it tedious to post much from my phone!

Happy birthday to your DD, Snozz - are you doing anything special?

Hurrah for a good night's sleep, meringue! It makes such a difference, doesn't it?

ddog is still with us, amazingly. Still being a PITA!

Really looking forward to Christmas now. DS is insanely excited!

SnozzberryMincePie · 24/12/2015 09:31

Same here Cupcakes, I read the posts and think I'll reply later when I'm not holding the baby then that never happens

Dd had a great day, she made us sing happy birthday every time she opened a present. The biggest hit was the playmobil swimming pool which she played with all day.

Have a great Xmas everyone!

LetThereBeCupcakes · 24/12/2015 10:45

Glad to hear the playmobil went down well, loads of people have bought some for DS for Christmas! He does have a couples bits already though

LetThereBeCupcakes · 24/12/2015 10:47

Sorry, phone playing up! Posted too soon.

DS loves the bits of playmobil he has.

He was up at 5 this morning, over excited! Can't blame him though, I'm excited too! Grin

glorious · 24/12/2015 13:16

Happy birthday snozz DD. They are all so big now.

Good luck with the assignment rat

cupcakes I'm v excited too! Currently on a train heading to place my family have rented for the week. DD has fallen asleep

January 2013 - my do it on my own!
MavolioBent · 01/01/2016 18:09

Goodness it's quiet here!

Ivy is 3 today Shock have no idea where 3 years went.

She is a little madam though. Still not potty trained but this is because she doesn't want to, she is more than capable just really stubborn Confused

She is currently pushing my 12 year old around...and he is just doing as he's told!

Happy new year to all of you and lots of Cake for all the upcoming birthdays

glorious · 01/01/2016 18:26

Happy birthday Ivy! E is exactly the same with potty training SadAngry

MavolioBent · 01/01/2016 18:46

Thanks glorious. They are a pain aren't they? Ivy had it cracked but then decided she didn't want to use the potty and managed to hold on for ages (before that she was making herself go to get smarties she appears to have major bladder control)

What are you with E re potty training? Am just trying to ride this out til she decides she wants to be trained. Bit worried tho as all the rest were out of nappies by now :(

SnozzberryMincePie · 01/01/2016 20:30

Happy birthday ivy!

Dd finally potty trained (or rather toilet trained) herself after months of resistance the week ds was born. My theory is that she was desperate for attention and shouting 'I need a poo' and everyone coming running was the only way she could stay in the limelight Grin

Has everyone had a good Xmas? We have but dds behaviour has been rotten, I can't wait for nursery to start back next week to sort her out...

RatOnnaStick · 01/01/2016 20:56

Happy birthday Ivy! Dan is next week, hasn't time flown? We had a nice Christmas, boys liked all their presents and nobody was murdered so all good I think.

Dan is 75% of the way there with potty training. We haven't stopped reminding him once an hour yet, towards the end of the day it can all go to pot and we'll have accident after accident and he is absolutely and completely fine with just pooing in his pants. He's getting there bitby bit but I'm not sure about sending him back to nursery next week in pants yet.

FWIW, Ds1 was 3.4 by the time he was dragged kicking and screaming into pants. He didn't care at all. Now he wipes his own bum and everythingGrin
