Ladies, thought I would do the new thread as the other one is taking forever to load up.

Just done a quick search on tongue tie and I'm wrong it isn't always clear to see. In an extreme case you can often see quite clearly due to the tongue being connected right to the tip.
There is lots of info on the net which may be helpful.

kayzed-you do take superb piccies Rosh is lovely-am going to try Sophie on toast later this month when she will be 7 months. Don't know anything about tongue tie though-the medics should be helpful.

Am v. of those named on the thread-I suppose I've changed my name too many times to have been mentioned. That is my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

Girls-I had the strangest dream last night-quite bizarre.............

Me and DH had a meet up with you lovely ladies and partners and when we arrived at the hotel kayzed was doing a car boot stall with Rosh and Chil but the 2 DC were the same size and kayzed was being both the stall holder and the customer so permanently hopping round the stall. Then we ended up sitting down for dinner at these candlelit tables and DH rushed to this table for 2 with his back to everyone and was v. unsociable. Then DD1 appeared having wee'd on the floor of the swimming pool changing rooms but when I looked at her I said she was having a miscarriage (?!?!). I then tried to clean up the wee with a towel that I had round me so was doing it naked and one of you lovely ladies was trying to cover me up.....................then Sophie woke me up luckily.

The festive smileys have gone so Christmas is well and truly over.

Right ladies, must go. Have a good weekend.

Hugs to all.

HC

LOL HC - you rival me for weird dreams

I had one the other night where dd was pregnant (!!!) and she went into premature labour. Luckily the baby was okay - it was the sweetest tiniest piglit (yes piglit!) yuo have ever seen. The we lost it down a hole in one of the sofa cushions...

Willnbel · 06/01/2007 21:59

Hey girls..
Irs bumpy here... I've had so many failed attempts to log on tonight.. I really hope this works. My computer packed up about four months ago and at last we've got a new one so i'm back on line!!! Can only log on when the little sprout goes to bed and his bottles are done, but its a start! I've REALLY missed this thread...

Bloss, Kayzed, Wallace, everyone... how you doing? So many names seem to have changed on here. Is Humphreys corner still on here?
I felt quite emotional logging back on.

Kayzed chick Ive got so much info on tongue ties if you want it. My William had quite a big one which had to be divided. He wasnt bf ing properly and couldnt stick his tingue out. My bf counsellor referred me to a specialist and the whole procedure took seconds. I can tell you loads more about it if you are worried or want more info x

William did his first roll yesterday at last!!! He is eating three meals a day and is huge!!! On 98th centile for height and weight.

God ive missed you all loads
Hope everyone ok.
xxxx )ps who is everyone!!!)

Wallace · 06/01/2007 22:00

Hi bel!!!! Nice to hear from you Married to the mob is Humphreys corner.

Willnbel · 06/01/2007 22:02

PS Kayzed.. Tongue tie makes the tongue look heart shaped rather than pointy.

Willnbel · 06/01/2007 22:05

Wallace! Hey girl how are you? How have things been? I'm so out of touch!

Wallace · 06/01/2007 22:09

Things are great - I'm really enjoying my wonderful baby boy

Photos of Leo here the most recent ones are the one in the blue bath seat, and the one in a nappy. They have grown up so fast, haven't they

KZ - I was so interested to see the pic you posted of Roshi (sooo cute btw). Aidan's tongue has a notch in the end too when he sticks it out. I was wondering a while back if he might have tongue tie and if that would explain why b/f was so agonising for so long. But then I read that his tongue wouldn't curl up when he cried and that he wouldn't be able to stick it out so I knocked it on the head. But if, as Us says, it's not always that obvious maybe he does have it? It would certainly explain a lot. I'd be very interested in any more info you get on this.

Hello Willnbel - we haven't met I don't think. I joined the thread a few months back.

HC - you were named on that thread btw! I'm sure it was you and not HumphreyCushion (she may have been named as well though - always got you two mixed up).

xx

KZ,ds2 was tongue tied and had it snipped when he was nearly 2yrs as his speech was poor.I have a pic of him with his tongue out and he looks just like Roshi.Don't want to blow it out of all proportion but i would get it checked.
I managed to bf him for 2.5 yrs too.

Welcome back bumpy, glad you are doing well!!

Btw KZ roshi just gets cuter each time i see her.

Willnbel · 06/01/2007 23:00

Wallace, I cant figure out how to look at your piccies. It keeps going on about cookies... I am useless!!!

I want to post a piccy of William, but havent got a clue how to do it. Ive got some that dh scanned into my documents but dont know if i could put them on or not!

Hello twinkle! its so long since I've been onto MN that i feel really out of touch. Are you a first time mum? I am and its taken me six months to get into the swing of things! I'm enjoying it loads now but the first eight weeks were pretty nightmare ish! (They would put me off having another one more than the birth!!!) I'm lucky now in that he sleeps through from about half seven at night to seven next morn, which ties in well with work too. Finding it hard to do three days a week though... I keep missing things! (like his first roll!)

Just out of interest... I gave William kiwi fruit yesterday and he's been sh**ting like a race horse today!

im gonna shift my ever growing arse away from the pc so i can get ready for bed, i think i need to start going bed early, im coming down with juniors cold he just recovered from! goodnight xx

Twinklemegan · 06/01/2007 23:52

Hi Willnbel - yes I'm a novice too. Our first few weeks were pretty hellish - horrendous problems with feeding etc. but everythings settled down now. Aidan's been sleeping through most nights since he was around 15 weeks (he's 23 weeks now). I started him on some tiny bits of solids a couple of weeks ago and all is going well. What we all do with links, by the way, is to upload photos onto one of the websites where you can make them public. I use the Truprint site, but there are loads of others. Then you cut and paste the exact web address of the photo you want into the link script and voila (in theory). Look forward to chatting to you more.

I nearly did that Prettymum, but I thought you lot might think I was a bit sad!!

Twinklemegan · 06/01/2007 23:54

Oh, and I'm going back to work full time a week on Monday . I've been whinging about it to this lot! I can't stand the thought of missing any of Aidan's firsts.

kbaby · 07/01/2007 08:47

Happy 30th Birthday to me, happy birthday to me?

Why do I feel as if all I took about is ds?s lack of sleep. The past few days have been difficult. Hes not napping for any length of time ie 10 mins which means hes so overtired it gets difficult to even get him to sleep. So the nights of settling him in his cot with no crying have been impossible. I laid him in his cot and just patted him through the crying on Thursday night until he eventually fell asleep but he wakes again not long after. Hes been grumpy in the days due to lack of sleep even calpol hasn?t helped(in case it was teeth)
I am esp pi88ed off with DH. I went out last night for my birthday with some friends and because from 4am I co sleep with ds in an attempt to keep him sleeping, I mentioned to DH that I couldn?t drink due to this hoping he would offer to get up with ds. Not bloody likely. So it meant that I had to stay on coke all night in order to be able to co sleep. And I haven?t even got any banners on the door today and he is still in bed, wheres my lie in its my birthday..grgghhhhhhhhhh?..

Kamikayzed- thanks for the reassurance.
Poor ggglimpopo's, how devistating, i have just read twigletts quote which has set me off crying.

Prettymum- you tell her the rides aren?t working, works unless someone is on them of course then iuse the ? oh did you see that dog/cat/horse outside? tactic.

Ceebee74 · 07/01/2007 09:49

Kbaby - HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU! Hope you feel ok about turning 30 (I had to go to Mexico for a holiday to get over it )

Willnbel - hi, I am a newbie (ish) on here too. 1st time mum who joined in Augustish time - but everyone has been so welcoming and friendly, that I feel like I have been on here forever.

KZ - Roshi is SO cute - that photo is fab!

Wallace - can't see photos either.

Josh's latest tricks are sticking his tongue out constantly and 'skydiving' on the floor (he lies on his tummy and lifts his arms and legs up and flaps them - just like a skydiver - so cute!)

I keep having vivid dreams - not strange ones but I keep dreaming that I have exams and I have either forgotten about them or not done any work for them - I am sure there is a meaning in there somewhere.

Does anyone else's LO sleep on their front? This last week, JOsh has started turning himself over in the middle of the night and even if we turn him back over, he just flips straight back over again. I am worried cos they are not meant to sleep on their front are they but I guess we can't stop him.
