Ladies, thought I would do the new thread as the other one is taking forever to load up.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
IamBlossom · 04/01/2007 20:32

that should of course have been "would have been hard work"....

It is hard to know how much milk Sophie is having-she fed for approx 10 mins on waking then another 10 after her tinned porridge. Then no milk until after her tea-10 mins again. She sicked up alot of her tea so for the first time in ages she has just had 20 mins then fell asleep. She is normally in bed for 7pm so 8-20pm is late for her but had to wash her oversuit and toys and dry them in the drier.

Ceebee-glad nursery went well. Bet Josh had a whale of a time Can't remember when night terrors can start but do remember DD1 screaming in the night and not being able to calm her-had to wait until she did it by herself as she wasn't 100% awake.

Bloss-you are going to be busy, it'll be like running a cafe

Oh crumbs, have you seen the Miscarriage/Bereavement thread-ggglimpopo's youngest DD has died in her sleep aged 2

agalch · 04/01/2007 21:50

Jesus poor ggg how bloody awful.
God can't think what to say about it really.

Not much going on here,Eilidh finally had her 2nd set of immunisations today.Didn't cry at all as she was sucking furiously on her thumb. She is 23 weeks now so was cooking/pureeing like mad today in preparation for weaning her at the end of January.Still up 2/3 times per night but i'm used to it so not complaining.

Dd1 still going to bed well every night and weeing and pooing in the potty really well thank goodness.

Away to bed soon, wonder if i'll get to sleep tonight, prob not soon as i will be thinking about ggg and her family.

just read about ggg dd, it is so terrible!!

junior has been brilliant today!! he has been his usual smiling self and hardly whinged!! he went to sleep at 8pm and i fell asleep with him in my arms for 2 hours and woke in time for ER!!

but was exhausted from shopping!! dd is now out of the buggy and walking so it was a long trip out but she was good most of the time!! but she threw a mini tantrum when she saw one of rides in morrisons!! how do you solve these tantrums?

junior is now wearing 6-9 months clothes and looks like i might have to be buying 9-12 months soon!! dps mum reminded me today that in 7 months he'll be a year old!! can you believe how time flies!!

MarriedToTheMob · 05/01/2007 08:52

prettymum-have these tantrums all the time as my mum and dad let DD1 have a ride in Morrisons every Friday when they have her. I start with the no pennies and then quickly try and change the subject if that doesn't work. Alternatively-rush out of the store and ignore her

Back later

Wallace- I walked arond for the rest of the day with a muslin stuffed down my top and gave Zack that to sleep with in the end

Sleep- congrats for Sefton on his first roll! Zack went ages between his first and his next roll, when he did eventually roll again we clapped and cheered like mad! He loved it, giggled and now rolls continually looking to us after each one for applause!!

KZ- phew- what a day!

I hardly want to say it BUT the last 2-3 days Zack's sleep has been great. He takes his naps in his cot with no fuss and sleeps longer cuddling something and he has only woken twice in the night.
He actually wakes up smiling!

He had no solids yesterday and didn't seem to miss them at all. Still had regular milk feeds and didn't seem hungry. He was also much happier and calmer. I really think I messed up giving solids when he didn't really need them. I wish I'd trusted my instincts rather than listen to everyone else, HV, family etc.
He was taking what was offered but I'm sure it wasn't through need. I'm going to wait for his cues now and start them again when he seems ready.

Awful, awful news about GGG, I cannot imagine what she is going through.

Ceebee74 · 05/01/2007 13:38

Us - I have stopped Josh's solids too - like you I started before he was ready cos of advice and I wanted to do it before he went to nursery but cos he got ill, I stopped (as he was hardly drinking his milk, let alone eating solids) and the couple of times I have tried restarting, he has thrown up - may be just a coincidence -but have decided to wait until he lets us know he is ready, not when I want to do it. Now all I am getting from my mum is 'ooh, if you leave it too long, it is much harder to do' - yeah thanks!!

Josh's second nursery session went really well - said he was as good as gold for the 2 hours he was there. Feel really bad cos they had changed his top whilst he was there cos he had possetted on it a bit - I hardly ever change his top for that reason - he has to be sick loads for me to change it - guess I will have to take about 5 changes of tops every day to nursery cos he possetts quite a bit!!

How awful for GGG - I can't even begin to imagine how awful that must be - puts all the whinging about waking up in the night etc into context really doesn't it?

MarriedToTheMob · 05/01/2007 14:06

Ceebee-changing tops is yet another thing I don't see eye to eye with the MIL. What is the point of changing a top only to have the clean one messed up. I have the washer on at least twice a day as it is. Sophie dries off in the end

Ceebee74 · 05/01/2007 14:23

My view exactly Married - in fact I put his 'dirty' top back on (cos it wasn't that wet) when he got back from nursery so that I can use the clean one they put on him tomorrow without needing to wash it

Wallace · 05/01/2007 17:30

Really heartbreaking about ggglimpopo's little girl, the poor family

------------

us - good idea to walk around with a muslin down your top. I'm not so organised, I sometimes have to stand beside the cot and whip my top off when I put him down

LOL at you slatterns ceebee and married Leo is usually sick on me and unless I'm going out I don't change either...

well done sefton on his roll - Leo still only rolls when he has no nappy on.

He had a turn in a playnest yesterday and sat up in that (with out his back supported) for an hour. I think he found it easier because he could put his hands on the edges. Weaning going well here, have you guys tried the "babyled weaning" approach? There again, I suppose that is exactly what you are doing if you are stopping because they are not interested

Tantrums advice - distract, ignore, and never ever give in!

maewest · 05/01/2007 17:47

So sad about ggglimpopo, can't imagine what they must be going through

We're moving DS's cot into his own room this weekend, can't believe he is nearly six months old. Couldn't wait to move him out when he was younger, but think it will be very odd without him there.

KoshkaAndJake · 05/01/2007 19:55

So sad about ggg...words dont really describe it do it?

maewest - im so jealous wish I could get Jake in his own room, he has a cold at the moment so he snores more than I do!

I've been refered by my HV to go to a support group so i'm going on Tuesday and i'm scared already.

I've been reading your messages and glad your all surviving. Hope everyones poorly babes are feeling better.

My dad came round to visit a couple of days before christmas and didnt even hold Jake, but my step-mum was in tears and had a massive hug. I think my dad's voice scared Jake hahahaha.

Me and my ex are getting on really well at the moment. It makes me happy.

With the money my dad gave me (i like guilt presents) I have ordered a Jane energy buggy and am now saving up for a tripp trapp highchair.
Well, i had better go. bye xx

maewest · 05/01/2007 20:19

Just a quick hello and I'm off to bed. Made the mistake of looking at the "Name 10 Mumsnetters thread" and needless to say no one named me . And then I posted asking if my posts were invisible and no one answered that! At least I know where I am with you lot Wallace and Agalch got mentioned though - you popular girls you!
Nice to hear from you Koshka - glad things are OK.
Ceebee - you're not alone. If I changed Aidan's top every time he was sick he'd get through about 20 a day!
Interesting about some of you folks giving up solids. I think Aidan's doing OK on his. Mind you I'm still only giving him one or two cubes of veg once a day. I think he'd like more but I definitely don't want to push it til he's 26 weeks (which is only 3 weeks away - wow!)
Anyway, DH is getting very fed up with me so I'm off to bed. Night night!

Wallace · 06/01/2007 11:05

LOL kayzed! I think in member profiles you do the post first, then add a photo after you've posted.

koshka - glad things are looking positive

twinkle - that is the first time I've ever had a mention and I have been here for 3 or 4 years

agalch · 06/01/2007 13:37

I do see what you mean - and that would explain a lot with your probs BF, wouldn't it? No experience personally, but sure someone on MN will.

Roshi is so beautiful btw, with such gorgeous hair. And she looks like she is loving her toast

usandnosleep · 06/01/2007 21:02

I can see what you mean too KZ, if you look under her tongue and compare it with your ds you should see a difference if she does have tongue tie.
I have only seen one case of this before and it was very obvious once you had a good look.
Roshi has the most beautiful eyes!

Well better be off I have lots of crap reality tv to enjoy over a bottle of white
