Aww great week all around so far! So happy to know that your DD's op and new hearing aids have been working Frus! Also great news about little bub's heartbeat thumping away in there Pear!

I worked as a student with a midwife who was the same age as me (so pretty young 6 years ago for a practicing midwife) but didn't have any children yet and she is very Type A. She was almost robotic about how she answered patient's questions and got very mad at me if I answered then differently than her (not wrong, mind you, just in a different way) and often came off very cold to our patients as well. very curious to know how she's changed now that she's got two kids and is trying to be a midwife at the same time. I'd love to give her a right telling off for making my life hell and getting upset with me for having to attend to mother-related things I'm sorry you don't have much of a choice in the way of your community midwife, pear. Hopefully you have a fantastic lovely midwife for your birth and postnatal Smile

Welllll... we are currently experiencing a blizzard. You can hardly see out the windows and the snow is piling up by the hour. Fun. Hmm

Loving the stories of hearing aids working, and hearing heartbeats.

Sorry about the blizzard though bring

I don't like my community midwife at all pear but fortunately out of 5/6 appointments, I've only seen her twice. Usual merry-go-round of MW care, but it doesn't bother me. She's really annoying though. SO condescending! Fortunately she won't be the one at the birth though.

Anyway, I just wandered in to do a little dance and say last day at work!!! Grin Grin Grin Star Star Star

bringonthetrumpets · 25/03/2016 01:34

Woot woot! Done with work Lor! Must feel exciting and slightly surreal that it means it's nearly baby time!

Yeah, we got a foot of snow. We went and picked up the kids early from school and daycare because the roads were so bad that you couldn't see cars coming toward you in the oncoming lane and some cars were having problems just driving up small hills because the snow was accumulating so quickly and it was super heavy wet snow. Thank goodness for 4x4 drive vehicles! Only an hour's drive north from here had nay a snowflake. So weird. A lot of it has melted off today so now we are back to half of the garden covered in snow and a few patches of nasty brown muddy grass. Gotta love spring. 60F one day and a foot of snow the next. You can never say that we have mundane weather here, that's for sure!

M was a maniac today, so that was fun. Hmm

peardrop2 · 25/03/2016 08:10

Yay no more work Lor Smile for now anyway What a great feeling hey!!

Bring - I want snow, please throw some over Wink I don't think any of our UK kids are going to experience snow at a young age. The winters are so much more mild and wetter here now! Still, we really can't cope with snow as a country so maybe it's for the best!

Just wanted to wish everyone a very happy Easter weekend Smile My sister is coming over today to bake a multicoloured Easter cake. Can't wait!!

peardrop2 · 27/03/2016 22:49

Having a major freak out Sad Just found spotting after going for a wee. Twice. No pains just spotting. Wth does that mean. Having horrible thoughts Sad

peardrop2 · 28/03/2016 06:46

Morning! Just came on after my little freak out last night. I think the spotting has stopped now. Easter has sadly been a bit of a disaster for me. Baking with my sister was a complete disaster Sad She brought this really complicated baking set and didn't plan it before hand at all so the whole cake literally took all day and night. I was on my feet all day trying to help her and calm her down when it over baked in the oven. She must have left my house after 10pm. So after that and trying to manage bpear I was left exhausted for the family gathering the next day, not to mention the separate cooking I had to do for the weekend prep. She then proceeded to have a massive and unnecessary fight with my mother the next evening which totally ruined our Easter Sunday which left a horrible atmosphere in the air Sad Just as I thought she was coping she's back to her jealous and mood changing suspected bi polar ways AGAIN. Today I'm meant to be spending the day with my in laws but also stupidly invited my mum and sister a long out of guilt weeks a go. I've realised I've totally over done it and I'm feeling quite annoyed with myself Angry

Hope everyone else is having a much better family time!! Wink

Spotting continued. Went to hospital and now on my way home. They found a trace of blood in my urine and the doctor examined me. She confirmed cervix ectropion. Nothing serious, just one of those lovely pregnancy delights! DH embarrassed me by asking if it was from eating too much chocolate eggs Blush Anyway, will get results back if any infection found in a few days but at least I know I'm fine for now. Oh what a fun bank holiday it's been for us ha!

AGnu · 28/03/2016 17:29

Glad everything's ok pear! That must've been really scary for you! Friend of mine had several big bleeds throughout her last pregnancy, on the verge of being prepped for an emcs at least twice... eventually gave birth past term with no problems! Pregnancy is weird!

Hope your weekend madness is over & you get a minute to yourself to relax a bit now!

bringonthetrumpets · 28/03/2016 21:31

Aww so sorry you had that scare pear! Very common, actually. Especially after sex or exercise. The cervix is super vascular and so the tiny blood vessels erupt sometimes. Always good to go get it checked out, of course, but it happens and you're not alone.

Also sounds like it was pretty crazy at your place with the cake!

Took the day off work and went on a lovely long walk with a good friend. I was starting to have some really low mood points that started to feel scary like depression was creeping back in and the constant bickering with DH, the drama with my mother, work was stressful and spring break was like my worst nightmare.... it just really all felt like it was building up so a mental health day with a good friend was sososososo very much needed.

peardrop2 · 29/03/2016 04:18

Well I've gone from feeling 0 pregnancy to 1000 percent pregnant in the last 48hrs Sad Just got up to pee and the bleeding has got heavier. I've called EPU and they want me to come back in but we've agreed I'll wait for DS to wake up first. Thankfully I've got no pains what so ever but boy am I feeling queezy now with the shock of seeing more Shock I really hope they scan me tomorrow. Not looking forward to being examined again Sad

Loraline · 29/03/2016 09:20

Had typed out a post last night but looks like I didn't post it. It did say I was sorry to hear about your scare and glad everything was OK but looks like things are ongoing.

Hope everything goes well at EPU this morning Flowers

AGnu · 29/03/2016 11:33

pear. Hope everything's OK & it's just one of those weird things that happens sometimes!

Any news pear?

DH got knocked off his bike again this morning. Someone opened their car door without looking just as he was cycling past. He's fine, just a grazed elbow but I've spent the day thinking about what could've happened if a car was driving by at the same time. I need to get a grip. It's a grazed elbow. People fall off bikes all the time, the vast majority of them don't die!

Thanks Lor! What are your lady of leisure plans this week? Wink

Doctor has scanned me as has asked me to stay over night for precaution. So here I am. Praying that I don't bleed in the night!!

peardrop2 · 29/03/2016 19:09

Agnu - awww anything like that always sends your mind racing. I can understand!

AGnu · 29/03/2016 19:44

If it's a precaution, does that mean everything currently looks ok? Have you got everything you need for the night? Full battery on your phone? Plenty of chocolate? Books/trashy mags? These things are important! Wink Hope you have an uneventful night & get some sleep! How's bpear doing? Is he disturbed by any of this?

DH admitted he's been faffing at work just trying to delay his ride home! I've been tracking him on my phone, just to make sure he's not stopped anywhere for too long! Blush

peardrop2 · 29/03/2016 20:42

Well I'm not bleeding like this morning...just old brown blood which is fine. Sorry if that's TMI! However, the heavy bleeds has happened previously in the night so it's very much wait and see. The new midwife has come on shift now. Not sure when I can put my pyjamas on Blush I know...so silly. Also surrounded by very big bumps!! It's making it all feel a bit too real Shock

Loraline · 29/03/2016 21:07

So tough for you pear but it's great that they're taking you seriously and keeping an eye on you. Here's hoping for a good night for you x

No major plans tomorrow. Got an osteopath appt and that's it. However am suddenly feeling very unprepared for baby coming and I'm 37 weeks tomorrow! Need to get out and wash baby clothes, order new mattresses and sheets, pack hospital bags etc. Plus sleep. And sleep some more.

AGnu · 29/03/2016 21:32

Wow, 37 weeks already?! That's so exciting! Grin

pear brown blood is good! Smile As is being surrounded by bumps - beats being surrounded by new mums with tiny babies screaming all night when you're still pregnant & in because you're so dehydrated from HG that it's dangerous for you & your baby! Someone I know was in for the best part of a week on a postnatal ward & didn't sleep at all until they finally found her a side room. Fx your night is significantly better than that!

peardrop2 · 30/03/2016 08:47

Morning! No heavy bleeding in the night woohoo! Waiting to see the dr this morning to see if I can go home later. Hopefully fx it will be a YES!

Loraline · 30/03/2016 08:47

Morning pear . Hope you had a good night, managed to get some rest and things are looking all clear this morning. Thinking of you.

Loraline · 30/03/2016 08:48

Ah total cross post! Good to see your update though. Fx home soon.
