Good luck tomorrow! Always feels more real one you start having appointments. I put on weight really early this time too so might not be all bad diet!

C didn't nap today either. I was at home with him yesterday too as dh had to work and I've had a cold and horrible cough coming on. Felt rough today so was really looking forward to having a rest.while he napped. Instead had a big fight with C because he refused to get into bed and then felt shattered all afternoon.
Then I went for a walk with him and had a huge coughing fit, during which I discovered that my pelvic floor is feeling the strain at the moment BlushI was pretty wet but at least no one could see. Some work to do before baby is born!

Loraline · 05/02/2016 12:49

Hey Pear how did mw appointment go?

peardrop2 · 05/02/2016 13:36

Lor - oh man! How that coughing fit could have been a much worse scenario for you Blush pheweeee! we ladies really do suffer Grin You've reminded me to get going with pelvic exercises too!! I used to do them driving to work and back and it became a habit so I'll have to think of something else like brushing teeth time!

Appointment went well thank you. I was all ready to go on my own and then DH insisted that he took time off and he joined me which threw me and I got very silly about it Blush TG he did come because my memory and focus is just shocking! My old midwife has retired and has been replaced by a younger slightly robotic but efficient lady. She was fine but just a bit cold. DH was really bummed out by her but I reminded him that this midwife really doesn't matter and from experience we now know it's what happens in hospital that counts!

She's referred me to the consultant team who deal with 4th degree tears and I may need extra scans again like I had with bpear because of DH birth history with a diaphragmatic hernia. Apparently I'm also likely to develop gestational diabetes again so I'll be under another team for that. Sounds scary but I feel in control this time and I know most of it is all just routine!

My scan is next Friday Woop Woop! They think I'll be 12 weeks but I'm more likely to be 11 by my calculations. The letter says we can't take children which sucks Sad We can't get a babysitter so we have to take bpear and just hope that they take pity and let DH see the baby at the end!

peardrop2 · 05/02/2016 14:12

Forgot to say...one thing the midwife did do was congratulate me for BF for 22 months. Her eyes nearly popped out which is sad because she obviously doesn't hear it often but also made me proud as it was after all a lot longer then I ever imagined!

bringonthetrumpets · 05/02/2016 17:58

Oh yay Pear! The first midwife appointment made it all feel real for me, so I'm excited you got to meet with yours! Sorry to hear she seemed robotic. Maybe she'll soften up a bit once you both get to see each other a few more times? Also super duper exciting about the scan! So happy for you! Star

Oh dear Lor Blush I feel for you! Coughing is rough on the body to begin with then add pregnancy... hope you feel better!

M has been going through phases of being a full on tyrant to then being very sweet and loving and super girly and then back to a wild crazy monstrous child that I can't believe came from my body. Wild times, let me tell ya, wild times in this house.

So made the mortifying mistake of writing an email to the wrong individual this morning that was about the said individual. Blush I so seriously wished that the ground could just open up and swallow me when I got a response email from the individual who received the email by mistake. It wasn't that bad, more just ranty about how she wasn't doing her job properly. Now I don't know whether to laugh or cry about the whole thing. Can this week be done already, please?

peardrop2 · 06/02/2016 22:44

Bring - oh bring Grin Is this not your second time you've done this?!! Sounds mortifying! You poor thing Grin Have you survived the damage or are you in hiding?

I'm also having an interesting time with bpear. It's nearly 11pm and he won't go to bed and after several attempts we've broken our golden rule and let him come downstairs. My pelvis area is sore from picking him up Sad No idea what's wrong with him tonight!! Now I'm tired and want to go to bed! Toddlers eh! Wink

bringonthetrumpets · 07/02/2016 02:44

Ha, kind of? The first instance in question was when I made comment about a mutual acquaintance who had emailed the office asking to volunteer who is a very difficult person to be around and I just said that I didn't think she'd be a good fit for the office staff (turns out my boss felt the exact same way about her so no harm done). This time was slightly different because the person I accidentally emailed was from a department of a medicaid insurance company for my state that we've been having problems with due to her being completely incompetent at her job, not knowing the difference of a doula and a midwife (which in turn lead to us not getting a contract just because she never figured it'd be a good idea to look up our state law. she's supposed to be in charge of the entire maternity healthcare provider contracting department and she didn't know the difference! which then in turn has cost the birth center several thousand dollars in payment for patients who have that type of insurance). So this has dragged out over 6 months of back and forth and her saying we haven't been submitting paperwork, then just replying saying that a form hasn't been signed (which WAS electronically signed through a legal signature platform) and just failing to let us know until FRIDAY that this state agency doesn't recognize electronic signatures and that the form has to be signed paper and pen (6 FREAKING MONTHS IT TOOK HER TO TELL US THIS!). So I sent a venting email to my boss (but oops meant to forward her but instead hit "reply") just saying that I was fed up with the BS this agency has been putting us through, that all of this could have been communicated 6 months ago, WTF, etc. So I got an email back saying something along the lines of 'she understands the ongoing frustration but could I please stick to a professional manner of communication and to please leave her off future internal venting emails' Blush Blush Blush

Oh I completely understand the whole up until 11 thing. Hopefully the little stinker has gone to bed and that it's only a one-off for you! Nice warm bath for the hips!

peardrop2 · 07/02/2016 07:03

ROfL what a sticky mess you got yourself into Grin So, technically your boss may never find out this time if she keeps her button hole closed? Wink Honestly, this is the kind of thing I would do now should I be allowed to sit behind a desk lol Did you apologise? Eeep Smile

Ahhhh warm bath!! Excellent idea Grin

Once we let him mess around in our bedroom for 20 minutes he reluctantly went back into his cot. If he slept in our bed without a fuss then we would let him sleep with us but he just can't settle. Probably a blessing in disguise long run!!

So, I'm awake at 7....the only one awake Sad Nearly spent £60 in the gap t-shirt maternity sale but my wallet is downstairs Blush ...another good thing!!

Frus - wow, a lot on your plate right now! You're the one who needs a hot bath Wink or better still more sunshine and less wind and rain! Sending lots of luck for the op and pending visit if we don't hear from you again for a few weeks! Do you think your DS will exempt drinking the smoothies? I guess it depends what they taste like. I make frozen banana and strawberry smoothies with my DS but it's more like a very involved cooking lesson where he gets to pour everything in and choose a straw etc. FX your DS will enjoy the new experience!

Very impressed with your children watching paw patrol! Bpear would need a huge amount of concentration to watch that. It's way too complicated for him. We're still watching Twirlywoos, Teletubbies and postman pat (on a good day) and Peppa Pig! I have just introduced him to Balamory because I have an old dvd from the days when I would babysit my nephew, I don't think it's on Tv anymore.

peardrop2 · 07/02/2016 23:30

I mean except not exempt!!

He loves the banana smoothies we make which is just frozen banana, honey and milk. We had a lot of them in January when I needed an afternoon pick me up! He's not as keen on the strawberry only version so it has to be both or just banana. I brought mangos from the market the other week to try but annoyingly DH went and put them in the fridge so they never ripened Sad Why do men (particularly my DH) struggle when it comes to knowing what goes in the fridge and what stays out? Totally baffles me.

You need a paw patrol cup for these pink shakes Wink

Loraline · 08/02/2016 14:43

bring that email sounds priceless. Might be no bad thing she got to read all about how frustrating your experience has been.

frus you've so much going on! Hope your DS takes to the shakes and you can progress things a bit. And DD's op is so soon. I'm sure you're incredibly nervous but also excited I hope?

pear good luck with your scan! Glad you're getting so much support in advance of issues which hopefully won't develop (but at least you know what you're doing this time.

Paw Patrol is definitely the show-du-jour round our way. C had never seen it until we went to Ireland at Christmas and my nephew is obsessed with it. He just loves it. He didn't have any PP toys so he got out a Fire truck, a police car, a digger, a boat, a helicopter etc. that he DID have already and assigned the characters to them (Mummy, this one's Marshall, this is chase, this is Rubble-on-the-Double [as he calls him], this is Zuma, this is Skye etc.). He and his bf at nursery also fight over who gets to be Marshall or Chase some days so when we get him dressed in the morning he tells me who is going to be who that day (I'm going to be Chase and A is going to be Marshall, and B will be Rubble-on-the-Double etc.). He has it all worked out.

peardrop2 · 08/02/2016 22:29

Horrah...there's an answer!! Put bonjela on bpears gums this evening and I swear I felt 2nd molars at the bottom back. I really hope I wasn't imagining it! It has to be the reason he is struggling to settle at bedtime. He finally went down just after 9 today.

Lor - thanks! 4 more sleeps! Your DS sounds like a bright spark. I love it when they come up with their own role play games. Bpear likes to rein act real life situations like "going to see daddy's car" by taking a little person and a dinky car and having a little conversation with the car.

I managed to change the scan to Friday afternoon so now my mum can have bpear and we can go to the hospital on our own. Think it's better that way even though it means I have to wait a few more hours ConfusedSmile

Loraline · 08/02/2016 22:56

Aw pear that's so sweet. Love the games they get engrossed in.

Ah yes, molars. We realised afterwards that a lot of C's. Non-sleeping in Sept/Oct was because of those pesky teeth. All settled down again afterwards.

bringonthetrumpets · 10/02/2016 16:52

Hi Frus! We've missed you! How are the shakes going so far? I have a friend who had something similar with her daughter being unable to gain weight and just generally not interested in food in-general and she said that the shakes definitely helped get over that period. I really hope the little guy likes them! Also, best of luck with the home visit. Sounds really stressful but I hope it goes smoothly and you DD's operation goes well. So many big things on your plate right now. How are your fatigue symptoms doing now? Getting any better? It's funny what kids get so attached to on TV, isn't it? Gotta love the electronic babysitter for when things around the house have to get done. Blush

Isn't the imaginative play so cute at this age?? I love just watching M do her own little thing. She was playing with some little plastic animals and one animal was apparently telling the other animal that he needs to walk in the house and not run (lol!) and also that hands are not for hitting. Clearly she's hearing what we're telling her, but just forgetting to apply it in scenarios outside of little plastic animal land. Hmm

Oh ouch. Molars. Damn them. Glad the sleep is getting back on track, pear Hope the remaining teeth pop through and put everyone in your house out of their misery!

So boss has been super duper busy with babies this week (she's the owner/head midwife at the birth center so she's always got something going on) and she hadn't seen the email gaff yet. She called this morning because we finally got some paperwork sorted out and we finally got our accreditation certificate for the birth center (YAY!!) so that we can finally get our permanent license, which means we can finally get contracts to get paid from insurance companies for people who have their babies in the birth center... basically we've been on-hold for a really long time for this so it's like celebration time. So I mentioned the email and had she seen it (which she hadn't) and then asked if I could explain what happened since she was driving (yes, mobile phone conversations are still stupidly legal in our state) so I told her and she couldn't stop laughing! Grin She absolutely loved it and said it serves the woman right to have it explained to her how bad she's been at her job. Blush So, haha, it's over with. Boss knows about it and thinks it's funny. I love working for this woman! She's hilarious!

Oh wow! That's a really long wait then. Are there any other types of shakes that they could recommend while you wait? Oh the perks of the NHS that I do not miss...

Sorry pear! Forgot to mention that I'm glad you and your DH get to make a date out of seeing little bub! Please let us know all the lovely details!

kittykatsforever · 11/02/2016 08:48

Hi girls, caught up from the last month!! Ooohh pear exciting that scan is tomorrow. They had the child rule at ours too although plenty did being children.
I would say not to worry about the hen do, you've don't the right thing with getting good insurance should anything happen but really the likely hood is you will be fine and have a good time. The other hen was likely just looking for an excuse not to go making up reasons to give it more weight. I've been on two whilst pregnant and fine both times they were also others both times at different stages and all the hens were really good carrying bags and fussing. There not the same obligation to stay out late and you often find someone like minded who wants I go back earlier or rest who will use you as their excuse too Wink
Frus is ds under weight I've no idea how much kitten weighs! She loves smoothies though
She is also just like yours, a clingy nightmare that's loving one minute and the child from hell the next. Tantrums galore we are in the process of stopping naps as if she does she's getting out of bed and delaying til 9 but ofcourse is the child from hell without it but it's a means to an end. I know she will get used to it and non of them have naps at pre school when she will go in 6 months
Bring the wedding story had me Shock It did not feel right at all and whilst it is awful to think the worst I think your right to go with your gut and just be wary for now. The email was hillarious - these things happen for a reason Grin

peardrop2 · 11/02/2016 10:18

Kitty - thanks a lot for your reassurance! Really nice to hear. I'm trying to put it to the back of my mind now (along with the dress) as its been causing me a lot of anxiety which isn't good when I'm pregnant. Feel like it's put a big stress on my 12 week wait and I just can't wait to be able to tell everyone so it's no longer a big secret!!

How's your new house? The worst part I find is kitting the new place out with curtains/blinds!! It's taken me 3 years to sort this out lol

I have finally found a cheap and cheerful solution to our blind problem (serious lack of blinds in our house). TG!! At the price we're looking at I can definitely afford to kit the whole house with blinds by the summer which makes me feel really happy as I've missed my privacy!

So, 1 more sleep! I'll be back with a photo tomorrow night...really really hope!

Bpear was up at 4am today. He woke up screaming from a bad dream and I just couldn't get him back to sleep Sad

Loraline · 11/02/2016 10:37

4am is a witching hour for C too pear. If he's going to wake (like he did when his molars were coming through) then it'll be 4am on the dot. He'll usually be crying out in his sleep and muttering at that time anyway, but can mostly resettle himself. If he's out of sorts he won't though.

peardrop2 · 11/02/2016 14:45

Argh I just don't know if it's second molars or like kitten he's in nap transition. I am so not ready for him to drop his nap yet. Just need a few more weeks and for the weather to be slightly less chilly so we can spend more time outside! Honestly, how I'm going to cope when dc2 I don't know! Days like this when tiredness is a big cloud over house does make me panic! I know I'll just do what has to be done but it's going to hurt ShockGrin Still...mustn't grumble. Super excited!! I maybe have brought a pink dress and 2 baby grows in the sale this week Blush

The 11th Gemini bus - Trudging through the terrible twos
peardrop2 · 11/02/2016 14:47

That is the mega problem that we've always had though...he won't settle on his own EVER Sad

kittykatsforever · 11/02/2016 19:05

Ohhh so cute pear lol I love emile et rose!! Will you find out the sex early?
I'll bet money he needs to drop his nap but just do what you need to do, for me having a 20-40 min nap and usually in the car so no benifit doesn't put way the pain of loosing out night getting up and down to her
