Bring - your diner meal sounded lush. So fancy a big diner sundae now Smile How lovely that your boys got some quality time away from M with you and your Dh. Did you enjoy the film or use the time to make mental to do lists? Wink

bringonthetrumpets · 13/01/2016 22:36

I actually really liked the film Blush I was a bit "meh" about the whole thing but then totally got into it when there was a kick-ass girl as a lead!

Yes, I flew long-haul when I was pregnant with #1 and was moving over to the UK right after I graduated from Uni. Make sure to drink LOADS of water. I know airplane toilets are disgusting, but it makes sure that you are getting up and stretching your legs. I also wore compression stockings (the really sexy ones that go thigh-length oh la la ) to help with the foot and lower leg swelling. It's still early enough in pregnancy to be comfortable with sitting and moving around and you'll still have plenty of energy. Perfect timing for the trip! You're going to have a great time and you're right, it'll totally be nice to get out to just be YOU for a little while before you become mum x2.

peardrop2 · 14/01/2016 04:52

Ha ha...I love surprises like that. I really liked the Star Trek film at the cinema when I was pregnant with bpear. That was a surprise to me too! My Dh wasn't impressed with the Star Wars film but I haven't seen it yet. Nothing better then a leading girl that kicks ass Wink

Thanks for the tips! Multiple trips to use the aeroplane toilet by myself will feel like a holiday in itself GrinI shall look forward to that ha ha! Very reassuring to hear that it will be ok...thanks. The bride has already requested a chilled out time with no hen party activities that cost extra so I think it will be good for me and like you say one last adventure before I take the plunge of becoming a mummy to two...eeeek!

peardrop2 · 16/01/2016 17:13

I am feeling bluuuurrrrrr! Mainly because I went to a kids birthday party today that involves tracking around a large working farm in the very very cold weather for 3.5 hrs. Lovely place but way too cold and exhausting as I was flying solo whilst DH was at work. Felt very sorry for myself as I was the only one without a DH Sad Anyway, now I'm lying down whilst DH sorts out tea and bath time. I am pooped Wink

How's everyone else's weekend going?

kittykatsforever · 17/01/2016 10:26

Ohhh pear!!!!! SmileSmileGrinGrin I've only just cought up and that's made me soooooooo happy. I had a little feeling over Xmas it might happen! Just like me!! Have you thought this could be your august baby though lol
See sometimes you just can't stop the inevitable lol
Everyone's Xmas sounds good! Ours was lovely too lots going on. I too have had the coil fitted just last week. Was quite sad about it and feel hormonal but I've not had any hormonal contraception for like 7 years!! Bring did it make you too? I've also spotted everyday since even though I had it fitted just after af and boobs are sooo tender. Is this normal?
Kitten is a right diva so stuborn but still has her nap every day pretty much we are lucky she still goes to bed 7:30 ish but has been waking at 6:30ish more often in the last week
What was Agnu's last post I don't recall? I'm sure I've seen her on fb though

peardrop2 · 17/01/2016 15:32

Thank you Kitty Smile Yes it has turned out just how you suggested it might Smile Instead of visiting the hospital for our second fertility apt in Feb to discuss IUI we will be visiting for a scan the same very week in Feb!! I really couldn't be happier!

I've had a change of heart on having a late summer baby. I will now happily embrace a August baby Wink I'm actually a bit shameful of my narrow minded thoughts. After TTC dc2 for 1.5 years I now recognise how very blessed I am to be pregnant and I won't let something like their "education year" worry me. I have decided that I'm a good mother blowing my own trumpet ha ha and I can offer stability, love and support which is far more powerful IMO. I worry far too much about the future. I'm putting my faith in having another healthy happy child Smile

7 weeks and I was officially sick today Grin Can you believe I am laughing about this? It was the weirdest experience. At 11am whilst battling to get bpear out of his gym kit and into normal clothes ready to go out for lunch I was struck with a crazy hunger pang and then an over whelming need to throw up. So I did. No idea if this is how MS feels like? It's weird. Felt a bit clammy and fluey like at the same time but it all went after I was sick. Normal? This pregnancy is so opposite to my first one. I'm trying to remind myself that it doesn't mean a different gender, could just be a different child character?! Hard not to get excited though!!

kittykatsforever · 17/01/2016 20:58

Ha ha I love your enthusiasm of throwing up Grin Lol
I don't think symptoms are synonymous with gender but will be interesting to find out. One of my best friends is also throwing up loads with dc2 and had none with. Dc1 who is a boy. She will find out in a few weeks do will let you know Wink
Yes by the time I got pregnant with tiger I couldn't have cared less what year she was in. Embrace it you can always go for September for dc3 he he

peardrop2 · 18/01/2016 09:10

Kitty - oooooo yes keep me posted Wink

So, I'm in a RL episode of "don't tell the bridesmaids" Sad Received an email from the bride last night saying she's found a meeting bar/restaurant venue that has bathrooms big enough to try on bridesmaid dresses next weekend Shock I don't get it. Who would want to do this? The other two bridesmaids have responded with exciting yelps so maybe them!! Or maybe they're feeling the same but hiding it for her sake. Anyway, she followed her email with a text to me saying that we will talk about my dress situation this week. Obviously I slept badly thinking all sorts of things in my head Blush I guess this means I'll have to confess and actually say the words. I was hoping to make it to the 12 week mark but I guess not Confused So annoying!!

So, do we think she's...

A) gone ahead and brought me a large dress with ideas to alter it?

B) Not brought me a dress but plans to put me in a different maternity dress in maybe the same colour?

C) is stupid enough to think that maybe I'm not pregnant yet so has brought me a dress anyway even though she doesn't know my size but could probably guess?

Is there any other possibilities that I've missed? As you can tell I am not enjoying all the mystery behind this. Wish she had just emailed me about it instead of having to wait for her call!

peardrop2 · 19/01/2016 20:47

She went for option A. I'm now googling like mad to see where you can buy strapless bras!! There must be a maternity strapless bra out there but saying this maybe I'll just need to buy a normal strapless bra and suffer for the day!!

peardrop2 · 19/01/2016 20:47

Hope everyone is OK?! Very quiet on the bus!!

bringonthetrumpets · 20/01/2016 19:24

Hey Pear sorry about not responding sooner.

Yeah, you won't need a maternity bra. Just a regular one should be fine for the day. Maybe just make sure to have it fitted closer to the wedding so that it fits accurately. It's only really when you're bf'ing that you should stay away from underwires as they tend to cut off access to all of the milk ducts closer to the armpit. That's good that she went for the one that can be altered for you. Have you had a chance to take a look at it yet? What are your thoughts? I'm so excited to hear about it!

Also, wooooowhooo on the new symptoms! Bub is in there and is fully taking charge of your body. All good signs! Your little one will be totally fine with whichever month they are born in regarding school placement. Wink Most kids adjust I would think!

Not a whole lot of excitement to report here really. Getting my hair chopped later today. Working my butt off. M is now starting 3 days of daycare a week so that I can try to stay on top of work but I'm still feeling the stress. Of course now that I have an extra day, my boss at the birth center is asking me to come up there more often which is hard since it's a 45 minute drive to get there. It really makes a dent in the productivity of the day.

DH and I are doing really well. We are still taking boxing classes together and having so much fun! I seriously love beating the sh*t out of a punching bag :)
He's doing fabulous at being sober and I'm so proud of him.

OH! Yeah, almost forgot. Taking the kids down to visit my mum in FL in a few weeks. I may have let her know what I think of her new BF and how weird it is that he's so obsessed with being around M. I can't remember if I told you all about that from the wedding or not, but I'll have to fill you in on it another time. Basically I just told her that I wasn't comfortable having my kids around him (I used the "I don't know him yet" excuse, but quite honestly, I've got a freaky 6th sense about him and there's something about him that makes alarm bells go off when we're around him). So, her BF is coming to MN because his eldest son's GF is having a baby and so I just took that time to go to see mum while he's away. She actually took the whole discussion really well and was very adult about the whole thing!

peardrop2 · 20/01/2016 20:11

Arrrrhhhh bring I am so envious of your holiday break to FL Grin will it be warm? It's always warm in FL isn't it? Or is that a myth? Blush Hmmmm that sounds like a very tricky situation. I am never a fan of my mums boyfriends because they always act so oddly around my nephews and nieces and it was a massive relief when my mum dumped her last boyf in the autumn so bpear never had to get to know him as he was too young to understand so I totally sympathise with you! TG your mum is listening to you...pray that it lasts because I know my mum always pretended to understand and listen and then eventually she would turn it around and say that I hated her boyf whatever the reason and that it was all me Sad Mums and boyfriends are just so so tricky Angry There is just so many complications added to the family unit nowadays!!

You and your DH sound like you're in a lovely place right now Smile I hope you're taking some of the credit for his strength in staying strong Wink

I am really nervous about the dress but that's mainly because before I got pregnant with bpear I had a big box of size 14 clothes in the attic that I thought would be so handy when pregnant. Not one item fitted me throughout my pregnancy. I read about celebrities like Fearne Cotton buying a size bigger in high street shops but that was never me!! I haven't seen the dress but we will be trying it on in a restaurant bathroom this weekend. Not awkward at all Sad All I know about it is it is knee length, not A-line and sounds quite figure hugging. But apparently her sea mistress can do wonders so I just have to let it go and have faith. I'll feel better about it after seeing it I'm sure Confused
I'm hoping that we don't have to mention that I am 8 weeks pregnant to the other two girls that I barely know!

Loraline · 22/01/2016 15:15

Sorry I've been quiet. Work is really busy and I'm knackered in the evenings.

We have also entered 'the kids party zone' Duhn, duhn, duhn scary music Shock Shock Shock

The last two weekends we've been to 3 year old birthday parties from nursery. Whole new world of madness. Also, as DS goes to nursery in a posh area, there has been serious money invested in these parties! We'd never spend that cash on his 3rd birthday! At least we have time to plan but we'll have small baby by then so it might be something low-key (if anything at all).

bringonthetrumpets · 22/01/2016 19:10

Well I certainly hope it's warm when we get there! It's supposed to be. Fingers crossed.

Families are just weird aren't they? Especially now that the parents are pairing off. Sorry to hear you've been dealing with weird mum boyfriends too! It's so messed up sometimes.

How'd the dress-fitting go?

UGH UGH, I seriously can't stand little kids' birthday parties. They are so over the top. They are expensive. They are psychotic. They are full of sugar. You are not alone in not wanting to be a part of it. We don't really go to them and we don't really have parties for the kids either. Meany parents Blush

kittykatsforever · 23/01/2016 07:21

No you hadn't mentioned the wedding bring but I'm intregued?! I think our gut instincts are quite often spot on though so important to be wary if you don't get a good feeling!
Pear I can't imagine why anyone would pick a restroom to try on bridesmaid dressesHmm It really is something I can even imagine thinking.

peardrop2 · 24/01/2016 09:33

Different Confused

The 11th Gemini bus - Trudging through the terrible twos
Loraline · 24/01/2016 17:28

How different and is it nice?

peardrop2 · 24/01/2016 20:20

Lor - I'm worried about expressing my feelings of it on here Blush I'm now paranoid that the bridal party could even find out that I've posted the photo...highly unlikely I know Blush

peardrop2 · 24/01/2016 20:21

Obviously v concerned how a 6 month pregnant lady will look in it. The skirt is full on puff with 3 layers!

kittykatsforever · 25/01/2016 11:13

Personally I think it's lovely but it's always difficult to know what it would look like adapted as it's quite fitted low down so may not be that easy, that said depends how big you are you know

Loraline · 25/01/2016 13:07

Ah, just realised there was a pic (didn't show on my phone). I quite like it too. It's pretty. The waistband being there might make it tricky to alter alright. It's not that pouffy though.

peardrop2 · 25/01/2016 14:57

I admit that the photo on the website looks a hell of allot better then RL. In RL it's like wearing a character from "frozen"! Makes you feel like you're mutton dressed as lamb and is soooo incredibly itchy. Oh and with 3 layers of net it is very puffy which again the photo doesn't show! I mean seriously...just how is a 6 month bump going to look like in that corset ShockSad

peardrop2 · 25/01/2016 14:58

The white area around the hips is not flattering!

peardrop2 · 25/01/2016 14:59

It's cheap polyester that is static Sad

peardrop2 · 25/01/2016 15:00

Let my feelings out now Grin
