Sounds great FiRaffe well done to your ds!!

Having a bad night here. DD had an unusual nap yesterday afternoon from about 3-6. Great as she usually resists naps. Wouldn't easily settle for bed though. Got her down after 10pm. She was up crying at 1am DH couldn't settle her at all so I had to feed. Took an hour to settle. Up again since 5 - inconsolable crying Sad she's finally settled after some gripe water and is now hopefully drifting off on boob but it's only 40 min until DH gets up for work. She hasn't been like this for weeks. Don't know if it's due to badly timed nap, if she's uncomfortable with wind, or the start of the dreaded 4 month sleep regression...

I am so glad you ladies are around so I can prepare myself for the 4 month sleep regression (which I hadn't heard of before it was mentioned by someone here!). We had 9.30 - 6.30 last night (although he was really noisy at points in his sleep).... I will miss that in a month.

Hope she is still asleep Penguin and you have had an ok night Babiecakes.

How long does the 4 month regression usually last?

Fingers crossed!

cinnamongreyhound · 06/07/2015 13:22

Wow busy boy FiRaffe! Neither of my twos sleeping changed and tbh I've never heard of a 4 month sleep regression outside of mn. Ds1 was sleeping 10hrs and carried on doing so and ds2 was a little sod and carried on being one! Will see what this one does Wink

That's a sucky night PenguinPoser! Sad hope things improve quickly for you Flowers

PenguinPoser · 06/07/2015 13:48

I've only heard of the 4 month regression on here too to be fair! DD is developing quite quickly at the moment and she is learning to grasp and roll so not really surprising that she has a lot going on in her mind. I suspect the late nap might have been to blame last night so will see how tonight goes. I don't really believe that a regression is inevitable or that all babies are the same. They haven't read the books after all Wink

I was about to go for a walk before water babies but she is feeding now so not sure if I'll get out in time. Could do with getting out of the house some more during the week rather than just waiting for DH to come home! Pre baby I'm so used to being on the go and never a day in the house so it's all a bit different now.

Hope water babies was fun.

I'm sitting trying to keep DS happy after his jabs. For the first time he seems interested in captain calamari which is good!

cinnamongreyhound · 07/07/2015 14:41

Captain calamari?!?!

I took Sam to my governor training last night (did ask in advance). He babbled a bit, fed twice and slept some. Everyone said how well behaved he was and how alert he was. I was so nervous about taking him but worked out well! Dh then said 'I told you it would be fine' which was helpful.

PenguinPoser · 07/07/2015 17:11

Water babies was fun thanks Fi Smile I'm going to miss it over the summer. Will have to find a warm enough pool to take her swimming ourselves. And yes who exactly is captain calamari?

Pleased Sam behaved for you cinnamon!

Well today I've bought things to make dds christening invitations. Can't wait to get started if I ever get her put down for long enough! Maybe when DH comes in. Intended to go and see my grandad as he was in hospital last night (?blood clot of some kind - my info is very sketchy!) I hoped to speak to a nurse or doctor to see what was happening. So I arranged my gran to look after dd for an hour then when I got there he had been sent home! Apparently on blood thinning injections whilst awaiting a scan on Sunday. So I haven't seen him as when I phoned he had gone to bed for s lie down. I'll go tomorrow after bf group.

Making mince and dumplings for tea - can't wait as its my favourite!

FiRaffe · 07/07/2015 21:55

Hope your grandad is okay Penguin.

Mmm dumplings are one of my favourites too. They make stew worth eating!

Great news on the training cinnamon. I think they often surprise us, especially when out.

Captain Calamari is a Lamaze toy. It's a multi-texture octopus with a rattle, rings and a mirror. He is fun but quite big!

Wineandchoccy · 07/07/2015 22:30

I have done nothing today, dd fed for ages this morning so missed the guided pram walk then after an exploding nappy and bath she fell asleep on me for 2 hours so we missed baby massage. I have quite enjoyed watching rubbish on TV as I don't normally stay in, there are no baby groups tomorrow so tomorrow's highlight is going to the bank and the supermarket.

I hope your Grandad is ok penguin

We have 2nd jabs on Thursday, I hope your Ds was ok after his firaffe captain calamari sound like fun. Dd has a Lamaze unicorn but it is really heavy so I'm hoping it doesn't become her favourite as I don't fancy carrying it everywhere.

You're doing amazing with the feeding babiecakes it sounds like it was worth your perseverance and pleased it has helped your supply worries.

Shame you missed the groups wineandchoccy but sounds like it was nice just to relax for a change Smile

We also have the pink Lamaze unicorn but have to say it's not dds favourite. She prefers her mamas and papas birdie!

I have bf group and baby massage today with trip to see my grandad in the middle. Busy day!

cinnamongreyhound · 08/07/2015 09:57

Sounds like a lovely day wineandchoccy, apart from the exploding nappy! Sometimes a change of pace is good Smile we have our second attempt at second jabs tomorrow too.

Hope your grandad is ok PenguinPoser, glad he's gone home though even if you didn't get to see him.

Wow go dd Babiecakes11! That's great news, you've done amazingly with your expressing, looks like perseverance was worth it, no way I'd have kept up like you have. You will be just as good with bf as you were with expressing and feeding I'm sure.

FiRaffe · 08/07/2015 21:10

So pleased for you babiecakes. Your perseverance has paid off!

Been to the docs about DS's small size and been referred to paediatrics... oh fun! It did make me laugh though when the doctor said if it was a little girl they'd just say she was petite but they worry more with boys!

cinnamongreyhound · 08/07/2015 21:15

How do you feel about that FiRaffe? Have they worried you or are you just thinking it's annoying appointments you'll have to attend?

Aw hope you're ok babiecakes. You're doing amazingly. Your nipples do toughen up but might be worth getting the latch checked if you're really sore.

Fi sorry to hear about the paeds referral. As you said on FB though best to make sure nothing's missed even though he's likely just doing his own thing!

I've just had appointments through for dd - her 4 month injections in 2 weeks time and her eye clinic appointment which is in 4 weeks time - about her squint. Not sure if she actually still has it I'll have to keep a check. Either way I'll still take her to the appointment.

Not enjoying my new routine of 3-4am feeds! Hopefully will get her back down soon. It's noticeably cooler tonight so I've had her back in vest sleepsuit and the 1.5tog sleeping bag. She's toasty warm apart from her hands which were so cold. Warmed up now snuggled up to me but I don't know if there's anything I can do. I could put the scratch mits over but she sucks her hand if she needs to settle herself so wouldn't like it. Hmm. M

Well I have no plans for the next 2 days. Need inspiration for something to do. Preferably cheap/free!

OP posts:
FiRaffe · 09/07/2015 05:49

I think it's better to be checked, but it is a bit of a worry if anything is wrong. I don't think it is but it's just the uncertainty!

Penguin if the weather is nice could you go for a walk? Or does your local NCT do anything- you don't usually need to be a member to join. We have a group here that is £2 where usually there is just a mat and toys to play but have visiting people too, that's where i'm off to this afternoon.

Fingers crossed for you babiecakes. If not an hour, could you at least have a bath or something like that?

I agree babiecakes that you need that time. Your DP needs to step up. Regardless of the fact that he works there's no reason he can't take over for at least an hour! Really
Hope it happens.

Well I ended up taking dd into my mums work to meet her colleagues so there was lots of passing her around and cooing over her - she was loving it! We popped to the supermarket this afternoon for a couple of bits as my mum came over for tea - made slimming world pasta bake. Did dds bath and massage but still trying to get her to bed... Fingers crossed DH is having success standing rocking her! The noise from outside isn't helping matters!
