Hey guys. Hope you find this thread. Blobsmummy suggested starting a new thread to save trawling the first which was rather monster. Sorry re title. Had no idea what to cll it! DD had 3rd injections yesterday. Were much better than last lot. Nurse seemed to know what she was doing much better than last tiem. What a relief.

foxymagoo - Thanks for the suggestion but I'm afraid it wouldn't last long with DS because he is about 20lbs now and the weight limit is 22lbs. Also DS would probably knock himself over as he gets really animated and kicks hard. Thanks.

alibobble - A family member bought DS a reclining highchair which is great but unfortunately it doesn't convert to a low chair so I'm not sure if he would strain his neck watching his Baby Einstein DVDs? Could give it a try I guess but I would need to buy some pillows to put around him as it is still a little big for him.

I know I'm an awkard bugger!

foxymagoo · 30/11/2006 12:48

Oh, I should have mentioned this in previous post - ds also has a chair we got from Mothercare. Its not your typical fabric bouncy chair - rather more sturdy and has 3 reclining positions. DS can sit up well now so we have it in the most upright position with him strapped in. There is still plenty of room and ds is 19lbs and quite a chubby chappy! It evolves throughout the day i.e. starts off quite reclined when ds is first up and feeling chilled, then gets put up one when he is watching Peppa Pig then up again when he is playing with his toys.

Its the blue vinyl check chair in the catalogue - @£30..

btw he actually prefers rolling around the floor just now to sitting in either of his chairs!

Went clothes shopping yesterday - first time on my own for AGES. Tried on lots of lovely clothes and did buy funky dress for xmas but so many things I thought "hmm, i'll wear this once or twice..." so put them back and ended up in ELC - how sad! Also the sight of my body in the various changing room mirrors - !

RachelPross · 30/11/2006 12:55

Vbab - have you seen the Baby Bjorn Baby Sitter which is a bouncy chair that converts into a toddler chair...for children up to 2 yrs old

Not sure if this link will work!! 1st time I've used one!!

RachelPross · 30/11/2006 12:57

god I am so inept at these technical things. Here I go again...hope it works this time

RachelPross · 30/11/2006 12:58

That one works, am chuffed now!!

alibobble · 30/11/2006 20:45

foxy: dd now also prefers to be on the floor for a bit rather than in her seat. Think it's the chance to wiggle and not be resitricted. She used to hate being on the floor but now she's mad rolling all over the place and seems to be enjoying it more. When she first started she screamed whenever she was on her front! Had a scare today when iturned my back for like 1sec to look in the wardrobe and she nearly plopped off her change table. Nearly had a heart attack! So scary!

foxymagoo - What page is that chair on? Sorry I'm just blind and can't find it. Might try DS sat up on the floor to watch TV and see how he goes.

RachelPross - Thanks for the link. It does look good, I wish I had seen it from the beginning. Although I think DH would be tight fisted and not want to buy it at this stage because DS would have outgrown it by 1yr old at his current rate of growth.

alibobble - Glad that you caught your DD. I feel so guilty about DS falling off our bed. Since I have stopped changing him on high surfaces and putting him on our bed.

foxymagoo · 01/12/2006 09:17

Have thrown catalogue out!

Here is the link to the page on Mothercare website - hope this works... If not its in the nursery furntiture section.

foxymagoo · 01/12/2006 09:19

oh no! no blue line - its obviously not worked - doh!

You can highlight it, copy it and paste it into your search bar and it should take you there.

vbab78 · 01/12/2006 09:45

foxymagoo - Thanks. But it says max weight 20lb and DS is there now. I tried just sitting him on the floor with pillows around him and he liked it so might do that until he gets his walker at x-mas. Thanks once again.

Are anybody's LO's cutting teeth at the moment, Kaleb is but instead of the 2 bottom ones coming through he seems to be cutting 4 bottom ones at the same time. Has anyone else experienced this?

WW I dont know where the time has gone. Does it feel like time has gone quicker with your second child? It does for me im trying to enjoy him but he seems to be growing too quickly for my liking.

Hope everyone is doing well, has anybody heard from Diddle?

foxymagoo · 01/12/2006 17:46

Funny, I'm just back from soft play with friend and her dd is 9 months and has 4 bottom teeth that came through at the one time (@ 7months). Her Mum hopes top ones will appear soon to balance it out!

ds has been drooling for nearly 3 months but last couple of days he has been biting HARD on anything and everything. Can feel one bottom tooth with my finger but not sure if its about to erupt as, is it not the case that all their milk teeth are pretty near the surface anyway?

ds also waved at me today - DH said "look there's mummy, lets wave" and he did with his wee pudgy hand

alibobble · 01/12/2006 21:03

Ladys: dd has cut both bottom teeth together but not 4. wow that's loads!

DD sat unaided for 1/2 hour today! WOOOOOOOWWWWWW! Am so excited! Sorry, just a brief vistit today. dd had her pneumococcal injection today. Wasn't too bad. better than meningitis that's for sure.

Ditto to that WasWondering! Even when DS is about to sit on DD (as I walked in and found him this morning) she just gazes up at him and chortles (great word that). As to banana stains...the person who invents a way to get rid of them would be a millionaire. I remember now why I don't have many of DS's t-shirts packed away from this age and stage, bevuase they all had either black or orange stains round the neck band!

Vbab, I remember the first time DS fell out of our bed onto wooden floor - worse because I was in bed with him, but had conked out - it was the thud and the yell that woke me up.

fay68 · 03/12/2006 20:44

Hi all. ds is nearly 6m and it really is hard to believe. He only rolls to one side though, but when he's sitting he loves to keel right forward, stretch out and land on his belly. It's really funny but dd never did that so it's a bit "?!"
waswondering I so agree with the older sibling thing. ds loves nothing better than to watch older sister, he goes all starry-eyed and has a permament sloppy grin. It makes a 2nd child so much easier to raise.
Vanish Oxi Action gets rid of my banana stains as well as everything else as long as I bung it in to soak with it asap while still fresh.Hope that helps.
I'm still breastfeeding for what seems like 15 times a day (incl throughout night) with baby rice or homemade fresh veg pure for early lunch and fresh pureed fruit such as apple, pear or banana for tea. Sometimes juice instead for variety.
Is this too little meals and too much breastfeeding? (he is 24 weeks)

alibobble · 03/12/2006 21:10

no idea! TBH i think BF is a whole diff ball game to bottles so couldn't tell you but then they are supposed to be BF till 6 mths. I guess from now on till 9 mths you increase food and decrease BF but I guess you'll get a visit from HV soon regarding that. Isn't it rihght that by 9 moths they should be working towards 3 meals a day and getting most of their nutition from solids not milk? May be wrong there.

I understand the BLW argument but also see that I don't want dd to still think that bottles are a suitable thing to be having at a year and a half. Plus dd LOVES food so much better than bottles. I agree veg = not too filling. That said, I introuced white potato in completment to sweet potato and that has made a BIG dif to milk intake that other veg didn't. Also started with a little bit of AK rice pasta as DD doesn't mind lumps. Also seems to slow her down eating so she gets less wind as she WOLFS her food despite bottle first! With it a bit lumpier she takes her time more.

Anyone else having trouble with peas? No other veg inclu spinach has caused prob or been rejected. DD LOVES peas (were pureed AND seived) but she got SO much trapped wind from them it was awful. Full on colic like when she was a baby.

Been back to Dr today re DD's "innocent" heat murmur. Dr has now changed his tune and referred us to a specialist as he thinks she has a valve problem. DH and I are very upset as you can imgine, not what you want to hear

RachelPross · 04/12/2006 15:07

Re the food stains on clothes and bib / tea towl discussion. I got a huge plastic bib, not the hard kind, it's wipe clean and v big (covers nost of DD's clothes), ties around the neck and is the nest thind I ever got her. She doesn't mind wearing it, unlike the hard pelican bibs. Got it from Woolies...I'd recommend them!! Bibs with arms, also a v handy thing if DD is trying her hand at feeding herself bits of rusk or whatever.
