Hi ladies, here is a thread to get us started. The support of other 'Maysters' has been so valuable, would hate to miss out on this once babies arrive. I have a feeling we are still going to have lots of questions and experiences to share! Smile

Ibu1986 - Moved LOs bedtime to 8pm which seems to be working. Doesn't seem to matter what time I put her to sleep - she wakes up at 2.30am for a feed regardless. Bringing bed time forward has meant longer sleep time for us. During the day we put her on the play gym mat thing so she can knacker herself out. Having a nice routine Bath > feed > story > bed seems to be helping too. Important thing is - sleepless stage will pass. A few weeks ago she was only sleeping 3-4 hrs at a time but since week 12 things have been getting much better x

I've moved Mabel's bedtime to 8pm too as she seems to be more settled with going earlier she is pretty much going through the night now with the occasional wake up once through the night so I know I'm so lucky! Hope everyone is ok, it's very quiet on here these days...

BeanCalledPickle · 17/07/2015 14:08

I think pretty much everyone has decamped to the Facebook group instead. Are you members?

Chookford · 17/07/2015 21:48

I'm not on fb bean.....

Ibu1986 · 18/07/2015 07:00

What's the Facebook group? Would I be able to join please?

Teaandcrumpets2 · 18/07/2015 07:07

Could I join then facebook group too?
Had the best night so far will DS. He slept 8-11, 12-3.30 and 4-6.30. Fingers crossed he does this again tonight... Still feel shattered but better than any other night!

Ibu1986 · 18/07/2015 07:51

That's great teaandcrumpets Smile

Teaandcrumpets2 · 18/07/2015 08:35

Thanks ibu! The night before was awful so crossing fingers he carries on like this!

Ibu1986 · 18/07/2015 12:57

I found the earlier I put DS down the longer and better he slept! I was trying to keep him awake until 9pm but he was SO SO upset and waking up at around midnight for his first feed. Now he goes down most nights between 7 and 8 and sleeps around 12 hours with 2/3 feeds. His first block of sleep is around 5 hours though these past few days he's done longer than 5!

It might be worth trying. Hope he sleeps well tonight.

Teaandcrumpets2 · 18/07/2015 17:51

That's sounds good ibu. What sort of routine do you have in the evening when you are putting your little one to bed if you don't mind me asking. DS has just gone for another nap so hoping it won't be for too long so that I can get him sorted for bed in an hour or so.

BeanCalledPickle · 18/07/2015 21:16

I'll post on the FB group and get whoever is the admin to pop in and pick you up! I think pretty much everyone hangs out there now!

Titsalinabumsquash · 18/07/2015 21:23

Hello! I'm here with the bus to Facebook Maysters group Grin

If you let me know via pm your email address I'll add you to the Facebook group if you're wanting to join us.????

Ibu1986 · 19/07/2015 06:49

Teaandcrumpets- depending on the time of his last nap we give him a bath when he starts getting grisly (somewhere between 6- 6:45). DH usually does this and sings to him. Then we do 5 mins of massage once out the bath (just rubbing belly and feet as he likes this) before final breast feed in darkened bedroom with white noise app going. Then it's swaddle on. We've been doing the same routine since week 5/6. Previously he had to be rocked or fed to sleep, but this week he's been going down drowsy and he's managed to fall asleep himself. No doubt it'll all go tits up soon, but it works well for us and we're doing it now even on holiday. Last night he went to sleep at 7:30, woke up for a feed at 1:30 and 4:30 before waking up for the day at 7:50am.

Ibu1986 · 19/07/2015 06:55

applecore0317 · 20/07/2015 10:25

Chook that's impressive! We're going to start bringing her up earlier from today but we are really struggling to get her to sleep before 11pm :( How are you managing it?

ibu good to know, we've been doing bath time at 8pm, so clearly it's a bit late...

Gingerbreadlady1 · 21/07/2015 00:37

Hi there! Im an infrequent poster but a regular reader. Have found this group so useful & reassuring! Can i join fb group please?

applecore0317 · 21/07/2015 01:48

Hi ginger can you PM titsallinabumsquash your email address? she can then send you an invite

Gingerbreadlady1 · 21/07/2015 23:48

Hi apple, ive sent a message. Thanks!

Chookford · 22/07/2015 13:40

apple I know I'm very lucky with her she will start to get ratty around 6.6.30pm so we take her up for a bath then she has a little play on her mat then pjs on and sleeping bag final bottle and then bed, she pretty much falls asleep before bottle is finished then I put her straight to bed and she generally stays there until morning! She has been doing this since week 2 so no sure If that's why she is so settled or I'm just very very lucky!

applecore0317 · 22/07/2015 15:08

That's awesome chook

for the last two nights we've gone up around 7.30, bathed and put her down to play and let her drift off and the first night she did 9-3.50 then 4.15 - 7.15 and similar last night, we had no witching hour last night and it was all calm, so the settling thing seema to be working as normally she won't go down before 11.30

Chookford · 22/07/2015 17:02

apple that's sounds good, seems she likes that calm drifting off to sleep! Long may it last I say!!

applecore0317 · 22/07/2015 18:16

Ha ha definitely! she's slept a lot today though which makes me think tonight won't be as good lol

Ibu1986 · 23/07/2015 05:26

That's amazing apple! They say sleep begets sleep so hopefully she'll slept even better last night.

applecore0317 · 23/07/2015 17:30

she took longer to settle but did seven hours then two and a half Grin
