We've no time for JSing. We're battling green nappies, sleepless nights, x-box playing men and trying to hide our sling addictions. Fuck it, let's do a runner on a golf cart.

Everything here also covered in drool.

Zyla just want to say you inspired me to take the girls swimming - just thought 'fuck it let's give it a shot' and she loved it! Which was weird but great. So hopefully can find a session/lesson to go to after the summer which fits in with nursery.

WilHarlot · 20/06/2015 14:55

Oh and glad miniscoob is better but not so good about minimini! How old is she now?

cookielove · 20/06/2015 16:00

Glad to hear miniscoob is feeling better scoob :)

min I know mini is not sleeping through, but if memory serves me correctly did she not sleep through when she was little or am I talking shite?

E now has all his naps in his bed, he had two hours in the morning and is having another nap now he is an hour into it! He is sleeping through (I sleep trained) but is suffering with his teeth again :( so rumbles but will self settle now!

wil swimming might help with bath time as you can spend your time cuddling her in the pool :)

Minion · 20/06/2015 17:08

cookie I wish. She managed to sleep through 3 nights only, then the 4 month thing hit and she's back to needing night feeds.

The little Madam is not interested at all in milk in the day, but at night, she'll have it and happily nod off.
I can't wait till she realises that there's more than fake milk to drink.
She has however truly worked her own napping schedule, exactly the same times as yesterday, which makes things easier for me.
Taking her swimming in Monday, she loves the bath, shower and paddling pool... What could go wrong? Famous lady words ha!

Minion · 20/06/2015 17:08

How did you sleep train cookie?

WilHarlot · 20/06/2015 21:01

Ah she'll love it Min. Just make sure you have a bottle handy for afterwards.

I am going to clear out the nursery next week in anticipation of shipping her out. Is it weird I'm finding stuff like this harder with my second?

ZylaB · 20/06/2015 21:09

We go away for 2 weeks when H is 7 and a bit months old, so I think I'm going to leave her in with us until we go away, then use that as a change of routine and put her in her own room when we come home. Though I may start trying to use her room for daytime naps, if she ever learns to put herself to sleep during the day!

I second making sure there's some sort of milk for after swimming, makes them hungryyyyy!

wil it's not weird, it's snuggly! :)

ZylaB · 21/06/2015 06:29

Possibly a stupid question, and please don't hate me for why I'm asking...but... If H does 9 or 10 hours straight at night without a feed, is it going to mess my milk supply for the day or will I just adjust? I'm worried she won't get enough in the day dos I won't be making much overnight, if that makes sense?

PixieChops · 21/06/2015 07:37

Hi everyone! I've graduated a week early due to elective c section. Here's my stats as such:

Name: Pixie
Age: 29
Engaged
Children: 1 DD of 13 months (natural birth- forceps) and 1 DS of 4 days (ELCS)
Current diagnosis: still look 20 weeks pregnant- when does the bump go down after a C section?! After DD it pretty much deflated straight away.
Boobs are rock hard due to not breastfeeding and I'm leaking everywhere. Queue new nickname given by DP- Milky Tits
Exhausted, hungry and slightly emotional.

WilHarlot · 21/06/2015 08:09

Aw Pixie, it will get easier - or more realistically, you will get used to it. Congratulations again and welcome to the world of two rugrats to chase after.

zyla one day shouldn't make a difference. If she starts regularly sleeping longer then you will make less but it should be perfectly in tune with her needs. Unless you're doing regular pumping/bottles which can affect things a bit.

Just saw an article about the dangers of more than 8 hours sleep a night Grin Grin Grin . Think I'll be safe enough with my nightly 4.5/5 hours!

ZylaB · 21/06/2015 08:58

Hey pixie welcome and congrats! Don't forget you'll be swollen due to the surgery, it will go down, just give yourself chance :)

wil more than 8 hours is getting regular, but as long as I'll make enough for her that's ok! What dangers? Am fretting now!

Minion · 21/06/2015 09:33

8 hours?
8 hours?
What I'd give for 8 hours.
We had a horrendous night here. She woke bang on 11 and didn't settle til 1:30! Wasn't even hungry.
Then up at 3:30 where she had a full bottle and is been a struggle to give her more this morning.
I really feel I'm at the end of my tether.

Forced her to stay up 2 hours after waking and put her down awake and crying. Just patted her and she fell asleep. Hope it wasn't a one off.
Let's see how long this lasts (45 mins)

minimooo · 21/06/2015 09:41

Hi pixie lovely to see you over here. I had my emcs 7 weeks ago and I'm afraid to say that I still have a jelly belly! Mind you, I had some pretty nasty complications so I think my recovery has been a lot slower than a normal elcs. Make sure you get lots of rest (well, as much as you can with two babies to look after!) so that you can recover faster. Big hugs x

wil E is 7 weeks old today. We've been using the gripe water for 24 hours now and she's definitely happier and not crying so much. Phew!

We've just spent the morning making a father's day card while dh is having a lie in. I got some green finger paint and she obligingly did some footprints on a card! I think she quite enjoyed it got green paint everywhere though Grin

minimooo · 21/06/2015 09:55

Oh min that sounds utterly miserable Sad I wish I could say something to help or suggest a solution, but I'm so new to all of this myself that I don't know. But I can send you hugs and sympathy. I really hope things start improving soon x

Fattycow · 21/06/2015 10:13

Hello! Can I come in and play?

minimooo · 21/06/2015 13:40

Hi fatty! Welcome! How's it all going? Smile

WilHarlot · 21/06/2015 13:53

Hi Fatty! How are things going?

Sorry zyla it was about adult sleep, didn't mean to make you worry about H! Just some nonsense about dying earlier. I'd give anything for micro to do 8 hours. I feel your pain Min, in the same boat here.

Pixie I think after the second the belly doesn't go away unless you do some serious working out!

ZylaB · 21/06/2015 13:56

Hey fatty :)

Ah ok wil, I didn't mean me for that long, just H :) :)

JuniDD · 21/06/2015 16:14

Hello new mummies! Congratulations!

Min I think R and S are in cahoots. A similar tale here which has left me questioning every decision ever! May try a different room as I think she gets too hot.

Do tell if the dangers of 8 hours sleep. That mummy will be refreshed and happy!?!?

Zyla your supply will be fine, she may just feed more in the day than babies the same age but don't mind that.

Been to the baby wearing conference today....only bought one sling! Wink

Minion · 21/06/2015 16:22

R lasted a whole hour and a half, the longest she's ever gone on a morning nap, the afternoon however, well, 30 mins was better than nowt eh? TBF we were in town, she prob would have had a decent one if she was in bed, but then my social life goes out the window.
She's just had a big meltdown when trying to put her down for her afternoon nap, such fun!

FurryScoob · 21/06/2015 17:26

Congratulations to all the new mums, can't believe how many babies have popped out in the last few weeks. I'm never gonna keep up with this thread now!

pixie my bumps still deflating & Miniscoobs now 7 months old Blush may need to give up the chocolate.

juni what was your weaning course? We did a crap one with some woman who works with the health visitors but it was no help at all.

Miniscoobs still snotty & refusing to eat food just blows Rasberries with a mouthfulConfused

WilHarlot · 21/06/2015 19:16

Haha wee monkey Furry.

Here too Min. If you're not paying her 100% attention then she's crying. I think she's tired because we go out so much she doesn't get decent naps.

teejayem · 21/06/2015 19:35

Viroids, I need some reassurance...

Had some fairly significant 'arts and crafts' on my foof after delivering tiny tee. (episiotomy, 3rd degree tear) Confused it's 10 days since I had him and in doing all the recommended things, tea tree and lavender baths, witch hazel pads, etc, and pain wise it hasn't been too bad. Also just finished a course of hardcore antibiotics so I don't get perineal leprosy or whatever. Anyway, getting up off the sofa earlier with TT and I felt a popping sensation, which I can only assume is/was some of the ol' tapestry coming undone, so I've taken a look and it just doesn't seem very healed at all Sad I'm not an expert by any means, and they haven't been checked since I got them done so I'm not sure what the whole situation is supposed to look like. Is it normal to be pretty horrified and kind of upset by the whole thing? I've got a postnatal check at the local community hospital tomorrow so I'll get the mudwife to have a look then too, but I was hoping it'd have started to come together a bit by now, tbh it's taken the shine right off things, as every time I think about it, and how long it's going to take to heal, it makes me burst into tears, which is driving me up the wall and making mr tee worry. Anyone else have arts and crafts give me an idea of timescale or if they had any stitchy ishoos?

Ps, used my caboo today! It's amazing!

Minion · 21/06/2015 20:38

Ummm I've toyed with telling you this tee but my mate has her little boy 18 months + ago and is on her second lot of surgery this August. But, she was really mangled down there. I mean, really truly mangled...

Tonight we have pushed R's bedtime to 8, hell she managed it at the gps, so why not here

I shush patted for the first time, I may be a late convert !

FurryScoob · 21/06/2015 21:39

Don't panick yet tee 10 days is still really early for the healing. I think things are supposed to look like roadkill for a while but I was never brave enough to look. Blush I found laying on the bathroom floor & letting the air get to things helped as well as moving about as little as I could.

What is all this shush patting? Is it exactly what it says?
