Oh no poor r- hope you all managed to get dry and back to sleep. Took your advice and my family have bought larmer tree festival 1 day tickets for my birthday :) can't wait! And under 5's free- brilliant.

Hales- £50 that's great!

Can't remember who it was- maybe hales? But someone last year got a really good deal on an activity paddling pool. Anyone got any recommendations?

Love our thread- :)

MrsNutella · 30/06/2015 10:02

ddas I love the sound of the family festivals! I can't wait to take the DC out to stuff like that.

Delad I really feel for you in the heat - my last five ish weeks carrying DD were awful! another reason to add to the just two DC list I hope you're ok and drinking gallons and finding somewhere cool to hang out and relax. ThanksWine

I need to start thinking about 1st birthday presents for DD! It's six weeks today ShockShockShock I need to let both families know some ideas and also what we don't need. We already have about 5 pull along toys Confused I might get her some books from us... I hope she gets a few toys because DH and I are fairly stingy

MrsNutella · 30/06/2015 10:03

Oh, if anyone has any tips... All welcome! In loving the wooden toys and DD loves them for chewing on. She is a monster.

halestone · 30/06/2015 10:04

Delad, i hope your feeling better soonThanks

Ddas www.smythstoys.com/uk/en-gb/outdoor/c-647/pools-sand-pits/p-1220/dinosaur-pool-play-centre/ this is the one we got. Its only £35.

Was it good for older kids too? Ds is 4. What you think of the slide- some reviews said too small to use?

DeladionInch · 30/06/2015 12:23

www.etsy.com/uk/shop/CoastalPathCreations for Nut a little present for both of you!

Apparently it'll be at least a week before the iron makes a difference Sad

SpottyTeacakes · 30/06/2015 16:09

29 degrees here atm. We've come indoors. I've got horrible swollen rashes on the bottom of both my legs. Am falling to bits Grin

halestone · 30/06/2015 16:22

Ddas from what i can remember it was a small slide. When we moved into our house last june we brought a cheap paddling pool like this one Check out this item I found on eBay: pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=380958533774&alt=web . It lasted until yesterday when H went through the side of it as we have put the slide into it. TBH i preferred the cheaper one it was easier to clean and store and we got so much more use out of it. I have just stupidly brought a minions blow up paddling pool today and its tiny. I will be buying one like the one in the link asap.

Apparently my links aren't working from my phone. If you go onto ebay and type in rigid snapset paddling pools thats what i meant.

Barbeasty · 30/06/2015 18:36

My MIL just uses a normal paddling pool and then puts the bottom of a little tikes slide into it. It works really well.

I upgraded my phone yesterday, and they managed to turn the old sim off but not switch the new one on. I've hated being without a working phone all day!

MrsNutella · 30/06/2015 20:26

delad plenty of vitamin c rich things helps the iron be absorbed. You might not notice when you feel better, you'll suddenly realise that you don't feel so crappy (my iron dipped a lot with DD). I think a B vitamin complex also helps.... But I could be wrong... Or maybe it was VitD.... Or just ignore me and ask a professional! Grin

A teething necklace sounds like a nice thing for DD Smile she chews the spines of books off and the side of the bath argh goes right through me when I'm having a shower.

It's been lovely today. Hot but not too hot. But things are supposed to get stupid heat up from tomorrow on Confused

DeladionInch · 30/06/2015 22:01

Yeah I'm mainlining juice - got through a litre just at work tonight - and beef, spinach, hummus etc to get it up. Just didn't realise it was a slow process!

SpottyTeacakes · 01/07/2015 18:35

32 degrees! Sweltering.

Hales I've worked out where ds gets silly goose from...it's alvin and the chipmunks!

DeladionInch · 01/07/2015 19:10

Still 28° in my lounge, I've got my feet up and dh is cooking!

SpottyTeacakes · 01/07/2015 19:12

I've got fat pregnant ankles pidj and I'm not even pregnant Hmm

MrsNutella · 01/07/2015 19:29

Saw the ENT again today. He made a small cut in my ear and drained out some fluid. I have to go back tomorrow for a hearing test... The Dr said that although he got lots out if it doesn't work then they will have to do it again. It was not fun. I am still deaf so I guess they will have to do it again.

DH is away now until Fri evening. I am fed up Sad

DeladionInch · 01/07/2015 19:47

I'm OK as long as I don't spend too much time on my feet. Otherwise I can barely bend them for swelling! Am watching out for tingliness, headaches etc but was the same with R

MrsNutella · 01/07/2015 20:31

My midwife had me drinking nettle tea. It seems to help - 2 or three cups in the morning (it isn't the tastiest tea). If you drink it in the afternoon you'll be peeing all night... I remember the heat, it seemed to go on forever!

How many weeks are you now Delad? ?

I also took magnesium right before bed - in fact I still do, most nights - otherwise I get cramps in my calves.

I hope you start to feel better soon. Thanks And that you get some cool refreshing weather!

Barbeasty · 01/07/2015 20:36

We had sports day today. 3 hours manning the pta tent selling water, ice pops and strawberries. I reckon we could have charged 5 times the price for the ice lollies! We did give every pupil one when they'd finished though. When we drove home the car said it was 34c.

After having DD in the 2010 heatwave, you have my full sympathy Delad

I would actually have preferred being at work today- air conditioned office.

A had a major strop at nursery today, and proudly told us he was in time out.

Hope your ear improves overnight Nutella.

DeladionInch · 01/07/2015 20:55

Iirc twinings do blackberry and nettle which is drinkable with enough honey, thanks! Nearly 30, getting close

WLmum · 01/07/2015 22:19

I'm falling apart too spotty I got bitten by horseflies at the weekend and my legs are like jelly. My tooth still hurts so dentist again on Friday and I've got a big old lady belly - thinky coil is to blame. To add to Friday's joy I've made an apt to have it taken out.
delad low iron sucks - hope it's on it's way back up. Rest lots.
nutella ear ache sucks too. And with no dh to help I'm not surprised you're fed up.
In super good news dms oncology apt went amazingly well, her liver tumours have shrunk and her bone tumours haven't grown Smile

Barbeasty · 01/07/2015 22:28

Great news about your mum WL. Hope you're in better shape come Saturday.

I think we could have rented buckets of cold water for people's feet today too! There were people wearing ice packs down their cleavage!

There was also a mother in the mothers' race who definitely wasn't in the top for it. Luckily it was only the dinner ladies holding the finishing line tape who saw what popped out.

WLmum · 01/07/2015 22:46

beasty Grin

MrsNutella · 02/07/2015 09:13

Back to the ENT for more ear drum fun I suspect Sad can someone take DD for a week while I'm there? She is in mega whinge mode at the moment.

I am so tired.

halestone · 02/07/2015 10:13

Brilliant news WLGrin

Beasty that sounds hilarious.

Good Luck Nutella.

Spotty H isn't it funny what sayings they pick up. H is really into the Despicable Me film at the moment i think we have watched it 10 times in the last 7 days.

Delad, wow your pregnancy has flown. I hope your iron levels don't take to long to come back up.

H had her 1st accident last night, it was only a small wee but she woke up crying straight away so i put her on the toilet and she finished a huge wee. Bless her she was very upset.
