Sorry to hear that hales. Dh's grandad died from motor neurone disease a year ago, it's awful.

WLmum · 25/06/2015 21:10

WLmum · 25/06/2015 21:10

We got 2 free tickets for legoland from the sun so I boosted my tesco points for 2 more. Free day out on Sunday!

Barbeasty · 25/06/2015 21:28

Thanks all. She said it was the best day ever.

Hales so sorry (on both counts). My aunt had MND, horrid disease.

A is hitting his water against the drawers. We might need to talk to nursery about his naps- although they say he just takes himself off and sleeps!

DeladionInch · 25/06/2015 21:28

Happy birthday minibeasty

halestone · 26/06/2015 21:54

That's funny hales

WLmum · 27/06/2015 00:19

I've got a very first world problem. I bought dh a picture for an anniversary pressie (14 yrs next week!) - the frame I had in mind doesn't work, so I found one that does. But it doesn't work with the other picture frame that will be near it! Harrumph. Told you it was first world!

ddas · 27/06/2015 01:28

I've just had the most frustrating evening at work. Why do people/collegues working in other areas find the need to be obstructive when really you should all have the same goal in mind. That sounds cryptic but given open site hopefully you know what I mean.

SpottyTeacakes · 27/06/2015 06:33

I know what you mean ddas. One of the local hospitals said to us (regarding an urgent referral) 'well the wait for gastro is thirty weeks but you're not allowed to tell the patient that' Shock the lift broke yesterday too and all the consulting rooms are on first floor so that was fun. I had someone be really rude to me too. I used to be ok with it but now it just makes me cry Blush

Anyway today will be fun off to see Taylor swift and Ellie goulding in Hyde park and staying over Smile

ThreeFrazzledFandangos · 27/06/2015 07:48

Very grumpy here. Got a deeply annoying cough and feel like death.

I'm iff to watch wicked. It really having a bit of a strop!

WLmum · 27/06/2015 13:21

Revel in the grumps frazzled!

WLmum · 27/06/2015 13:37

Happy pride everyone!

halestone · 28/06/2015 12:29

Ddas, i have come to the conclusion that some people are far too lazy or interested in their own aims to be working as part of a team. I hope your next shift is better.

Spotty, how did your concert go?

I took H to dance class today, she did a supported head stand and jumped up and took a bow. I was laughing at her, she hadn't been taught to do the bow.

Yes thanks hales it was really goodSmile

WLmum · 28/06/2015 22:11

spotty so glad you had a great time. Question for you - when you had your coil, did you put on weight or get more bloated? The Dr told me not to google the mirena as the Internet is full of questionable scare stories. Of course I googled. Lots on there about weight gain which I dismissed but I've been exercising most days and my belly seems bigger than ever!

MrsNutella · 29/06/2015 05:50

WL are you sure your stomach muscles aren't still separated? If they aren't properly closed and you exercise it can open them up more.

Here they take the assumption that they always separate in pregnancy and the health insurance pays for a post pregnancy exercise course to help you get them to knit back together.

MrsNutella · 29/06/2015 05:54

and good morning everyone! Day 8 of antibiotics here, I feel better, still in pain occasionally. I just wish my ear would stop ringing! But I think that can take a while Hmm

SpottyTeacakes · 29/06/2015 06:00

Can't say I did Nutella. WL and ddas have mirena coils too I think. I bled for six months non stop otherwise no probs Smile

It's going to be in the low 30's this week I think I might go and buy a paddling pool.

ddas · 29/06/2015 09:41

I have the coil too. Initially had same as spotty with non stop bleeding but that settled. My belly seems more bloated but my muscles still seperated so when get bloated looks worse & I have been eating a lot the past few months!! Going to start the t25 exercise program today in the evenings as someone gave me the Dvd's but just avoid all the ab work as know it'll just make the separation worse. Need to do some core strength work for that.
Some people do get side effect of weight gain with most of the contraceptives including the coil sadly but it's a balance between which suits you the best.

MrsNutella · 29/06/2015 10:02

Tips for helping to close the stomach muscle gap:
always get up over the side (like you did when you were pregnant) and any kind of exercise needs to reflect that too.
No sit ups or crunches that go straight up but opposite shoulder to knee type crunches are ok.

I found it fascinating learning about it because I didn't think my muscles had separated, but the midwives you have post birth here keep track of that kind of thing and give you tips.

Hope everyone is enjoying some sun. And it is interesting to here about the coil, thank you ladies for sharing. I need to start thinking about contraception now that I'm not BF anymore I have more options.

WLmum · 29/06/2015 11:12

Thanks ladies. The coil seems to be suiting me in all other ways. I did get my stomach muscles checked and they were ok but will get my Pilates teacher (also a women's health physio) to check again on wed.
I think the sad truthay be that I just need to be stricter about eating!

halestone · 29/06/2015 21:21

Well today has been very mixed with H's behaviour she has alternated between being good or really really naughty all day. I have no idea if i am coming or going with her.

She has however managed to small a very small poo on the toilet i am so proud. She has also been out of nappies for just over a week of a night time as well. So i'm hoping we can get rid of the nappies soon, although i do intend on keeping an emergency stash incase shes poorly.

I also won a £50 Lidl voucher through commenting on a thread on MN. Grin I am so happy about it, then to make things even better i have been chosen to take part in a childrens book trail thing with MN and the book arrived this morning.

I hope everyone else is enjoying this weather.

Awesome hales!

DeladionInch · 30/06/2015 04:58

Sorry I'm being crap at the moment, anaemia and insomnia are kicking my ass! Just dealt with our first proper night wetting, think I might have persuaded him back to sleep Shock now to sort me out Hmm
