New thread for us.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
DeladionInch · 02/07/2015 13:15

R's like that if he sees in the night, it's why I took so long to take his night nappy away! He's been damp the last few mornings and waking early so is back in nappies for night, jarmies as he calls them for nap.

WLmum · 02/07/2015 23:02

I'm feeling all in a bit of a spin about having my coil out tom. I don't want the horrendous periods back but I can't live with this belly - honestly I look 4/5 months pg. even dh admitted it! I think the Dr will try to talk me out of it as she was v pro coil. Don't like either option!

Also dh has shaved off his beard for Macmillan brave the shave - awesome lovely man - his beard was 2 years in the making and was his pride and joy, but I HATE it and am finding his face irrationally annoying!

Hoorah for a cooler night though. I'll cuddle with my eyes closed!

SpottyTeacakes · 03/07/2015 06:01

WL how long have you had it? Do they know you want it removed? Some Drs won't do it there and then. Have you considered a different coil? Or injections? I've always found the injection suits me well.

WLmum · 03/07/2015 08:19

Had it since feb. apt is specifically for removal. Had injections many years ago and they sent me doo lally. I'm really sensitive to hormones. The only other thing causing my extreme belly is the ibuprofen I've been taking but the patient info doesn't say anything about that as a side effect.

MrsNutella · 03/07/2015 09:33

WL Flowers I hope the Dr is sympathetic today and is gentle with you! I have had the injection in the past - awful! Mini pill - awful! Normal pill - have to find the right one otherwise that also turns me into a raging mess.

Ironically I found that when I wasn't taking anything (for about two years before I met DH ) my periods were lighter and I suffered a lot less. I got a bit of back ache and a few spots but I was much happier than when I had been on the pill Confused so I don't know what I want to do now.

Hearing test yesterday at the ENT. Still not good. Next hearing test will be next Tuesday. If it isn't better by then he is going to fit a grommet in my ear drum (a teeny tiny tube that will let the fluid out which is stuck behind my ear drum) next Friday Confused it'll be a 20 minute op at a hospital... Not really happy but at least it will be fixed... I suppose....

WLmum · 03/07/2015 10:00

Poor you nutella. Horrid but as you say, at least it will fix it. Everyone I know who's (kids) have had grommets have been really pleased.
Glad it's not just me with hormonal contraceptive issues!!

WLmum · 03/07/2015 10:29

Driving home from the dentist and a branch fell out of a tree and smashed my windscreen. Totally shattered but luckily stayed in place long enough for me to get home. Can't go and collect T from mil though.

MrsNutella · 03/07/2015 12:21

WL that was lucky that only the windscreen was damaged! Shock Glad you're ok and I really want to make a joke about you asking the dentist about your coil.... But I won't

DeladionInch · 03/07/2015 12:54

WL Shock

Nut what about dh having the snip? That'll be our next move, probably early next year. He says it's his turn to be responsible!!

WLmum · 03/07/2015 13:10

The dentist was a different one to normal and rather nice in an older sort of way.
Dh would happily have the snip but I didn't have it for contraception, but for mega periods making me anaemic.

MrsNutella · 03/07/2015 14:14

WL have you had a consult with a gynaecologist? Might be worth a referral... Sorry you've probably already tried lots of things.

DH has also said he would have the snip but I won't let him yet. I can't make up my mind for definite about baby3. A part of me is happy that DD is almost a year and we are moving out of the baby phase. But I can't quite accept no third... Dunno yet.

halestone · 03/07/2015 21:25

WLThanks it sounds like you've had a crap day. I hope tomorrow is better for you.

NutellaThanks i hope your ears get better soon.

Delad, H had another accident last night, so we're giving her one last try again tonight and if she has an accident we're going back to nappies.

SpottyTeacakes · 03/07/2015 21:46

Oh WL how horrible! Hope you're ok.

Nutella same to you it sounds really rubbish Sad

We've been at the beach. Went after school and got back about half an hour ago. The dc were really good. I'll post a photo so you can all be jealous of the lovely beach Grin

WLmum · 03/07/2015 22:18

Bless you hales
spotty v jealous! We had some nice paddling pool fun - we have got a big slide that we stand over the edge - it's got a hose attachment underneath so water runs down the slide. Dds love it.
Dr somewhat reluctantly agreed to take my coil out and has given me a prescription for a non hormonal pill to help stem the bleeding and manage my periods. Bit miffed that non hormonal options were not discussed first time round.

DeladionInch · 04/07/2015 08:06

hales we've gone back to nappies for night, although not for naps. He was waking at 4:30/5 for a wee, not going back to sleep, and getting overtired so it was obviously a source of stress for him. I'd rather have the nappies. He also had a couple of accidents in the day which to me shows he's struggling with something.

WLmum · 04/07/2015 23:45

Poor T slid off a bouncy castle today and winded herself. It was awful, poor little thing, she couldn't even cry. Eventually she managed to stutter a request for boobies!

halestone · 05/07/2015 09:01

Delad, she had no accidents on Friday night but did wake up at 6ish and ask for a nappy as she needed a poo. We put the nappy and she promptly fell back asleep. So last night i asked her did she want a nappy on for sleep or not. She didn't want one so i explained again she had to tell me if she needed the toilet (i always put her on the toilet anyway when she wakes and have been doing for about 2 months prior to starting the no nappies). No accidents last night again. But she did only fall asleep at 1:30am as DP let her have a nap at tea time whilst i was in workShock

WL, i hope T is ok, its horrible when they hurt themselves.

OP posts:
DeladionInch · 05/07/2015 10:01

R's asleep by 7 so it's a very very long time to go without weeing (I'm the same although go to bed later!) I think in a nappy he relaxes more?

Hope Ts OK now, how scary!

WLmum · 05/07/2015 10:04

She's fine thanks delad cheeky as ever - first thing she said to me this morning was yummy yummy boobies and when I said no she said that I'd let her have se yesterday when she'd fallen off the bouncy castle and hurt her back! Monkey chops!

halestone · 05/07/2015 11:37

He probably does relax more. I always think parents know best so you will be doing the right thing for R. H wakes up still 2-3 times a night so we use those times to put her on the toilet.

WL, i love that T is trying to guilt your boob ha.Grin

WLmum · 05/07/2015 11:54

Today i am in love with my children. I am a lucky mummy and generally a lucky lady all round Smile

SpottyTeacakes · 05/07/2015 12:06

I'm your opposite today WL. I don't like anyone in my household and quite fancy running away.

WLmum · 05/07/2015 15:28

Oh spotty I've been there many times! Can leave the school with dh for a couple of hours?

SpottyTeacakes · 05/07/2015 16:00

I'm feeling better now Grin dd is so whiny at the moment it drives me mad!

WLmum · 05/07/2015 17:53

End of school year itis spotty. They're all exhausted. Sadly a teacher friend of mine told me that even the year 10/11 get afflicted by it!
