Larmer tree? Bestival?

Actually don't go to larmer tree I'd have to hate you from sheer jealousy forever Wink

SpottyTeacakes · 10/06/2015 08:28

Camp bestival is the big one but I think you need to have booked your tickets ages ago?

There's a family day in Hyde park on Sunday 28th which looks good and I'm awaiting lolibops ticket information which also looks good.

ddas · 10/06/2015 10:36

Wow just looked a lamer tree- looks amazing!!!!

ddas · 10/06/2015 10:37

Love they have music, comedy & kid friendly!

DeladionInch · 10/06/2015 11:21

I know levellers, bellowhead, show of hands and martin carthy!!!!!

WLmum · 10/06/2015 22:02

spotty I haven't heard great things about lolibop - very expensive and crowded, although I've never been myself.
I'm feeling really frustrated with working part time. Have just applied for a couple of more local jobs that I would try to negotiate to 4 days. I wish I could be 2 people!

SpottyTeacakes · 11/06/2015 05:50

Oh really? I find it weird that the tickets aren't released yet. We probably won't go anyway as we're going to legoland around that time and won't be able to afford that as well. The Hyde park one looks great though.

WLmum · 11/06/2015 08:18

We just got 2 free tickets to legoland through the sun. It pains me greatly to bolster that rag in any way but I couldn't turn them down.

SpottyTeacakes · 11/06/2015 08:24

That's what I did! We're going the last day of the summer holidays, it's a Wednesday so I'm hoping it'll be quiet. Must remember to cancel the membership.

halestone · 11/06/2015 10:08

Hope the weather is as lovely by you all as it seems to be here.

We put the slide into a paddling pool yesterday and the girls had ages of fun, especially when we added bubbles. They are already begging to go back in but i have said onky after DN comes home from nursery.

Barbeasty · 11/06/2015 21:39

A is a genius. An OFSTED inspector said so, so it must be true!

The nursery was inspected today. Apparently she was amazed at how clever he was- his key worker explained carefully that he isn't a genius, he's just very small!
Then the inspector asked if they should think about changing his nappy. Key worker explained again that he's older than he looks and has never worn nappies there.

It will be interesting to see their report.

Sounds like a lovely day Hales. I was stuck in meetings all day.

SpottyTeacakes · 11/06/2015 21:53

That's funny beasty!

Been hot here too have had a lovely day. Ds fell over and he was so sad! He was crying and going 'owwwwwww' over and over!

Dh has said we can have another baby. I want one so badly but practically I know we shouldn't. Not sure what to do.

WLmum · 11/06/2015 22:58

hales that sounds lovely. I was in an all day training course while dh took fil, T and dn to legoland on free tickets that pil got from the times. Fair? Jealous?
beasty hold onto that first line and delete the rest - although I did have a knob on the course today say to me 'I'm not being funny but I've been a member of Mensa for 30 years'. Not funny no, twatish.
spotty oh tough one! Obviously I'm biased that 3 is the magic number! Honestly, T has changed the dynamics in our house for the better, and has brought lots of fun and joy too. On the other hand, 3 is harder than 2 (lots of people say it's not), less time and attention, only 2 hands, more expensive, bigger car etc. also it strings out the pre-school years so childcare/work issues for longer. I knew I wasn't done after 2 and I think I would have always felt sad about it, but now I know I'm done and feel happy about that. I guess it's a head vs heart decision. Tough one.

SpottyTeacakes · 12/06/2015 06:00

That's exactly it. Our house isn't big enough and rent for a three bed is £1200 round here plus if we do get to move then we risk being miles away from the dc school.

However the bedrooms in this house are big enough to easily be divided, once they're all at school I will at least be able to work five mornings a week as opposed to the two I do now. We can afford a new car.

Humph.

MrsNutella · 12/06/2015 08:42

WL my dad is a member of Mensa and he is an arsehole. I actually said that to a colleague once who used that line on me when he did something really dumb. I told him that he was stupid and he said " blah blah blah Mensa" I said "yeah dad. Arse. Mensa blah" and he said "fair point" GrinGrin
I may have paraphrased that conversation a little

spotty it is a really hard decision. I want three kids. But I'm not sure about three pregnancies and a third baby... I'll see how I feel in the next couple of years. DH wants just the two... I don't know. I'm no help. Sorry.

Last night we all slept! Hurrah!

But we were on our way to bed when I decided to use the downstairs loo. DH went upstairs to start getting ready for bed. I was in the toilet and could hear this thud... Thud... Thud noise coming down the stairs. It stopped and I looked out the loo but couldn't see anything.
Then I heard DH come down the stairs and he picked up DS who wanted to go downstairs. I was starting to freak out! But then DS went back to sleep ok and we all got to sleep solidly until 6am. Hurrah!

DS is keeping his nap for the moment. He is going to bed and to sleep between 7&8 and sleeping until around 6 am. So I guess he still needs it.

WLmum · 12/06/2015 14:25

Fantastic new nutella

halestone · 12/06/2015 14:46

Spotty, tbh i am awful and always go with my heart over my head as i always just think that once somethings done everything falls into place. I hope you make the best decision for you and your family.

halestone · 12/06/2015 14:49

Beasty, yay to A the little Genius, i agree with WL just remember the 1st sentence of what you were told and forget the rest.

WL, that man sounds like an idiot, i hate people who feel the need to tell people how clever they are.

OP posts:
WLmum · 12/06/2015 21:14

It's such a shame as he's actually a generally very nice man but he sure does rate himself.
Feel like I'm becoming a bit of a media hag - dbs partner was on this morning this morning - he is the Dr on a new Jeremy Kyle show. It's truly bizarre!

ThreeFrazzledFandangos · 12/06/2015 21:38

Vomit vomit! Everywhere I look!

WLmum · 12/06/2015 22:04

Oh no frazzled I assume it's ds? Hope he/you are ok.

ThreeFrazzledFandangos · 12/06/2015 22:26

Yep it's him. 5 confirmed cases of rotavirus at nursery.

He started being sick in his sleep at 8pm n has done another 4 lots since then.

I keep crying cos it's so horrible to watch him this upset.

WLmum · 12/06/2015 22:39

Poor little thing. How awful for you both. Towels. Put towels under his head and then just take it away with a parcel of sick! It causes less disruption, less mess and ultimately less washing I find. I really hope he starts to feel a bit better soon. Can he sip any dioralyte?

ThreeFrazzledFandangos · 12/06/2015 22:45

There are two bath sheets covering the bed and another for mopping up sick! I've already washed my bedding, his bedding and five towels!

It's vomiting of biblical proportions!

He's still chucking up bile. He won't ever drink anything but water but I have a cup here for when he can stomach some.

halestone · 13/06/2015 01:36

Oh no Frazzled i hope both of you are getting some sleep right now. I hope J is feeling much better soon. Thanks

I can't sleep my cousins are coming to stay tomorrow night and i have cleaned as much as i can today but have stuff i can only do tomorrow. So i keep going over it in my head. They are coming for a good reason though, we are going to my grandads surprise 80th birthday party tomorrow night. I can't wait for us all to be together.
