Hi RL yes i'm on the facebook group as Hazel Nutter (even though my name is Vikki, long story but i deleted my fb account ages ago and created an alias just for groups and offers etc hence fake name)
I'll pop a picture on later :) would love to see your Max too :)

Got him registered yesterday so he's all official. Now just need to claim child benifit, open his bank account and sort my passport out so I can get him one. then I can book a holiday YAY!!!

sorry to hear you're having a tough time Brum. my DH seems to get stressed about the untidy house and it gets to me too, but like someone else said, at this stage spending time together is more important than chores and thats what i keep trying to remember.

Managed to take dog on hours walk today, even though by the end of it i feel like my backsides gonna fall apart!

In more annoying news, and totally un-baby-related. The roofer who dropped a tile on DH's arm last week knocked on the door to say he refuses to give any details so that we can't put in a compensation claim. so mad about that, me thinks he doesn't have insurance, so were pretty much stuck and it's tough luck for DH's now scarred arm. an apology for the accident would have been nice. I feel like standing in the back yard throwing stones at him (totally mature or me i know lol)

FiRaffe · 07/05/2015 16:25

Sorry you're having tough days ladies. Hope things improve really soon for everyone.

Went to the local babies group today with 2 girls from NCT and it was nice to be out. Will go and vote with DH later hopefully with DS in the new sling as recommended on Facebook. Fingers crossed he likes it!

PenguinPoser · 07/05/2015 16:27

Hiding that's ridiculous!! What details is he refusing to give? Can you complain directly to someone higher up in the company? I could just imagine bbc rogue traders or don't get done get Dom getting on the case!

Daholster your DH is being unreasonable- but agree with what cinnamon and squatting said.

I know what you mean about the antenatal thread squatting... It's scarier in postnatal! Grin

Feeding dd and waiting for DH to get in... Hoping I can leave her with him and go upstairs for a nap.

BrixtonBunny · 07/05/2015 16:33

Firaffe hope you like the sling! Grin

Hiding agree with penguin, don't give up on getting his details! Threaten to go to the police or something Wink

BrixtonBunny · 07/05/2015 16:35

Also yes, totally need to open a bank account for DD (once we get her birth registered, council didn't have any slots for ages!) - then she will have somewhere for her child benefit to go!

FiRaffe · 07/05/2015 17:41

Sorry to hear that hiding, we must have cross posted. As the ladies say, keep pushing and if it's a company go higher!!!

Lauren82000 · 07/05/2015 17:57

Surely your neighbour knows the guys name and presumably his company name is written on his van! Just take what info you have to citizens advice they can tell you what to do with it.

Hiding _ surely the builder cannot refuse- and what a cheek to come and tell,u he was refusing. Can u get his details off ur neighbour. I saw the cut on ur DH- it was massive- what if he had been holding baby or it had hit a child- could have done a lot of damage.

londonlivvy · 07/05/2015 19:20

thanks brixton for the peanut butter banana smoothie idea. sounds delicious.

I'm finding solo bedtimes really tricky as dd2 gets overtired and howls and then dd1 can't even hear her bedtime stories over the howls. I'm not sure how to fix it. if I take dd2 up to bed earlier I'm leaving dd1 unattended creating havoc downstairs. not ideal. My original plan was bath 530, then telly for dd1 from 6-630 (during which time I'd get dd2 to bed) and then stories etc and bed by 7. But by 6, it's almost too late already. But I can't leave dd1 in the bath. or hoick her out after five mins (what is she supposed to do whilst I spend an hour trying to persuade dd2 to sleep?)

ideas anyone?

smogsville · 07/05/2015 19:42

London I'm not even bothering with bedtime for DS until later on as he needs feeding too frequently to make it worthwhile. I tend to feed him while doing DD's stories.

I've got really sore neck and shoulders this evening from all the bending and lifting - had forgotten about this joyful part of having a baby.

Oh and in other comedy news DS just did his first mid-change wee! A glorious big jet of it came whooshing up necessitating a third outfit change. Luckily DD was in her bath so I gave him a quick dunk.

Lauren82000 · 07/05/2015 20:07

No help here either London I'm afraid as we tend to keep DD2 with us downstairs till we go to bed. DD1 goes up at 7-7.30 depending on when DD2 feeds. With DD2 feeding every 1-2-3 hours it's difficult to put her down without knowing how long till I'm feeding and settling her again. I won't be leaving her unattended until I feel comfortable and her settling time reduces. Currently stands at 45mins after a feed to get her back in her basket. I only started putting DD1 down with a proper bedtime when she had out grown the basket and was in the crib in our room. I'm probably going with the same time frame this time round too.

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 07/05/2015 20:08

Any advice on a sudden very achey boob? Feels bruised inside. Only started around midday after a walk to the polling station...

Hope everyone is having a nice day!

FiRaffe · 07/05/2015 20:20

Good luck with the bedtime, sorry I can't help with any tips.

No idea on boob pain either littlegrey - could it be increased milk flow?

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 07/05/2015 20:24

Perhaps Fi. I think maybe it was just full when I walked for 30 mins in a bra that was a bit loose? Or perhaps it's that she's not been cluster feeding today? So annoying to have been symptom spotting for various different things since last August!!

cinnamongreyhound · 07/05/2015 20:54

We are the same as everyone else londonlivvy, Sam stays down with us until we go to bed. Depending on what dh is doing he will do bedtime and I will just go up for a kiss or I do it and if he's unsettled I just feed him while I do bedtime and do everything else 1 handed but they do most things themselves.

I also agree with everyone else hidingthefear, they can't keep that from you. Find out from the neighbour or from their van and take it elsewhere if they won't help you! Well done on dog walk, each one gets easier Smile

PenguinPoser · 07/05/2015 21:05

I love la leche league already - having trouble with dd being super windy and I think her latch is shallow and she's taking excess air when feeding. Have messaged a local LLL leader and she's going to see me tomorrow! Smile

Haven't posted on here much recently as I'm now on the Facebook group! Hope everyone is ok.

How strange is this - a girl I work with is in slow labour at the moment and u actually feel jealous!? As painful and long as my labour was, I really enjoyed my time in the hospital as I found the care excellent and just in general the build-up and excitement just makes me feel like I actually miss that stage! Obviously over the moon that Max is here though, of course! Grin.
I felt the need to message bombard her with tips and support - didn't think I would feel like this! Makes me feel quite emotional!

FiRaffe · 08/05/2015 03:01

We're obviously all following the election coverage!

Have been so tired tonight and DH has been brilliant. He took him after his last feed and winded him etc and let me sleep until now. DS is now chomping away and hopefully he'll go back in his basket.... fingers crossed, I desperately need sleep it feels. Ah well!

Hope everyone else is having an okay night

Lauren82000 · 08/05/2015 03:11

Not a bad night so far cinnamon but I have to say I don't think my deodorant is doing much, i have done nothing sweat worthy today and not even sweated much in my sleep but I've just caught a whiff of myself and I stink Blush could my chemistry have changed? I've been using the same deodorant for years and never had a problem.

PenguinPoser · 08/05/2015 04:36

Tonight is better than last night. dd slept 8.30-1ish and 2-4 so far. DH gave her ebm bottle for the 1am feed. I was awake though as we were watching the election results and needed to express a bit. I napped on the sofa from 9-12 which was good. DH is tired as he stayed awake - heavens knows why! We could have come to bed at 9! I'm still exhausted but it's all catching up with me.

Lauren I've been more sweaty too but don't know why!
