Still have a sore throat. Hope it doesn't develop into anything more. Had a bit of a disastrous day so far which I have moaned about on FB - basically involves poonamis and me being daft going to the wrong shop. We've had to get a new baby monitor. It basically didn't work! It wouldn't hold connection. So it's gone back and I have picked up a BT one that has good reviews. we have started putting dd to bed upstairs about an hour before we go to bed (or that's the idea anyway) so need a reliable one.

Cinnamon hope the scan goes ok. And hope your coil insertion was quick and painless.

Jetpackplease that sounds like a reasonable start with the gaviscon hope it gets better for you.

Shame about the rain FiRaffe. It's lovely here at the moment - shame I have no summery clothes that fit...!

cinnamongreyhound · 05/06/2015 16:18

Was pretty much pain free PenguinPoser, I seem to be lucky with them I have a couple of friends who really weren't good with coil fittings. Bleeding a bit now. Scan was quick! Went in on time and we're back at the car 20mins later! He did the scan with no concern for the crying baby who really didn't want to be on his tummy and then said he would write his report and send it to Sam's Dr. So no idea if it was good or bad news! Sorry to hear about your pants day, hope it has improved! Why do explosive poos always happen at the worst possible time?

Hope jabs go well MoominMama22, Sam has his next week and a blood test the next day, bless him!! Hope your bruises improve soon, I mostly change Sam on my lap or sofa Blush

Wineandchoccy · 05/06/2015 21:27

Hope your aches and pains ease soon moomin

I hope Sams results are ok cinnamon

penguin I hope you have a better day tomorrow

I have been for a really long walk today with dd in the pram she was asleep when i got back so I left her in the pram in the hallway and I fell asleep on the sofa for 2 hours I couldn't work out where the crying was coming from when she woke.

FiRaffe · 05/06/2015 22:27

Hope you've had a good day ladies.... well Penguin I hope it's improved.

Had a lively day painting pottery for the grandparents and father's day. We had a lovely lunch too.

Hope that we will have a good night... been screamy so far!

cinnamongreyhound · 06/06/2015 02:25

Sounds like two good days wineandchoccy anD FiRaffe!

I obviously told too many people he's settled in to waking at 4/4.30 yesterday as we're up now! That's only 4 hrs for first stint. Wonder if it's clothes as his arms feel cold, he's in short sleeves?

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 06/06/2015 03:02

Painting pottery sounds lovey. Was considering a trip to the local ceramics cafe for a similar reason! Our long walk at a local wildlife park didn't end so relaxed yesterday due gto a swarm of bees!

Similar thing with wake ups too cinnamon. She's been happily doing 11/11:30 - 4/4:30 with a couple of blips for a few weeks now but tonight here we are with a 2:45... Sad Would be when we have a really manic day tomorrow. Plus she's fed for 10 mins and back to sleep so I bet Wi have a 5am feed too!

kismac · 06/06/2015 04:35

Eek, Moomin! Hope you are ok and recovery is quick.

Fingers crossed the scan results are good Cinnamon.

Wish we had a pottery centre near us. Sounds like a lovely idea.

We managed to get a 6 hour and 4 hour stint few days ago but it was a fluke and we're only managing a 5 hour and 2 hour now. Got too cocky.

Going to see Spamalot a theatre tomorrow and then church and farmers market on Sunday. Hope everyone else has some nice plans.

cinnamongreyhound · 06/06/2015 07:48

Eeek bees LitteGreyCatWithapinkcollar! He had a decent feed but is always up at 5.30 when on his back no idea why he won't sleep from then on so had a very short feed then and he slept on his tummy until 10mims ago. So I had 3,3 and 2 hrs shouldn't complain I guess! (His first on was 4 but I didn't go to sleep straight away).

FiRaffe · 06/06/2015 09:10

Oh no with the bees littlegrey! I would have been terrified.

Have a Google kismac, there might be one not too far away you don't know about. We were in Farnham, about half an hour from where we live, and definitely worth the trip. Booked a table for the Surrey get together too

Sleep had been predictable here too, but last night we were on 3 rather than 4 hours and I think our swaddling time has ended.

I have always put DS down with his feet at the end of the cot (or at least where they would be if his legs were stretched out), but the last two nights i've woken to him having wriggled down and the blanket over his nose (must have moved a good couple of inches as I put it over his chest to tuck in not his shoulders). Has anyone else had this or any tips?

Also as we know he'll do this are there skinny baby sleeping bags or any suggestions on that front?

kismac · 06/06/2015 09:25

Fi, we tuck part of the blanket under the mattress so that might be worth a try. She does kick much though. She likes to box in her sleep instead. All I can see over carry cot is little arms waving about. It's very cute.

PenguinPoser · 06/06/2015 20:46

I wouldn't have appreciated the bees either littlegreycat! We found the beginnings of a wasps nest in our shed yesterday Shock so that's now gone. Will have to keep an eye on it.

Kismac hope you enjoyed the theatre. And cinnamon pleased your coil fit was painless!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I'm just attempting bedtime with dd. after last nights failing and not getting her to bed until after 11 she did sleep until after 7 which was fairly epic. Then was clearly still tired as she napped 11-2. We've been out this afternoon shopping and visiting MIL who had got dd some nice summery clothes which was kind. I had been complaining to DH that I missed having afternoon tea (not that I do it often!) so we stopped for supplies and made our own at home Smile was yummy! Tomorrow going to my grans for Sunday lunch.

PenguinPoser · 06/06/2015 20:47

And we are attempting the snuzpod again tonight.... She's never actually slept in it yet!

cinnamongreyhound · 06/06/2015 20:54

We went swimming for the first time today, I started getting stressed on the way as instead of sleeping in the car he screamed all the way there and getting changed. I had to feed him to calm him down and he went straight to sleep! I sat with him in spectators area for 20mins that dh took over and I swam with the big boys. We then moved pools (there are three) and he woke so we put him in the water, he startled to start with but then was clearly enjoying it. It was the fun pool and got very splashy so we moved to baby pool and he loved it. In total he was in for 20mins before he started grizzling and needed a feed, left boys in the pool and then we all went to get dressed. So pleased it went well and looking forward to the next time Grin

Your afternoon tea sounds lovely PenguinPoser and good luck with bedtime!

Not had that and no idea sorry FiRaffe!

kismac · 06/06/2015 21:17

Penguin, that's an awesome sleep! Ooh and afternoon tea. Im very jealous!

That sounds like a lovely day Cinnamon. I've looked into swimming lessons but they don't start until mid August so may attempt it on my own soon.

Theatre was great. Wee greedy bum took 5oz of expressed milk even though I'd just fed her before we left. In fairness she had just had a big nap so probably wasn't as full a feed but even still we were only gone 3 hours!

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 06/06/2015 22:41

Swimming sounds fun! DD's swim suit is a 3-6 months one and basically when she fits it I'll take her I think.

We're having our first night away from home tonight! it's my mum's birthday but as she's a twin and her sis lives next door to my nan we're at hers. Travel cot has its first outing, with some carefully places rolled blankets under the sheet so hopefully she'll sleep in it. Getting worried about after her night feed though as she's never gone down in her crib after it yet but there's no way we can Co sleep in this single bed, not only because of the size but it's an old fashioned sprung bed rather than mattress so no where near firm enough. It was old when my mum had it as a child! so we may well be on the floor together on top of all the sheets and blankets come morning!! DD is in her sleeping bag so I'm sure she'll be fine!

cinnamongreyhound · 06/06/2015 23:11

Yes Sam's is too, they didn't have any smaller ones it was a tad big! We took ds1 at 5 weeks but because ds2 was born in September we left it much later due to cold when we came out. Both love the water now but have had no formal lessons, ds1 can swim a width but is too lazy to try anything more! Ds2 zooms around but with armbands. I've seen some amazing toddlers jumping in swimming about without anything and I think it's great but I'm just glad mine aren't afraid and the rest will come eventually!

cinnamongreyhound · 06/06/2015 23:12

And good luck with your night away!

FiRaffe · 07/06/2015 08:11

Cinnamon the swimming sounds great. I need to be brave and take DS one day but i'm so nervous about my body I don't know how that would go. On another point, how do you deal with leaky boobs while in a costume or just don't worry about it?

Hope the night went okay littlegrey. We're going away in august to visit my parents so will be interesting to see how he gets in with the travel cot too.

Kismac, great you got to go out. I haven't been away from DS really yet for more than a few mind getting checked by the doctors when he was small. He was with DH downstairs in the hospital! I'm off to the dentist tomorrow morning and he is staying with my best friends. Hopefully he'll be okay with a bottle of expressed milk for a little while. We might go out for dinner in a couple of weeks when my parents are visiting but not sure yet!

kismac · 07/06/2015 09:04

Hope you had a nice time away LittleGreyCat.

We got 5 hours and then 3 hours stretch. Yay! This seems to be quite consistently happening. Feeling really chuffed!

Off to church today and then for wee drive by the loch. Hope the weather stays nice.

DH went out for a jog this morning. Feeling a bit jealous of his exercise even though I hate jogging! Yup, crazy hormones alert!

kismac · 07/06/2015 09:07

Fi, I felt really relaxed about going out but think that's because we've only even gone somewhere local so could be home in 10 min if needed. I obviously missed her but it was nice to just be the two of us. This is now the second time we've been out and she's only 5 weeks old. Im quite lucky that my mum is a retired health visitor so could handle anything really.

cinnamongreyhound · 07/06/2015 10:26

I was worried with the first feed FiRaffe that the one he wasn't feeding from would leak but I guess because it was squashed up it didn't at all. You can't think like that about your body, mine is awful but I don't want my boys to worry abo their bodies so I only show them me being happy with who I am. I wear a tankini so I can wee easily and not shown my belly Wink. I've only left Sam to go and run and feed him before I go and hope for the best, always with dh no one else and it's easier every time. I try to enjoy my time with my friends and not think too much about whether he's been ok! Sometimes I come back and he's fast asleep others he's crying and I feel awful but dh knows what he's doing and there's milk if he needs it. Plus he does cry when he's with me if I'm sorting other kids and he survives that.

Been out with my canicross club this morning for the first time since he was born and they've bought him some vests and had the logo added. Laid one on him when i got in and took a photo as they're 3-6 so far too big at the moment!

Yay for your sleep kismac! Enjoy the loch

PenguinPoser · 07/06/2015 18:24

Aw Fi don't feel bad about your body - it's made your amazing baby! I find at water babies everyone is in the same situation of recently having a baby so it makes me feel better. I haven't had to feed in my tankini but I figure it's meant to get wet anyway Wink

Pleased you enjoyed the theatre kismac!

I feel quite relaxed about going out too as long as it's just for a couple of hours. I totally trust DH with DD like when I went to get my hair cut. I'm really worried about this hen do I'm going to in a few weeks though. I'm not staying away but will be out from early morning to evening time Sad I do want to go and basically the plans have been made around me so I can go (venue moved closer to me etc but still over 2 hours away). I have enough milk in the freezer already to cover the day but I just really worry incase dd needs the comfort of boob while I'm away. It's hard as my friends don't really understand. Obv I'll have to express while I'm away from her as well.

Hope your night away went well littlegreycat!

FiRaffe · 07/06/2015 20:51

Thanks ladies, you are so kind and a great support.

Had a lovely lunch at a good friend's. DS cried a lot but they didn't seem to mind, even if I fektva bit conscious about it. My friend even offered to babysit when we're ready to have a night out which was kind.

Hope you've all had a good day

kismac · 08/06/2015 04:03

Aww Penguin, I know how you feel. It's my friend's 30th in September and she wants us to go away for the weekend and is now trying to get me to commit to it but I've said I'll need to wait until nearer the time to see how I feel . Plus I'll need a massive amount of milk expressed which will take me couple weeks/months to build up. I can't wait for my friends to start having babies so they understand more.

Fi, glad you had a nice day and oh exciting you've got babysitting offer. Ha ha.

Wineandchoccy · 08/06/2015 04:11

Ow ow ow I've just stubbed my toe on DD's crib on my way to change her so had to dance across the landing in pain before I could put her down.

1st feed of the night she has slept since 9.45pm so ive had a good stretch of sleep. We are going to bumps & babies class this afternoon making Father's Day cards although I'm guessing at 8 weeks old dd won't be helping much Grin
