Wineandchoccy · 31/05/2015 03:33

Hope you feel better soon cinnamon

Sorry you didn't get to enjoy your pizza kismac

I had a bit of a bad evening yesterday dd cluster fed I was starving and absolutely knackered and whilst I was feeding dd I burst into tears I think DH thought something was seriously wrong but I couldn't explain what was wrong which was making me cry more. I think I did to much yesterday and dd had chomped at my boobs for ages and I was sore and it felt like only me could calm dd down but I just wanted a 10 min break Sad DH says I need to let him help but unless he can grow a pair of boobs he can't do much.
I have had a few hours sleep now and feeling better. DH is going to take dd for a walk in the morning so I can catch up on my sleep.

Sorry for the moan Blush

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 31/05/2015 03:52

Awww wine, it's tough isn't it? such a feeling of dependence, if he disappearedthe baby would manage but without you, they couldn't. That's how it feels to me anyway.

We seem to be regressing in the sleep stakes. Gone from sleeping in 4-6 hour stretches to 2-3 Sad . So tired!!

cinnamongreyhound · 31/05/2015 04:50

Let him take her wineabdchoccy, he can walk around soothing her for a bit. We've had nearly a week now of constant evening feeding and just give him to dh for 10mins when I've had enough. He pats him, jiggles him, talks to him etc until I feel ready to go again. Especially yesterday, I was passing him over for a bit. It won't do any harm especially for me asc convinced he's not hungry just wants to sleep and that's how he settles.

Slept 10-4.30 and I feel better I think! Headache is gone thankfully and I don't feel nauseous.

FiRaffe · 31/05/2015 06:06

Oh yes Wine, it is do tough. We've added an expressed milk bottle in that DH does at some point between 10pm & 2am which at least allows me some sleep.

Take the offer and if you can walk far enough away that you can't really hear any crying do! I usually make the most of having a shower or bath by putting the radio on then I get some time to myself. If there is a major problem DH can always come and get me.

PenguinPoser · 31/05/2015 08:07

Cinnamon sorry you were poorly but glad you're feeling better this morning!

Kismac I get cabin fever too and sympathise! It's hard being alone with baby all day then DH coming home and maybe not wanting to go out or do something.

Wineandchoccy it sounds like we are all having difficult evenings... Dd still feeds more then than at any other time in the day and she's been getting overtired not napping so I've been having to repeatedly feed to comfort her. Was at DHs friends for a BBQ last night and she wanted to feed all evening. Thankfully the couple have had a baby themselves who was bf so they understood!

DD has been asleep since 11.30pm!!!!!!!!! My back hurts for some reason I think I might have been lying funny to avoid lying on painful full boobs Hmm need her to wake up and feed!

cinnamongreyhound · 31/05/2015 08:28

Wow great sleep penguinPoser! Sam is just up now but we had a feed at 4.45, I'm happy with that though! Dh will be asking me later why I'm so tired when I've had a good night Wink wish one good night made up for the last 7 weeks I really do!

PenguinPoser · 31/05/2015 08:47

That's the thing isn't it cinnamon - I think it would take a month of good nights to make up for it all!

cinnamongreyhound · 31/05/2015 09:40

Indeed! On the plus side (and I really don't want to jinx myself!) he's already sleeping better than ds2 did at 6 months, no wonder I was so blimmin miserable!!!

ChickenMe · 31/05/2015 11:50

Ah I should come on here more often to see that I am normal-DD was starving all day yesterday. We went out to the shops with mil and DD constantly wanted boob and was never satisfied. Then last night she was wide awake, like on red bull, and wouldn't settle. But was sucking, pulling off, sucking and shouting at me. OH had to take her cos I was nearly in tears with the tiredness.

BrixtonBunny · 31/05/2015 11:50

Noticed I've totally dropped off this thread due to the Facebook group! Oops. Marking my place again.

All is well here - had a birthday do at ours yesterday with 18 people which went well, I was delighted that we can still host with a baby! I must admit most of the food was bought, though I did make two batches of cakes. I even had my first drink since giving birth - a small glass of pimms. DD was amazing all day, I think it tired her out as she only woke up once last night between 22:30 and 8:30! She's seven weeks today, god time goes fast.

I can't remember if there is anyone who is on this thread but not on Facebook and who lives in London - smogs I think? - but we're having a London get together on the 10th, if anyone wants to join message me.

Going to read back now!

Wineandchoccy · 31/05/2015 12:52

I am feeling much better after a few hours extra sleep, thanks for letting me have a very self indulgent moan earlier Flowers

We were going to go out for a pub lunch because it's our wedding anniversary today but instead DH has been to M & S food and got loads of lovely picnic food which he has sorted and we are going to go for a drive to a local nature reserve and push dd around in her pram.

Hello chicken and brixton I am not on the facebook group but hope your DD's are ok.

I am nowhere London but enjoy your meet up Smile

cinnamongreyhound · 31/05/2015 14:03

Sounds lovely wineandchoccy, it's been pouring down here all day! Indulgent picnic food is lovely and much more relaxed than a pub.

After being woken up several times I've taken Sam for a walk in the sling. He fought sleep for most of the walk and fell asleep in the last minute!!! Now not sure whether to attempt to take him out or sit with him strapped to me Confused

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 31/05/2015 15:02

Happy anniversary wine. Picnic sounds lovey.

I'd stay strapped in cinnamon, but then I had DD strapped to me while I cooked and ate roast beef with the in laws today and actually had to wake her up to feed after 4 hours. This hasn't happened before in the 6 weeks she's been here!!!

smogsville · 31/05/2015 16:59

Glad you're feeling better cinnamon. I'd say keep him strapped to you and sit down!

Kismac don't overdo it at four weeks but you should defo be able to push a buggy. If you have to lift it (downstairs?), focus on using your arms rather than your core. I've had the odd twinge when walking fast or running to get somewhere on time but would consider myself recovered now. I'm not going to start running until three months though just to be on safe side.

Go on then Brixton how do I join the FB group? Glad you're getting some good sleeps out of your LO.

Hope the anniversary picnic went well Wine, sounds like a lovely idea.

Anyone else in traffic on the sodding m25?!

cinnamongreyhound · 31/05/2015 17:06

We decided to go out in the end, popped to sanisburys and then all went for a long dog walk along the river somewhere new. Apart from the car he was in the sling and slept until we got home, so 2.5hrs. Hoping he'll be happier when he finished this feed!

You need to pm someone your name, they can then friend request you, add you to the secret group and then unfriend smogsville.

smogsville · 31/05/2015 17:16

Thanks cinnamon.

Brixton I will attempt this feat now!

FiRaffe · 31/05/2015 18:19

Hope you've had a nice day ladies.

Been out with our nct group and it was nice to catch up. Now home and our tap water tastes weird.... just what we need!

Has anyone found themselves feeling more bloated since baby? I feel really fat and rubbish but in a gassy way. Never really had this before

BrixtonBunny · 31/05/2015 18:42

Smogs I've sent you a friend request.

Fi not bloated as such but deffo still feeling v v wobbly and fat Hmm Ah well, DD is more than worth it!

smogsville · 31/05/2015 19:32

Thanks Brixton, have accepted!

PenguinPoser · 31/05/2015 19:36

Nice to see some folks back on the threadGrin

Happy anniversary Wineandchoccy! How was your picnic? I love picnics food tastes better outdoors!

Glad you got out for a walk cinnamon and you're feeling better. And that DS had a nap! I'm having major difficulty recently trying to get dd napping during the day. She's too nosy! But if she's sleeping better at night I'm willing to accept.

Hope to see you in the FB group soon smogs Smile

cinnamongreyhound · 31/05/2015 21:22

He seems to have a less restless evening if he's slept better in the day, so it's for my own selfish reasons!

I can't remember if I posted here or not but our snake who we thought was a boy laid a clutch of eggs last week. Today the end of her tail looked a bit odd, when I opened it and looked it she was dead Sad she still looked healthy and was moving around fine so no idea what happened. I don't think dss will be too upset when he comes tomorrow. Ds1&2 weren't bothered at all which is good, we had lots of tears when our cat died a while ago.

kismac · 31/05/2015 21:55

Your day sounds lovely Wine. Hope you had a good time.

Glad you seem to be feeling better Cinnamon.

Yeah, Fi. My stomach has been really uncomfortable. Lots of painful wind which is annoying as Im eating well and drinking loads.

Smog, we're a ground floor flat but there's about 8 steps to get down to the pavement. My dad is coming to visit on Thursday so planning on asking him to take me out for a bit.

Welcome back Brixton.

Wineandchoccy · 31/05/2015 23:13

I have had a lovely day what a difference a bit of extra sleep does. Picnic was lovely, dd slept all the way during the walk then we went to Argos and bought her a play gym. DH made me laugh when he said normally for our anniversary we would be getting dressed up to have a meal out instead we were in waterproofs, wellies and sat on a picnic bench!

I have got a sore nipple again so I'm going to go to the bf support group tomorrow for some advice. It's always my right side that hurts I'm not sure it's whether I hold her different but I'm dreading feeding from that side because it's sore. I've got nipple shields from Boots but they don't seem to stay on and then milk leaks out.
Does anybody use any good ones that they can recommend?

Jetpackplease · 31/05/2015 23:53

Happy anniversary wine! Sorry, can't advise re shields. I have some medela ones that I've never used.

Brixton I'm in London but not on FB group - perhaps I can friend request you to join?

It's still v tough here on the sleep front: rarely more than 2 - 2.5 hour stretches at night. Occasional 3 hour stretch, but that's rare (and still not enough!). During the day he only naps for longer than about half an hour if he's on someone, so I can't nap unless DH is here. I'm losing my mind. He's 6 weeks today - hoping we are due some improvement Sad

Hope everyone has a good night ahead. About to put DS down as he's asleep finally, and presume I'll be back up around 2...

Jetpackplease · 01/06/2015 02:04

Yep Sad
