Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Wineandchoccy · 26/05/2015 22:12

I have got a dead arm, dd has fed for ages and then fell asleep on me. I have just put her in the crib so here's hoping for a good nights sleep.

It is the Aldi baby event on Thursday if anybody needs anything the leaflet is on the Aldi website showing the offers.

I hope everybody has a good night.

cinnamongreyhound · 26/05/2015 22:13

Sam's just gone properly off after being on and off since about 8. He's getting less and less spots, yay!

FiRaffe · 26/05/2015 22:16

Thanks for your support ladies.

Fingers crossed she goes down for you Penguin. I should probably grab DS's swaddle to warm up.

We've just used our bottle warmer that arrived today for the first time and it was a success. Worth the money for the tomee tippee starter kit I think!

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 26/05/2015 23:40

Hope you feel better soon Fi.

and hope good nights are in store for all of us. DD began a feed at 9. Still going. tired!!!

kismac · 27/05/2015 05:02

Fi, hope things settle down. I loved my nipple shields so worth a try.

Hope everyone's night has been good. Back to 3 hours stretches so not too bad.

Getting wee bit stressed that might need to start my neuro medication again soon as Im getting really uncomfortable. Feel quite gutted as would mean I'd need to stop breastfeeding. Really hoping to try and manage 3 months.

Wineandchoccy · 27/05/2015 05:13

I hope that everyone's had/having a good night dd has woke 3 hourly but as settled quickly in her crib so it's been ok.

Nothing planned for today either so can have a rest later when she has a sleep if I am tired. I'm hungry, night feeds make me feel starving.

FiRaffe · 27/05/2015 06:02

Hope you are ok kismac. Even if you need to start your mess again you have given your lo a great start.

Just had an hour feed....not what I usually want in the middle of the night but it's weigh in day today so an extra full baby is handy. Got to hope he's back towards his centile otherwise might have to add formula which I don't really want to do.

cinnamongreyhound · 27/05/2015 08:10

You have to do what's right for both of you kismac, can't remember birth date so not sure how far off 3 months you are but still a good way towards it.

Good luck with your weigh in FiRaffe. Ours is Thursday but don't think I'll go this week, I have my three plus 3 minded children so we will kind of take over the clinic and I don't think he desperately needs weekly weigh ins.

Good news wineandchoccy, I had a good night with that too. Some nights its can take 1.5hrs to get Sam back to sleep but last night it was only half an hour and second wake up he only had one side and was back down in 15mins Shock

PenguinPoser · 27/05/2015 08:42

Aw Kismac you need to do what's best for you so you can be the best you can for baby. So don't feel bad if you need to go on your meds. Discuss with your doctor if it's a definite no for bf as sometimes it isn't depending on the medication.

Fingers crossed for the weigh in FiRaffe! I'm getting dd weighed this morning too when I go to bf group. I'm hoping for over 9lb!

Going to the coast later with a couple of friends from work and for lunch in a cafe Smile

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 27/05/2015 08:55

Must be weigh in day. Fingers crossed for good results! We're off to clinic this morning. DD has been on the boob for an hour already and still going so that'll help.

kismac · 27/05/2015 09:10

Good luck for the weigh ins today.

Leah will be 4 weeks on Friday, so still very new. Ha Ha. Just tried biological feeding position. It's really nice. Think I might try this more for night time feeds.

I've got my mum coming to visit today. Rest of week is busy for visitors too. I've got a friend coming tomorrow morning then my dad and auntie in the afternoon and then 2 work friends coming on Friday. I hope Leah is on good form.

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 27/05/2015 10:31

Sounds like a good week kismac!

Back from clinic. 12oz gain this week!! Plodding nicely along on 50th line! Yay! Grin

FiRaffe · 27/05/2015 10:38

Great news littlegrey! We're just sitting waiting! DS fed before we left again do hopefully it'll add a couple of grams!!!

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 27/05/2015 10:41

Good plan FiRaffe. Fingers crossed for you!

FiRaffe · 27/05/2015 14:44

10oz this week, up to 7lb 9 now so really pleased. The hv hadn't any suggestions on dealing with the Reynaud's though....not very helpful!

PenguinPoser · 27/05/2015 16:47

Wow excellent weight gains Smile had some here too and dd is 9lb exactly so following the 2nd centile which is fine.

FiR

PenguinPoser · 27/05/2015 16:52

Oops hit post by accident...

FiRaffe have a look at
www.raynauds.org/2011/02/08/help-for-pregnant-breastfeeding-moms/
And
kellymom.com/bf/concerns/mother/nipple-blanching/

It sounds like - if raynauds/vasospasm is the problem - then checking latch again etc is important but if you don't get any better try seeing doctor again to discuss if it's worth trying medication for it. Sounds horrible for you Sad

cinnamongreyhound · 27/05/2015 18:34

So pleased that you can relax a bit over weight gain FiRaffe and well done on everyone else's weight gain! I don't have to worry really as Sam is just above the 50th centile but he's so much smaller than my big boys were at this age it's hard to readjust! I do think it's lovely having them small for a bit longer though Wink

kismac · 27/05/2015 20:05

Well done on the weight gains.

Had my first poo explosion. Very exciting. Had to have full outfit change. She seems so much happier after it too.

My mum came to visit and was annoyed that the house was in order and she didn't get to do any dishes or washing . Eh, sorry Im coping.

PenguinPoser · 27/05/2015 20:12

Hehe kismac the poo explosions get old after a while Wink we had one today in the cafe when having lunch that required a full outfit change in the toilets and bringing clothes home in a nappy bag. We have since upgraded to size 2 nappies Grin
And maybe next time you know your mum is coming don't do any housework beforehand Grin my mum saw we had loads of washing so took it all last week Blush now I'm sleeping in ironed clean bedding for the first time in 5 years!

PenguinPoser · 27/05/2015 20:12

Hmm just re read that - I do have clean bed sheets regularly just not ironed!

smogsville · 27/05/2015 20:34

Ah Penguin mums are hilarious with their ironed bedsheets aren't they.

Good weight gain work ladies. I haven't had DS weighed for a good few weeks so should really take him on Monday although the 6-8 wk check is booked for 17th June so entirely possible that I might not get there beforehand.

Spending this week at my parents' as its half term so DD's nursery is on hols. Vaguely missing DH but it's so nice to have loads of extra willing hands and also not being in my own house means no boring domestic jobs to be getting on with all the time.

Wineandchoccy · 27/05/2015 23:40

Well done on the great weight gains, I am taking dd to be weighed tomorrow afternoon. We have done nothing today except feed and have cuddles together so I hope all our hard work pays off, I'm glad it's not me being weighed though because I have eaten rubbish all day Blush

Dd only just gone down I hope I get a few hours sleep before the next feed, just had to change my bra and nightie because she was sick on me, my washing machine is certainly being well used at the moment.

FiRaffe · 28/05/2015 06:42

I agree about not being weighed Wine. I definitely haven't lost much baby weight other than the baby!!!

Thanks for the articles Penguin. I'm going to our breastfeeding café on Monday which can't come soon enough. Hopefully we can sort his latch if there is a problem. I think he initially latches okay, but then starts fidgeting with wind which may be the problem!

Ah yes poosplotions always at an inopportune moment! We had one that seeped through DS's clothes and onto DH's jeans while we were out with his family. Cue run home before lunch!!!

Has anyone's lo got a cough? It's not productive but does sound quite deep in his chest. Asthma runs in our family so I hope he hasn't got it, or at least it waits to show!

cinnamongreyhound · 28/05/2015 07:44

Quiet last night does that mean we all had good nights? The last two nights I have managed to feed, change, feed and have him back down in 30mins rather than the up to 1.5hrs it's taken in the past. Hoping this is a continuing trend! Ds2 was up at 1.30 and had to stop dh telling him off, he seems to forget that he's still only 4 and he's always woken up some nights for a chat/drink/cuddle and I can't get cross with him just because someone else is now waking us up as well!
