kismac · 22/05/2015 10:01

He he, Yup Wine that's exactly it. I used to sit in the same office as the Childsmile team so half expect to bump into someone I know.

Visit went well. Leah is a wee chub. She's now 8lb 13 at 3 weeks and is following the 50th percentile line. So happy.

cinnamongreyhound · 22/05/2015 12:01

Yay! Sodium levels stable so we get two weeks away from the hospital! Back on the 5th for ultrasound of his spine to apparently check there isn't something wrong neurologically with his bladder. Full bloods again 12th and specialist 18th then we wait for 3 month appointments. Blood test from two Saturday's ago still aren't back!!

cinnamongreyhound · 22/05/2015 12:02

And well done on weight gain kismac!

FiRaffe · 22/05/2015 13:25

Great news cinnamon.

DS seems to be on a crazy feed again. My boobs are still killing though. Will bring it up at my 6 week appointment this afternoon.

Wineandchoccy · 22/05/2015 14:14

Fantastic news that you get a break from the hospital cinnamon and glad you and DH have made up.

It's grim weather today but I am going to put dd in her pram and go for a walk because she doesn't want to settle so hopefully she falls asleep in the pram.

Has anybody got anything nice planned for the bank holiday weekend? It's weird when you are already off on mat leave as I had forgotten it was BH until DH mentioned it yesterday.
We are going to see BIL & SIL and 2 nieces at their static caravan on Sunday for a walk and a pub lunch and Monday we are hoping to to finish the garden off which we started before dd was born so fingers crossed the weather improves.

FiRaffe · 22/05/2015 14:45

We're staying at home and doing not a lot I hope. I am struggling with a baby who screams if he isn't attached to my breast... just what I need today.

cinnamongreyhound · 22/05/2015 15:32

We are taking the boys swimming at some point. Going to the great greyhound extravaganza Sunday for a couple of hours before we go to my mums for the rest of Sunday as its her birthday and dh is cooking everyone a bbq.

kismac · 22/05/2015 16:46

Great news Cinnamon.

DH birthday tomorrow so we are going out for dinner and my mum is going to watch Leah. Restaurant is only 15 min walk away and table is booked for 5.30pm, so won't be a late night. Must attempt to make a cake at some point.

smogsville · 22/05/2015 17:58

Excellent news cinnamon and kismac. That childsmile thing sounds like a fab idea.

Have had a v successful day of ticking jobs off my list so feeling quite smug ahead of half term!

cinnamongreyhound · 22/05/2015 19:07

Just looked back and Sam has gained 1lb 4 since last Thursday Shock

kismac · 22/05/2015 20:49

Glad you've had a productive day, Smog.

Ooh, that's fantastic weight gain. It's crazy seeing them getting so chubby.

smogsville · 22/05/2015 21:21

Nice one cinnamon.

I don't know how much DS weighs but my shoulders and neck are killing me, I am slightly dreading all the carrying in between now and him walking properly. Are there any exercises that specifically strengthen these areas?! Remember it from last time and it was a killer then too.

smogsville · 22/05/2015 21:23

Oh and thanks kismac! Feels good to kill a to-do list doesn't it. Although inevitably now a new swathe of jobs has emerged. Also DH is asking for my opinion on hire cars. I don't have one except is it the right size and make sure not too expensive. Yawn!

PenguinPoser · 23/05/2015 04:33

Good news on the bloods and weight gain cinnamon! Smile bit jealous of your BBQ too, haven't had one for ages!

Enjoy your meal out kismac! I had dinner out with friends lady night just locally and left DH in charge with a bottle of expressed milk. He had some good playtime with dd and just managed to get her to bed before I got home. He hadn't had time to eat bless him is it bad I was secretly pleased as it shows him why I don't get everything done during the day!

Not sure what our plans are this weekend. DH working this morning then off the rest of weekend but we haven't planned anything in particular. Need to get out for some walks I need the exercise!

cinnamongreyhound · 23/05/2015 05:05

Ds3 had his first bottle yesterday evening, just to try not because I was going anywhere. Dss started it which was lovely but I missed and my mum finished. He had 3oz and then a huge feed from me! Looks like I'm going to need to express a lot more if I want to actually leave him!

FiRaffe · 23/05/2015 06:25

That's good cinnamon. DS took 3 bottles last night. .... We managed to work out that although you can give them expressed milk from the fridge or at room temp our fussy little boy will only take it at body temp.

So glad he's taking a bottle though as it means he is less rough when feeding from me after and my poor boobs might be able to heal.

Great news on the weight cinnamon and the to-do list smogs. Hope you enjoyed your meal Penguin and yes it's good to show then what it's like when the men are at work!

smogsville · 23/05/2015 07:08

Penguin - exactly. It's the only way they understand. On the rare occasions DH has stayed home with DD (not when she was a baby either) I have always come home to a happy daughter, an exhausted DH and a v messy house as he hasn't been able to tidy up as he goes along. Hope your evening out went well.

Feeling a bit Blush as DS went to sleep around 10, last feed around 930 and we only woke up to feed him at 415. DH says we woke up at around 3 to some grumblings but I dont remember and we obviously just went back to sleep. That's quite a long time for a 5week old to go up a feed isn't it.

smogsville · 23/05/2015 07:08

*without a feed

FiRaffe · 23/05/2015 09:59

I wouldn't worry... he'll eat to catch up and if he had been properly hungry he would have let you know!!!

Feeling really positive this morning about adding in the ebm bottles. DS has taken 3 so far and hurt me do much less after.

Hope you all have a lovely day

cinnamongreyhound · 23/05/2015 11:36

That's fine smogsville! As FiRaffe says you'll probably find he'll make up for it this morning. Sam has been going from 10/10.30-4/4.30 several nights in the last week if so and he's 6 weeks Smile

Sam's bottle yesterday was room temp FiRaffe which is handy. My eldest two were not so helpful and had to have then warmed!

Wineandchoccy · 23/05/2015 11:48

smogs my 6 week dd has been going from 11pm - 5.30 for the past few nights but cluster feeding in the evening so I presume because she has a full tummy she is sleeping longer. I wouldn't worry as Firaffe and cinnamon says he would have woke you if he was hungry.

she has started smiling in the past few days how amazing is it when you get that 1st gummy smile it makes the 9 months of pregnancy, long labour and sleepless nights so worth it Grin

brummagem · 23/05/2015 15:39

Great news on weight gains and bloods all round! Some magic milk available! Can't wait for DS to do longer sleeps. I go to bed about 9-10pm then DH takes over DS has 2 formula bottle feeds about 10pm and 2am approx 90ml each then I pick up unsettledness from there on.

Glad you got everything sorted cinnamon. I keep snapping at DH esp at night as virtually dead on feet feels borderline delirious! I keep apologising each morning
Sad

DS is 3 weeks tomorrow! Can't wait for the smiles Wine. They must be magic.

I've borrowed a Medela (or whatever) breast pump and did manage to express 20ml in 10 mins but the bottles I have don't fit it. As the pump and bits are sterilised would I be ok to pour the expressed milk into one of my sterilised philips bottles? Can I then top up the philips bottle with more milk as I express it? I've got visions of about 100 20ml bottles in the fridge Grin

Hope you're all having good weekends x

cinnamongreyhound · 23/05/2015 18:11

Yes you can do brummagem, they recommend that milk is the same temp before mixing but I have to admit I have pumped directly into fridge cooled milk.

I'm loving my smiles too wineandchoccy!

I have put ds3 in his storm trooper sleepsuits today, the boys were very excited but I think it will go away again for a few weeks as its a bit big still!

FiRaffe · 23/05/2015 19:32

Hehe love the idea of a stormtrooper suit cinnamon!

i'm feeling pretty rough today, hope I feel better as it will make the night that much longer. Haven't been able to express much milk today, I hope my supply hasn't slowed down as DS feels more demanding than ever!

cinnamongreyhound · 23/05/2015 21:27

Are you ill FiRaffe or just tired?

I shouldn't moan about sleep as Sam is going until 4/4.30 from bedtime at the moment but he's up for an hour or hour and a half and then wakes about half an hour later so I'm essentially up from 4/4.30 until bedtime. He's been sleeping on his tummy during the day when I'm around but won't do it at night, this morning I put him back to bed at 5.30 so I fed him and put him back to bed on his tummy from 6 and he slept until 8 (when I took him out to parkrun in the sling). I worry about it but I would also like him to stay asleep after his feed in the early hours so I can catch a few more zzzz's, anyone have any thoughts?
