Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
FiRaffe · 18/05/2015 19:30

That's a great idea cinnamon... will definitely stick that on the list once he can hold his head up!

Sorry to hear napping problems. DS likes his sleep, but we have issues when he wakes up! He screams as if we haven't reacted to him most of the time which is really tough. Thankfully that is mainly during the day and in the evening he does enough cues to wake me up....although i'm usually not fast enough for him!!

Lauren82000 · 19/05/2015 02:03

Wow that was a huge sleep for the first stretch. 10.30-2! I'm amazed we normally wake up at 12 & I'd be on second feed by this point not first. Let's see what the rest of the night is like. I could be up for the duration now. Smile

cinnamongreyhound · 19/05/2015 03:50

Excellent news Lauren82000, they should stretch out the older she gets. I'm up for the first time now Shock did fall asleep on the sofa tonight though!

FiRaffe · 19/05/2015 04:31

Great news. I'm wishing I hadn't anticipated DS wanting feeding as I could have had another half hour at least..... he's going to be angry hungry when he wakes up now, he's not eaten in 5 hours!
Ooh the sleepy tongue clicking has started, hopefully i'll be able to move my leg soon, it's starting to go to sleep!

PenguinPoser · 19/05/2015 04:36

Fingers crossed you're back asleep Lauren!

Solo bedtime without DH was a nightmare. DD was so overtired she'd been awake all afternoon and been playing and to water babies. Just wouldn't settle. My mum tried. I tried wearing DHs tshirt... Nope. Had each boob twice. Eventually dozed off just to wake as soon as transferred to pram. She was just lying there so I turned the light off and got into bed about half 11. I assume she went to sleep eventually cos I couldn't stay awake! I hope DH is making the most of his uninterrupted sleep in the hotel!!

Water babies was fun I'm looking forward to going back Smile DD did 2 underwater swims and we did lots of splashing about. The other mums seemed nice too and there are only 6 in a class as the pool is small so hopefully will be a good chance to meet people.

kismac · 19/05/2015 05:12

Ooh, Im thinking of doing Water Babies too.

Glad some of you are getting some nice stretches of sleep. We're feeding every 2.5 hours which is ok. DH wakes me up to feed her as he says she's getting unsettled but I don't hear her so convinced could probably squeeze another 30min out but hey ho.

Made it to Bounce and Rhyme today at 10.30am. DH was with me but I still think it's a win. Planning on visiting my work today. Here's hoping she's not too grumpy.

cinnamongreyhound · 19/05/2015 06:03

I personally would ask your dh not to wake you kismac and just wait until she's properly awake and you hear her. Glad you enjoyed bounce and rhyme, I love all the singing groups Smile. Have a lovely trip to work.

You're very good anticipating a feed FiRaffe! I'm just awake when he wakes me, don't anticipate anything! Although to be fair he never wakes at the same time Amat night. Didn't wake until 3.40 today but didn't go back down until 4.45 and was awake again at 5.50 and seems genuinely hungry!

Water babies always looks good PenguinPoser, glad you enjoyed it. Nothing wrong with baby self settling she couldn't have been disturbed or you'd have heard her Smile

smogsville · 19/05/2015 07:40

I can recommend water babies. DD loves being in the water and since she turned 3 has been going to normal swimming lessons (ie she goes in without me). WB gave her the confidence she needed.

we also wait for DS to wake us! Too fond of our sleep this time around to rouse him for a feed.

kismac I sympathise with the no exercise for three months after a section thing. Quite fancy doing some myself and had forgotten about that damnit. Although I do quite a bit of very brisk walking and the occasional little joglet in pursuit of DD or when we're late for nursery but it's hardly proper exercise. Jealous of cinnamon's runs!

PenguinPoser · 19/05/2015 16:12

I'm jealous of the runs too. Going to get out later this week hopefully for the first time in about a year...

Woohoo DH is on the way back from his course Grin it's been a long night and day alone. But I've survived. And showered!

FiRaffe · 19/05/2015 17:11

Well done Penguin!

DS is still so hot all the time. We were in a comfortable temp room for baby massage and I stripped him to his nappy but by the time we got to the second leg is was thirsty and drank for the next 30mins plus more when we got home. He's only just calmed and cooled now .. not sure what to do!

cinnamongreyhound · 19/05/2015 17:38

Have you got a thermometer FiRaffe? If he has a high temp and you're worried I'd attempt to get him seen by someone. GPs will normally squeeze you in at the end of their surgery if it's a baby.

Good to hear there will be some fellow runners on here soon. I'm on a mn generally running thread but here are some very serious runners on there! Some not so serious too Smile

I'm very tired today! Dh has the car every other Tuesday but I decided to still go to toddler group, it's about a mile and half walk and not worth coming home from school so we normally feed the ducks on the way. With a double buggy and ds3 in sling and sorting out food for all the kids and then dropping ds2 at school I was out 8.30-1 then getting naps sorted (only overlapped by 15 mins today Sad) and back to school at 3, I just want to go to sleep now! Ds3 is asleep on me and I need to do tea. Dh is training in the garage and he did tea and tidied up after it last night as I was at a governors meeting 5.30-8! Got my 6 week check tomorrow as well as ds1's assembly.

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 19/05/2015 18:39

We have weight gain!! Grin and lots of smiles for the (very lovely and extremely helpful) hv. And she's poping back on Thurs to check on me and see how we're getting on. So much more helpful than the last one. And the new clinic is across the road rather than a 3 mile drive!! it's been a good day.

Also registered or details with water babies although she can't start yet but looks good so thanks all for the recommendation!!

FiRaffe · 19/05/2015 19:18

When can they start Little Grey?

kismac · 19/05/2015 20:03

Well done on your solo night, Penguin.

Wow, Cinnamon. That sounds like a hectic day. Hope you manage to fit in a rest at some point.

Yay, for weight gain, LittleGreyCat!

Trip to work went well. She got a bit grumpy but we'd been in for nearly 2 hours so was able to make excuse and leave. Then headed to Dobbies and fed her while eating a sandwich. Getting really good at this multi tasking. Ha ha.

Health visitor tomorrow but other than that think we'll have a sofa day.

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 19/05/2015 21:00

Not sure Fi. Because of the type of pool she needs to be 12lb/12 weeks so depends if she keeps gaining! They are sending stuff through so I'll know more when that arrives!

Got our book pack from the hv too which really excited me! We've already read our books and are planning library trips!! Song and rhyme time on Friday!!

cinnamongreyhound · 20/05/2015 04:38

Argh every time I put him down settled he always needs at least one more resettling 10mins later just to keep me awake that little bit longer, why?!?!?!?!

Wineandchoccy · 20/05/2015 05:04

cinnamon I feel your pain dd does not want to settle after her last feed, she looks like she is asleep then as soon as I get into bed her eyes are wide open again. She has had a good night up to now though so I suppose I shouldn't complain but DH is snoring and I just want a few more hours in bed.
I hope Sam settles soon for you.

cinnamongreyhound · 20/05/2015 07:15

He did thanks wineandchoccy and then slept until now! My alarm goes off at 6.20 so had an extra 1.5hrs Grin. Hope you got some more sleep too!

PenguinPoser · 20/05/2015 08:59

Good news cinnamon!

DD has been very fussy and unsettled last couple of days but I'm hoping that as I'm out and about in the car today she might nap more and be less fussy as a result. Time will tell!

I'm going to bf group this morning. Later have to go do something work related which is annoying (essentially they are changing my employer so I need to produce ID documents CRB check etc). Then going to SILs this afternoon probably.

Littlegreycat hope you get into water babies soon! I got a place at a pool suitable for smaller babies as its heated to 32deg so could start straight away. But guess it depends what pools and places are available in your area. It's definitely good fun Smile and something else to do as well. Oh what's the book pack? I want one! Maybe they don't do that here...

Hope everyone has a good day Cake

Wineandchoccy · 20/05/2015 09:13

cinnamom yeah for the extra sleep.

Eleanor settled at 5.30 and woke at 8.30 she is back in her crib with Ewan the dream sheep playing.

We have no plans for today but the weather is nice so i think we will be going for a walk. There is a new cafe opened in town so i might go and have some bf calories otherwise known as cake Grin

penguin I think the book pack is called bookstart all babies get the pack from the HV before they are one year old.

smogsville · 20/05/2015 10:49

Swimming people - buy a neoprene wet suit to keep them warm in the water. Even in a 32 degree pool. Jojo sells them.

cinnamongreyhound · 20/05/2015 11:02

Had our 6 week check and the Dr said ds3 is thriving! She's not concerned about anything and said even if we have open access to the children's ward we can still call them for advice as they have all his notes copied there. Got an apt to have a coil fitted and she did actually feel my tummy which I don't remember before. Assembly finished at 9.25 so was a mad dash but we made it a kids really good. Just having a cuppa feeding while mindees play before we pick up one and drop off ds2, the hopefully a quiet afternoon!

cinnamongreyhound · 20/05/2015 11:04

I don't know about neoprene but we had to get a suit for ds2 for swimming as he got cold very quickly as smogsville says. I have ordered one for ds3 but we're just going as a family not proper lessons.

smogsville · 20/05/2015 11:35

My DD at 3.5 is still in a wetsuit at her swimming lessons. Most of the other ones her age are in normal cossies but I tried that and she just got freezing really quickly. Don't know why as she's not very skinny or anything. I guess I must grow children who get cold in the water!

Cinnamon that's great news, well done you ??????????!

FiRaffe · 20/05/2015 12:05

Great news cinnamon! So glad for you.
