Great news wineandchoccy!

Glad you got some sleep last night and a nap Lauren82000 Smile

My two always cried at jabs but got over it pretty quick PenguinPoser.

Have one minder sleeping, Sam asleep on me so need to put him down then I can put other little boy down for his nap and I can zone out for a bit! We've been to the park this morning after school run, played trains collected one and dropped ds2 off at school and had lunch. Dh has decided to take tomorrow off to come to the hospital and I will only have before and after schoolers so quietish day. Unfortunately my mum texted earlier that my step dad fell down the stairs last night and she had to call and ambulance. I told her she should have called but she said I had enough to worry about. They've scanned and x-rayed him and he's fine but his face is badly bruised and grazed so I'm going to take the boys round tonight to cheer him up.

brummagem · 13/05/2015 14:13

Oh dear cinnamon hope your SD enjoys his visit and recovers quickly. Flowers

Glad you caught up on sleep lauren hope things are more normal today.

Great news on the tt snip wine

Hope you all have great days! X

FiRaffe · 13/05/2015 16:44

Oh cinnamon, I hope he is okay.

Great news on the tongue tie Wine and the jabs Penguin.

DS has put on 10oz this week and has gone from 4lb 15oz to 6lb 9oz. Really proud!

IvegotaCaveTroll · 13/05/2015 18:24

Go FiRsffe! Well done.

Hope ur SD is ok Cinnamon- facial bruising always looks a lot worse than it is- especially on older people so don't be surprised if he's balck and blue- warn ur kids this will be the case too!

Still so tired ...

brummagem · 13/05/2015 18:29

fir great news on the weight gain that's really substantial! Wow you must be doing something very right!

Know what you mean IvegotaCaveTroll could push some serious zzzzzzzzz!

Any move on joining the fb grp? I know not many post on here anymore and would be lovely to keep up with everyone it's been a massive journey these last few months! :)

brummagem · 13/05/2015 18:34

Don't you just love changing a nappy to 5 mins later hear the dulcet sound of a massive cow fart and follow through of a baby happily filling new nappy. It's like he knows and times it just so Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 13/05/2015 19:15

Well done FiRaffe!

He seems fine now, very sore but otherwise good. They took him in as he didn't know where he was. He had a bad nose bleed but otherwise it's just bruising.

I couldn't friend request you brummagem so I sent you a msg but may be in your other folder so you won't see it from the app daft fb design

Lauren82000 · 13/05/2015 19:34

Brum even better when your out and only took a nappy and wipes to the loo with you only to close new nappy and hear that sound! Confused Happened to me on Sunday.

Glad it's good new cinnamon.

Squatting that is so unfair to not even ask and check you're happy. Make it very clear you aren't!

PenguinPoser · 13/05/2015 21:59

Ah no cinnamon hope he makes a quick recovery!

Well done on weight gain FiRaffe that's some pretty impressive gaining Grin

Brummagem yes totally know what you mean about the nappies! They just wait for us to change them...! If you can't manage to get on Facebook group pm me and I'll try - managed to add someone else by a roundabout method!

Squatting - I would be annoyed by that! My DH is away one night next week with a work course so I'm dreading that and I only have one to contend with!

Well tongue tie snip went ok - was awful to watch but over in 5 seconds and dd is fine now. I did give her a dose of calpol as she's had that plus her injections today. She's fed ok this evening so fingers crossed she's going to be ok! Have to go back to the feeding clinic on Friday.

Squatting I would be pretty pissed off if DH went away unnecessarily when it is such hard work at home. My DH wanted to play sport twice this week and I asked him to go once instead - he was not pleased but I don't have much sympathy when I can't go anywhere without a baby stuck to me for the foreseeable.

Penguin glad the tt is sorted - hope it's helped feeding.

I bf'd in public for the first time today. Went to a cafe for lunch with DH. It was fine but I can't say I got much pleasure from eating one handed whilst trying to keep DS quiet and latched. It was good to get out but I'm still finding it stressful to leave the house while DS is so unpredictable.

Lauren82000 · 14/05/2015 00:17

Wow longest stretch of sleep we've ever had! Massive feed at 7 for half an hour and just woke up now. Had a half hearted nibble on the right boob and is currently snoozing on my chest. We put her down in her basket downstairs and DH brought her up and put her in the crib. Think she may be waking up for the other side... Or maybe not? No it was just a stretch and a squeak. Smile wonder what we did that caused the big sleep? She slept most of today too.

PenguinPoser · 14/05/2015 03:36

Well done on the public feed jetpack! It is difficult trying to hold them in place while eating/drinking yourself isn't it. Limits what I order in cafes now thinking hmm could I eat it one handed! Went for brunch last week and dd started crying so I quickly cut it all up into bite size pieces before feeding her! Sad times hehe.

Lauren fab news on the long stretch of sleep. Hope you were asleep too!! DD went to sleep about 9.30 and I was up with her at 2.45 so not bad either.

She is feeding ok since tt snip... Fed loads last night. Hey feed just now I think was quicker than usual - which was one of the main hopes from getting tt done so fbfets crossed. It's early days still. Last night she seemed quite amazed with her tongue and kept sticking it out. Which is good as they advised tongue exercises for her!!

Last night I finally started watching my maternity leave box set!! First 2 episodes of call the midwife. Was fab but a little upsetting at times having just had a baby. I can't believe how strong my emotions are since having dd. despite my tiredness and frustration and tears at times I just love her so much and would literally do anything for her and couldn't imagine her being taken away. A young girl on call the midwife had baby taken for adoption and she was screaming and they bound her boobs to stop the milk she had been feeding her baby. Made me feel Sad and so protective of dd and my milk for her!!

Lauren82000 · 14/05/2015 03:47

Call the midwife makes me cry nearly every time penguin. Some of them are just so sad. Are you watching the latest series? That had some heartbreaking ones in it. I won't spoil it for you but the one with the twins was awful. Made me cry buckets.

I didn't go to bed when DD fell asleep for her long stretch I went half way through it so I got at least 2&1/2 hours in before she woke up which wasn't bad. (I was too busy eating a whole 114g bar of galaxy and a bag of crisps to go to sleep with herBlush) Been up and down since though about an hour/ hour and half between wake ups the rest of the night. Twice to feed once for a cuddle. She just doesn't seem to want more than a nibble on one boob each time. If I could only get her to feed longer but I've tried tickling feet, changing bum winding nothing works and she just likes to snackHmm

PenguinPoser · 14/05/2015 03:51

I've just started at the beginning Lauren as I've never seen any of them so only seen first 2 episodes of first series so far. Aw bet I spend half the time in tears!! I still enjoyed what I've seen so far though. Was nice to watch something other than daytime TV! Glad you've had a bit of decent sleep anyway. I was asleep before 11 I think so had a few hours. It still never seems like enough though!

Jetpackplease · 14/05/2015 04:30

I am desperate for DS to let me sleep for longer than 2 hours! He now sometimes wakes after 2 hours but will then sleep for another hour if I don't pick him up straight away (like tonight), but then I'm already awake so don't get the benefit of uninterrupted sleep. Like Lauren, whatever I do to try to get him to feed for longer doesn't work. I keep jumping ahead in the baby book I'm reading to see when they're supposed to start sleeping longer at night!

Wineandchoccy · 14/05/2015 04:34

Dd hasn't had a poo for 24 hours, do you think I should ring the doctors when they open or do I not panic just yet?
The only thing that has changed is we used gripe water Mon and Tues night but I didn't use it last night in case that was the problem.

ChickenMe · 14/05/2015 04:36

I don't know if it's a coincidence but DD has slept well past two nights and in the day we had her outside a fair bit in the sun and wind. I certainly feel tired if I'm outdoors more so it could work for babies too.

kismac · 14/05/2015 04:37

Oh no, Cinnamon. Hope he makes a speedy recovery.

Congratulations on the weight gain, Fi.

Glad tongue tie appointment went went well, Penguin. Hope it makes a difference.

Jet, well done on feeding in public. I ended up feeding in public for second time. Took her to register at GP's and she wanted fed so fed her in the waiting room. Im really surprised at how much it doesn't bother me. My boobs are large so can't really do it discreetly but I don't care.

Aww, well done on the big sleep, Lauren. Yum, chocolate!

Got discharged from midwife today and health visitor is coming tomorrow. There's a breastfeeding group on tomorrow that Im going to try and make and might attempt lunch out with DH too. Eek!

kismac · 14/05/2015 04:42

Oops by tomorrow I mean today!

Hmmm, Wine Im not sure. No harm in calling for some advice. Could you try giving some boiled water?

cinnamongreyhound · 14/05/2015 04:51

I'm sure it does make a difference ChickenMe, also someone posted an article on fb page and it mentioned being outside too.

I wouldn't worry wineandchoccy, if you're ebf babies can go days without a poo and be absolutely fine. I have said before but ds2 used to go a week to 10 days between poo's until I started weaning.

Good news on faster feeds PenguinPoser, hope it helps with everything feeding related long term. I remember that call the midwife episode Sad

Sleep in general seems to be improving Lauren82000. Pretty sure chocolate is a sleep substitute, well that's how I've been using it anyway!

Jetpackplease · 14/05/2015 07:35

Wine my DS is ebf and poos every other day or every third day. As cinnamon says, it's normal for some ebf babies to "store it up" and then have mega poos but I'm still obsessed with tracking when and how much he poos as it freaks me out.

Chicken and cinnamon I'll try keeping him outside more and see if it helps the sleeping! We went for a walk yesterday but I was v paranoid about what he should be wearing as it was v warm and worried a lot about whether he was too hot or too cold. Clueless ftm.

I'm eating SO MUCH chocolate at the moment! I'm never going to lose the rest of my pregnancy weight this way Sad Another reason to get outdoors and walk around with DS!

cinnamongreyhound · 14/05/2015 08:10

Go by the rule of one layer more than you Jetpackplease. Remember you're walking and generating heat and they're not. You will learn quite quickly if you have a warm or cold baby. Mine have always been in two layers until it gets up to the few very hot weeks 25C+ as even a breeze can really cool them down.
