Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Lauren82000 · 12/05/2015 21:06

Trying infacol this evening to see if it'll help her settle better. Not entirely sure how much she swallowed as she spat quite a bit outConfused also moving her to the crib instead of the basket. Hoping she will be ok, she was awake quite a bit today and I got her to nap in her bouncer Smile went to dig out a sleeping bag for her for the crib but it's far too long meant to be 0-6months but it's as long as the crib?! Too scared to tuck it under the mattress as crib mattresses are paper thin so no weight to hold it in place.

smogsville · 12/05/2015 21:13

Lauren I reckon it would be fine my only concern with sleeping bags is if the head hole is too big at the top for a newborn's small head iyswim.

So it turns out me and DH have eaten 200g of choc this evening and he hasn't had nearly as much as me Blush

Lauren82000 · 12/05/2015 21:32

Nowt wrong with that smogs. I can quite easily polish off about 150g bars in one sitting. Blush

DD is asleep going to stick her in basket so I can go up to bed now and DH can watch her.

brummagem · 12/05/2015 21:34

Thanks cinnamon pm sent.

DS has been golden all day been out and about for most of it. Evening comes and he's back to not sleeping lots of dry crying bordering on temper tantrum sounding. It's heartbreaking just want him to settle so we can all get some sleep!

Jetpackplease · 12/05/2015 23:07

Help! DS seems to have decided he will only sleep on me tonight! Usually he goes down in his co-sleeper crib but so far today every time I put him down, he wakes up within a few minutes. How do you guys get through the night when your babies are like this?! I'm already nodding off and am scared I'll drop him Sad But I need to sleep!

Lauren82000 · 12/05/2015 23:09

First feed of the night, she took the infacol much better this time. I'm blaming DH for holding her wrong the first time. Grin Just had a right good guzzle of the first boob. I've laid her down on my legs wrapped in her blanket to test going on her back before I transfer her, I couldn't get any wind out so waiting for the grunting to start so I can try again.Hmm

Lauren82000 · 12/05/2015 23:13

X post there Jetpack. When DD is like that the only option for me is to wake DH and tell him to hold her for an hour. Probably not what you want to do but it gives you an hour to get over your shear exhaustion and you can face the rest of the night better if you just grab a little sleep. Other option I find is if your bf lie on your side and let LO drop off on the boob. Just roll them slowly on their back once they are asleep and just let them co sleep with you till either of you wake up next.

Jetpackplease · 12/05/2015 23:23

Thanks Lauren. Will see what we can manage...

I hope the infacol works for you. DS clearly hates the taste and I find it doesn't always result in burps, though seems to produce a lot of farts! I'm going to try gripe water once he is a month old, next week.

FiRaffe · 13/05/2015 00:42

Sorry haven't kept up today, difficult without MIL thinking i'm rude.

With babies who don't settle anywhere but on you, you just have to go with it unfortunately. i've tended to prop myself a bit more upright and away from the edge of the bed and tried not to sleep, but still end up power napping with DS on me.

Went to baby massage today and did no massage, instead had a boiling hot, hungry, crying baby even before we tried the massage! I did watch though and we have the stuff to try at home.... hopefully it'll be better next week.

Great news on the weight gain, sorry can't see who it was. We've got weigh in this morning and hopefully DS will have broken the 6lb mark!

Hope all have a good night!

cinnamongreyhound · 13/05/2015 01:57

I do that in the morning if I've had a bad night Lauren82000 and we both tend to sleep but dh can't sleep with snuffling baby! Seems like a fair trade off of I've been up half the night and it's past 5am.

Good luck with weigh in FiRaffe!

We've had a very sleepy day so I'm expecting a bad night! Been up since 1.20 for this feed and I'm going to attempt operation out baby back in cot now!

Lauren82000 · 13/05/2015 02:02

So much for the infacol. I thought we were doing ok but since that last feed I've not had any sleep yet. Hmm DD just sounds like she has phlegm rattling in her throat when I put her down. Instant I pick her up she sounds fine. Was really chocking on it before bless her. Wonder what I can do about it? She isn't congested as she is breathing fine on my chest but on her back is rattly as anything.

brummagem · 13/05/2015 04:21

Confused that's been an interesting few hrs. Staggered to sleep at 9pm. Woke up 2am soaked in milk. OH had given DS a formula feed at 10.30pm. DS had just filled nappy so changed him gave him boob then another pooy nappy changed again other boob and another nappy!

When he poos he does a massive windy fart too. You really can't mistake it no polite face gurning here.

brummagem · 13/05/2015 04:25

Ffs nodding off again while typing.

lauren hope you get her settled and unrattly soon.

fir gl with weigh in!

cinnamon hope you're both sleeping well.

Eating of chocolate is always good. Especially with a nice cuppa to melt away chocolate in your mouth.

Jetpackplease · 13/05/2015 04:31

Hope you're asleep by now Lauren, but could you try having the crib/basket at an incline so her head is slightly higher? We do that with ds's crib because he can be a bit sicky in his sleep.

FiRaffe · 13/05/2015 04:42

We're having a pooey gassy night too. Think this is my punishment for having a small slice of cake at baby massage earlier!

Hope operation get baby back in bed was successful cinnamon!

PenguinPoser · 13/05/2015 06:05

Hope you ladies got back to sleep. Brummagem you're so right about the chocolate bring better with a cuppa to melt it! Yum Grin

I don't like this time of the morning feed... No hope of more sleep Sad

On a separate note... Thought we would try dtd last night (it's been a while!!) and I just couldn't get in the zone! I think my body was very aware of a sleeping baby close by and also scared it might hurt. Ended up not doing it. Worried I'm broken! Confused and I know worrying about it won't help. Argh!

Wineandchoccy · 13/05/2015 07:00

penguin good luck for your DD's tontie tie appt today, it's my DD's appt at 9am I'm ok at the minute but I bet I cry as much as she will do later.

cinnamongreyhound · 13/05/2015 07:17

Yes thank you, he woke the instant I put him down so I tried leaving him which didn't work, another settle and then another feed and he went down about 2.30 and woke up at 7 Shock he actually got himself off to sleep in the day yesterday and slept quite a bit. One of my minded little girls commented on how little he'd cried! Dh has decided it's the sodium supplement Hmm

You're not broken PenguinPoser!! Perhaps try in a different room to baby so you're not so conscious? Take it slowly and you can always stop but try not to worry as you're right it will make it harder.

Good luck for those with tongue tie snips Smile

smogsville · 13/05/2015 07:20

Penguin maybe wait until baby feeding less and have a relaxing wine or two first ?

Good luck with tt and i don't think it's meant to hurt as much as heel prick test.

FiRaffe · 13/05/2015 07:41

Good luck with the tt appointments ladies.

Not been in the situation yet penguin but i'm sure your OH understands. there will be a time i'm sure when you feel better.

Lauren82000 · 13/05/2015 08:05

In the end I co slept with her, fed her boob and then let her nod off on the bed with me. We slept for 3 hours and would have slept longer but it was time to get up to get everyone ready for work/nursery. So I was up from 12-4 Hmm surprisingly don't feel that bad this morning and managed to not be a zombie whilst I got DD ready and little one had a quick nibble. She is now crying in the car as DH had to nip to asda and she wants more milk!

Wineandchoccy · 13/05/2015 11:29

Tongue tie appt went ok and I have fed since and it didnt feel sore and no clicking sound so hopefully she will start to feed a lot better now it's been snipped.
HV coming at 1pm and typically the sun is shining and I don't really have time to go anywhere to enjoy it.

Hope you have a better night tonight Lauren will you get chance for a nap later?

Lauren82000 · 13/05/2015 11:48

Just woke up from one actually Wine. I'd nodded off on the sofa and woke up to a drool puddle Blush madam is still asleep though.

Glad you TT seems to have worked.

PenguinPoser · 13/05/2015 12:18

Pleased it went well Wineandchoccy. How old is your DD now? Did it bleed much?

Glad you got a nap Lauren!

Injections went ok this morning DD was ok she screamed but only for a minute. She's snoozing on DH at the moment.

Wineandchoccy · 13/05/2015 12:52

Glad you have had a sleep Lauren

Penguin dd is 4 weeks 4 days today, it took about 1 second to do and no blood, she didn't even flinch. I held her on my knee with her arms wrapped in a blanket. I was asked if I would give her a feed in a side room then the consultant came and checked her again and asked if I could tell any difference when she was feeding.
