Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
smogsville · 09/05/2015 20:53

Me neither FiRaffe i can't be bothered with expressing it was a gigantic faff last time and DD never took the bottle anyway.

Lauren82000 · 09/05/2015 23:44

Waiting to see if DD is going to settle herself in the basket or not. She had just one boob and fell asleep so I kept her on my chest for 25mins then put her down. She is grunting and sounds like she has phlegm rattling in the back of her throat but so far has yet to actually wake up. Been 15mins now, do I just pick her up or leave her longer? She actually settled herself today in the bouncy chair as I had to leave her to grizzle and cry while I was helping DD1 with baking.

cinnamongreyhound · 10/05/2015 01:01

Excellent! Sam has done it twice I think Lauren82000! Last few days/week he's been going off 5-6pm, waking at 8-9 for feed then sleeping soundly until 12-1 but with that pattern he doesn't seem to be able to sleep past 5am Sad he then needs to be soothed or is awake.

cinnamongreyhound · 10/05/2015 01:03

Think I'd rather a bit more cluster feeding in the evening and sleeping past 5!

Lauren82000 · 10/05/2015 01:10

Well she gave me a hour cinnamon. Nowim struggling to keep my eyes open while she settles on my chest after the other boob. Sad DH has fallen asleep in DDs bed again after putting her back. Hmm Wonder when he's going to wake back up?

cinnamongreyhound · 10/05/2015 01:13

Mine is snoring well! He makes me laugh when he tells me he only snores on his back! Only if his back includes both sides as well Wink

kismac · 10/05/2015 03:20

Aww, thanks. That makes me feel better. They say baby's crys will wake you but they've lied about that too. New rule, don't read anything.

She sounds like a little piggy today. Lots of snorts and grunts. Sneezed a bit bogey on me too which was just charming. We seem to be getting longer stretches of sleep. Yay. Keep freaking myself out thinking Im still feeding her and I wake up in a panic, only for DH to tell me she's in her cot.

kismac · 10/05/2015 03:21

Cries* Uh, spelling is hard when sleepy.

FiRaffe · 10/05/2015 03:40

Definitely don't read Mr Google kismac....it's so easy to do!

Just had 4 hours between feeds but still feel like the walking dead! It also sounds like DS's tummy is trying to explode or something. It's really rumbly but he is farting independently properly for the first time it seems, well loud enough without colic movements or being winded. Hopefully this is a good sign.

Hope you're getting some rest Lauren and cinnamon!

Lauren82000 · 10/05/2015 03:40

That's sleep deprecation Kismac Wink

Ahh just had to do a full change someone had done a massive wee that soaked through to the sheet. iim having trouble with the new sheet and the towel rolls fitting under it though Confused why don't they go under it nicely like it did before?

ChickenMe · 10/05/2015 03:56

I do that kismac. Wake up in a panic thinking I've fallen asleep on her.
We also have farmyard noises. DD is nicknamed piggy/piglet/piggy wig wig by me s/t.

cinnamongreyhound · 10/05/2015 03:56

Up for fourth time since 1 and I'm soooo tired!

ChickenMe · 10/05/2015 03:58

Omg she cluster fed yesterday all day. I was at my wits end. From 7am to 1330 she gave me a few little breaks to get ready and we went out for an hour. After that it was all day till about 2100. She slept 4hours though but what a price to pay for it!!

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 10/05/2015 04:03

Just woke up with DD on my chest. Last thing I remember is feeding her at about midnight...Blush But cross with DH as he clearly came to bed after I dropped off and left us despite his medication and the fact he was drinking a bit last night so not at all happy he didn't just put her in her basket or wake me up!! Angry Plus I needed to take my antibiotics for my mastitis at about 1!!! Sorry to rant!

Feeding again now but slightly less zombie like at least!

Lauren82000 · 10/05/2015 04:35

Oops just realised I've nearly been up for an hour. Damn you phone games! I could have put her down 20 mins ago.

brummagem · 10/05/2015 04:58

Managed 4 hrs DH gave him a bottle of formula as I was dead to the world. Tried expressing today and after 5 mins pumping got a whole teaspoon of milk. Going to ring BF support people to come and visit.

DS still not settling in carrycot or cot Sad although when I put his cardigan and hat on and we went for a walk he was out like a light bulb. Fed outdoors this afternoon on the allotment then lots of cuddles wrapped up under coat then he went back in carrycot for journey home.

MW suggested infacol as she thought he might be colicky as when he doesn't settle he's moving his hands and pumping his legs up and down. It feels like he's trying to push something out.

Good news is his jaundice is sorting itself out so we don't have to go to clinic tomorrow.

4 pooy nappies today. Will never look at korma or grainy mustard in the same way again!

kismac · 10/05/2015 07:18

We started on infantcol too due to legs permanently being up at chest. Don't getany burps but tons of fasts. I did all the night feeds last night. Feeling very proud and I don't feel too tired. Yay.

Brum, I think that amount might be normal cause it's early days as Im not getting much either. I've been told to only pump after feeds now so can only get 0.5oz in total which sucks as I could get 2oz before.

FiRaffe · 10/05/2015 07:53

DS doesn't really burp much either, usually only when I change his position mid winding (E.g move from lying to rub his tummy onto my shoulder, or hanging his legs down)

Wineandchoccy · 10/05/2015 07:54

Morning all, dd just woke for a feed after a 4 HR 15 min sleep I feel almost human after that. I wonder if she will let me have another couple of hours after she has fed.

We use infacol before every feed because she has colic in the evenings, also when I feed at night I put a muslin behind me so that it warms up and when I put her back in the crib I lie her on the warm muslin and she seems to settle quicker.

cinnamongreyhound · 10/05/2015 11:11

I have to say infacol made no difference to ds1, though I now suspect he had reflux and not just/ instead of colic. Baby massage helped him, we did the sun and moon at every nappy change and the bicycle legs as well as pushing his knees up into his tummy. His inconsolable crying was limited to 3-8pm and was only alleviated by feeding. It last until around 12 weeks for him so does have an end for those struggling.

I wouldn't worry too much about expressing brummagem, it's very early days for your milk and expressing really isn't a good guide for how much milk you have.

Yay for sleep wineandchoccy!

FiRaffe · 10/05/2015 11:34

Yay for sleep wine. DS had a good night too, maybe it's settling down now they are 4 weeks old.....we can hope!

PenguinPoser · 10/05/2015 12:21

Pleased some of you have had a decent sleep! I had a lie in this morning while DH cuddled dd which was nice except now she's been asleep all morning which doesn't help the day/night difference I'm trying to get her into!

Those struggling to get wind up - gripe water seems much better than infacol. You can give it from 1 month of age. Dd has loads of wind but hoping if we get her tongue tie sorted it will ease a bit as she'll hopefully be feeding better.

Jetpackplease · 10/05/2015 16:39

Another one on infacol here. Ds seems to have trouble with wind. He squirms a lot and needs a lot of winding. I'm not sure how much the infacol helps though. I have some gripe water I can try when he gets to 4 weeks. He also really struggles and strains when he poos, which at the moment is every other day. It makes me so sad seeing him so uncomfortable and upset Sad

FiRaffe · 10/05/2015 16:47

It is so difficult seeing them in pain. Hope everyone's little ones get better soon

smogsville · 10/05/2015 19:51

Got another question. DS is now 3.5 wks old, EBF and I think I might be having... a period! Is this even possible?

With DD I don't think I had a period for more than six months. The bleeding is v different to the lochia which seemed to stop about a week ago. This started about 24 hrs ago.
