Yup definitely a no basket night. Fine on my shoulder/ chest but not in basket. Think it's becoming a pattern a good night or two followed by a bad one. Hmm Got a really full day tomorrow and no chance of a nap to try and make up for the no sleep. Confused

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 09/05/2015 03:10

Still awake here... I thought I had missed DH at night, but finding his snoring a little grating tonight!!!

FiRaffe · 09/05/2015 03:22

Oh dear littlegrey, although I know what you mean about the snoring!

DS has decided that he really isn't in need of sleep much. ....barely slept at all during the day and now feeding 2 hourly when we usually get at least 3 if not 4 hours between feeds. Hopefully he'll sleep well after this feed.... i'm so tired!

Hope you're getting some sleep ladies

brummagem · 09/05/2015 04:18

1.5hrs after put DS in baby bouncer. Back to not settling in carrycot. Ffs. Feel like death.DS currently on boob but it's not feeding its pacifying there's no suckimg/swallowing noise. At wits emd with tiredness and because I'm bf DH gets to sleep through the night as there's not much he can do.

ChickenMe · 09/05/2015 04:22

We have a green poo now and then smogs and I think it's normal. She seems fine.
I'm scared to write about my OH on here cos if I go into a rant about s/t at home he will say have you put it on MN so I wonder if he checks. This was more during the preg when his mum was getting on my wick and being too full on. I had ranted here though despite saying no of course not.
DD being really fussy tonight on the boob. Changed her nappy again to hopefully snap her out of it.
We had the same anxiety with our cat Penguin. We had a cat net-she used it as a hammock. We have now found a contraption strong enough to hold her weight - she is so naughty. She still gets on it. What will you do long term?

ChickenMe · 09/05/2015 04:35

DH could help settle him brum. Sometimes they settle much better with DHs-mine does. Sorry you're not getting any respite-this is a horrible time of morning too.

smogsville · 09/05/2015 04:51

Thanks for poo colour comments. DH just changed him and apparently it was 'massive' so hopefully all is well.

Chicken I agree with you DH much better at settling and burping than me. It's partly the no milk smell and partly a big flat wide chest instead of a bumpy booby one I think!

Wineandchoccy · 09/05/2015 05:01

My breat pad has moved so I've leaked everywhere I have had to deal with a hungry baby, change of clothes and bedding for me Angry

Going to try 2nd boob now because her eyes are wide open, I just want to go back to sleep.

PenguinPoser · 09/05/2015 05:26

Thus is the worst part of the night I think and the hardest time to be awake so Shane most of us are! I used to work nights relatively frequently (no more thank goodness apart from occasional one off!) and definitely 3-6am is the worst time where I always just wanted to curl up under the desk and sleep like forever. DD just come off boob again but suspect she might not be full yet.

Wine I'm all damp too the muslin I had down my top was soaked! Not changing sheets now though it can wait until daylight!

Chicken - I think we will just keep the cat out of our room while dd in here. When she moves to the nursery the cat can come back if she wants to and be shut out of dd's room. I think she will get used to it its just the first night so she doesn't know why she isn't allowed in bless her.

FiRaffe · 09/05/2015 06:57

Sorry you haven't had great nights ladies. Hope you can at least rest today and your OHs can help. I think we're planning on staying in bed/on the sofa and catching up with game of thrones.

ChickenMe · 09/05/2015 07:00

We are so soppy about our cat because she was rescued that she's always slept it our bed. I previously shut her out but she clawed and wailed. OH found a cot cover which really is anti cat as it takes her weight. It's breathable-it's actually designed primarily for babies who need a dark environment but it does also say it's a cat net so it was our last resort. I call it DD's womb! It's called Cot Canopy Breeze if anyone needs s/t similar.

cinnamongreyhound · 09/05/2015 07:22

Last few nights Sam has decided 5.15 is get up time. He's had his previous feed at 4-4.30 so not hungry. White noise app bides some time but today we put him in bed, been snoozing and feeding since. Big boys are up and drawing so I'm seeing a new drawing every 5 mins or so and Sam and dh are snoring next to me!

smogsville · 09/05/2015 07:51

cinnamon my DD (3.5) came in sometime before 7 and wouldn't be quiet until she had forced DH to get out of bed and go downstairs to make her breakfast. DS has been grumbling for a while now so I had better get him up as my boobs are now quite painful.

Happy weekend everyone.

smogsville · 09/05/2015 08:13

And we're back to yellow - it must have been the asparagus.

LittleGreyCatwithapinkcollar · 09/05/2015 08:39

Yay for yellow poo smogs!

DD finally went down at 3:30 and didn't wake til 8! Hoping after this mammoth feed she'll want a couple more hours! Don't know how you all cope with toddlers etc too!!

FiRaffe · 09/05/2015 11:24

Good news smogs. I think our chart says you might get bright green sometimes.

I'm struggling with DS's new feeding strategy. We not only seem to be having feed every 2 hours whatever time but yesterday we had wake up and scream for food without any feeding cues. Hope this improves soon and he at least stays calm and warns us he wants to eat!

cinnamongreyhound · 09/05/2015 13:40

Looks like it could be down to crap blood taking on Thursday, which messes up electrolyte levels. Got to wait 2hrs for results though. He's had blood pressure, temp, sats, weight, urine and blood all taken and physical exam and Dr is happy he looks very healthy. Gained another 100g since Thursday!

PenguinPoser · 09/05/2015 14:17

That sounds reassuring cinnamon but still you've had the trip and the worry! Potassium levels can rise in blood if it is difficult to take or sits around for a while before being analysed so hopefully the repeat will be normal.

Glad the poo is back to normal smogs!

FiRaffe · 09/05/2015 15:12

Glad that it might be as simple as that cinnamon.

cinnamongreyhound · 09/05/2015 17:28

All normal but slightly raised urea, want to repeat Monday to be sure sodium levels are normal and then back to see our Dr Thursday. Dh wants to come but don't want him to use all his leave!! Plus I will have to take minded kids or let parents down. Have messaged them but no response so far, think people might be worried about their children going to hospital but it is a children's ward so lots to do just risk of infection I guess. Really want them to leave him alone! Poor baby had 6 vials of blood taken today Sad. It's so draining and seems pointless each time as he's actually fine, worry that they are doing it to cover their arses rather than for the right reasons.

kismac · 09/05/2015 19:07

Aww Cinnamon, your poor wee man. Hope the test results have improved on Monday.

Baby has been feeding constantly today and had some really good long feeds yesterday. She actually spat my nipple out couple of times yesterday which shehas never done before so taking that to mean she is full . Plus, felt as if she settled a lot better last night. Now a wee bit paranoid as boobs feel a bit soft today and I've been a bit rubbish with the night feeds. DH has been doing a couple using expressed milk as a couple of times he couldn't wake me. Yes, I slept through my baby crying. I am a horrible mum. So must get back to doing more night time feeds to boost supply.

smogsville · 09/05/2015 19:25

kismac I never wake up DH always wakes me up to do feeds. I take it as a measure of how hard our bodies must be working to produce breast milk.

cinnamon I hope Penguin is right and the results have just been skewed.

Once again thanks for poo comments!

DD has been a total whinge bag today and showing no signs of going to sleep. She's had a lovely day - a (pointless just for fun) ride on the bus with DH and allowed to go on top deck, a friend round and still she is being painful ConfusedShockBlush

FiRaffe · 09/05/2015 19:50

I have slept through DS crying too. Terrifies me that I could when we're alone, but I hope I sleep because I know DH is capable. He can't feed yet though as I haven't expressed at all.
