Ah it's fine wil. I definitely never leave my bedroom (unless it's to pump when she's extra sleepy). MrJ can sleep through the night feeds!

She did SEVEN hours last night. Just when I was so tired. Going to get her weighed shortly.

cookielove · 15/01/2015 09:57

When Eli was littler (he's not that big) I read that it can take 3 months for newborns to work out night is night and day is day! Which freaked me right out!

What a relief Juni! I love it when they surprise you with a big snooze Grin
I don't leave the room with J, DH sleeps like the dead!

Minion · 15/01/2015 15:40

We nob off to the nursery. Ro would wake tge dead with her burps alone.
What can I do about constipation girls? Think she's suffering

willywallace · 15/01/2015 15:59

Cooled boiled water, tummy massage and leg cycling are about all I can think of Min.

Have you seen these Ness? Would that help?? I'm getting one for DS cos he doesn't like having his arms swaddled in. And I'm shit at swaddling!!

We had 5 hours straight last nightShock

RPopz · 15/01/2015 17:42

Crappy link! Love to Dream Baby Swaddle...

willywallace · 15/01/2015 19:08

The picture makes me laugh popz, I think it's because it makes the baby look like it's got a woman's figure! Let me know what it's like as I am also crap at swaddling so gave up last time but I could tell she liked it.

RPopz · 15/01/2015 20:18

Haha, I know, that super imposed head freaks me out lolz Grin

Minion · 15/01/2015 20:35

Think it's colic.
Help me

cookielove · 15/01/2015 20:59

When Elijah had constipation we gave him water mixed with prune juice and then we went to the Dr and she prescribed Lactulose which really helped. The leg thing never worked with him.

Elijah consistently will sleep 9.30-3.30 then 4.00 -7.30 ish so not so bad. Still waiting for him to sleep through Hmm

That's pretty damn good Cookie.

Min colic is a bastard and I never found anything wholly effective other than just growing out of it. Are you bf at all or formula? Only asking because I found formula made it worse but think that was down to undiagnosed allergy.

We carried her so she was leaning forward, kind of balanced on the forearm which seemed to stop the screaming. Mr Wil did pace with her for hours though. I also spent a long time trying to get wind up after feed.

Again, cooled boiled water is supposed to help and there are a number of things you can try such as colocynth granules, infacol, colief etc.
You can prop their mattress up, using a special wedge or just blankets etc and do same when in pram etc. I have heard people say slings help.

Hold baby upright when feeding and if using a bottle I think you're supposed to use one of the faster flowing teats so they don't swallow so much air. If you are still bf, you can experiment with cutting out things like caffeine, alcohol, dairy, spicy stuff and see if that helps.

Maybe a warm bath and massage? (for you aswell as R Wink ).

The good thing is she'll grow out of it but I know when you're stuck in the midst of it it feels like Hell. I found she was on the whole better when we were out of the house. Whether this just distracted her or being on the move helped, I don't know but days we stayed in all day could be torturous.

Nessalina · 16/01/2015 03:14

Oh gawd Min, that's not good! Have a chat with your GP, ours was helpful when we thought J might have colic, but essentially they don't know what causes it, and there isn't a definitive remedy Confused She prescribed us some Infacol at his 6 week check, but we never got round to using it because he stopped the frustrating evening crying routine around then.
J used to like being bounced around in the Tiger In The Tree hold, and feeding him always settled him down a bit too... We resorted to dummy at 4 weeks which was a godsend when the screaming got too much!

Minion · 16/01/2015 03:45

I'm terrified, been reading that this can last another 9 weeks of it is colic..
Arggghhhhhhhhh
She didn't go down til 12 last night, fed at 11, no crying, just wide awake.
Husband did that shift whilst I slept but he couldn't settle her so in I came. Half hour of rocking and ewan the dream sheep and she's out.
So that's what I'm doing now, hopefully ewan can work his magic once again.
No crying as of yet and I've been going 44 mins in total, give it time tho....

JuniDD · 16/01/2015 10:00

Did you get there in the end min?

Can I have a moan? Need a blood test post-pregnancy for molar pregnancy follow-up. Surgery say U have to go to blood clinic which is 8.30 - 9.30 Monday and Friday. Not the most realistic time for me plus I don't really want to be sitting around the surgery with my little baby indefinitely in the morning. Angry Angry Angry

willywallace · 16/01/2015 10:48

What do they check for Juni? Sorry if that's nosy, I just know nothing about it. Do you have a car to get you there? That does suck. Same with all MiniWil's activities. Everything starts at 9.30, how the hell will I make that with a newborn?!

JuniDD · 16/01/2015 10:56

I assume they check there's no hcg in my system. If there is it's a sign the tumour has regrown which it can do after pregnancy. It's so science fiction. It's easier to walk there but too early stressful.

Anyway MrJ said not to bother and he's usually very keen on the tests. I got histology on my placenta which was fine and that's the key marker.

So tired today but no days off mummyhood eh?

Minion · 16/01/2015 11:22

Hell yeah I got there juni, Ewan is the best £30 we've spent so far. She woke back up at 5;30 however, but I got her fed and back in bed by half 7 with no crying again,
She has also done an epic poo and looks mightily pleased with herself,
Let's hope it was constipation in the end as she's happily gone off again post 11 bottle.
It's bloody hard to keep them awake isn't it? She just gets bored of me and nods off again.

9:30? In the morning? Do they not know that's completely in achievable with a newborn?
It's like all those classes, they all start early.. Like before lunch,.. I haven't even eaten breakfast, by lunch, let alone think about being in a room with other peoples kids and the dreaded 'yummy mummies'...

Minion · 16/01/2015 11:24

In achievable?
Unachievable... Frickin auto incorrect

willywallace · 16/01/2015 12:35

We're not bad for yummy mummies round these parts. There are a few but they're heavily outnumbered. The baby class we used to go to was after lunch so perfectly sensible. But toddler classes are always early because it's assumed that all toddlers get up at 5.30am. Which thankfully mine does not. Although I think I'll have to start doing so to get a tiny fed and dressed and out by the back of nine.

cookielove · 16/01/2015 16:25

I do quite a few classes I really enjoy it :)

Elijah slept 9.00 - 7.20 am, how on earth do i get him to repeat this night after night, any ideas?

He also rolled earlier and I missed it Shock so I will pretend it never happened Wink

RPopz · 16/01/2015 18:18

We're starting Daisy Tinies in Feb. Starts at 2.30pm though Grin

Minion · 16/01/2015 18:53

She's not crying yet... And we're fully into the witching hour.
Maybe the mega poonami sorted her out a bit!
Here's hoping.
Oh no for missing rolls! The next one will be miles more ace!

willywallace · 16/01/2015 18:59

Sounds like it might have just been constipation then Min, good news.

Nessalina · 17/01/2015 19:19

Where is everyone?! Grin
I've been out for lunch with my pals and J came along! The little star slept whilst we ate thank goodness.
DH is having a melt down coz the house is a tip and my folks are coming tomorrow. We have a baby - they won't expect it to be tidy!!
