He can use the energy from his meltdown to tidy then Ness Wink .

cookielove · 17/01/2015 19:33

Elijah had a bad night :( but the night previous to that he slept through so not the end of the world.

I dropped dh at a friends house and on the way over we almost had a crash really shook me up! Some idiot pulled across the dual carriageway really slowly forcing me to brake harshly it was way to close for comfort!

Spent the afternoon shopping with my mum after dropping dh off which was nice.

Hahaha! Why do the menzfolkz only freak out about housework when parents visit?
We're here, I've been r refreshing hoping someone comes online!
We're trying something new with Ro. Figured she really doesn't like having a nap in late afternoon, so she's been happily (eventually) awake for 4 hrs, so we r trying early bottle then bed, little bugger fell fast asleep and wouldn't take bottle 10 mins before she was due to have it. So we put her down and she sat there wide awake quiet as a church mouse, so we threw a bottle down her neck and back in bed.

Fingers crossed this works, she's not bad behaved but I would like my meal warm tonight haha!

What age do the drop one of their night feeds?

Minion · 17/01/2015 19:37

Shit cookie, are you OK? There's some right twatchops' on the road.

willywallace · 17/01/2015 20:00

Just depends Min, they're all so different and I can't remember. They just start sleeping for longer periods at a time and so forget to wake up.

cookielove · 17/01/2015 20:04

Well every baby is different, Elijah is basically down to one feed a night and has been for around 3 months. However he does sometimes sleep through and sometimes wakes up 2 or 3 times. I love it when he sleeps through and hate the 2- 3 wake ups!

I am ok now but wow it was a close one

How horrible cookie Shock Glad you're ok. Always makes me shaky a near miss Confused
J went off for a 'little nap' at 7pm and he's still asleep!! This is terrible. It's either his big sleep and I've been awake for most of it, or he'll wake up soon and not go off for hours now... Can't bring myself to wake him!!
I could try a transfer to upstairs cot...

Minion · 17/01/2015 22:53

Do it...
I may not have a clue what I'm talking about though

willywallace · 17/01/2015 22:56

Ooh did you risk it Ness? No chance I would have. MiniWil has always been one to wake up if you so much as glance in her direction.

Minion · 18/01/2015 02:50

Guilt city here. It's husbands turn to feed and she not only did a massive dump stealth like as it didn't smell but now she's playing silly beggars and is wide awake...

Evil laugh

Though I'm awake too, so maybe it's backfired a bit '..

Nessalina · 18/01/2015 04:36

Ha! I hope you were at least pretending to be asleep Min! Grin
The sleep dilemma was broken by some stirring and what sounded like a poo, so I decided to change him... He was proper asleep too, took him a while to come round and there wasn't even a poo in there so I felt quite bad Blush
All ok though, he fed and I took him upstairs and he settled back down and slept 11pm to now. Just hoping he'll go back to sleep now...

Minion · 18/01/2015 07:01

I didn't pretend.
Stupid me got up and offers to take her downstairs, where she remained awake for 2 hours!!!

Even hollyoaks and desperate housewife didn't bore her
She's just woke and the husband has said!' ill do it ', uh yeah you will!

Good job I love him

JuniDD · 18/01/2015 09:52

Robyn knows what she wants!

DD must be growing, first morning in a while I've woken engorged and she's actually fed properly. It's going to be a good day not walking around all lopsided!

On the night waking, she used to only wake once but lately that has gone to two or three...she reliably goes to bes at 8 for six hours though so swings and roundabouts.

cookielove · 18/01/2015 12:12

Elijah has had two very bad nights in a row! Last night he woke 10.30. 12.30. 1.00. 3.40 and 5.30 then I gave him to dh!

Teething cookie?

FurryScoob · 18/01/2015 16:12

Shock oh no, sleeping through starts to happen & then they get teeth!

Hope you gave the other driver some abuse cookie

Still in reflux hell here, Skyla's still puking if I don't keep her upright for at least 1/2 hour after a feed & has now got use to sleeping on me. She slept 1-7 last night but on me on the sofa, all attempts at putting her in the Moses basket before the resulted in puke & screaming.

Minion · 18/01/2015 18:09

I've bought a baby carrier, good god she loves it. Been ratty all afternoon, popped her in it and bang, fast asleep.
This may revolutionise things

cookielove · 18/01/2015 20:00

I thought maybe teething but calpol made no difference. I can see two little teeth on the bottom of his gum and he does hand chew alot but he has been teething for weeks.

furry couldn't really shout at the other driver as they crossed the road and drove down the other side but I did use my horn alot!

OP posts:
willywallace · 18/01/2015 20:08

Great news Min.

Could still be teeth Cookie, I'm not sure calpol helps it all that much.

It's a nightmare Furry. Will she sleep in something more upright like a bouncer or swing?

cookielove · 18/01/2015 20:44

I have teething powder which sometimes works, is there anything you would recommend?

OP posts:
willywallace · 18/01/2015 22:34

I didn't find anything terribly useful. People swear by the powders but I didn't think they made a difference. I think I probably drugged her up with calpol and ibuprofen but I also don't think she was ever that bad with it. If he's a chewer, maybe put a teething ring in the fridge although that never worked for us as she didn't like the feeling of it. How old do they have to be for baby bonjela?

Nessalina · 19/01/2015 05:10

Morning all Smile J was up for a feed at 4:30 - back down and asleep for 5, a new record!! Is it just me or does time in the middle of the night just fly by? I can regularly take 90mins up with him and I don't know where it goes...

Furry that sounds like hell! Confused Has the GP got any ideas?

Cookie, one of my pals swears by the chamomile teething powders, and she's a nurse and not at all woo or in to alternative stuff!

Min - ooh, what have you gone for? I'd love to get J into a carrier.

Minion · 19/01/2015 08:32

I just bought a cheap £25 one from boots, seems to do the trick.
I'm exhausted

My daughter seems to think that 2am is the perfect time to be wide awake again.
I just took her off the husband and went downstairs again.
She's frigging tired so squirms and cries til she can't be arsed fighting it anymore. Then it's bloody feed time and she did it again.
I know he works and everything but just once I'd like him to say ' no love, I'm up with her, I'll get her back down ', instead of lasting one hour and coming to me /letting me take over.
I'm not entirely sure how long I can go on 4/5 hrs sleep.
He keeps saying ' well If she's tired and won't sleep in the day, take her out in the pram', followed by ' If she sleeps, you go to sleep too'
Errr how the fuck am I to do that when I'm out walking her and she wakes up as soon as she's indoors?
She's due a feed in 15 mins. Is it completely awful if I just wait until she starts stirring for one instead of sticking by the 4 hrs rule? Shall I just let her sleep?
I know if someone woke me up for a crappy bottle I'd be pissed off too.

Also is it possible she is sleeping too long in the day so has decided to party at night? 'try not letting her sleep as much in the day ` he says... Fair enough but have you ever managed to keep a newborn awake?

JuniDD · 19/01/2015 08:35

Well done J! DD only woke once and didn't really mean it. I however feel I've been awake all night.

Saw friends yesterday and everyone held the baby. Looked up and one person had shoved a finger in my baby's mouth without asking! It's just not something we do and stresses me out as they did it in NICU when she was born and it really affected feeding. It's fine now and I just said "oh she's never had that" but I don't want anyone to hold her now! Another person kept stroking her head when I was bf her. Man, it was stressful!

I may need a hooya! Wink

JuniDD · 19/01/2015 08:37

Definitely don't wake her! Does she have a reliable nap? Lie down then? Cab you get someone to hold her/walk her while you get a quick hour? xxx
