DH slept in the spare room last night but he's getting a cold so I'll let him off... May have to kill him if me/ DS catch it!! Angry

BFing is pretty much pain free now Wil. I'm actually starting to enjoy it! Apart from when DS does unexpectedly long sleeps and I wake up with rock boobs!

My ass still hurts though Shock

What do you do with their arms with those sleeping bag things? Are they warm enough with just a growie on?

ZylaB · 21/02/2015 10:29

H is in a dinky little sleeping bag, it stops us having to put her feet to the end of anything, just plonk her down where we want her. She's in a long sleeve vest, but if you look on the gro-bag site they do a list for room temp, tog of sleeping bag and what else to wear. It's pretty clear and helpful. H likes to wiggle her legs and arms and wails if she can't so a sleepong bag works well for us.

willywallace · 21/02/2015 11:57

Yeah their arms are fine. We usually have baby in a bodysuit, sleepsuit and sleeping bag when we get around to using them.

Feel like I've wasted a lovely day trying and failing to get rest. Should just have kept up my routine from the week.

FurryScoob · 21/02/2015 12:00

If it helps wil I keep being told babies that don't sleep are more intelligent than sleepers because their taking in more while their awake. No idea who came up with that one but the next Einstein is currently asleep on my shoulder!

I have a helpful DP at home, he decided to get DD dressed this morning, took him 45 minutes but DD was squealing the whole time so she must of enjoyed herself!

willywallace · 21/02/2015 12:40

Hahaahaha I think some sleep deprived woman clutching at straws made up that theory. I am pretty sure if she wasn't sore she'd sleep 24 hours a day so she must actually be reaaaallly stupid Wink .

45 minutes bless him.

I've resorted to the sling to get some peace.

Minion · 21/02/2015 13:18

Oh god, that means I've a got the village idiot then haha.
We've just had our first poonami! Well, I say we. I mean the husband as he's baby sitting whilst I do chores and he watches footy. Love it how she saves them for him. Real father daughter bonding time!

We put R in long sleeve best, sleep suit them sleeping bag, and scratch mits. Seems warm enough I think.

We've decided her active nighttime shenanigans are just her active sleep so just riding it out instead.

willywallace · 21/02/2015 13:25

How have you gone all this time without a poo disaster?! We have about 4 a week.

Minion · 21/02/2015 14:11

She's a very obvious pooer. Her face goes bright purple and she gets that pressure v on her forehead so, so far we've managed to contain it.
I'm sure they'll be more tho. On my watch, no doubt.

RPopz · 21/02/2015 16:11

Haha! Poor Ro. We've only started getting those up the back ones in the last couple of weeks... The bloody car seat is a menace for it.

Is anyone mega into babywearing? (I hate that word!)

willywallace · 21/02/2015 17:13

I hate it too.

She loves the sling. I hate it but put it on because it stops her crying almost instantly and then she just sleeps for hours.

JuniDD · 21/02/2015 17:19

Ha popz, just posted a photo on my FB of our newest sling!! Wink What can I do for you?

RPopz · 21/02/2015 17:59

Haha so I see Juni! Grin I've got a caboo sling which is ok for now. I'm looking at getting a more structured carrier though for going walking. MiniJuni is still prob a bit young but was wondering how people felt about forward facing carrying? I'm trying to decide between an original ergo and an ergo360. The 360 is considerably more expensive but allows ff as well as inward facing and back carry. Apparently ff is a bit contentious amongst the purists though!

JuniDD · 21/02/2015 18:09

Ah. Yep there's loads of info I've seen on my FB group about why ff is BAD. It makes sense to me but they all say the 360 is the best one for ff if you're planning on doing it.

My SIL carries my nephew in a baby Bjorn ff all the time though. I believe they are hard on the back though. Most other structured carriers don't have a Ff option, just wait til six months for a back carry. I'll try to find some links I've read.

JuniDD · 21/02/2015 18:15

ok here's a link to an article on ff. As with anything baby related YOU DECIDE and I am.certainly agnostic on the topic...for what it's worth dd has been in our action baby carrier most of the day and she looks around fine facing in (and sucking the panel Angry Angry )

www.boba.com/blog/nine-reasons-not-to-carry-your-baby-facing-out

RPopz · 21/02/2015 18:23

Yeah I've seen that link too. The thing is I've no idea if I'll want to do ff... I guess it'll depend on ds at the time. In which case it's prob pointless paying extra for the option isn't it??

JuniDD · 21/02/2015 20:23

Heh, I think that's how you start a sling stash... Wink

Today has been so weird. I was so cross about MrJ sleeping all morning but then we met a friend who's having a hard time so that made me appreciate things are pretty good! DD's been asleep since 5.30 so gawd knows what kind of shenanigans she's going to bring later on. About to wolf my dinner and get into bed. see you on the night shift.

Minion · 21/02/2015 20:54

I've a feeling ill be h joining you juni, for some reason, this one won't go into a deep sleep so Everytime we put her down she stirs.
The ten o clock feed will out her.

Right, when you feed your littles do you feed, play, sleep (as in the E.A.S.Y method) or do you feed to sleep? I'm trying the first way lately, not sure if it's better.
When we feed to sleep she really had a good kip. Now it's a little harder to get her down but doable.
I do feed to sleep the two bottles before actual bedtime and the early am feed tho.

willywallace · 21/02/2015 21:07

I'll see you on the night shift I'm sure.

Ha Min, you're mistaking me for someone who has any kind of plan to what they're doing. I pretty much feed her when she squawks for food. If she's tired then she'll sleep who am I kidding, she'll moan and squirm for 40 mins first and if not she'll stay awake.

But I wouldn't worry about feeding to sleep. I did it with MiniWil and stressed about it at the time but it did her no harm at all. She goes down in her bed wide awake with no hassle at all these days.

JuniDD · 21/02/2015 21:20

With the EASY thing...do you have to wake her up after the feed and then play & rock her off? As you may guess, we feed to sleep!

RPopz · 21/02/2015 21:58

Feeding to sleep this week as it's the only way he'll go down... Last week I was putting him in the bed nest full, but awake and he was putting himself to sleep... There's no second guessing these babies!! Confused

willywallace · 21/02/2015 22:09

I think you feed when they first wake up Juni.
This one will not be put into carrycot at the moment. Wakes up within 10seconds. Have had her attached to me all day.

Minion · 21/02/2015 22:38

Right, ten o clock feed has passed, she's sleeping.
Lightly. Arrghh. I may be here some time.
Absolutely knackered this last week with her nocturnal karate.

JuniDD · 22/02/2015 00:32

Heh, feed when wake up, feed to sleep too!

Night feed #1 and she conked out after ten mins. It's a trick, I know.

ZylaB · 22/02/2015 00:45

But how do they know when it's night time if there's lights on?! Day time she will sleep immediately after a feed, all happy and milk drunk. Night time, must be cuddles for 30 or 45mins first, or will scream if you try and put her down, how does she know?!

I'm going to have to start napping during the day arent i? Hmm

JuniDD · 22/02/2015 00:59

Yep, naps during the day are lifesaving. I need to start again but only when I can leave her with my mum or MrJ as she's given up on naps.

Nappy change #1 done. Vomit in bra and poo #2 complete, heading for next nappy change. Starting to hate night time!!
