Oh gross WL! Grin

Hales how's h doing?

We've got hospital appts coming out of our ears this month, I've got two on one day, three in a week! One of them is at 3:45 40 minutes away, do you think I'll be able to pick dd up from school early that day? Should I lie and say she has the dentist?! She already needs next Wednesday off for an appt in Southampton Hmm

ddas · 30/12/2014 17:09

I would just play it safe and say the truth. They should be understanding. It's not like your trying to go on holiday or something.

SpottyTeacakes · 30/12/2014 17:35

Yeah you're right. I've got to go to the royal surrey, have heard parking is a nightmare Hmm

ddas · 30/12/2014 19:11

You can park in the tescos next to it for free and walk up if you get there in time. 5 min walk.

SpottyTeacakes · 30/12/2014 19:13

Oh thanks that's an idea Smile

halestone · 30/12/2014 20:36

H is still poorly her temperature is 39oC without Calpol and 38.6oC with it. Shes sleeping quite abit doesn't want touching when the calpol is wearing off and doesn't want lights on either. Her cough sounds very phlemy and her chest is rattling. She has the odd half hour where she seems ok then feels poorly again.

A family friend has passed away today, he was admitted into hospital with a chest infectionSad

hales the light sensitivity thing is a bit worrying, might be time to have her looked over by a medical type?

halestone · 30/12/2014 23:13

I'm seeing how she is tonight then will probably be booking an appointment for her 1st thing tomorrow xxx

OP posts:
MrsNutELFa · 31/12/2014 10:41

Hales I hope H is ok. Any light sensitivity and I think I'm with Pidj, I'd be off to get it looked at ASAP.

I'm need to make a cake for DS. I've decided it will be chocolate... I might be lazy though and just decorate it with icing and buttons. Grin Well, he'll love it and that is the most important part!

halestone · 31/12/2014 12:49

H seems over the worst, she vomited last night and doesn't seem as bad today. Her voice is hoarse but she won't shut up and her temperature is back to the high side of normal. Normally the light sensitivity would make me get her checked out straight away but all my family have been the same with this bug.

Dp has now got it, i've just woke him up as hes not in work tonight and he wants to go back to sleep. Which in a ideal world he could but H has been crying for him for days and shes still crying now. I'm knackered from having very little sleep since the weekend so hes gonna have to lie on the couch and suck it up.

SpottyTeacakes · 31/12/2014 14:11

Hales glad she's feeling better. Good for you making dp get up Grin go have a rest. When dd was ill dh stayed home with both dc whilst I worked and he came down with it that day. He said it was awful making them lunch etc whilst he was ill.

halestone · 31/12/2014 16:16

Hope you all have lovely nights tonight and that the New Year brings you happiness.

I am just on my way to work. So won't get chance to say it later.

OP posts:
ddas · 31/12/2014 17:59

Wishing everyone a very happy New Year's Eve and hoping 2015 is a good one for everyone. As I'm not working this evening I must admit this year I may be asleep at midnight!

PurplePidjingThroughTheSnow · 31/12/2014 19:36

Glad she's ok hales

Nut make it in a bowl and turn it into a hedgehog with buttons for spikes?

WL hope you're coping ok Thanks

I won't see midnight. Have Wine though. R has been going on all day about the race cars for Bampar - it's my dad's birthday tomorrow and we've got him Scatextrics. I can't wait :o

WLmum · 31/12/2014 23:45

Thanks pidj. FYI - people being nice makes me cry.
nut I was going to say hedgehog too. Always a winner in our house.
Really hope there's not a huge volley of fireworks to wake the dds - could do without 5 in the bed tonight (although they are getting lots of extra cuddles atm. They are being so good)

WLmum · 01/01/2015 00:09

It's 2 in the bed for now - DH not come up yet and T woke so it's just me and my baby. I'm enjoying it as I do miss our quiet booby snugs - it's been about 10 days and she still asks everyday, poor baby.

halestone · 01/01/2015 14:08

WL how many ended up in your bed?

DsD spent quite abit of last night vomiting and now has a temperature to go with it. I've put her in the bath and sent her back to bed with DVDs on the laptop.

SpottyTeacakes · 01/01/2015 17:26

What a lovely step mum you are hales Smile hope your house is bug free soon.

We've had a lovely day out for lunch with our friends and back to theirs for coffee. We've decided to go to Disneyland all together in May (just the weekend) which will be nice as we're not having a proper holiday this year.

Ds is eating an orange, well chewing each segment then spitting it out Hmm I suppose he's still getting some goodness, right?!

MrsNutELFa · 01/01/2015 18:31

Spotty Orange is a weird texture so maybe he is just getting to grips with it? DS has tried a slice of clementine almost every evening over the last two weeks. He is almost eating it but it isn't a favourite food Smile

hales poor dsd hope she feels better soon. You sound really lovely and patient with her.

WL I hope you had a lovely time with your mum and family. Your DH sounds fab. I'm wishing you all the best for 2015. Thanks

We had loads of fireworks going off all around us last night. It's what they do here I still think they are mental though DS slept right on through it was fantastic!

He had a great time today although part of me wants to celebrate his birthday a month later AIBU?

SpottyTeacakes · 01/01/2015 18:56

Of course not Nutella Wink

Ds used to eat oranges really well?! Maybe these ones are a bit tough. Tbf I would probably do the same if I could get away with it Grin

Barbeasty · 01/01/2015 21:34

Happy new year everyone.

We went to a pub for a lovely lunch today. DD ate all her mash, unlike the mash I made yesterday which both DC refused.

A has been in pants for the last 3 days, now we're all feeling a bit better and up to it! Yesterday was dry, and today was dry until we got back from the pub and DH fell asleep in front of Planes and let A wet himself 3 times....

It doesn't help that A hates the potty and will only use the toilet. He can't get on or off on his own, so one of us has to help, and it's so hard to tell if he does anything. Going ok though, so hopefully this is it.

Hope everyone is well soon and that we all have better 2015s than 2014s.

halestone · 01/01/2015 22:20

Nutella Happy Birthday to T, hope he had a lovely dayThanks

Spotty, H only eats the skin on orangesHmm

Beasty well done to A he's done so well.

And i am definitely not a good step mum i try to treat her the way i treat H, but sometimes i whinge to my family about how hard it is. My DsD comes from a very different background to what i come from and it raised far differently to how me and DP plan to raise H.

OP posts:
WLmum · 01/01/2015 22:24

hales you do sound like a great step mum. She's a lucky girl.
Only 2 in the bed as by the time DH came up I'd put T back in her cot and the other 2 slept through.
We're off to see sir Justin in the panto tom - dm bought us tickets for Xmas and was going to have T for us but luckily mil is coming to look after dm and T.
spotty I think the citrus fruit is a bit tough atm - when they're thin skinned my 3 will wolf them but are reluctant atm.

WLmum · 01/01/2015 22:25

beasty that's awesome toilet progress. T is still nowhere near.

ddas · 01/01/2015 22:39

wlmum that's lovely of your mil. How's your dm doing?
Hope 2015 brings better news.

hales can't imagine being a step mum is ever an easy job but you cannot do anymore than treat her as you would h and that's such an important thing.

Can you guys believe our thread has been going for over 2 years now! One day we will really have to have a rl meet up to put faces to names.
