Well done H.

A didn't nap today, so started rubbing at the pox spots on his neck at dinner time. Otherwise he's been absolutely fine.

DD has been amazing this weekend. Yesterday she had to canter on a horse without holding anything. She was scared but did it. Then today after a fantastic swimming lesson she was asked to try the next level where parents don't go in. She was so scared she was in tears, but she did it. I was so proud. Somehow ended up giving her the Doc McStuffins dress up outfit that's meant for her birthday in June.

MrsNutella · 29/03/2015 21:45

Beasty that sounds sweet, about your DD. Glad A hasn't been itching too badly. I think both my dc's have been immunised against the pox... Actually I couldn't tell you what DD has been immunised against! She has had her jabs and I know she didn't get the Rotovirus vaccine but that's actually about it Confused I normally only look at the little graph showing how giant she is.

hales I used to work in London and knew someone who almost ran down Robbie... Well done to H for behaving so well.

Today has been long! It rained alllll day Sad and we really couldn't think of somewhere remotely interesting to take DS that wouldn't have involved a lot of mud. Yea we possibly could have taken him to one of the local play areas but we would have been there on our own Sad and that gets a bit boring.

What do you do with little ones that need to run off some energy outside when the weather is really awful? I did take him out for a run around, we played chasing bubbles that I blew for him. It was great until he started looking like he was going to take a swim in the puddles. Then it was time to go home.

DeladionInch · 29/03/2015 21:47

I let him swim in puddles!

MrsNutella · 29/03/2015 21:50

I've done that he also had a little swim in a duck pond once the carrying home a very cold wet boy is not easy either though Blush

halestone · 29/03/2015 22:13

Do they have soft play over there Nutella? I like taking H swimming at the moment she is so excited about it and it wears her out

Beasty well done to DdThanks i hope A's spots go soon it must be awful for him.

MrsNutella · 29/03/2015 22:22

No they don't. Well, there are a couple, not on the scale or anything like as good as what's on offer in the UK. But we have been told not to bother going to one of the two local ish ones because it is dirty and run down.

We also don't have a decent pool nearby. We've tried out about five different pools (I'm a very keen swimmer) and honestly I don't have an urge to go back to any of them. They haven't been updated or refurbished in a very long time. It's kind of endemic here in the local area "ooohhhh you can't repair/upgrade/ improve that thing, it'll make it really expensive!" Argh. Sorry. Just feeling a bit stuck. When we lived in the south we had a amazing pool nearby that was clean, modern and cheaper than the pools here Confused

WLmum · 29/03/2015 22:50

Golden anniversary - amazing! Flowers

halestone · 29/03/2015 22:55

Nutella that does sound crap and i agree with you toddlers are so much more hard work when bored.

WL i am very lucky as i still have both sets of grandparents who now both reached their Golden Wedding Anniversarys.

WLmum · 29/03/2015 23:23

nutella I do crafty stuff, indoor gym - e.g. lay out yoga mat, forward roll here, jump over cushion, star jumps, etc, baking, play doh, messy painting followed by a long bath, hide and seek, With older dds a treasure hunt works brilliantly. We often resort to dancing around though.

WLmum · 29/03/2015 23:24

Awesome hales, give them a kiss and a squeeze from me. I haven't had any gps for about 15 years :-(

ThreeFrazzledFandangos · 30/03/2015 00:29

Hello everyone.

That's so crap Nutella. Is there an aquarium? J ran for miles round the sealife centre.

Shopping centre with a pet store?

SpottyTeacakes · 30/03/2015 04:58

My grandparents will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary in the next few years I'm also lucky to have both sets of grandparents still. Up until last year I also had a great grandma.

Nutella that's rubbish it rained all day here too and was so windy next doors fence blew over.

Wow beasty dd is doing really well. Hope a just has a mild case of cp.

We've got things planned most days this easter. Tomorrow (well today) were going to the garden centre as they've got a free egg hunt and egg decorating competition on.

I can't sleep. Dd us up because she wet the bed. Pretty sure she just couldn't be bothered to get out of bed Angry

Barbeasty · 30/03/2015 08:24

His face is covered this morning. He can't have more than 30 spots on the rest if his body, and more than that on one side of his face. All over the top and bottom eye lids of one eye, then a cluster covering halfhis forehead and down to his ear.

The poxclin must work though, he was going through his nursery bag trying to get the medicine this morning. No way he'll take the piriton though.

Feeling a bit guilty that I'm leaving him with MIL today and tomorrow, and need to remember to cancel his holiday club place for Wednesday and Thursday. Nearly £70 down the drain!

ddas · 30/03/2015 11:44

Beasty Ouch to the £70. At least during dd's holidays so you have childcare. Hope they all scab over quickly.

nutella indoor obstacle works well for us too. Think I get more out of breath than kids though! Swimming hard with 2 kids as guessing it's the same as here- they won't let you in unless oldest child over a certain age. Makes sense safety wise but rules out an activity on weekdays.

No grandparents left here either :(

Seems lots of places have stuff on this Easter. Going to have a look for tomorrow.

halestone · 30/03/2015 12:30

Aww Beasty i hope they don't itch him too much. Thanks

H woke up at 9:30pm last night and went back to bed at 2am, i finally fell asleep at 4am stupid nausea she woke at 5am. I put her in my bed and she leaked through her nappy at 6am. Full bed change and flip the mattress over ensued back to sleep at 7:30 am. Up at 10:45. So abit of sleep but i feel like death warmed up and shes full of beans.

We've been at the garden centre this morning. Did an egg hunt, played in the play area then lunch at the restaurant. I just had coffee and cake Grin. Ds is now in bed and dd is doing some craft stuff.

MrsNutella · 30/03/2015 13:50

hales congrats to your grandparents! And sorry H gave you such a bad night ThanksBrew

Thanks for the ideas ladies! I will definitely try some out.

Confused I'm really glad we only need to entertain DS at the weekend. I'm looking forward to either moving in the next couple of years... Possibly a bit drastic... or him reaching an age where we can do more stuff.
The weather here is crazy at the moment. But right now we have a bit of blue sky, yay!Smile

WLmum · 30/03/2015 15:32

Ouch hales. Stick a DVD on and catch a quick nap on the sofa?
spotty nice! I need to stop with the cake - all the weight I lost last year is merrily marching back.
nutella just a few more weeks to get through til the weather is more reliable. What about a small indoor trampoline? You can get them here super cheap.

SpottyTeacakes · 30/03/2015 15:34

Same here WL. But I didn't have lunch so that makes it ok, right?!

ThreeFrazzledFandangos · 30/03/2015 18:55

Ugh this clock change is not going well.

Last night was a ducking nightmare and just said bedtime to DS and he looked outside and said no.

I can't cope if he's up til 9 again tonight!

utopian99 · 30/03/2015 19:44

We put the blackout blinds up pronto yesterday, frazzled, not sure if that would help? I remember how unfair it felt going to bed when light when I was little

Like Nutella I'm looking forward to O being older to do more indoor stuff like craft and boardgames. We do make the most out of our/the spare room beds though for diy soft play/hide and seek/etc. O can also play for hours with his now enormous train set but he has a bit of a love-hate relationship with it, so not always stress free!

He's been a bit sad at going to school last week but practically skipped in today. I printed off some of the Paris photos with good shapes in them and wrote the names/drew them in (their theme for the term at nursery,) so was keen to show them it seems. Smile

MrsNutella · 30/03/2015 21:53

My rule of thumb for craft activities at the moment is that if it takes longer to set up than getting out a set of pens it's already taking longer than the actual activity. Drawing usually consists of me having to draw trains and him scribbling. If I get to draw two trains it has been a long drawing session Grin

He loves his train set. I build him a little track and then he plays with it and takes it apart and throws the bits around or maybe builds himself a new track.
I will look for a trampoline and maybe invest in some mats for rainy days.... I think an obstacle course would be a very good plan!

ThreeFrazzledFandangos · 30/03/2015 23:25

He has really good blackout curtains utopian and his blinds will be fitted next month.

There's a massive picture window in the living room though so he refuses to even go upstairs when it's so light! Summer will be fun!

halestone · 31/03/2015 01:25

who needs sleep anyway? Not H apparentlySad

Utopian is O writing letters now? He is such a smart boy Grin I've tried showing H but she shows no interest yet.
