Just wrote a long message on the old thread only to have it not post because we'd filled it.

We really ought to do less chatting and more sleeping Wink

And I don't think I've ever washed any fruit for her lazy mother!

MrsGSR · 24/01/2015 20:13

Ha! Now that I think about it, L has eaten mud, coal and an assortment of other things she probably shouldn't and I didn't really think about it! In my defence, L was up until 2am this morning, so maybe my tiredness has made me lose all perspective.

MrsGSR · 24/01/2015 20:14

Thank you all!

TobyLerone · 24/01/2015 21:32

MrsG, I wash all fruit and veg and my mother laughs at me for it. She's never washed any.

book, P may be a slaphead, but she's a really cute one!

nature, I can't imagine that feeling. I think I'm going to be forced to BF M til she goes to uni!

M has had a temperature all day, and has been a bit snotty and grizzly and clingier than usual. I've given her Calpol but it doesn't seem to be helping much. It's not super high -- top end of 38C, so I'm just keeping an eye on her.
I'm just so sick of everyone being ill! I've had a sore throat again for about a week, this is M's 3rd lot of snot/temp etc in about the last 6 weeks...it's shit!

felix that's so adorable!

nature sympathy hug, lovely. You've done such a fab job, BFing all this time. Celebrate your achievement.

toby poor M, and poor you, hope she feels brighter soon.

MrsG A nicked some of my dark Toblerone earlier. Then howled when I wouldn't give her the rest of my chunk. I think unwashed fruit is the least of your worries... At least it's healthy!

FelixFelix · 24/01/2015 23:00

Having hair is a pain in the arse. She's taken to wiping her sticky hands on it after she's eaten. Gross.

Nature you've done amazing to bf her for so long. You should be very proud of yourself Smile

I've never ever washed fruit Blush

MerryPops · 25/01/2015 07:21

Another non fruit washer here, oops!

Sorry that we still have a lot of poorly babies. A still is coughing and sneezing, it needs to go away now. Both me and dh seem better so I'm hoping that plus a week away from nursery might give him some respite.

Have to pack for hols today. Trying not to stress and have made a big old list, but I will obviously forget something!

felix S hair looks lovely, although I get how it could be annoying. A had a rather bushy do so had it chopped at the hairdressers on Fri, he was as good as gold with much rice cake bribery

Have a good Sunday everyone

TobyLerone · 25/01/2015 08:21

Ha! felix, M does exactly the same -- wipes her hands in her hair when she's eating. It's gross.

Awful night here. M's temperature hasn't come down and she's been in with us since 2am. I feel.like I haven't slept at all.

Hope she's better soon Toby.

BookTart · 25/01/2015 13:49

Poor M Sad Is it just a temperature, or is she poorly with it?

I was hoping this nap nightmare I'm having at the moment would stop when we got out of the Wonder Week leap. It hasn't. I just spent an hour settling her for what will doubtless be a 30 minute nap. It is really getting me down now, as is the 5.45 wake up. I think still having this sodding sinus thing isn't helping my mood, but I've just got no patience with her at the moment. Poor P, I'm a horrible, shouty mum. I wanted to be a nice calm parent (like Flop in Bing Smile)

TobyLerone · 25/01/2015 14:17

She's a bit snotty but that seems to be it. Finally managed to bring her temperature down this morning and it certainly made her happier. We're off out for a late lunch in a bit so I'll give her a bit more Calpol before we go to try to keep it down.

Naps are a nightmare for us, too. I've gone back to feeding her to sleep and then holding her, which is frustrating. When we go to our music class on Fridays, we walk there as it's very local. On the way back she falls asleep and usually stays asleep in the pushchair for a good hour or so when we get home. The relief of having two hands for that time is immense, so I think I'll try it every day and see how that goes.

Sorry M is poorly toby. I hope she is better soon.

I have to say I have given up on naps. I know he will crash on his own at some point after lunch so I just wait until he does. Blush

N has had D&V since friday. Not fun.

pumpkinsweetie · 25/01/2015 21:14

Haven't posted here in a while, waves to everyoneSmile

Hi Fire sorry to hear about BeccaSad

Baby pumpkin had her 1st birthday a few weeks ago, she's a lazy moo, she has only just started crawling last month and sitting unattended.
She had a lovely little teapartySmile

Naturegirl82 · 25/01/2015 21:49

Hi pumpkin

altered hope N is better soon. That can't be fun for you.

Toby hope M is feeling better as well.

book it's tiring being a mum at the best of times but when you aren't feeling 100% it's so much harder. I feel like I spend my entire day saying no to O sometimes.

So O decided today she was going to climb the stairs. She's been doing one or two steps for a while but just hasn't been interested. But today I was upstairs and leant over the bannister and she saw me and shot up the stairs (with Dh supervising from behind) as she wanted to give me a cuddle Grin

First night of going to bed with no bf and it was fine. No more tears than usual. It's amazing how sad it makes her getting ready for bed.

So my stupid act of the day. Tried to get my boots out from the jungle cupboard under the stairs, stepped barefoot on an upturned plug and launched myself with full body weight into the end of the handle bars of Dh's bike straight into the bump. Means I have to have an extra anti-d jab tomorrow. I've such a busy week at work I could really have done without that Sad

AMillionNameChangesLater · 25/01/2015 23:14

Anyone else not particularly liking their child right now?

Ds1 and Henry share a room. It had been fine, but Henry keeps waking up about 11 ish for the last two weeks, which wakes up ds1. He wants to eat food. He doesn't need to eat in the middle of the night. For tea tonight (5) he had a massive bowl of porridge, and 2 bananas, and then drinks. I think he's just got bad habits.

So tonight we're on hardcore parents. Ds1 is in our bed, joy, and Henry right now is wailing in his "I'm really angry with you" way while also going quiet at intervals to see if we come. I can't do this anymore. When we pick him up he's fine until he realises we aren't going downstairs, which means he isn't getting food. So gets hysterical anyway.

Tomorrow he goes into his own room. Or at least, I want him too. Dh isn't as sure.

alteredimages · 25/01/2015 23:30

Oh no nature. Those anti D jabs are not fun. O's hug sounds really cute though. Smile

Felix, I forgot to say in my last post that S is gorgeous! Almost made me want another girl. But then I remembered DD and sleep. Grin

The Burns' night smileys have just reminded me what day it is. I forget every single year now that 25th of January has another meaning.

Right after my last post DD started vomiting too and kept going for a couple of hours. N's diarrhoea has increased and he is vomiting even water so we are waiting for a delivery guy from the pharmacy to give them anti emetic injections. Sad If they still can't keep water down after an hour they will have to go on drips.

alteredimages · 26/01/2015 19:36

Oops, I seem to have killed the thread. Confused

Both kids seem better today, though unimpressed at not being allowed yoghurt, milk and cheese. N is refusing to eat at all in protest, but the diarrhoea is calming down now hopefully. DD is watching Disneyland Paris videos on youtube and telling us we are very naughty for leaving Paris and she is going on the aeroplane to see her Tadcu. Sometimes I rather wish she would. Blush

AMillionNameChangesLater · 26/01/2015 21:33

Kids are tough at the best of times. I told dh about me singing Tiny Bastard to Henry. He feels the same way.

TobyLerone · 26/01/2015 21:36

Glad baby pumpkin had a nice birthday :)

Hope the anti-d wasn't too bad, nature. How's the non-BFing going?

Did you have a better evening, million?

Glad your babies are feeling better, altered. Poor things :(

M had another awful night last night. She was in with us all night and her temperature wouldn't come down again. Eventually after another dose of Calpol at around 4am she cooled down a bit and slept properly for a few hours. She's been up and down today, but is in her own bed for now.

OP posts:
TobyLerone · 26/01/2015 21:36

We've had a mixed bag. Henry napped for an hour today, that's it. Then he wouldn't go to sleep before 9pm. So I'm hoping that's him done for the night.

Meanwhile ds1 is asleep in our bed because he needed to be asleep before Henry ended up being asleep. I'm not looking forward to moving him when we go to bed.

It's my birthday next week, so next Friday we have friends coming over and then the next day I'm getting dressed up and going out. I'm pretty excited about dancing all nigh! The boys are at my brothers for the whole weekend. I cannot wait!

The weekend after my nephews are staying, so there will be five kids under four at mine. I've just found out dh is away the first night as he's got pre-booked tickets he forgot about. That should be fun

alteredimages · 27/01/2015 07:38

Hope M is on the mend now toby. All these back to back illnesses are really no fun.

I spoke too soon, N was sick again in the night. It was just bm as well, so I cant really stop giving it to him. Hoping it was just a one off. DD seems fine though. My stomach, on the other hand, is feeling distinctly dodgy.

Sounds like you have a busy couple of weeks coming up million. Hope you enjoy your birthday and good luck with the 4 under 4s!

alteredimages · 27/01/2015 07:40

Argh! Just seen there are 5 of them. Grin

BookTart · 27/01/2015 09:21

How's M today toby?

Hope N is a bit brighter altered.

Yesterday's afternoon nap too an hour to settle her for, and lasted 20 minutes. I would have taken her out in the car but the battery is dead so we were just stuck with a walk to Asda. Such fun. I thought at least she'd sleep last night, but she woke twice. The second time DH couldn't settle her and her had a bit of a tantrum about it so I had to go in at 5. I managed to settle her on me and ended up sitting in her room in the dark until 7 with her waking up crying every 10 minutes. Lovely.

I think it might be her milk reintroduction doing it (she woke the night before as well and her nappy was green this morning). She's had a tiny piece of cheese both days, so it seems kind of obvious. I guess we'll have to stop the cheese and see if she settles. Poor P though. Life with no cheese Sad
