Just wrote a long message on the old thread only to have it not post because we'd filled it.

We really ought to do less chatting and more sleeping Wink

Bit of a WWYD. A friend of mine is pg, I've not seen her for a while but have chatted to her generally over fb. She's posted that she's ill in bed with a lemsip which I'm pretty sure you shouldn't have when pg. Would you send her a private message and look like a completely interfering busybody or just not say anything. She is the loveliest lady so I think would take it in the way it's meant but I don't want to come across as condescending.

I hope the poorly babies are better soon. O has started to cough a little today so I'm hoping she doesn't get ill.

TobyLerone · 28/12/2014 21:50

I wouldn't say anything. I didn't take well to people trying to tell me what was best for me in pregnancy.

AMillionNameChangesLater · 28/12/2014 21:53

I wouldn't say anything. She'd have to have loads surely before it did any harm?

Naturegirl82 · 28/12/2014 21:59

I know you're right and I've not sent a message, but I just felt guilty for not saying anything. Not sure about how much you'd have to take to do any harm though, but I think the decongestant you shouldn't have when pg or bf. I'm very risk averse in pg so I think that's why it's playing on my mind.

FelixFelixNavidad · 28/12/2014 23:31

I didn't know that about lemsip! I wouldn't say anything either as its hard to get your tone across on a written message rather than face to face, so it might be taken the wrong way.

Naturegirl82 · 29/12/2014 06:36

Yep Felix it's because the decongestant part of it causes blood vessels to constrict so can reduce the amount of blood crossing the placenta. Apparently two doses when breastfeeding can causes issues and supply to drop for the same reason.

Argh having sleeping issues. Don't know if it's just because of my throat or just stupid pregnancy sleep. Been awake on and off during the night and now I'm listening to O cough through the monitor Sad

TobyLerone · 29/12/2014 09:04

Argh. Crappy night.

Flipping heck - all these poorly babies. Big hugs to them all (and their very patient mummies)
The dementors are going home today hurray! Such a miserable pair of buggers I have never met. They spent half their time just staring at poor little puggle which freaks him out- not interacting or playing, just staring. And staring when I was breastfeeding which I hate - and after BFing for a year I think I;m pretty sanguine about it. Spent much of the time just zoning them out and playing with little puggle. Did get cross when FIL announced that "of course there were babyfood jars when ours were small but THEY'RE JUST SO BAD FOR BABIES ALL FULL OF SALT AND SUGAR" at huge volume when we were out for lunch and little puggle was having an ellas kitchen pouch (and half my lunch) Apparently I should just liquidise everything. Still. Even though he's been eating corn on the cob for 7 months.
Fuckwits. MIL is passive aggressive and a sulker, FIL is a boer and a bore. AND DH wouldn't let me watch Homeland last night as PIL wouldn't enjoy it (for that read there might be sexing and fecking) as he'd previously insisted on having Top gear on and refused to ask his parents if there was something else they'd rather watch (they mainly do sitting in silence so TV is far preferable!)
AND breathe......They're back at the end of February too. Pray for snow people

BookTart · 29/12/2014 09:57

puggle you have the patience of a saint. We get the STARING from PILs too, it drives me crazy. P just gives them evil glares, which is excellent. She does a great withering stare, does P.

Poor O and M. I hope you all manage to catch up on some sleep today. I know this is unlikely Brew. P is sleeping at night, but her naps have gone to pot. DH is just sitting in her room with her on his chest at the moment. I look forward to breaking this habit when he goes back to work...

DH has decided he wants to go shopping today. He got "me" Scalextric for Christmas, and now apparently "I" want some new bits for it Angry

Swannykazoo · 29/12/2014 10:22

book I love it. I hope you have planned something lovely and sparkly for DH's birthday.

TobyLerone · 29/12/2014 10:44

We're going shopping today too. So that'll be fun.

Puggle, you are a legend.

Naturegirl82 · 29/12/2014 12:15

Oo we are shopping today to. New shoes for O as I think her current ones are now too small and car seats! The joy! Really don't know where to start with them! Might have to treat myself to a Costa just to make up for it!

Dh and I have just blitzed the house for the arrival of my family later. It was filthy! Blush

Angelesque · 29/12/2014 12:22

Nature your post has just given me permission to buy F some shoes. I've been desperate to buy him some but people keep telling me he's too young... But if that was the case WHY WOULD THEY MAKE STAR WARS VANS IN HIS SIZE? I think he needs them.

Naturegirl82 · 29/12/2014 14:59

angel you buy whatever you want. Smile We didn't end up getting her any as the shop we looked in didn't do walkers that small.

Also didn't look much at car seats as they have advised us O still has quite a bit of room left in the maxi cosi so may be able to wait till she is old enough to go forward facing.

I did buy a karcher window cleaner though Grin

TobyLerone · 29/12/2014 15:31

We now have M's clothes for the entire next year, and finished buying her birthday presents.

Good work toby. I used to do that for DD but I can't be arsed anymore. Blush

I need to buy shoes for N now he is walking though and have them sent out.

Just ordered a watch for DH which looked good online but a bit crap in the pic DB just sent me. Not sure whether to send it back and get the really nice watch that is double the price or make do.

I am amazed at your patience puggle. They sound like hard work.

DF and my aunt are supposed to be coming to visit in feb. DB is going to send a blu ray player and an xbox 360 with them for the kids, which is lovely of him. I think I will enjoy them more than DD and N though!

FelixFelixNavidad · 29/12/2014 18:32

Angel S had a tiny pair of Vans when she was 3 months old Grin they were ridiculous but looked cute. I got her some sheepskin booties for Christmas too but they keep her feet warm so I can get away with it.

Puggle I don't know how you put up with it Shock

Toby what have you got her for her birthday? I've bought all of her clothes in the next size up in the mothercare sale for really cheap too.

TobyLerone · 29/12/2014 19:12

We have her a drum kit floor mat, a Lost My Name book, an ELC Noah's Ark thing and some sort of linking shapes thing.

I love getting all of her stuff in the sales. It means that she'll hopefully have some slightly different things to the other babies by the time she comes to.wear them.

Angelesque · 29/12/2014 19:17

Aah Toby we got F the list his name book for Christmas - gorgeous, isn't it?

nature felix right, I am ordering them tonight Grin

TobyLerone · 29/12/2014 19:28

It really is gorgeous. DH took some convincing to spend so much on a book, but we're glad we did.

OP posts:
TobyLerone · 29/12/2014 19:31

Re the shoes, I know a fair bit about feet and wouldn't personally put proper shoes on a baby who wasn't confidently and properly walking, but baby shoes are just SO CUTE!

OP posts:
Naturegirl82 · 29/12/2014 20:11

We only have walking shoes for O, never really bothered with other ones. Only bother with shoes if we are actually going out somewhere she will need them otherwise they just become expensive projectiles! Although I have maybe changed my mind about cruising shoes. We didn't bother for O as I thought they were a waste of money but it was a big adjustment for O to get used to the heavy walkers. We used to put them on her feet and she'd give us this look of utter despair!

Feel bad, my parents are up visiting and I've just had to come to bed as I'm so tired.

Angelesque · 29/12/2014 23:18

I've ordered two pairs. Ridiculous. But they're TOO CUTE.

You are all saints for putting up with the in laws over the festive (ha!) season... Hope they all bugger off soon so you can ring in 2015 in peace...

Naturegirl82 · 30/12/2014 16:37

Had my 12 week scan today. Still a wriggly little baby in there and all looked good Smile

FelixFelix · 30/12/2014 18:45

Nature that's good news Smile

Just got back from my parents house. It's so nice to be home finally after a week visiting everyone. What are you all doing for new year? I think an Indian takeaway is on the cards here.
