How long does it take for wide preggo hips to go back to normal? Side on I don't think I look that horrendous but then I try to pull pre-preggo jeans/trousers on and I can't get them by my thighs?!
Me your post made me smile, happy that things seem to have turned a corner for you Grin.
Not that I'm complaining too much but I don't know what to do with myself today, H is napping like a "normal" baby might which I'm not used to at all! The washing is up to date but i dare not get into something like cleaning the bathroom or something as I'd need to bring her upstairs with me and she's sure to wake immediately...plus i don't really want to clean the bathroomGrin..

fatpony · 25/11/2014 15:36

goats just cut the feet off the 10.5lb sleep suits that fit and put socks on her?

mrsb87 · 25/11/2014 16:20

goats Dylan is long and we find yes computer the best for length.
I'm in my pre pregnancy clothes, super chuffed I fitted into my skinniest Grin
We actually had a happy smiley hour today...finally there's progress!!

Happytimes31 · 25/11/2014 16:23

Oh I haven't dared to try pre preg clothes am pretty comfy in leggings. Has anyone else just sat on the sofa most of the day (with a sleeping baby) and not seen anyone or been outside?! Terrible but rather nice Smile

fedupofrainydays · 25/11/2014 16:39

kirsti I have the hip thing too. My hips and back just get wider! Last time it went back after 4 ish months

I'm in my fat pre preg clothes but no way near my normal and slim ones becayse of the hip thing.

Missus2ndwife · 25/11/2014 17:00

Since we talking about our bodies pre and post pregnancy - does anyone else's vag area still ache after childbirth? Or this my collapsed pelvic floor reminding me to chase my referral?

I am back into pre pregnancy clothes too but now I want to lose the 2stone extra I've been carrying for 2 years!

Goats - Pip must be tall if JL babygeows are coming up short on her. Have you tried Sainsbury's or Next?

Me - glad you're feeling better. Wink

I really need to find an alternative to drinking so much coffee. I think I've had 5 cups today Blush

Happytimes31 · 25/11/2014 17:08

My excuse is that jeans would be uncomfy with a c section scar and non of my pre preg clothes are bf friendly! Maybe however I am just lazy...

hefner · 25/11/2014 17:40

Goats - H&M clothes have long legs. Generally anything Scandinavian is good, things like polarn y pyret but most of them cost a fortune. I'm lucky that my in laws live in Norway so they can buy clothes that will fit my leggy daughter!

YellowWellies · 25/11/2014 17:44

Mad day - toddlers in the morning, then the shops, home for lunch and back out to soft play. Pushing a hefty toddler and baby wearing Lil makes me regret living up a great big hill!

Kirsti I have got more hour glass figured after both my babies - my hips stayed wider last time for about 12 months and my boobs never shrunk back. My waist even got smaller than before - for a brief window between kids I had my best ever figure a really defined hourglass 8/10 - I'm not sure that'll happen after number two. Especially as I'm the wrong side of 35 this time. I'm currently wearing anything from 8-14 depending on the shop but think realistically I'm a 12. I'm not stressing about my body this time as you do lose the baby shape!

ohthegoats · 25/11/2014 17:48

My hips and chest have grown an inch or so, I'm hoping they go back - I already had a ridiculous hip to waist ratio, at the moment it's stupid, even with a slightly thicker waist.

The sock thing - does anyone manage to keep them on? How? My mum told me to put tights on her, but that's a nappy changing nightmare!

missus no lady garden ache here, not for a month or so. Random other aches - up my abdomen when I did lunges the other day for example. Going back to swimming next week, so will no doubt find other aches.

Sock ons do jjst that. And come in diff colours. Otherwise baby gap socks stay on the best

fedupofrainydays · 25/11/2014 18:02

I also had a better figure between my two! It's all that running around after them (I always thought that was bollocks until I had my crazy son!)
My boobs however are exempt from this - they were not their best!

mrsb87 · 25/11/2014 18:03

Ah we were given socks on! They're great!

YellowWellies · 25/11/2014 18:40

I agree Gap baby socks are the only ones that stay on.

binkybunny · 25/11/2014 18:46

missus yep feel like I've been kicked down there, especially if I've been on my feet a lot. don't know if it's normal but I'm presuming it's related to my epi issues.

goats tights are great, Issy tends to live in hers with a body suit and jumper dresses over, they stretch more than sleepsuits and no problems with nappy changes. she still just fits her up to one month tights but is slowly moving into very baggy 0-3 on everything else.

tattyblue · 25/11/2014 19:19

Does anyone else have days of no confidence? Today I'm seeing guessing everything I do and wondering if I am failing at motherhood- don't play with the baby enough, don't talk to her enough, will end up with asocial feral wolf child etc.

It doesn't help that she seems to be putting all her energy into movement and none of it into smiling. She uses any incline to roll- managed to roll from front to back on the sofa today using only the incline made by me sitting on it, but will she smile? Will she buggery. It makes it feel like she's just desperate to escape.

ohthegoats · 25/11/2014 19:48

tatty hell yes! This evening I was on a mission to keep her awake and happy until boyfriend got home to give her a bath. I spent ages playing on the mat with her, lying on the floor.. and she was all giggly and smiley, clearly loving it.. why don't I do that every day? I do bits, but not enough to make her so happy and cheerful. Shit mum alert.

tattyblue · 25/11/2014 20:02

I think at the moment it doesn't really feel to me like those things make her cheerful. I mean, she's not an unhappy baby really, she's just not happy smiley yet, and she's easily bored into crossness, and she doesn't like not being held. But then I'm like well, maybe that's my fault, because I don't put enough effort in.

ExcitedCJ · 25/11/2014 20:13

Tatty it is totally normal to have lack of confidence & feel like a shit Mum. I am on baby no.2 & I feel like that again. I have been mega busy since last Wed & poor bub has been in the car a lot & I feel awful that I am not playing enough with him or giving him enough time on his tummy or getting him to nap so he is happy & rested.

Missus2ndwife · 25/11/2014 20:34

Oh gosh Tatty, I don't entertain or talk to my baby enough and today, I watched a fellow mommy interact with her bubba and I thought, shit! I'm a really bad mom because I don't do any of that either (apart from cuddle and love my child).
I think it's natural to doubt yourself... We have a whole lifetime ahead of guilt :-/

Pregnantagain7 · 25/11/2014 20:40

Try dividing yourself between four! Actually don't it's bloody hard work and I always feel like I'm not giving anyone enough attention.

I've got three viewings on my house tomorrow how the hell am I supposed to tidy up? Confused

ExcitedCJ · 25/11/2014 20:45

Imagine if you had your baby in Greenland in the summer! It would never sleep!! My bubba was pretty much awake all day & as soon as lights go out he passes out!
For anyone that was interested in a Connecta photo, here is B in the gorgeous Harris Tweed!

Tatty Lil is regularly just carted round in the sling whilst I chase the toddler. Poor thing might end up thinking she's luggage at this rate! Between avoiding toddler meltdowns and keeping them both fed, with clean bums, rested and him taught his numbers and colours, train tracks fixed, stories read, painting and playdough, poor Lil doesn't get much 'play' at all. The world is pretty mind blowing for them at this stage! I'm aiming to delegate baby entertainment to Jonas and just sit back with a Brew . Grin

Tatty- you're definitely not alone with lack of confidence. I'm sure you're a great Mum though and your confidence wobble is unfounded!

Well last night I ended up going to a walk in clinic and came out with antibiotics for a suspected c section infection....I'd thought I was out of the woods after >5 weeks but obviously not!

Then today took DS to the docs because his crying really ramped up a notch and it sounded like pain related crying. We saw a different doctor this time and she thinks he has thrush. I'm not convinced that thrush is the only issue though- his symptoms match reflux ones but she discounted that, especially because "if it was reflux, Gaviscon would have worked" I did gently challenge that but she was a complete battleaxe and made me feel like an idiot/ bad mother Hmm I hope for DS's sake it is just thrush and the drops start to work soon.
