Arrrgh- MiL phoned this am and invited themselves down TOMORROW! eeek. Slack mums half asred housework hour has just happend, now I need to go and cook food for boy for next few days and cake for tomorrow.
Boy was ravenous today and his casoroled veg disapeared V rapidly.
That sleep through was a one off, he's not been toooo bad the last couple of nights tho, 5mins- 35mins of whinging once or twice a night. Good luck friz, wise to wait till dh is around and willing tho

Frizombie · 11/10/2006 21:33

Yep Uni, defo gona wait till he's around next week, just managed to get them both into bed tonight by 8pm.....dd1 trying it on to stay up....dh crawled in last night at 11.15 and was out again at 6.30am...poor love, he's doing it all again today n tomorrow....then has Friday day here until afternoon, when he's off to run an event for the weekend, argh! won't see him until Sunday night
LL, like the house, altho agree with Chelle (and her fab sleeping child!) kitchen a bit greeeeeeen, time for a paint job Will chuck chickpeas at it then dd2 has tried tunafish for 1st time today, not totally sure about it tho, had 4 mouthfuls, whilst pulling faces, before we had to revert to potato, so ??
Can you believe the little madam is now trying to stand up all the time she's only had proper crawling sussed for about 2 weeks.....Chelle is your's trying this too??

Hello,

No time to catch up really as DS1 is home sick and my mum is on her way over the pond on Saturday to 'sort me out'.

DD2 is still not mobile and I am so glad because our house is not baby friendly at all yet. Poor wee thing does like to pull herself to standing though. (Perhaps she will skip crawling as her older sister did?) She is standing in a laundry basket as I type this.

DSs are watching old recorded Time Team video that I found in a box this morning.

Glad to see that you are all lively and chatting. I hope to be able to join you more regularly again in a few weeks once my life is more sorted.

laundrylover · 12/10/2006 11:43

Uni, at you being caught short by the in-laws! Mine once turned up when I was doing bath and bedtime on my own and it had all gone Pete Tonge!! MIL had to stay and miss a meeting so served her right for the bad timing!!
Caddy, glad you are getting some help with your tribe - love the thought of them watching time team! Tilly watched Galapogos with me last week and asked why they ate the tortoises - I said it was because some people ate animals but we didn't 'cos we're veggie. She said she would like to eat cows and pigs!! Won't mention it for while. This week I was telling her what a church was and she asked all about God - erk! I had to compare him to her imaginary friend, Di. This is a sensitive subject as in laws are church goers and we are not religous....
Babies standing up!!!!! Roll over Kiah quick!!!!

UniSarah · 12/10/2006 12:14

Any Saturday Telegraph readers out there? Take a look at the "Active" slot on saturday and you may see a face beilomging to a name you know... ME. Or then again I may have hit the cutting room floor. The mountain uni ride I did on Sunday was also a photo shoot - well the 1st half mile, till the photographer had enough pics and let us go.

Cadmum · 12/10/2006 12:21

LL FWIW DS1 has yet to roll over and he is now 9 years old. I used to lie when the hv asked...

I can't believe that Friz's baby crawls. She was born on the same day as my dd2. (Proof in my mind that there IS a God because she simply cannot become mobile until this house is sorted!!)

Cadmum · 12/10/2006 12:22

Sorry
uni, I missed your post. Wish I had a copy of the paper...(I often forget that the Uni in your name is not for University!)

Frizombie · 12/10/2006 18:38

Uni will it be in the online version?

Caddy this shouldn't scare you as yours is already standing but boy it has me!!....dd2 decided to stand 1st properly today with an audience of the whole of the soft play centre...bar me, as I was colouring elsewhere with dd1 (sigh) friends who were looking after her and the other small ones, rushed to tell me, by which time she'd sat down again but she's done it again once this evening at home using dd's brick bag to drag herself up, then grabbed dd1's small chair for balance , and then tried a 2nd time, but as she tried it on the fireguard, and its not attached to the wall, it ended up on top of her
Your sounding a bit more sane today, hope your doing ok, like you say, your mum will sort you out eh!

LL n Astro how are you girls feeling today?

UniSarah · 12/10/2006 20:49

cadmum, worry not, its this coming saturday... I might have to flick thro to see if my pics there I've not bought teh ST before.
STANDING- eeekkkk. please don;t scare me, I havn;t managed to persuade Dh we need to baby proof yet. NO rolling here still, but hes getting closer to pulling up on things, keeps trying in teh bath. boys proto Crawling is still creeping round in circles or backwards.

Had 8 m development cheack today 9 a bit early) and got given A lovely bag of books! 2 nice board books for boy. as a check it was a formality coz we see our HV frequently at sure start groups, so he wizzed through the form and measured Ed and gave us teh books and said ta ta so we got to spend 15 min in the sensory room before baby massage. I appricated it as a nice chill out time in a hectic day.

MiL and FiL have been and gone. phew all breathe again now. I managed to hide in the kitchen coking tea for nearly an hour. Boy V excited all afternoon, then V tired. still he ate well at his first big family dinner time. I have a HUGE bag of hand me downs from his cousins to go through now. some nice stuff ( inc some Osh kosh) some tat. Managed not to argue with MiL this time, def helpos being on MY territiry, and we have invited them for christmas and told them we are going to be here weather they join us or no.

Frizombie · 13/10/2006 08:01

Uni hurrah for successful visit from the outlaws, with no major bickering Its always nice to get bags of stuff to root through as well
Have had friends invite us over for dinner tonight, with dh being away again for the weekend, so will at least get reasonable adult contact early this evening for a bit, before I have to pop the kids to be and no doubt end up on here again lol

Goodmorning.

The upstairs bathroom and the downstairs toilet are clean. I have also washed the kitchen and foyer floors. I thought that my mum should walk into a relatively clean start. I am a fool ... DS2 has just crashed a bowl of strawberry jelly on the floor. The smashed bowl and its contents are covering a four foot semi-circle around the base of the fridge/freezer and are dripping all down the door... That should teach me for being so ambitious!

I will not cry. I will not cry. I will not cry.

DD2 is still in bed (it is 10:18 here) after a rotten night last night and DS1 is still sick on the couch. He has a really high fever and was throwing up again this morning. Poor wee lad.

Hope you are all in better spirits.

UniSarah · 13/10/2006 09:29

ohh cadmum, big hug. take a deeep breath, smile, remind yourself you DO love your kids. does the kitchen smell lovely and jellyish now? Just think... as the floors clean you could have scooped it all back into teh bowl and given to them to eat anyway, no one but you and dd would ever have known... or may be not.

Cadmum · 13/10/2006 09:42

Thanks Uni. Sadly, the shards of bowl in the jelly might be lethal so it will all have to go in the bin...

DS2 was in tears because he was trying to get the jelly for his sick brother who didn't eat with us last night and now there is no more jelly... How sweet is that?!?

I do, indeed love them to pieces and in a few years the house will be immaculate and I will be lonely and miss the good old days of chaos.

Thanks for reminding me to look at the bright side and yes, it does actually smell lovely.

Astrophe · 13/10/2006 12:57

I spmashed a bottle of sticky wine in the under stairs cupboard yesterday - t'was a bugger to clean up (esp as in-laws sat and watched without lifting a finger ) but now smells lovely too!

Hope you are ok now caddy.

Hello to all the rest of you - am trying to lurk and keep up but not much time to post.

Eli is also standing , but has not cracked crawling propperly yet. He can go backwards and moves about by a sort of roll-shuffle-sit-lean-roll combination. We also must child proof...damn the hearth and fire place we never use.

Astrophe · 13/10/2006 12:59

oh, and bess your ds caddy, what a sweetie. Perhaps buy some ready-made jelly as substitute?

Cadmum · 13/10/2006 15:44

Jelly is not so easy to find here... I will have to go the commisary on Monday.

Hello all,
Just catching up with thread whilst waiting for some work to pop into my inbox...
Sympathies for the cleaning ladies - estate agents are coming round on Weds to take photos of the house (ooh you can all nosy on Rightmove -weird!) so am going to let it get into a complete tip and then just blitz it. Weather forecast is good for the weekend so will tidy up my plants etc. We just spent an hour and a half driving round in the sun checking out potential houses whilst shattered kids slept in the back. Current thinking is to try and stay more local so will have to be a smaller house than my dream victorian semi.

Caddy, I'm not worried at all about Kiah's lack of movement - she is just a sitter and thinker! Obviously she is highly intelligent and a lazy arse just like my good self.

The computer lied!!!

Frizombie · 13/10/2006 22:29

LL

Astro, nice n helpful then these outlaws.....

Caddy, {{{Hugs}}} re the jelly incident, I'll pop some in the post to you if you like, just name your flavours?

news tonight re cousins ds, he's taken a turn for the worse, his heart is enlarged and he's stopped breathing for himself, machine doing the job at the mo, praying he pulls around, my heart is breaking for my cousin

OP posts:
CadAVREmum · 14/10/2006 04:39

Friz: I am so sorry about your cousin's DS... I really hope that things turn round for him.

Don't worry about the jelly. My horrid monkeys prefer the North American variety that is pure food dye and sugar. Probably a good thing that it is not readily available. Thank you SO MUCH for always offering to send us nice things. I really will take you up on the offer soon.

CadAVREmum · 14/10/2006 04:42

LL Is there any chance that our DHs are brothers? It sounds like we may have the same in-laws.

Prepare to listen to my tales of woe as they are planning to ruin my Christmas in Vienna.

laundrylover · 14/10/2006 08:58

Oh Friz, I'm so sorry about the baby. Keep us updated and sending cyber hugs to you and your cousin.

Caddy - if we were SILs WE would all be landing on you for Xmas and then you would be stressed!!!

CadAVREmum · 14/10/2006 17:59

LL: I would actually be less stresses about having my SIL land on my doorstep... She has 5 children and doesn't stress about the state of her house EVER!

Anyone who is ever in Vienna is welcome to stay at our house (regardless of its state) anytime!

(I must admit that it currently looks lovely on the ground floor because DH sprang into action as soon as my mum announced her visit... He didn't want her to see how desperate I was... Bless him.
