Ok girls here it is!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Frizbe · 16/02/2007 21:41

Think we need to eh Uni
we've got a dvd by post thing to use, but we've not gotten around to loggin onto it, its only for a month free and we'd no doubt forget to cancel it, so haven't used it yet!

Frizbe · 16/02/2007 21:59

help Uni I think you maybe able to help here?

skibump · 17/02/2007 21:26

So much to catch up on...Booooo for the lurgy, and boooo for sleepless nights. I'm sure I'm not the only one

Astro, we concede the irregular acquisition... award, we're going for the speed class now. 6 and counting in, I think 2 weeks. [yawn]

UniSarah · 18/02/2007 21:17

Lurgy got to Boy yesterday. He turned from a toodler back to a baby and spent the afternoon curled up on my lap, before going to bed early and having a rough night. Thankfuly his temp dropped during teh night. This morning he was firing on all cyclinders again, but faded agin in teh afternoon. Ho hum, don;t think I'll take him swimming tomoz.
Our Manchester trip is off. So won't get to meet any of you March Manc Mums just yet. bro is away and we can't get a full team for hockey able to travel. The down side of having teenagers on the team I guess.
Friz i popped over to the Pg board , but have to say shes being a tad melodramtic. Life changes in sooo many ways when you have a baby and work (like it or no) is one of them.

Frizbe · 20/02/2007 09:55

Uni lol, I've not read the whole thread, just the begining bit, thought it a bit odd getting signed off straight away by work, but then again I guess it depends on your line right??

Sorry to hear boy has been keeping you up with cold, hope he's lots better today

Skibump sorry to hear about the teething, dreading it here as we still have none!!

Went out sunday night, gran had all the kids, marvelous, reminded me why not to drink that damn red stripe rubbish
Saw the Black Keys, kinda 60's psychodelic rock not too bad actually was for a mates birthday, so that coupled with a curry made for a good night out.
Did Butlins with kids yesterday lots of swimming, going on the fair, watching puppet shows, not bad, only complaint really was lack of more entertainment, as last year bob and angelina were on, but we missed Spud in the morning, and there was no one else all day, think part our fault tho, as mon appeared to be a swapover day, so less on......all had fun anyway and thats what counts!

UniSarah · 20/02/2007 21:50

Glad butlinms was fun even with out bob and angelina. I fear I have all that to come, at the mo boy is blissfully unaware of "chracters" (sp?) and brands, tho he does seem slightly interested in diggers and tractors which is probadly my fault for stopping to look at them with him.

Picked up boys 1st b/day press today. What do you guys have planned for your little darlins , ours is having buggy wheels for his trailer.

Our CM is fab. she had sicky boy this morning and STILL said he had been good. Tho he had slept 9am-11 and then wanted to cuddle up and doze and cry for the rest of the morning (He even ate all his lunch for her AGAIN). Its half term here so her ful time toodler isn;t there which is probadly a good thing. her own boys are now 11 and 13 and were firmly attached to the PS2 when i picked lad up at end of morning.

I have acheived at work... hurrah. I have finished teh PAT testing and esential equpment maintenance for teh media centre. Just got the rest of teh building to do now, Dance studio tomorrow, then box office, theatre sound/lights/distro/more lights, more offices.... you get teh picture . Its going to take me bloody months if the tech manager doesn't sort out a 2nd person like he said he wanted to. Still, its paying me by the day.

laundrylover · 20/02/2007 22:46

Evening all, just had a quick catch up and sorry that the boy has succumbed Uni. I'm so pleased that your CM let him cuddle all day as that is just what they want isn't it?

Well, we got the keys to the new house yesterday afternoon but sadly my mum is poorly with a chest infection and then my nanny got taken into hospital with broncho pneummonia today so I had to sit with her and DP had the girls....all in not a lot of work got done. We will just have to move in at weekend in whatever state it's in. I'm beginning to feel like my nan waits to get poorly until my mum is away/ill and I have a really busy week planned! I went back to visit her after bedtime and it was awful - she looked tiny and ancient and kept grabbing me to her. I had to stroke her hair and shush her like I do to Tilly at bedtime.

I'll try to catch up again later in the week...

Astrophe · 20/02/2007 23:08

LL , poor Nan and you. Hope your week gets a bit better.

Uni, glad you found a fab CM, must be stressful at first, I know I was very anxious about DD at nursery when she started too. Noodles arrive yet? I sent them last Tuesday 2nd class tho...

Friz, who/what/where is Butlins?

Teeth are keeping us up all night atm, added to DD nightmares about a tiger in the bathroom, makes me wonder why I bother going to bed!

DS is properly walking now...ie, he will occaionally walk a few steps to get somewhere even without DH and I calling and coaxing like mad people! Hurrah! Bring on Toddlerhood I say! (And I say this because I imagining its easier to have two toddlers than a toddler and a baby...heaven help me if I'm wrong!)

We are getting DS: An Ikea push along trolley and a big wooden toy truck, and some books and a paddington bag for DD to give him. My folks are buying one of those sloping track things where the cars roll down and flip over (huh? even I don't understand that!) online from ELC and getting it sent to him. We are having a party in our church hall - birthday tea for 15 or so kids (our friends' children) and lots of playdoh for the kids to play with and take home, plus a party bag full of playdoh cutters.

Hmmm, really must start making this playdoh actually.

skibump · 21/02/2007 13:55

LL, poor you I'm sure you'll just be glad to get into your new house though, whatever the state

Uni, do you have any other dc's or is ds first/only?

Still not sure what we're doing for a pressie for ds. We're off to France for that weekend with PIL, (thus sidestepping the children's party thing) so we're definitely not taking anything big with us . My parents have already got him a little tricycle (reduced in Mothercare) which he adores - could hardly be persuaded to let go of the demo model in the shop. We might get him a swing or slide but might not quite be here for the actual day....I'm assuming he won't notice this stuff yet

skibump · 21/02/2007 13:55

btw, did you see the pfb thread the other day? Priceless

UniSarah · 21/02/2007 19:30

ski- Boy is an only, why do you ask?

No noodles yet, unless they have landed in a welly boot rather than on the door mat, I'll check the wellys later ;-)
birthday parties sound very adventurous. We have been invited to one next week, it is a joint 1st and 4th for a pair of brothers.
righto, must go and sort out an invoice for work to end of feb...

Frizbe · 22/02/2007 15:25

Astro your making playdoh! wow your a domestic goddess please don't tell my dh you can make it, as I'm happy buying it....(whistles to self sauntering off sideways)

Butlins is at the dredded Skegness, but its good off season for something to do for the day worth it for the pool defo and not totally full of chav's either think it'll be butlins.com on da net. You just buy a day ticket on the gate on the way in, but follow the signs for residents in off season, ignore the day signs, as you'll end up in middle of nowhere!

Uni, great stuff re achieving at work and soo nice that childminder could and would happily cuddle poorly boy, hope he's feeling better now?

LL, hope mum and gran are on the mend? congrats on the house hope the move isn't too stressful?

Been upto eyeballs with SS and half term this week, trying to entertain the lot of them ss now back at his mums, so just the two again, phew! done soft play today and now dh is taking over from me (not working due to weather) and I'm off to meet the electrican at my friends house, to get it into a rentable state again!

skibump · 22/02/2007 20:45

Uni, sorry, didn't mean to be nosey, just had it in my head you had more than one (thought I'd read something to do with boys, I probably misread) but then the 'other one' seemed to have disappeared - skibump confused duh

Seems v busy here, but not quite sure why. Off to stay with friends in Dublin for a long w/e. Their lo (3.4) is v excited about all the things he's going to do with ds, I keep saying he's still v small...."then we'll play football....and cuddle him cos he's still small you know" says Ollie. [ahhh emoticon]

UniSarah · 22/02/2007 21:27

no probs Ski- I do refer to "boys" at times, I swap babysitting with another mum quite a bit and our boys see a lot of each other and get on like a house on fire ( ie- quite destructive and highly suspisious if you can't see who started it!).
Today we took the boys( and a girl as well for teh record) on a train . just to teh end of teh line, through the puddles to a tea shop and then back thro the pudles to teh train home ... what an exciting morning out! but its something you can do with 3 todlers on a rainy half term morning.

Boy (uniboy) had a meltdown this afternoon, total tantraum time because i stopped him investigaing the gas fire. He howled and threw stuff and pushed me away for best part of an hour! Oh joy, hes not even 1 yet and he can throw a hissy fit in 2 year old style.

Frizbe · 22/02/2007 22:32

Awww at the toddler tantrum Uni he's growing up, your iddle bubba, so feeling broody yet???

Skibump, enjoy Dublin, lovely city hope ds doesn't get used as a football tho!!

UniSarah · 23/02/2007 22:14

friz- broody, me? NO. absolutly not. In fact when jokingly offered a swap of a younger one for mine at M&T this morning i refused it gladdly, I actully prefer uniboy now hes a bit older ... not that i didn't like him before. wouldn't want to do the early days again.

Frizbe · 23/02/2007 22:36

only teasing!!
dd1 has earache hoping the nurofen knocks her out for the night totally...she screamed for an hour this afternoon and that was after a double dose calpol/nurofen.....mind you she then slept for 3, so must have been poorly, lets hope she feels lots better tomorrow!

Astrophe · 24/02/2007 00:07

Does that mean no more for you then Uni? I'll admit to being broody today over my friends gorgeous 3 month old...then thought about another friend who was hospitalised with morning sickness last week and reconsidered

DD and DS have the spews so in for a looooong night I think. Hows your DD's ear now Friz?

I'm trying to decide what my plans are for BFing after DS is one. Some days he bites and is a pain, and I can't wait to stop...but then he is such a hopeless sleeper I wouldn't know what to do with him if I couldn't feed him off to sleep, so then I think I'll carry on...but then he does 'ask' to be fed a bit during the day (which I don't really like - would be happy to do 3 feeds/24 hours...but not 5!), and maybe it will only get harder?...or maybe e will grow out of it and it will be easier!? Arrrghhh!!

I think I will phase out day feeds after he is one, and if that leads to finishing BFing altogether then so be it, or if he continues with a morning and night feed then thats fine too. Hmmmm. Good. Glad I've got that straight. (Thanks for listening guys!)

Where are you lot up to re. B/F feeding?

UniSarah · 25/02/2007 21:08

Yep, no plans for more children. One is enough for me.
re Breast Feeding past 1. I've been thinking about it too. At the mo we are on 3 a day mostly with occasional extras particulary if hes ill. I've moved the mid afternoon B/f to after lunch and that will be the next one I'll drop. I'm thinking I'll keep the breakfast b/feed going longest if uniboy is agreeable. He already does bedtime with out it once a week and the bedtime feed is quite small now.
He does "ask " for milk sometimes, but he only gets it if its a good time and NOT if hes trantrauming like he was the other day , kicking and screaming and signing milk. He does get offered a cup drink when he signs milk tho.
We introduced cows milk in a cup in small quanitiys in Jan and hes fine drinking it, seems to like it as much (or little) as formula.

Frizbe · 25/02/2007 22:39

No good asking me about BF, stopped it a while back, now slowly moving onto cups for feeds (ie I've braved the afternoon feed this week onto a beaker, so far so good) I'm going to go cold turkey onto beakers for everything next week, cue shocked dd2 no doubt!
I got my act together today and brought dd2's birthday prezzie (the old sandpit like everyone else! will give dd1 something to play with too!) got lots of other bits too, cause they were cute like plates, napkins, banners etc, I'm turning into a right softie in my old age and a cute bib too.......
Was up at Elsecar Heritage Centre, Barnsley yesterday, quite nice, has anyone been to the play centre there?
They had a clothing fair on there, for our busniness, so I got 2 x pirate shirts (calm down girls) 1 x ex theatre frock coat, tis a gorgeous emerald green and fits me purrrrfect and two belts for a £5! oh and a pouch thing as well! we then drifted upto York to check out a site we're using for more events later this year and confirm details with the manager.

laundrylover · 26/02/2007 17:30

Just catching up as at old house so have internet! Trying to organise swaps but it's so difficult now with all these providers etc!

New house is fab but needs LOTS of work. DP has to lay bamboo floor in the dining room before he is allowed to go ski-ing on Sat so that Kiah can go on the floor!

I'm still feeding on demand really although she can go all day withnone if I'm not there and has cow's milk froma drinker. TBH I regretted stopping so much last time that I'm quite happy to carry on for the time being. I'm also gaining experience for my peer support volunteering with teeth/toddler feeding etc!

Looking forward to being back on line next week....better pack a box or two before I pick the kids up .

Frizbe · 26/02/2007 22:41

Hurrah for moving LL must be nice to get shifted finally (says she dreaming of the day when we have space again!)

dd2 had her settling session at nursery today, as she starts just one day a week, as of next week so I can get some work done, hurrah, and also boo, as job no1, is to delve into the kit/wardrobe in the garage and get it all washed (oh about 300 garments, argh!) and check it for mending as well..... she enjoyed herself today tho. Only a slight cry when I left, then the toddler slide became far too tempting and she spent the remainder of the time trying to scale it the wrong way around ....blame her brother and sister for that one

Frizbe · 27/02/2007 21:31

Oh dear talking to myself again!!
Took dd2 to twisting tots today and she got happy birthday sung to her, as she's in the next 7 days!!! where did that year go then??

Astrophe · 27/02/2007 21:37

I'm here Friz, just very busy posting on high-brow topics ...but really must do the dishes and go to bed

DCs have the spews here - well almost recovered I think. Hope DS is back to happy self for the 9th!

Uni - noodles?
